My nephew James is living his dream this summer. He tried out and made The Madison Scouts
colorguard line. This is the video that
my SIL shot of their final run thru after their dress rehearsal. Enjoy!!!
Brian J. Ouellette
This is the Navy Seal that James is representing in the 75th
anniversary edition of the Madison Scouts. He was killed in a Humvee attack on
May 29th, 2004 during operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He was one of
four killed in the attack and the fifth man from his base in Virginia Beach who
died in combat. What a beautiful way to
honor those that have given the ultimate sacrifice!

HOdi Thank you for the blog today and congrats to James. That was quite a performance and a wonderful way to honor our fallen heroes.
ReplyDeleteHi JL,you're looking mighty perky on your branch today :)
ReplyDeleteJodi, thanks for the vid. It was pretty neat! I was in our marching band...hated it! I was so un coordinated! I always got the outside where I had to walk the fastest with these short legs lol!
Great job Madison and James!!
Jodi, Thanks so much for sharing that video. Congratz to James for making the Scouts. They are really good and I love the song, although it always brings tears to my eyes.
ReplyDeleteWaving a wing to J/L and Mary and all the other Hooters.
Checking in from "The Sticks"! My boss let me out early so I was down here by 2. O M G.... LOIS' puppy Sophie is soooo cute!!
ReplyDeleteThanks SLIN!! So proud of James :)
ReplyDeleteP.s. Pretty in 1st today!!
ReplyDeleteMARY - I, too was in marching band!! But I loved it. That's a cruel trick to play on u....almost like marching double time ;)
ReplyDeleteBARB - I always sob during the closer. Such a moving song, and the way they have put it on the field is amazing!
ReplyDeleteTheir show has evolved a lot since this video. Can't wait to see them in Indianapolis at the World Championships!!
ReplyDeleteJodi, thanks for the blog. Great video and good job James!!! I'm so glad Jake is doing so well. It is amazing how quick he has rebounded. Can't believe he's already on his bike.
ReplyDeleteOk...looks like Barb is going on our cruise. Decorated vest and booze..we can provide both. JL. You sit by her at formal night, ok?
Just recd a notice today that Showboat is coming here after I just told you I hadn't ever seen it. I'm hoping my friends will want to go.
JL, thanks for the trip info. It sounds like you had a great time and were very busy. Lots of countries!!! Glad you had fun.
Mary, I can just picture you running to catch up with the line.....mean band teacher.
Went to a new dentist for a crown today. I was there for a very long time....3 1/2 hours. My mouth kind of hurts tonight.
ReplyDeleteIt's almost the one year anniversary of the movie shootings. It is so sad and interesting too. Interesting to see how the people are healing still from their injuries.
Dianne I'm glad to hear you went to a new dentist. Not glad you had to but I was starting to really wonder about the credentials of the dentist you used to go to.
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Can't believe its been a year for those people. Hopefully they are getting on with their lives ok. Jake took off with Grandpa Huston yesterday for another wagon train. He will be back on Sunday :)
ReplyDeleteWaving a wing from Illinois. Having coffee outside. The humidity doesn't seem as bad this morning. I think it is because there is a breeze. Suppose to get thunderstorms today, and much cooler temps starting tomorrow!!
ReplyDeleteHOdi Oooh! Love me a good thunderstorm. Say "hi" to the Twater for me.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Hasn't happened yet, but you can tell something is brewing! Sorry, I was already on the road when u posted. Wanted to get back (hate driving in a storm)!!
ReplyDeleteJodi....are u home safe now? Hope so. We can't have any owls flying around in storms.
ReplyDeleteOur weather has been so nice the last couple of days in the 80's but going back up tomorrow for the weekend. Really nice ocean breeze tonight.....it has to come very far to our state. Lol
HOdi Hope you battened down the hatches.
ReplyDeleteDianne LOL @ your ocean breeze.
ReplyDeleteAnybody have any fun things planned for this weekend? Nothing going on here. Probably do some housework. How fun....not.
Going with my friends to their company party/picnic Saturday night. I know quite a few of them so should be fun. Lunch on Sunday with a girlfriend. Nothing too exciting.
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Paul and I had gone over to Culver's for supper in the next town and the storm finally hit. On our way home. It rained so hard that I couldn't see. I hate it when that happens. We did make it home ok. Just took a little longer :)
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Didn't really need to batten anything down. By the time we got home it had mostly passed.
ReplyDeleteWishing everyone a fun weekend! I'm on for the next 3 days and am going in a little early today. There is a baseball tournament in town this weekend, so I want to get a jump on my bookwork. Going to be extra busy between the tournament and our big truck today. But this is what makes my days fly...and keeps me young ;)

ReplyDelete25!!!
ReplyDeleteDianne Sounds like a fun weekend for you.
ReplyDeleteHOdi You are a great employee!
ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday Hooters.
ReplyDeleteNothing special going on here today.
We are heating up again and temp is expected to be 102. Another weekend of not too much outside activity.
