This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
DIANNE - I dropped Jake off at the pool at 5. They had a free pool party for kids in 5-8 grade til 7. I went to my boss's party til I had to pick him up. He said it was lame. He was the only 8th grader there. I was hoping to take Paul back to Alex's for a bit but he had been invited to another party (with some of his AA friends). I just decided to take my Nyquil and go to bed.
HOdi How are you feeling today? Somewhere around 3:30 a.m., everything that I ate or drank yesterday decided they weren't getting along in my body. It was an unpleasant 1/2 hour. Now I'm drinking my coffee and I think I'm fine now. I need to decide if I'm still going to the movies with my friends and then dinner afterward. Maybe by the time I have a second cup of coffee I will know the answer to that. I already bought the movie tickets yesterday online.
Barb Running a bit of a temperature so not going to the movie. My friends picked up the ticket receipt and said they will see about exchanging it for vouchers so we can all go another day when I can join them.
SLIN - Feeling about the same. Just have a nasty head cold that will have to run its course. Too bad you r missing the movie today, but best to stay home. I hope they will swap your tickets for vouchers. Feel better!!
No Barb, Buddy hasn't come here yet. Our next show is Evita in a couple of weeks. We watched Carson last night too. I kept switching back to Ryan Secrest too. I just don't like Miley though. I didn't even know the others.
Jodi, this deal with double tassels is no easy job. I've been practicing for you and jL's game all week. Jodi, get well. Keep an eye on that cold.
We went to the casino today and took a friend of mine with us. It was so pretty up in the mountains and snowing. They both won some and I totally lost but it was a nice afternoon.
JL , I hope you are better soon. What movie were you going to today? If you told us, I forgot.
Dianne We had planned to see "Wolf of Wall Street". We will go another day. "Evita" is one of my favorite stage productions of all time. Loved it and love the music.
HOdi You know I'm sick when I lay around on the couch watching a movie. Usually I feel too guilty doing that. I am feeling better today so I will probably do a work project that I have here at home. It shouldn't take me long.
*groan* Can ya'll speak a little quieter please? I swear I didn't drink THAT much! I think it was what I mixed that did it. One tall white Russian, one tall tequila sunrise, and a small shot of something or other. This all in 8 hrs. oh yah, a glass of wine earlier at dinner ;-p We got home about 4 am. It took a while to unwind.
Tina you sure know how to show your love lol!
I hope you sick Hooters get to feeling better!
Yay for our Michigan State Spartans winning the Rose Bowl!! Both teams deserved to be there, sad that someone has to lose. I was worried because one of our best players messed up and was not allowed to go. We don't know what he did, but it was bad enough to suspend him. I felt bad for him and his family. They have a lot of history with the college. The guy that replaced him had never played first string and this is his last year at M.S.U. He got MVP, so I was thrilled for him!
J/L, The show was EXCELLENT. The stars had some interactive sequences with the audience which were lots of fun. It gave us permission to sing along and not get glared at by the person sitting next to me. Sometimes I have trouble controlling myself!
One of the cast members' name is Jeremy Renner and I was shocked, thinking it was the same Jeremy Renner that won an academy award and was born in Modesto, CA. Of course it wasn't he and I tried to Google the cast member, but everything that came up was for the more famous Jeremy. I am surprised that two actors with the same name is allowed, but maybe it has to do with film vs stage actors. Anyway, he was one of the Crickets and he played excellent guitar. The music brought many memories and even a few happy tears.
Dianne, Evita is one of my faves, too. I have seen it many times on the stage as well as the movie with Madonna. I thought she did a very good job in the movie. It isn't on out program this season.
Buddy was out second show. We missed the first show because we were in Australia. It was Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. The rest of our season includes: Flashdance, Blue Man Group, and Wicked, which we also saw last year.
Jodi, Maybe if you Google Buddy - Broadway Show on You Tube something might come up. If you saw the movie with Gary Busy, it was a lot like that but I think it had more music.
Howdy.....Mary, sounds like you enjoyed your night. Ahh, I remember those fun days. It seems like forever ago. My life is kind of boring. I don't quite know what I want to do to make it exciting...maybe be twenty years younger or even ten would do.
JL. I loved the movie Prisoners. I thought it was very exciting...edge of your seat movie. Are you feeling better today? Hope so. Louis is at the movie with my SIL tonight seeing some action movie. Kind of nice to have the house to myself for a couple of hours.
Barb, how was the show? I think I'd like it since it's from my day ....kind of.
Jodi..are you getting any of that bad weather they are showing on TV? Boy, the East coast looks miserable. Going up to 60 tomorrow...they say.
Had a nice Olive Garden lunch with an old friend today. Yum..Tasty. I love the soup there.
