This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
What, no pizza at a pizza place? LOL! I almost forgot to check in ! All is well. When the weather gets warmer I get more active. Today it was over cast, a little misty, but still managed to get in a couple of nature walks with the dogsters.
So many of my friends are having kids graduate, so of course we have a few open houses coming up. My Grand daughter from my Son Tony also graduates this year. Thank goodness none of the other open houses are on the same week end!
Tina, thanks so much for sharing your kids prom pics. I loved them!
I am pooped! We had/have company today. I say that because he has not left yet lol! He is one of those friends that knows when dinner is going to be served and that there is a big stock of beer in the frig lol!!He stays forrrreeeevvvvverrrr! He is an old high school friend of Jim's, so we tolerate him. He is a nice guy, but he talks non stop while looking at the ceiling. I think he may have had one too many "do bees" when he was young lol! I wouldn't mind him so much except he never brings Jim at least a 6pk of beer. He goes through that and more while here! I made a pile of tortillas and Mex food. I was hoping there would be some left for my son who was at night classes. I wanted to LOL, when Jim got done eating and went in the living room expecting his friend to follow, nope he grabbed another tortilla filled it with more stuff and happily ate away. I had to cook up more meat for my son! Here's hoping he leaves soon!
Mary, You should have put your son's food away before you called the men to dinner. We used to have a friend like that and I would hide half the food for my kids who worked late. He was a nice guy too, but a moocher. LOL
Dianne Good morning! You are prettiest today. Sounds like you had a good time staying out late and drinking margaritas the other night. Did you climb on top of the table and dance?
Happy Tuesday Hooters! You guys cracked me up on your comments about Jim's friend! He actually left earlier than usual. He left before midnight!! Hooray! Dianne, how fun to get out for a while. I had one of those store bought frozen Margaritas last night. Yummy :)
Dianne, did you say s--w??? A 4 letter word for sure! LOL!!
SacBarb I agree. I find it boring without my traveling companions, too. I am looking forward to going to my hometown in a couple of weeks, though, and your Australia trip will be here before you know it.
J/L, And you also have your London trip with your daughter after SoCal. You will be very busy soon. I am still working on getting flight reservations. So far there have been no seats available with our award miles. They only release a few seats every couple of weeks and they won't tell me which days they release them.
I'm just hangin' out at home until about 4:30 when I get to go back to the Sac Theatre Company to see the show that I ushered for on Sunday. They ended up selling out and there were no seats for the ushers, so they gave us tickets for tonight. They are very nice to their volunteer ushers, unlike the Music Circus summer theatre, who could care less if we get to see the show. But I do it for the love of the theatre. ;)
J/L, The show is called "Master Harold and the Boys." The billing reads "A universal coming of age story. This intimate play explores how both love and hate can influence our lives." Very generic. That could be just about anything. And aren't most stories, 'coming of age' stories? It has gotten very good reviews, although I rarely pay attention to the reviews, and most of the run has been sold out.
Hi...I'm awake. Thanks JL for saying I look pretty. I look better now than this morning.
Went to work and then met a friend for dinner. I talked my granddaughter into going to BBQ the other night and she was not thrilled about it. I just hadn't had any BBQ for so long. Tonight my friend picked the place and picked....you guessed it....BBQ I think I now have had enough for awhile.
Tomorrow I have a dr appt, lunch with my brother, pick up pants I had shortened, car wash, come home and dinner with a different friend. Busy day. I will have to be up by the crack of 10:15AM.
I'll try and send you warm wind from Alaska when I there in a couple of weeks, JL. Yes, I'm getting anxious but always wonder if I will be able to get around okay. It's a big worry to me.
Barb, glad you are getting to enjoy the show tonight. Wish we all lived closer to do some hanging out.
Here I am Dianne! I too had a busy day. With gas prices as bad as they are, I make sure to plan my day as to get more stuff done. I picked new glasses incl. one polarized ., got my Jeep washed, went to the Health food store, bank,Pet store,Dollar store (spent more than a dollar)and bought some hanging plants to purdy up our yard :)
Tomorrow looks pretty busy too! My gray roots are screaming, but they will have to stfu until next week lol!!
Mary Gee, you were busy today. All I did was go to two different clothing stores to try to find somethng to buy. Of course, I do consider it work to have to try stuff on. I did end up buying a cute summer top and matching jacket but not sure if I'll keep it. I have to try it on with the pants I plan to wear with it. I'm hoping every ripple of my belly fat won't be noticeable.
Juatlin, I have made "hiding my ripples" an art form lol!! I hear you on"shopping for cloths, feeling like work"! I still need to make my Kentucky Derby picks!
J/L, You are right about the play. It was on B'way for a while and was nominated for a Tony. It started a little slow, but picked up quickly and it was really a very powerful story. Only had three actors, two adult African American actors and one teen anglo boy. The play takes place in 1948, the first year of apartheid in South Africa. It was 96 minutes long with no intermission.
The Sacramento Theatre Company always has a prologue before each play, usually given by either a cast member or the director. They give the background of the author and the back story of the play, so we had quite a bit of information before the performance. It really makes the whole experience more enjoyable.
BTW, I don't like to shop for clothes either, that's why I buy so much on QVC. I mostly buy the Denim & Company line or Susan Graver line. I try them on at home and if I don't like them, I send them back. I haven't sent too much back.
Heading down to LOIS' after work today. We are going to Jason Dudey's show in Dubuque, Iowa tonight. He's a comic friend of hers, but is freakin' hilarious!! And then tomorrow we are going to the fundraiser for Teen Turf. This will be the 3rd year that I've attended.
SacBarb You look extra hot today and I mean that in a good way. We were at 88 yesterday but it was quite a bit cooler today. Not sure what it was but I'm guessing it was in the 70's. They are saying chance of rain Monday and Tuesday. Around here, you never know what you're going to get.
Looks like everyone is out and about this fine Saturday.
I'm waiting for my son & his wife, grandson and sister to come over. We are going to make a little video wishing my DIL, Vicki a Happy Birthday and send it to Todd. He is going to edit it, with a bunch of Birthday videos from other family & friends, into one big one and post it on Vicki's FB page for her Birthday on May 22. There is a lot that could go wrong with this idea, but it will be interesting to see how it turns out.
We had fun roadtripping to Dubuque, Iowa last night!! Jason made it into the finals tonight! It was cool to finally meet him. Very dwn to earth, and funny as hell!!
Good morning, HOoters! It's a beautiful Sunday morning here. Hope you all have a great day.
ReplyDeleteTina Thanks for the music today. I really like this song.
ReplyDeleteLove Carrie. Thanks Tina.
ReplyDeleteCelebrated my grandson's birthday at California Pizza Kitchen. There were five of us and not one of us had pizza. Can't believe he is 22.
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone had a good day.
What, no pizza at a pizza place? LOL!
ReplyDeleteI almost forgot to check in !

