This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
HOdi I am being very lazy today, so far. We had a very good day yesterday. Liz loved the earrings! Late lunch at Benihana's (filet mignon and lobster) then we went and saw Twelve Years a Slave. Very good movie. Amazing that we have such brutality in our history.
Tina that vid was beautiful! She deserves all the happiness that comes her way. The Karditiots are just taking up space in this world. What a bunch of train wrecks!
JustL If she didn't like the earrings I was going to suggest maybe sending them my way lol!! I am sure she loved them!
Jodi, just a little grossery shopping and making some chicken-n-dumplings. My sis stopped by for a visit, and now I am taking a break. Our dogs have been a mess all day. There was more shooting, this time a different neighbor!
Hello Owls. I am hooooome. Dean picked us up at the SF airport and it was bumpertobumper until we crossed the Bay Bridge. Probably only J/L knows what I am talking about, but it took us almost two hours just to get that far, when it should have taken us two hours to get all the way home. We saw remnants of two accidents and that contributed to the traffic mess. We landed at 7pm and I walked into my house at 11pm. It was very nice to sleep in my own bed after a month. Got into bed at 2am and woke up at 11am this morning.
MARY - Congrats on the Lions win over those Stinky Bears!!! SMH on the Packers loss today. Had to go down to our 3rd Packer (who also played for Wisconsin!!) but we have serious issues with our defense. Once again they didn't show up :(
Waving a wing from The Curve! Jake decided to join Tim and I for breakfast!! Not sure I like the weather forecast for today. The temp is going to drop over 20* by 5pm. Definitely a great day for a pot of chili!!
Barb Welcome home! 4:00 seems to be the witching hour for the really heavy commute traffic even without two accidents to contend wit. Glad you are home safe and sound. Where to next?
So proud of my boy. He was part of the 8th grade band that played at our Veteran's Day Service this morning!! Poor kids, it was freezing and snowing out. Not easy to play in that kind of weather. Always shakes me to the core when they do the 21 gun salute, though (brings me back to Dale's funeral).
Hi. How's everyone doing! Just cleaned or de-cluttered my kitchen. I order so much online and then the boxes just sit there. I at least need to move them to my messy office. My granddaughter is coming for two nights this week and will earn some money helping me clean that office and wrapping Xmas presents. She's off school Friday.
Welcome home Barb. Glad you had a good time. Are you over jet lag yet? We missed you but were glad when u could check in.
Jl...I would like some chicken and dumplings. I've never made it so jus mail me some. Better yet..come visit and just make them here. I'm sure that stove still works. Lol.
Jodi, received the FB card in the mail today. Thank you so much. Pumpkin cheesecake here I come!!!
Mary..good job beating the Bears. We have a huge game this week playing undefeated Chiefs. We are tied for first place in our division with them. Peyton got a little hurt this week I the last one minute of the game. They say he'll be fine Sunday. Hope so. At least it's a home game.
I think I'm done celebrating my bday except for one more lunch. Actually, Louis and I still need to go out as we were at grandsons football game Saturday night and another one Sunday afternoon. I'm enjoying my new iPad.
Hi Dianne. Sorry I missed your Birthday. I hope you had a good day. I got all my mail that was held, today and thanks for the card. It gave me a big laugh.
HOdi I bet you had a great day today, meeting with your Aunt Jane and Goldie. My day was not so fun, dealing with a clogged sewer line and then toxic waste removal. Expensive day here.
Dianne I'm continuing to try to de-clutter around here, too. Yesterday I gave some more of my husband's stuff to his kids. Things that should obviously stay with his family such as old family photos and such. I also gave his son my husband's dress Navy uniform. There was no reason for it to be here and I didn't feel right about discarding it. Whatever they decide to do with it is okay with me.
Barb That would be a lot of mail you picked up today. Did you have about a barrel full of junk mail? I couldn't believe how much junk mail I had when I was gone less than 3 weeks.
J/L, I didn't have as much mail as I thought I would, but 3/4 was junk mail. I have only opened the birthday cards so far. :) I have spent most of the day (after I got up at noon) trying to figure out the expenses for me and Sharon. My credit card imposes a 1.5% charge for converting from Aussie and NZ $$ to US $$ (we were aware of that before we left) and because we were there part of two different months, I don't have all the charges yet. So one full week of charges won't be due until December. That means I have to do it again in Dec. for the last week of our trip. :(
SLIN - Dinner was great!. Jane and GOLDIE have really hit it off. She was updating us on what is going on with Matt. Keeping fngers crossed that this next text will give them the green light for his transplant. I think she just needed a night to get out and have some girl time :-) Sorry about your expensive day :-(
A couple of days ago I finally had damage to my deck post fixed. Today I am having some work done on my fence. This is only the beginning of the list of things I need to do around here. The joys of home ownership....Bah, humbug!
I'm still trying to catch up with sleep and whatever. I don't understand jet lag. I lost a day going to Australia (left on Wednesday and arrived on Friday) and felt fine the next day and I gained a day coming back and I feel like crap. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around? I should Google that. It may also have something to do with this cold I have.
Waving a wing to all the Owls. I think I'll go back to bed.
BARB - Waving a wing back at you! I'm not surprised you have a cold. Damn airplane air! I wish I could blame my tired on jet lag, but this damn time change is still kicking my butt! Rest well and get better ♥
