  1. Love the video ZONA!! I got to see these beautiful creatures in Hawaii. *thankfully I wasn't THAT close* ;)

  2. Zona Thank you for the vid! "Yikes!" is right! I've seen them from a distance a couple of time in Alaska and sure wouldn't want to be next to them while they are feeding. Guess these guys didn't want to re-enact the tale of Jonah, either.

  3. Zona, If that was me in the water, well, my panty liners would not been enough lol!!!!

A quiet kind of day. I had an apptmt at my Ophthalmologist, which went surprisingly fast! I have been there as long a 3 1/2 hrs!
I have been online trying to get travel info for my neighbor. He wants to go to Genoa Il. to a friend and then to an Air Show. So far a train is the easiest and cheapest way to go especially with his 2 knee replacements. Driving 12hrs would be torture!

I am so mad! Nor far from me we had a beautiful wood covered bridge about 200 yrs old. On the week end of the 4th somebody set it on fire and it was completely destroyed. To add insult to injury they caught some idiots trying to cart off some of the metal to sell for scraps. They got caught. There is a $7,000 reward out for the burning culprits!

OK, I saw the Royal baby, looks like a normal human lol!!

  4. Good morning, HOoters!

Yesterday was a total waste for me. I slept most of it away. Starting Sunday, I've been having stomach issues. Every time I would eat something, my stomach would start hurting. Finally, last night I had a sandwich and Coke and had no bad effects from it. I hope I am over it now, whatever it was. I could kind of ignore it when it started on Sunday but it really hit hard on Monday when I was in Modesto at my son's house. I stayed longer than I intended just because of the stomach pains and was waiting until I felt I could make the two hour drive home without any emergency stops. Oy vey! Thankfully I made it.

  5. Zona, I agree with Mary. Even Depends wouldn't be enough if that happened to me. Thanks for sending it.

J/L, I'm glad you're feeling better. Hope it doesn't come back.

Jodi, It's fun to see the whales in Hawaii, but from a distance.

  6. I have already been to the lab @ Kaiser today for a fasting blood test, then I have to go back @ 2:00 for the weight management class. I don't know how much good it's doing, because I keep playing with it and I need to get serious about it again. I would like to lose about 200 lbs. before I go to Australia, in a couple of months. ;)

I also have a car load of clothes and misc. items for WEAVE that I must drop off at some point today and I need to order new glasses. Whew! I better get going.

  7. P.S. My sister-in-law called and they are going to spend the night again here on their way to Oregon. She said they would be here about 8:00pm and I said in my nicest voice possible, "Unless you find a casino on the way." She laughed. She thought I was kidding. I am still pissed about their last stop-over. My house is the convenient and free Sac motel with room service. argghhhhhh

  8. Barb Oh yippee! I'm sure you're thrilled that they are stopping in again.

  9. Mary That is horrible about that bridge. Why would someone do that? People can be so crappy sometimes.

  10. Well, I got let go from work today. There is not enough business to keep both of us busy..actually hardly enough to keep Tammy busy..not good news. I guess I will find some volunteer work again but it won't be bingo!!! I'm sad because it gave me two days a week to spend with my daughter and grandkids (when they were there). It's been a whole year. I'm also very worried about what Tammy is going to do.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Mary, that is terrible someone would do that to the bridge. I hope they catch them but it won't bring the 200 year old bridge back. :(

JL, I hope you are feeling better today. Glad you were able to get home without stopping. That is such a miserable feeling.

Barb, I purchased tickets for Showboat today. Louis is going with me as my two theater friends weren't interested in going. I had to make him promise he won't sing as he is a loud good singer. We go in a couple of weeks.

So Barb...guess who's coming to dinner, right? I would not be providing room service!!!!

Jodi, we saw a lot of whales in Alaska. I think they said they were from Hawaii. Maybe we saw the same ones!!

Jay Leno showed this whale clip on his show last night. He said it was an "oh shit" moment!!

Barb...when we go on that cruise we can snorkel and see what we can scare up, ok?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Dianne, have you talked Barb into going on our incasewewinthelottery" cruise? I'm not sure snorkeling would be high on he to-do list lol!

JL, I had the same mysterious tummy troubles last week. I kept trying to figure out if it was something I ate or if I had some underlying serious problem. At my age I imagine EVERYTHING is trying to do me in lol!!

Barb, it seems like I have been on a life long diet! 200lbs?? lol I would love to lose 20. I really need to lose more, but 20 would make me very happy :_

  13. Mary..she's going. She's just going to be drinking and in a life vest at all times. It's settled

    ReplyDelete
  14. Mary, maybe 200 is a slight exaggeration, but what the hell, aim high, right? Burning the old bridge was a real crappy thing to do. I hope they get the suckas.

Dianne, If I ever do go on a cruise, I WILL NOT be snorkeling. I don't know how to swim and that's why I don't go in the water.

J/L, I am thrilled...NOT! I'm still pissed, but I'm not fixing dinner and I bought banana muffins for breakfast, so I'm not cooking that either. I will make coffee and if the muffins don't fill them up, there is a Denny's on their way out of town.