Well, trying to clean up some of this Christmas paper around here. I'm ready for the decorations to come down now.
Well Barb, we were typing at the same time. We saw the Priscilla show and it was very good. It was better than I thought it would be as I'd never heard of it. Oh my friend that I go with starts singing...loud and not great...people do stare at her!!! I'd like to see Flashdance. I've seen Wicked a couple of times too.
Ok, this time I'll really go answer that dryer that seems to be calling my name.
Dianne I was feeling better this morning after about 12 hrs of sleep but in the afternoon my temperature went up again and the headache returned. At least my stomach continued to feel okay.
A mini series starting tonight on ABC titled "The Assets" about a double agent in the CIA. Saw an interview recently of the female CIA agent who first started suspecting him. Very interesting.
JL...no, I have the chicken soup although, I like the one you're talking about too. Sometimes I get one of each!!
Sorry your still under the weather. Hope that fever goes away.
Jodi, they are saying your Packer game might be blacked out because there are 13.000 tickets left. I know it's going to be the third coldest game on record but I'm surprised at how many playoff tickets left.
DIANNE - I have a feeling the weather and extreme cold are the reasons so many tickets are still available. I for one would NOT want to sit out there in frigid temps!!
Just having one last cup of coffee before I meet GOLDIE at my store. We are meeting up with both Jennifers, LOIS, and TURTLE in Rockford for lunch. TURTLE surprised her Mom for Christmas,so she was actually at LOIS's last weekend. She has kept it off of FB, so please don't say anything there. Will check in when I get back.
Good afternoon, HOoters. I woke up at about 5:30 so read my book for a half hour then fell back asleep. Didn't wake up until almost noon. I think I slept for a total of 12 hours. Either I wasn't as over being sick as I thought or else I'm hibernating like a bear. As John Wayne said, I am definitely burning daylight.
SLIN - Just woke up from a nap. I worked 4 - noon today. It was the first night of now being open 24 hours. I think it went well. Just a few adjustments to make as far as how I will now do books. On the tail end of the crap that I've had and I feel like a bear, too ;)
I had a plan for today that went completely by the wayside. For the first time since I got home after surgery, I have been in my pj's all day. I have just felt puny all day plus, I have been grazing all day too. I can't seem to satisfy my hunger. Probably gained 5 lbs.
My oldest GD is here for a second night and I love it. It was just too snowy to drive to her house so will in morning. Took her for a manicure and then we had massages and lunch.
Jodi...sounds like you had a fun lunch. It would be nice to see all those gals. Hope you get rid of that cold. Louis is coming down with something and already in bed.
J/L. ...hope you are better now too. I can sleep late all the time. I have to set an alarm when I'm going to lunch or who knows what time I'd wake up.
Pretty good playoff games today. Hope tomorrow is too.
Barb I have official re-gained every pound I lost and I now have brownies in the oven. I'm not feeling well and my temp and headache have returned. I wonder if I have the flu and perhaps it would be worse if I hadn't had the flu shot. Hope you feel better soon.
Dianne I thought I was okay yesterday so ran errands, including grocery shopping and getting my work project turned in at the clinic. Today I seemed to be having a relapse; adding sneezing to my ailments. I'm hoping that I brownies I have in the oven will make me feel better.
Barb, I think pj s sounds like a good idea! I rarely go very long in them, but I may do that tomorrow. We are supposed to get a "Snow-mageddon" possibly 12-14 inches of snow depending on which tv station you listen to lol! I know it is only Early Jan., but I am sooooo over winter!!! I too have been grazing. Hate it! Must be the depression from the dark days lol!
Jodi, How fun to meet upi with the HOs! I could feel the love all the way over here :)
JL, I am in a "hibernating" mode too!!
Dianne, I think we should have a pj party somewhere in the south Pacific lol!!
HOdi How are you feeling now? I'm glad you were able to visit with the other HO's. Wish I could have joined you. If you do it again in warmer weather, maybe I will. :)
Mary I see you and I were typing at the same time. I got nothing done today except I did pack away all Xmas decorations that are not on the tree. I'll have to take the tree down tomorrow.
JL,I thought I had all my decorations down and put away a few days ago. Today I noticed a few things I missed like a ginger bread man hanging in the kitchen and a fake poinsettia plant lol! I keep my cards up longer. I really hate to take them down :(
Quiet here today. I got my tree down today and the ornaments packed away. We are instructed that the trees "should be" cut down if they are over 4 ft tall but I put my 5 1/2 footer out at the curb and am hoping they take it away.
Barb, I sure wish I knew the answer to some dry poop-n-pee area lol! My shoulders and neck are aching! We have shoveled over 20" of snow with more on the way. Now the wind chill is going to be a factor tomorrow! It has been years since we have had to deal with weather like this!
