Two little boys are going to the hospital the
next day for operations.
Theirs will be first on the schedule.
The older boy leans over and asks,
"What are you having done?"
The second boy says, "I'm getting my
tonsils out, and I'm afraid."
The first boy says, "You've got nothing to
worry about. I had that done when I was four.
They put you to sleep, and when you wake up, they give you lots of Jell-O and ice cream.
It's a breeze."
The second boy then asks, "What are you
going in for?"
The first boy says, "Circumcision."
"Whoa!" the smaller boy replies.
"Good luck, buddy. I had that done
when I was born.
Couldn't walk for a
year."

DIANNE - Bwahahaha! Thanks for the chuckle today!
Just got back from getting my hair cut. She also waxed my eye brows. She then asked me if I had ever waxed the inside of my nose. I usually just pluck those, but I was game. Holy cow! Amazing all the hair she got out of there!
Going to take a nap before Jake's pt appt.
Have a great afternoon :)
Ouch Jodi, I bet that hurt!
I am having a sciatica episode and it really pisses me off. I can hardly move without it hurting and I have so much to do. I have pain meds (Norco) but they haven't helped. I am trying peppermint oil which I know from past experience helps a lot, but it is very difficult to put it on my back by myself. :(
BARB - It truly didn't! I hope you can get some relief. Sciatica is the worst. Love u lady!
I was so sad to hear of CAROL'S Dad's passing today. Her stories about CiCi were always so cute. Remembering him with a smile tonight :)
DIANNE! I get to go see Cinderella on the 5th now! I was talking to my friends who are coming in to town that weekend, and they wanted to go. So Robert checked and there were still a few seats available. So excited!!!!!
So sorry to hear Carol lost her father :-(
Mary, I just read your post in A51 and I didn't realize this was a day of such mixed emotions for you. Sending you love and (((HUGS)).
10!
Dianne Thanks for the blog. That was cute.
HOdi I have never heard of waxing the inside of the nose. Yikes! I'm not sure that's such a good idea. We do have hair there for a reason.
Barb Oh, I'm sorry you are having sciatica problems. That is so debilitating. I hope it's getting better. Do you know if you did something specific that set it off?
Mary (((HUGS))) to you. I hope you were able to have a nice day to celebrate your anniversary.
Barbara in COviaWA Waving a wing at you.
So sad to hear of the passing of CiCi Piscitelli. Such wonderful stories that Carol would share about him. Brings a smile to my face to remember them.
Hi Everyone..Barb, how are you feeling? So sorry your in pain. Has the oil helped at all? You need one of Mary's cabana boys to help you out with that oil!! Seriously, how are you today? I hope better
Jodi, did you get to the movie? I see where Jake wanted you to take him on FB. Guess he wanted to skip school for the movie today.
Very sad about Carols dad. I see he was 90 years old. Wow, a good long life. I remember those cute stories too
Welcome home Barb in Co...sounds like you were busy and had fun. How did your daughter do being a model?
Mary, did you do anything special for your anniversary? Go out to dinner? Hope you had a nice day. Thought of you and sent you a hug.
Jl, so you think the wax deal would hurt? I do too. I get my eyebrows and lip done and about cry through that each time. It would be nice to not have to take care of nose hairs though.
Got my car washed again today until the next snow. Spend a lot in car washes this time of year. I can't stand to touch it when it's so dirty plus we get all that junk on it they put on the roads
That's about it from my end of the world. Hope everyone's doing great.
Waving a wing at SLIN and BARB IN COviaWA!
DIANNE - The boys didn't have school yesterday. Jake had gone to work with Paul on the wood pile, and Tim and I were going to the movie. Paul and Jake ended up meeting us there. I seriously can't remember the last time Paul went to a movie. The movie was really good. I ended up bawling like a baby a couple of times.
Jodi, I liked the movie too. See....Paul is going dancing and to movies...it's like a honeymoon
DIANNE - It is!! Better go clock in.
HOdi I just went back to the last blog to see what I missed. LOL @ Paul finding a chain saw ring tone for his new phone. How perfect is that?
Also, what movie did you see that made you cry?
Dianne Well, your potato soup was a hit so when are you going to make the goulash and the cake? I know you have to pace yourself because you don't want Louis to get used to this home cooking idea.