I hope everyone's weekend is spectacular. ♥
Barb Good thing I looked at my calendar because I'm supposed to meet friends for breakfast tomorrow morning. I had totally forgotten.
ReplyDeleteWork was crazy today. Had to clean up the mess Marci made if the books from yesterday, our compressor for our walk in cooler was freaking out, so the alarm was going off all morning. And last but not least, someone hit the brew button twice on one of our coffeemakers, so I had to re callebrate it before going home. OY!!!
ReplyDeleteMy Aunt Jane called and asked me out for dinner. She and her friend were coming to my little town because her friends friend is playing at the Oregon Bowl tonight. The Spotted Cow was flowing and now I'm going to bed.
Good night HOoters :)
Hodi You've had a very full day. Shouldn't Marci know what she's doing by now?
ReplyDeleteSLIN - She does (kinda), but I guess in her defense she doesn't do the books very often. But damn it, she knows how Christina and I leave the cash in the safe. She's just not as particular when it comes to bundling her cash and stacking the coin rolls. She also didn't realize that an extra waste adjustment was transferred from the day before, so our GP #'s are way off!! My food service leader asked me to review the #'s and that is what I found. So now our auditor at our corporate office will have to take that adjustment out on Monday.
ReplyDeleteSo far, so good this morning....*keeping fingers crossed*
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday HOoters :-)
Good morning. Sleeping in a little today. Party was fun last night. I didn't win anything at the drawings....darn it.
ReplyDeleteLouis and SIL Going to the movie with the girls. I'm meeting them afterwards for dinner. So.....I have the afternoon all alone.
Jodi, u r a hard good worker. Your place is lucky to have you for an employee.
JL, how was breakfast? Did you go early?
Hot here today....no ocean breeze ..dang it!!
HOdi Glad things are going well today. Marci needs to get with the program.
ReplyDeleteDianne Yes, I got up at 7 so I could meet the others in Burlingame at 9. I made a quick stop at Bed, Bath and Beyond on my way home and now I have stomach cramps. I guess the French toast didn't agree with me. :(
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - What movie did they go see? Enjoy your afternoon ♥
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Right?!!? My boss keeps defending her....ugh!!! Just gets old everyone thinking that "Jodi will fix it"!! Hope your tummy feels better pretty lady :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday Hooters.
ReplyDeleteDianne, Didn't you want to see the movie Louis, et al were going to see? Or did you just want some alone time?
Jodi, It's too bad that when you are a good employee you get punished by having to clean up other people's messes. Been there, done that and hated it!
J/L, Bummer that you have a messed up tummy. Hope it's better by now.
Hey Maryyyyyy, where the heck are you? Hope you're having fun at whatever you're doing! ;)
Hey everyone!
ReplyDeleteBarb, it was a busy week end. I did another cancer run Sat, which meant I had to get up way to early! It was a big event in a very little village. It is unbelievable how much support this town gets! They raised thousands of dollars for cancer research. It is about 15 miles from where I live. I lived there a bit when I was married the first time. It is mostly an Irish town. Many related to my ex. He is very much an old hermit, so no fear of our running into each other lol!
My oldest son lives there now with his new wife who was born & raised there.
His name is Tony, anyhoo, he was in a very funny skit Sat.He was the Indian to the mock Village People group. They did the "YMCA" song.
Today I slept in,cooked dinner, walked the dog, did laundry, watered the garden and got into FB a couple of times. I think I will crash again lol!!
Later sweet peeps...
Barb and Jodi and JL....they went to see World War Z. No desire to see it at all. Wendy (SIL girlfriend) met them after dinner. I don't like zombie movies. I like love or mystery movies or funny ones. I like The Heat that's out now. I have a movie girlfriend and once in awhile we brings the husbands for a double date.
ReplyDeleteMary, I saw your sons picture on FB. Looked like lots of fun.
JL..hope you are better tonight. Maybe it was the Bloody Mary's?
MARY - Walking for a cause...again!! God bless u <3. Loved the pics of your son!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Not sure I would b interested in that one, either!
ReplyDeleteHappy Hooter's Monday!!
ReplyDeleteI am all rested up :)
I am thinking I should keep up the walking, just for my own good lol! If I can do a couple of miles for Cancer I can do at least one for me eh? My biggest problem is my allergies. I need to figure out the best time of day to walk, prolly in the morning, and you know how I am about mornings lol!
Dianne, you like the movies I like. I am not into Zombies, violence, or even scary movies!
Hodie, what would that place do with out you? Marci is your job security lol!!
JL I hope you are feeling better today!
Hey Barb! I'm here, where are you??
Hello Hooters.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching The Bachelorette:The Men Tell All. There were some real asshats on this season, but I think the final three are OK. Two more weeks before we know whom she chooses. I think she likes Brooks the best, but I like Drew.
MARY - I guess when u look at it that way, you're right!!
ReplyDeleteBARB - I haven't watched that for years. Real Housewives junkie here ;-)