Tina, thanks so much for sharing your kids prom pics. I loved them!
Mary, No, no one had pizza. Everyone had pasta but me. I had a salad.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you see prom pics of Tina's kids? Did I miss something? :(
Happy Monday. I am awake and dressed. Don't expect much more from me on this Monday morning. BBL
ReplyDeleteSacBarb LOL at awake and dressed. I can only claim one of those for myself.
ReplyDeleteHelllllloooooo!!
ReplyDeleteI am pooped! We had/have company today. I say that because he has not left yet lol! ReplyDeleteMary Is your friend still there? I guess he loves the beer and your cooking as much as the conversation.
ReplyDeleteHi....been busy cleaning and finishing my closet and forgot to come over here.
ReplyDeleteTina, thanks for the song. I love Carrie but not as much as Tim McGraw.
Mary, its really late now...did your friend spend the night? Better get breakfast ready soon.
Took my ex SIL to lunch today as she retired Friday and shes only 62....excited for her.
Saturday night I went to see a band of my old boss and ended up staying out and even drinking a few Margs. Fun night
Ok,off to bed now....night
Morning...wake up.
ReplyDeleteCan u believe it 4-8" of snow tomorrow. On May Day!!!!
ReplyDeleteDianne Good morning! You are prettiest today. Sounds like you had a good time staying out late and drinking margaritas the other night. Did you climb on top of the table and dance?
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday Hooters!
ReplyDeleteYou guys cracked me up on your comments about Jim's friend!

