This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Don't have much planned today. My oldest is going to come over and hang out so I have some chores for him. He doesn't know it yet. We'll see how that works out. LOL
I thought about going to Costco. It's nice to have someone who can tote all the stuff I buy, but it's too close to the first of the month and it's usually a zoo so I'm rethinking that.
SacBarb You are looking mighty pretty today sitting there in first place. I hoe youhave a good visit with your son. I don't belong to Costco anymore but I remember it being a zoo all the time, especially on weekends.
I had to share something with you. Last night my youngest sister who is a nurse was assaulted while doing home care. She takes care of children that are on breathing tubes, always in their homes. The boy's Mother is bipolar and who knows what else. Prolly off her meds. Anyway when she got out of work she told my sis(Lena) she was going to take a shower. Lena was in the Kitchen trying to talk to the woman's drunk husband when the woman came in an went berserk beaten my Lena in the face and pulling her hair. Lena was in shock and didn't retaliate. The woman's husband finally pulled his wife from her. Lena grabbed her purse and ran out to her car in her stocking feet, called her employer and her husband. Her employer told her to call the police which she did. Lena is still in shock for the unprovoked assault! From what I understand the woman is here illegally. No one will be able to work for this woman after the Nursing co. reports her. It breaks my sister's heart because she loves the little boy. He is a cutie. I met him at my sister's house(and the mother) They have been a part of Lena's family for over 2 yrs. The little one was born with no butt and has had to use a breathing device since birth. I will let you know what happens when I find out more. Nursing sure can be dangerous!!
Omg Mary, that's terrible. I'm glad your sister is okay. Doesn't the nursing facility do a little more on checking out the people before assigning a nurse to a house? Very scary. I'm sure your sister was scared to death. Again, glad she's okay. Btw, how is your other sister feeling?
Mary, I'm so sorry your sister had to go through that. How freakin' scary. After working for these people for two years you'd think she could trust that something like that wouldn't happen. The boy probably should be removed from that house.
Well, Dean and I went to Costco and I am $257 poorer. I even had a list with only 8 items on it, but of course I got a 'few' things in addition to the list items. It wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. Now I have to put all this crap away. ;)
Mary I'm so sorry about your sister's frightening experience. I hope child protective services are informed of the situation now at that house as the child will still need extra care that the parents cannot provide.
I have never heard this song before but the melody is kinda catchy and upbeat. I like it. Thanks for posting it, Tina.

ReplyDeleteBarb, you sure look chicky at first this morning. Hope you are having a nice day with your son. Did you end up going to Costco or not?
ReplyDeleteJL, I like changing the clocks sooner. I did notice last night at 6pm it was still light out. It's a beautiful Spring day here.
Just came home from a baby shower and we didn't have to play any games....yippee!!!!

ReplyDeleteI just talked to my sis. She is still shaken. Kind of like post traumatic syndrome.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your concern.
Barb, I am guilty of going in with a short list and coming out with much more than I came in for lol!

ReplyDeleteSAcBarb Just a few extra things? LOL
ReplyDeleteYeah, well...at least I didn't partake of the Costco buffet (all the samples the little old ladies give out).
