This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Wow...what a powerful story and a wonderful person. Thanks for sharing, Tina.
Hmmm, hard to think of what to talk about about watching that story. Somehow going to lunch seems rather mundane at tis point so I will be back later to blab.
Tina I agree with Dianne. "Wow" is right! Now I've started my day with tears in my eyes. What an exceptional teacher and man. Makes any problems I have seem miniscule.
Hi...where are you all on this Saturday night? I went to listen to my friends band with a couple of friends and then out for breakfast. It was fun. I feel like I've been eating all day today...probably because I have been.
Dianne Sounds like you had a fun night. I was sitting at home not having fun at all. Oh, and yes, I forgot to congratulate you on the Bronco win. Good thing it doesn't count yet. ;)
I was up and awake most of the night and i don't know why. Morning couldn't come soon enough. I took my niece to a quick early lunch as she had to work. I once again had to drive to the other side of town an hour away. I should get an apt over there.
I think I'll try and take a little nap now. Jodi should be on her way home. Wonder where Mary is?
Hello Hooters. I posted in area 51 yesterday by mistake, so I just copied it to here.
I hope you are all having as good Sunday.
I just got home from SoCal and I am exhausted. The Funeral was in Thousand Oaks yesterday and after the service we went back to Porterville and spent the night at Mickie's house. We left Porterville about 8:30 and should have been home about 1:30 but we ran into traffic right before Stockton and we were completely stopped for a while. When we finally got going, we saw a crushed motorcycle on the side of the road. All the emergency vehicles were gone by the time we got there so we don/t know what really happened, but it didn't look good at all.

Dianne, I ushered for Showboat in July and it was a really good show. I wonder if it was the same touring cast? The gut that sang Ol' Man River was wonderful.
Jodi, have fun in Indiana.
J/L, I didn't stick to the diet too well and haven't been on a scale since I left home. Think I'll just wait til Monday and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Barb Nothing much going on here, either. Ran a couple of errands and went to Curves. Oh, and got a Subway sandwich, bag of chips, and Coke for $5 for lunch. Such a deal!
I'm here....took my friend out for her birthday dinner tonight. I had a cool present of some earrings I bought her in Alaska. It was nice to not have to rush around looking for a gift. She is one of those people that are easy to buy for..
Glad your home, Barb. Terrible when you see those kind of accidents. I didn't realize you went for a funeral...sorry
JL...I haven't been to WW for two weeks so it so pill not be pretty. (Never is).
Jodi...are you back to work yet? Did you enjoy your trip?
The funeral was for one of my High School friends, the ones I go away with every year. Now there are only six of us. She wasn't able to attend in January because she had the flu (she thought), but the cough didn't go away and she finally went to the doctor. After many appointments, they diagnosed lung cancer and started treatments which cleared it up, but then she had pain in her shoulder. The cancer apparently spread. Anyway, as soon as they would get it under control in one area, it would pop up in another. She finally said, "No more treatments" and when they released her from the hospital the last time, she went to a Hospice Care place. She was only there for two weeks. It was very sad and because we are the same age, it hit very close to home for all of us. We still look at ourselves as those same High School girls until something like this happens.
Barb I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend. I know what you mean about still picturing ourselves as the same high school kids. That's how it is when I am with people I went to school with. When I look at them I still see the girls and boys they once were.
Barb, so sorry about your school friend :( In my head I am still that silly school girl, in the mirror, well, not so much lol!!
I gave blood to the Red Cross today. The nurse was having trouble finding my veins. Finally she said, "I think I found one, or is it a tendon?". I told her " if in doubt, let me out!". She laugh and said, " you will feel a sting and then a burn" I said "ah, I see you are *going in*!". She laughed again and then poked me! All went well thank goodness!
Tomorrow is lunch with friends from work.
It was pretty chili here in Mich. Barely reached 70deg.
Mary..glad to see you. I was getting ready to send out a search party. Have fun at lunch tomorrow.
Barb, so sorry about your friend. Things seem to happen so quick sometimes. I still call those high school people the kids.
JL...I do have a couple of friends that we exchange bday and Christmas gifts that are easy to buy for and fun to but for.
Went to lunch with my old boss today (he bought since I lost my job). Lol. I then went to Tammy's for rest of afternoon and then I take Em to dinner as Kayla is at cheer. It's always a nice talk night with her.
MARY - "when in doubt, pull out"....oh, my flippin' hell!!! Sounds like my parent's birth control method. LOL!!! Glad things went well when you got poked :)
Sorry I've been absent, but just went back to work yesterday after having 6 glorious days off!
My trip was amazing! I truly felt like I had come full circle. Reconnecting with a couple of the guys that I had spent the summer with 27 years ago, and sharing this awesome weekend with Shari, and watching James at his first DCI World Championships. Good stuff all around!
Wow...what a powerful story and a wonderful person. Thanks for sharing, Tina.
