This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Tina,Looks like I will have to throw away some of my wardrobe. I wouldn't want to look like everyone else!! And I was going to pack that lovely pink outfit with the leggings :(
Speaking of Wal-Mart, I was at the store in the next town over about a week and a half ago. I wanted to purchase a new pair of silver hoops for our trip, but there was no one in the jewelry dept. I went to the service desk and they paged help for me. Well, long story short, no one showed up. The gal at the service desk did offer to re-page help, but I was out of time. When I got home I filed a complaint online. I got a phone call from the manager of that store earlier today. He apologized and wanted to make it right. Just got back. He not only paid for my earrings, he also gave me a $25 gift card!!
Got the following text from Eric this afternoon: I guess I'll email you to explain my position.
I texted back: Quite frankly I'm not interested in your position. I made my peace with Dad well before he died. Whatever hang ups u have r your problem. I love u for u and don't judge. Period.
He then tried calling me, but I let it go to voicemail. He didn't leave a message and did not send an email either. I'm sick of being judged by someone that is no saint.
Can you believe I dropped new phone into the water while I was getting my pedi? The guy dove for it like he was panning for gold lol!! It is working..mostly. It is slow to shut down. Hopefully that will improve! Thing is, when I put it on my lap I was thinking...you will drop it!!! DUH!
Well, I almost lost it when the little oriental guy said "If i see you gunno dop it Ia wood have gabbed it" That would have been interesting since it was in my lap. Just where was he going to "gab it?"
HOdi No packing yet. I usually don't until the day before I leave.
I explained your situation to my daughter the other night and I think she hit the nail on the head. Her immediate response was that he's angry at your dad for how he chose to spend the end of his life and therefore angry with you for letting him do that. I think she's right.
I have just returned from my 'retreat' with my old (and I do mean old) school chums. Two of the girls were sick so there were only five of us this year. We had this wonderful house right on the beach. The weather was crappy, rainy and overcast and foggy at times, but we still walked on the beach and checked out the tide pools and the surfers. And of course, we took our wine on the beach with us. I don't know if it is legal to drink on the beach, but we figured they wouldn't hassle five OLD women. The weather notwithstanding, our moods were not dampened. We were so sad that Mickie and Margaret missed out on this wonderful experience that we decided to rent the same house for next year.
I had my iPad with me with every intention of keeping up with the blog, but for some damn reason I couldn't connect with the WiFi. I will catch up tomorrow.
I am going to bed early tonight because it was a rough drive on the way home. We left at 9:00am and it was foggy. I figured it would burn off early, but instead it got worse. After driving for almost two hours, it was raining and so foggy I couldn't see two feet in front of me, so I pulled off the freeway and we waited for about an hour in a parking lot. Finally the fog lifted some and we continued on home. It took us three hours longer to get home than it took to get to Ventura. I was never so happy to see the outskirts of Sacramento.
Tina....I wish you would learn to express yourself...don't be so shy. Nice to see you
Mary, congrats on first and pretty today. Prettier now with your new pedi but without a phone. Were you able to fix it?
Barb, so glad you had fun on your retreat. Scary driving in fog. I've done that a time or two and was scared to death...like driving with a blindfold on your eyes. I'm happy you are home safe.
Jodi, that was really nice of Walmart to do all that follow up with you. Good you filed a complaint. On the note of your brother....stay strong in your beliefs. You did the right thing in my opinion.
Tina, thanks for the blog. I got so xcited to see you I almost forgot.
JL, I pack the day before a trip too but only because I try everything on to see if it fits. As I've said before, I'm a terrible packer. You will get a laugh out of this..I went to a friends bday celebration tonight and wore a new top. When I came home Louis pointed out to me that a big tag was hanging from under my armpit. The price tag and store name. How embarrassing no one mentioned it to me. I hugged a few times too so it had to show!!!
Well, off to bed and no plans for tomorrow. It will be boring for me unless I sleep a long time.

ReplyDeleteMary Submerge it in uncooked rice for a day or so to draw out moisture. Google it.

Good night all. Sweet dreams.
SacBarb So glad you had such a nice time with your friends and that you got home safely.
ReplyDeleteUM, Hi Tina! Good hearing from you LOL!!
ReplyDeleteBarb, your retreat sounded good to be except for the fog part. You were smart to pull over.
Headed to bed. Lots to do in the next few days.......
Tina....I wish you would learn to express yourself...don't be so shy. Nice to see you

Dianne I did that once when wearing a new coat. Like your top, the tag was under the arm. It's possible no one noticed it.
ReplyDeleteHOdi I forgot to say congrats on the free earrings and the gift certificate. That was very nice customer service.
ReplyDeleteLouis said I looked like Minnie Pearl!!!