I'm glad I am of a generation where I was not expected to wax everything. at his age, I'm basically bald in all the areas of question, anyway. I rarely even have to pluck my eyebrows anymore.
Barb I hope you're doing okay and that your back is better now.
Barbara in COviaWA It's nice that your able to go back to WA so often to visit family and friends. Who takes care of the kitties or do you pack them up, too?
Mary I'm looking forward to seeing you in Palm Springs in a few weeks.
SLIN - American Sniper. The funeral /cemetery scenes. 21 gun salute and taps does it to me. Takes me back to Dale's funeral.
Dianne & J/L, My back is about the same today. The peppermint oil is helping a little but I can't really put it on properly by myself. You are right, it would help immensely if Mary would share her cabana boy!
Jodi, I love Bradley Cooper, but I am not really interested in seeing that movie. Too much controversy surrounding it. I'm glad you enjoyed it, though. I do want to see the one with Michael Keaton, Birdman I think it is called.
Mary, I hope you are able to celebrate your anniversary even though there are also sad memories connected with the date. ♥
OMG, I just got a package delivery from Fed Ex and the Post Office. I thought they delivered on Sunday only for the holidays.
When the doorbell rang I was afraid it was a friend whom I knew was going to be in my neighborhood today. I am not fit for company so I'm happy it was just the delivery.
I am watching 'Love it or List it' on HGTV and the remodels are usually amazing, however I always wonder what they did with all the stuff (crap) they had in the remodeled rooms, especially basements! Also, there are things they are not able to do because the budget won't allow, but they can spend $$ on new furniture and design techniques, that otherwise might have gone to structural redesign! Maybe I'm too critical! In most cases I would choose to list it!
Can you tell I'm bored!!!! ;)
Barb To the best of my knowledge, today is Saturday not Sunday. ;)
I just realized it is SATURDAY not Sunday. This is what happens when I don't feel well, I lose all touch with reality ! :P
JL, how many if you are going to Palm Springs? Who all is going? That will be fun and warm. Get your swimsuit ready.
Yup, it's Saturday In Denver too. It is easy to mix up days when you are retired. I do that sometimes too. Hope you get better soon, Barb. I alwYs think when the doorbell rings it's a killer or robber I less it's during the week at UPS time. I never answer the door. Now Louis is different...he answers it and would bring them in the house if I didn't remind him about the bad guys preying on old people. Can you tell I'm paranoid?
I like Bradley Cooper too and thought he did a good job in the movie. There sure is a lot of talk about the movie. I saw it before all the controversy came out. I'm Glad I did at that time.
Went to dinner with another couple tonight ..early. It was a nice visit.
BARB - I haven't read the book, so I guess I might feel differently. I don't know. I just know that this was a man that put his life on the line for our country, and now his wife and kids are living without him. Maybe I'm naive, but that ok.
I don't recall being invited to WHABBY'S party, but have been a little pre-occupied with Jake's surgery and work. I hope you all have fun!!
My boss invited me for a late lunch this afternoon. I had already eaten a salad after work, so I met her for a beer. I had tried another New Glarus Brewery beer over the holidays. Fat Squirrel and really liked it. You know how I love my hazelnut coffee. The beer is a little darker, but has a nutty taste. Shhhh...don't tell Spotted Cow ;)
I best get back to bed. Only a little over a couple of hours before I have to get up for work!!
Dianne Gee, that must be a little unnerving to think its a robber or killer whenever someone comes to the door. Do you have a peephole in the door? I'm not as bad as you but I can and do look out the window to see who's at the door before I open it unless I'm expecting someone.
I know that Barb, Lynn, and I are going to Palm Springs, as is Mary and Bev. I think Judy might be, also. I don't know if there are any other Owls going.
HOdi If you didn't get notice of Rob's retirement party it wouldn't have been because you aren't welcome. Since it's not a blog party but a retirement party, he may have thought only those Owls who came to the west coast blog-fest before would be interested in making the trip.
Jodi, I have wasn't invited either. We must be the misfits of the group. Must be our rowdiness!!! :)
SLIN - No worries....have fun!!
DIANNE - I'm sure that's what it is....WOOT WOOT!!!