I just took a Motrin and heading to bed. Not looking forward to what I will see out my window tomorrow!
Hi all......Louis is still sick so our tree is still up. I'd start taking things down but the tubs are downstairs. I met my Sunday friend or breakfast and then came home and watched the games with a little napping in there.
Congratulations j/L for you 49ers win. On to Carolina game next. Feeling better today?
Jodi, sorry for your loss. I was twirling those tassels but I must have twirled the red one more than the green one. I know how disappointing it is to lose a first playoff. I think your quarterback needed better protection. Our game is next Sunday against San Diego, who already beat us at home once.
Mary, I guess that shoveling is what keeps you so young. I think this also may be another reason why we don't do pets here. Lol.
Barb...I'm am lucky to spend time with them. The oldest doesn't have much time for me so this weekend was great!! I wish I got to see the boys as often but that just doesn't seem to work out.
Jodi, I think it was u the other day that asked me if I saw my Tuesday lady this week. I did get to visit with her for about an hour and a half Tuesday. I hadn't seen her since before Christmas so it was nice to see her again.
That's about it from cold snowy colorado and I think the weather said tonight we are sending it your way, Mary. Sorry.
Barb Sometimes I keep my tree and everything up longer but I was ready to get it all cleaned up and garbage pick up is Monday morning. That was my main motivation.
Mary It's a lot of hard work to live there during the winter. Now I really get why my friend who lived in Lion's Head, Ontario, Canada, always spent winters in Florida.
Dianne Thanks for twirling that red tassel. You did well. I do feel better but now I notice I'm sneezing a lot. If it isn't one thing, it's the other....
Happy New Year ya bunch of Ho bags~
ReplyDeleteHappy New Years to you too, Tina. Your sentiment overwhelms me. Actually, brings me to tears.
ReplyDeleteHappy healthy 2014 to everyone. Anyone still up?
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year TINA!!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Waving a wing....I'm here!
ReplyDeleteFROM AREA 51:
ReplyDeleteBARB - I can't remember the last time I actually stayed up til Midnight for New Year's. I usually work New Year's Day. Did u make it?
SLIN - Love Bailey's!!! Sleep well pretty lady ♥
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - I dropped Jake off at the pool at 5. They had a free pool party for kids in 5-8 grade til 7. I went to my boss's party til I had to pick him up. He said it was lame. ReplyDeletep.s. TINA you're a HO bag :P
ReplyDeleteTina Same to ya! Nice to see your smiling face here again. You must have snuck in the back door because I was still in Area 51.
ReplyDeleteDianne Thanks for telling me the party had moved.
ReplyDeleteHOdi How are you feeling today? Somewhere around 3:30 a.m., everything that I ate or drank yesterday decided they weren't getting along in my body. It was an unpleasant 1/2 hour. ReplyDeleteBack at ya Tina and HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all.
ReplyDeleteJodi, I watched Carson Daly, Jane Lynch & company until the ball dropped in Time Square, then I went to sleep.
J/L, I hope you recover so you can go to the movie.
Dianne, Tomorrow Sharon and I are going to see Buddy. I am excited about it because I was a real Buddy Holly fan. Have you seen it?
Mary, I hope you have recovered from your gig last night. I bet it was great fun.
Barb Running a bit of a temperature so not going to the movie. My friends picked up the ticket receipt and said they will see about exchanging it for vouchers so we can all go another day when I can join them.
ReplyDeleteI bet "Buddy" is going to be good.
SLIN - Feeling about the same. Just have a nasty head cold that will have to run its course. Too bad you r missing the movie today, but best to stay home. I hope they will swap your tickets for vouchers. Feel better!!
ReplyDeleteBARB - I will have to look up the trailer for Buddy. He was ahead of his time and died far too young.
ReplyDeleteMARY - I hope your Spartans do better than the Badgers today. Watching the Rose Bowl right now. Sounds like u had a big night last night!!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Still waving a wing at u!! Smiling at the thought of u and your 2 tassels this Sunday!! Lol!!!
ReplyDeleteHOdi My friends were able to turn in the ticket receipt for vouchers so we will all go see the movie when I feel better.
ReplyDeleteI never got dressed today. Stayed on the couch and watched "Prisoners" with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. I thought it was quite good.
Jodi, Buddy is not a movie. It's a live musical on our Broadway Series. You may find something on You Tube.
ReplyDeleteHi....
ReplyDeleteNo Barb, Buddy hasn't come here yet. Our next show is Evita in a couple of weeks. We watched Carson last night too. I kept switching back to Ryan Secrest too. I just don't like Miley though. I didn't even know the others.