Dianne, did you say s--w??? A 4 letter word for sure! LOL!!
Hello Hooters.
ReplyDeleteYawnnnnn! I'm not really tired, just bored! I need some excitement in my life. I miss my traveling partners.
Dianne, I heard on the news last night about the snow you are expecting. Someone in Denver must have pissed off Mother Nature. I'm sure it wasn't you.
ReplyDeleteDianne Are you getting excited about your upcoming cruise?
ReplyDeleteSacBarb I agree. I find it boring without my traveling companions, too. I am looking forward to going to my hometown in a couple of weeks, though, and your Australia trip will be here before you know it.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, And you also have your London trip with your daughter after SoCal. You will be very busy soon. I am still working on getting flight reservations. So far there have been no seats available with our award miles. They only release a few seats every couple of weeks and they won't tell me which days they release them.
ReplyDeleteSacBarb I assume you check on those seats daily.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, No, but I have been checking 3-4 times a week. Guess I'll have to start doing it daily.
ReplyDeleteTHURSDAY...NEW DAY
ReplyDeleteGood morning everyone. Still in bed but knowing I have to get up as I snooze the alarm.
Dianne Wake up, Sleepy Head! Have you stopped snoozing? You look very pretty, by the way.
ReplyDeleteWe hare having a windy day today. It is quite a warm wind which always feels weird. Our winds usually feel like they are coming straight from Alaska.
Happy Thursday Hooters.
ReplyDeleteI'm just hangin' out at home until about 4:30 when I get to go back to the Sac Theatre Company to see the show that I ushered for on Sunday. Have a good day all.
Dianne, wakey wakey wakey. Sorry for your snow.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, It was very windy here yesterday, too. My allergies are in high gear!
SacBarb What show do you see today?
ReplyDeleteJ/L, The show is called "Master Harold and the Boys." The billing reads "A universal coming of age story. This intimate play explores how both love and hate can influence our lives." Very generic. That could be just about anything. And aren't most stories, 'coming of age' stories? It has gotten very good reviews, although I rarely pay attention to the reviews, and most of the run has been sold out.
ReplyDeleteSacBarb The name of the play sounds familiar. I think it had Tony nominations at some point.
ReplyDeleteHi...I'm awake. Thanks JL for saying I look pretty. I look better now than this morning.

Mary and Jodi .....where are the two of you?
Here I am Dianne!

ReplyDeleteGood eeveening everyone.

ReplyDeleteDianne, Come visit me and we can hang out and go to plays.

ReplyDeleteGood morning HOoters!!
ReplyDeleteJust a quick fly by....
ReplyDeleteHeading down to LOIS' after work today. We are going to Jason Dudey's show in Dubuque, Iowa tonight. He's a comic friend of hers, but is freakin' hilarious!! And then tomorrow we are going to the fundraiser for Teen Turf. This will be the 3rd year that I've attended.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteWhat are your plans?
HOdi Sounds like a busy and fun weekend for you. Not much going on here. We had a bit of a heat wave today...88! Say hello to the Twater for me.
ReplyDeleteIt is 90 degrees here right now. I think we have achieved summer.
ReplyDeleteSacBarb You look extra hot today and I mean that in a good way. We were at 88 yesterday but it was quite a bit cooler today. Not sure what it was but I'm guessing it was in the 70's. They are saying chance of rain Monday and Tuesday. Around here, you never know what you're going to get.
ReplyDeleteWe are back to sun so had my new car washed today. It's better not snow again!!!

Jodi, hope you are having fun.
Got all my errands done and meals too..and then I wonder why I can't lose weight
Only nine days u Gil cruise time so time to strt the dreaded packing and hating all my clothes. Be prepared for me to whine the next week. :)

Good mornin' Hooters.
ReplyDeleteLooks like everyone is out and about this fine Saturday.

SacBarb Have fun making the video. I think it's a great idea.
ReplyDeleteMary Waving a wing at you. What are your plans today? I have no real plans today. I may just stay home and clean house. Gasp!
ReplyDeleteWaving a wing from Hoville, USA!!
ReplyDeleteWe had fun roadtripping to Dubuque, Iowa last night!! Jason made it into the finals tonight! It was cool to finally meet him. Very dwn to earth, and funny as hell!!
ReplyDeleteP.s. He complimented me on my sassy 'do, and totally knew who I was courtesy of my comments on LOIS' fb page!! I'll take them both from a gay comic :)

ReplyDelete