  15. Barb And don't let the door hit them on their asses on the way out. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  16. Mary I seem to be doing okay today, thankfully. I guess I'm over it, whatever it was.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Dianne I guess Barb better start packing her sequins, crystals, ribbons, glue, and anything else she needs to decorate that life vest for formal night.

  18. Very late...3am and I'm still awake playing games on my ipad. I have to get up early too...10:45. When I'm awake this late, I want to eat.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Dianne, I know how it is staying up late and wanting to eat. I can do really well with my calorie counting all day, then when I'm watching Jimmy Fallon or Carson Daly or something even later, I get a craving for something salty.

    ReplyDelete
  20. J/L, It is now 9:32am and they just left. They ate the banana muffins and had coffee and didn't complain and I didn't offer anything else. I also realized last night as we were talking around the kitchen table, that my FIL is a racist. He got on this kick of telling ethnic jokes and even used the 'n' word, and the hair on the back of my neck stood straight out! He's 88 years old and I said nothing, but I did leave the room. I don't see him very often (it's been a year) but thinking back, he's always told those jokes and used to find such joy in telling me Italian jokes. He finally quit when he realized he couldn't get me to react. He just likes to push people's buttons and I really have to fight against reacting, because if he gets a reaction he intensifies his attack (which is why I said nothing about the 'n' word remark). Anyway, I am glad they are gone!

  21. I got up at 6am and I already feel a nap coming on. I don't have anything else planned for today, so it may just happen. Happy Thong Thursday Hooters.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Mary, I like Dianne's idea. If I ever went on a cruise, I would have to be in an alcoholic stupor the whole time.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Dianne I do the same thing which is a real problem since I'm almost always up late. If I eat something sweet, then I want something salty, and vice versa.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Barb Well, that must have been uncomfortable to listen to those "jokes". Perhaps you can let him know they are hot your cup of tea and you'd prefer not to have to listen to them in your own house. Or you could just hand them the numbers of the nearest hotels. Ha!

  25. J/L, His personality is such that if he knows something bothers someone, he will step up the comments that bother. I wish I had the strength to tell them what I think, but I just don't want to get into all that drama. Plus, he wouldn't really care if it bothers me. It would be so much different if my Hubby were still here. These people are true Okies (their word) and have a very southern mentality, which I know is stereotyping, but I've always said there is usually a valid basis for stereotypes. I guess that makes me judgmental, but I have lived with their attitudes for over 50 years and it extends beyond just jokes.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Barb It's a shame they haven't evolved over the years.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Barb, I think you handled the situation the best you could, considering his background. He will never change. Thanks goodness they don't live close to you!
I bet you cringe a lot when they are there!

We went to our county fair today. We didn't stay long, just got a bit of junk food and watched a few people that must have come right from Walmart lol!!
    Time to check my farms.....

  28. J/L, Truer words were never spoken. I have thought that many times.

Mary, Yes I am so glad I don't live closer.

  29. Good morning, Dianne! Why are we up so early?

  31. Hello Hooters.

Dianne & J/L, you guys were up really early!

Mary, I be those DJ gigs are fun.

I've got nothing going on today. Just hangin' here at home. I may clean something, then again I may not!

    Have a good day.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Mary Hope you didn't get wet today.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Barb LOL @ you may or may not clean something. That's about how I feel today and so far it's pretty much "not". WE should plan another get-away.

    ReplyDelete
  34. J/L, Did you have a place in mind that we should visit? I'm pretty open until I leave for Australia.

  40. Last night we took my in-laws out for their Anniversary. It was really on July 8, but we just now had the time to do it. They have been married 52 years! My father-in-law cracked me up, though. Started fighting with me over the check. I knew he would do that, so I had talked to our waitress beforehand and told her NOT to give it to him. I finally had to say "just say thank you and smile" ;) I was happy to do it being that my parents are gone and I can't do it for them ♥

  41. Lazy day here. Found a Harry Potter marathon on the ABC Family Channel and have been watching it most if the day. I did do 1 load of laundry and went out for dinner with my hubby. We went to one if our favorite diners. I had prime rib and he had an omelet...lol!! Topped it off with a Grasshopper!! Sooo good, but now I'm about in a coma ;-)

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Good night HOoters <3

    ReplyDelete
  42. HOdi That's a good way to end your day. I did one load of laundry, too. Other than that, haven't done much except went to work for a couple of hours and went out to lunch.

  46. Jodi,Have a nice relaxing weekend off so you can gear up for 7 days in a row of work!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Barb That's going to be a nice long trip.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Wow Barb, you are going for a really long time on your trip. That will be fun.

You guys can come here before winter, during winter or after winter. It would be fun. I don't have bedrooms but I can sure take you around and show you the city and some fun

Went to a wedding early evening tonight. Weather was perfect for outside wedding. Reception was inside and then it rained. Very pretty wedding...my uncles granddaughter so really don't know her but Louis was helping with pictures

Jodi, I'll take the prime rib over an omelet any day. Enjoy your day off tomorrow.

JL, are you feeling better now? Hope so.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Dianne Yes, I am feeling better, thank you. Sometimes, I think I still have a little remnant of it, but mostly I am fine now.