Mary, you must be still celebrating the new year.
SLIN - Sometimes those are the best days...staying in and watching a movie :)
ReplyDeleteBARB - I figured it was something like that. When I searched for Buddy trailer on YouTube, it just had a German movie. Enjoy the show!!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Its all in the timing. Keep practicing!! Were u able to see your Tuesday lady this week?
ReplyDeleteDianne We had planned to see "Wolf of Wall Street". We will go another day. "Evita" is one of my favorite stage productions of all time. Loved it and love the music.

DIANNE - We only got a dusting of snow yesterday. It is -13* as I type this. Monday they say we are suppose to have a high of -4*. OY!!!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - I have a feeling the weather and extreme cold are the reasons so many tickets are still available. I for one would NOT want to sit out there in frigid temps!!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I hope your team has their "longies" on!!
ReplyDeleteHeading back to bed for a couple more hours. Big day today. Major HO lunch date. I'll fill you in later :)
ReplyDelete45!!!
ReplyDeleteOk, I just checked the weather. I stand corrected these are the HIGHS predicted for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. -2, -10, -2....YIKES!!!
ReplyDeleteBrrr BUT JODI a true football fan knows no cold to watch their team play. :)
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Truth be told, I almost bought tickets, but I work Sunday!!
ReplyDeleteSee.I knew you were a true die hard fan
ReplyDeleteJust having one last cup of coffee before I meet GOLDIE at my store. We are meeting up with both Jennifers, LOIS, and TURTLE in Rockford for lunch. ReplyDeleteHave a great day :-D
HOdi Have fun at the Ho-down and say hello to everyone for me.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - We had a great lunch, conversation, and laughs!! Mama Zee tagged along, too!!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon, HOoters.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Just woke up from a nap. I worked 4 - noon today. It was the first night of now being open 24 hours. I think it went well. Just a few adjustments to make as far as how I will now do books. On the tail end of the crap that I've had and I feel like a bear, too ;)
ReplyDeleteBrr. Snowing sll day and cold.
ReplyDeleteI had a plan for today that went completely by the wayside. For the first time since I got home after surgery, I have been in my pj's all day. I have just felt puny all day plus, I have been grazing all day too. I can't seem to satisfy my hunger. Probably gained 5 lbs.

Barb....I hope you get better too. Food usually helps :)
ReplyDeleteBarb I have official re-gained every pound I lost and I now have brownies in the oven. I'm not feeling well and my temp and headache have returned. I wonder if I have the flu and perhaps it would be worse if I hadn't had the flu shot. Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteDianne I thought I was okay yesterday so ran errands, including grocery shopping and getting my work project turned in at the clinic. Today I seemed to be having a relapse; adding sneezing to my ailments. I'm hoping that I brownies I have in the oven will make me feel better.
ReplyDeleteBarb, I think pj s sounds like a good idea! I rarely go very long in them, but I may do that tomorrow. We are supposed to get a "Snow-mageddon"
ReplyDeletepossibly 12-14 inches of snow depending on which tv station you listen to lol!
ReplyDeleteMary I see you and I were typing at the same time. I got nothing done today except I did pack away all Xmas decorations that are not on the tree. I'll have to take the tree down tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteMary I took my cards down today, too, and am enjoying the tree all lit up for the last night. It's always so boring in here when the tree goes.
ReplyDeleteQuiet here today. I got my tree down today and the ornaments packed away. We are instructed that the trees "should be" cut down if they are over 4 ft tall but I put my 5 1/2 footer out at the curb and am hoping they take it away.
ReplyDeleteDianne, you're so lucky that you get to spend so much time with your granddaughters and they are so lucky to have you.
ReplyDeleteMary, You need to have an undercover place outside for your pups so you don't have to keep shoveling snow for them.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, Tradition dictates that we don't take decorations down until after The Epiphany which is today so they will come down tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteJodi, So with your store open 24/7 now there will be no opening/closing? Will that make it easier?
ReplyDeleteBarb, I sure wish I knew the answer to some dry poop-n-pee area lol! My shoulders and neck are aching! We have shoveled over 20" of snow with more on the way. Now the wind chill is going to be a factor tomorrow! It has been years since we have had to deal with weather like this!
ReplyDeleteI just took a Motrin and heading to bed. Not looking forward to what I will see out my window tomorrow!
Hi all......Louis is still sick so our tree is still up. I'd start taking things down but the tubs are downstairs. I met my Sunday friend or breakfast and then came home and watched the games with a little napping in there.

ReplyDeleteHOdi Sorry about your Packers but I was yelling encouragement at the TV for my 49ers. Oh, and a bad word, too, now and then. LOL
ReplyDelete