Jodi, I understand Chris Kyle was a Navy Seal and I do respect the work that all the military do. I am just not interested in seeing the movie and then making a decision on which side of the controversy is right. They probably both have good points and I would rather hide my head in the sand about it. I know that probably isn't the best action to take, but that is were my head is right now!
Rob sent the notice of his retirement party by FB events. Maybe you were invited and you missed it, or maybe J/L is right and he limited it to the people who attended his last p arty.
My back is feeling a little better so I guess the peppermint oil got on at least some of the right places. It still hurts a lot if I move to quickly, so I've been shuffling along like I'm 100 years old.
J/L I hope you are you well. Lynn is sick and we both need to get well and stay that way before Feb. 12.
Dianne, I always look out the peep hole before I open the door to anyone, even if I am expecting someone. I guess I'm a little paranoid, too.
HOdi From what I gather, most of the people at Rob's retirement party will be from his usual social group. Us owls will probably being the only females there. Talk about a "gay night"..... LOL
Barb I'm glad your back is at least doing a little better. Here's hoping we're all happy and healthy by the 12th of February. That flu at Lynn's house keeps getting passed back and forth from one to the other. Not good.
Hi...hope you all get well soon. Knock on wood, Louis and I have stayed healthy. He had a cold for about three days and then it left.
Had a nice group today for the luncheon. It was fun.
Louis is watching Pro Bowl but I'm not too interested in it. I can barely get any enthusiasm for Super Bowl.
Thank goodness the nasty snow is missing us! I see it is heading straight for the East Coast! I don't envy the 3ft they they are supposed to get. I see they have already cancelled hundreds of flights for Monday!
We are stuck with the cold and wind!
I will still take that over the snow!
I have been battling the nasal drip. Usually the allergy meds work, but not working tonight :(
Turtle may be joining us. She has a friend in PS and would visit her too.
My sweet Doxie bit me a leeetle too close to my hoo ha! She broke skin and a small blood vessel. I went to pet her in the kitchen. I think she thought I was going to reach for whatever was dropped on the floor, before she did! It sure hurt like a mofo! Looks better today. She has had all her shots so I think I am safe!
Her and I are not best of friends right now. She sure looks sad. I may have to make nice with her lol!
One question. Who all besides me and Bev. have not met Kathy? We plan on having lunch with her and her hubby before we make the drive from Phoenix to PS. I can't wait to meet them!
Have a great week everyone!!
Dianne I can't get enthused about the Super Bowl, either. I guess I only really care when my team is involved.
Mary That will be great if Sue can go to PS. Barb, Lynn, and I met with Kathy and Randy in Sedona right after the PS Ho-fest. Such sweeties.
Mary, I don't think Sue has met Kathy.
My back was feeling much better yesterday, but when I got up this morning, I could barely walk. I'm going to make an appointment for a massage. That should help. When I go to the doc for this, they usually send me to physical therapy and that's what they do. I emailed my doc and asked him for a PT referral and he did send one, but the first appointment they have is three weeks away. I'm just gonna pay for one myself, but I did make the Kaiser appointment, too. I'm still using the peppermint oil.
Going to get to bed early (for me) tonight. I have a plumber scheduled for tomorrow morning @ 9am.
Good night and sweet dreams Hos.
Sorry your not feeling great, Barb. Maybe a massage is just what you need. That's crazy that pt us three weeks out. It seems like it takes longer and longer to get dr appts. I went for physical today at 11 and didn't eve. Get taken back until 11:40....irritates me. Then you lay there naked for awhile still waiting. Good thing I like my dr so much and she always apologizes but......
Hope you feel better tomorrow
Barb I'm sorry your back still isn't better. I hope the massage helps.
Dianne I prefer waiting in the doctor's waiting room to sitting on the edge of the exam table in the silly gown and waiting even longer. I know it really can't be helped.
Is anybody else going to be watching the Super Bowl? I'll be watching with a few friends. I will apologize now to my northwest friends but I just can't bring myself to root for the Seahawks.
J/L. I'll probably watch the game but mostly for the commercials. LOL
I went for a massage today hoping it would help with this pain in the A$$ since I can't get in to PT for three weeks. I scheduled another session for next week and maybe it will be all gone by Feb. 12.
Barb Maybe the massages will do the trick. It certainly can't hurt. I sure hope you're 100% soon. I know this is no fun. Are you putting heat or ice on it?
