A mother and her young son were flying Southwest Airlines from Kansas City to Chicago. The son turned from the window to his mother and asked, "If big dogs have baby dogs and big cats have baby cats, why don't big planes have baby planes?"
The mother said, "Well, maybe that's something you could ask the stewardess."
So the boy asked the stewardess, "If big dogs have baby dogs and big cats have baby cats, why don't big planes have baby planes?"
The stewardess responded, "Did your mother tell you to ask me?"
The boy admitted that this was the case. "Well, then, tell your mother that there are no baby planes because Southwest always pulls out on time. You can ask your mother to explain it to you."
Good morning, HOoters!
ReplyDeleteDianne Thanks for the blog today. That was cute.
It's a beautiful day here so far. We never know what we're going to get from one day to the next. Living on the coast is unpredictable. Some days it's clear and beautiful and some days it's overcast. Looking out the window, I see an airplane streaking across the blue sky. I wonder where they are going.
Funny stuff Dianne!
ReplyDeleteSorry I have been MIA. I have not been feeling well. I think it is a cold. Hard to tell that from sinus crap. Either way, it sucks! Prolly got it from Hodi pooping from her branch to mine! My son started a new job a few weeks ago and one of the employees gifted it to him and of course re-gifted to me!!
I had Jim light the sauna so I could maybe loosen the crap up!
I am having about 12 for Easter dinner, so I hope I can shake this dam thing!
JLM you are looking mighty fine up there on your branch...please no pooping :)
I wish it was me flying up there!
Mary Did the sauna help? I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I hope you are perkier for all those folks you are having over on Easter. Oh, and I promise not to poop on you. LOL
ReplyDeleteI am feeling better today, still having a itchy throat and a bit of mocos (Spanish for snots).
ReplyDeleteJodi, I hope you are doing better too!
I am watching The Wizard of Oz. I never tire of seeing it!
Hi..some sick little owls. JL, I think we are the only well ones right now...knock on wood. I haven't been sick all winter so hope it stays that way.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Jodi and MARY that you are sniffing and coughing and just feeling bad. Mary, it doesn't sound fun to not feel good and have big group for a dinner. What are you fixing? Are others helping?
Barb, oh the wait and see what to do while you are in pain, I can't stand that time just isn't as important to the Drs as it is to the patient. Have they given you something for some pain relief? Maybe you will. Feel,a little better by Sunday. I hope so.
We saw Motown the musical last night at the theater. It is as a really good show. It had a nice story too about how Motown got started and the history. Sometimes you forgot you weren't listening to the real artists. Fun
Today sucked...ready for my tale of woe? We were switching over from one phone company to another last week just for land line. It is rnded up deleting our wifi and they are making us sign up like we've never been a customer for the last 12 years. They can't come do it until Tuesday and now a hookup fee. Plus .louis can't work without Internet one company blames the other and the new phones didn't work. I spent four hours with AT&T today trying to get it straightened out. Three new phones later at 6:30 pm it finally started working...the phone not Internet. Today was the one week late delivery of our new refrig. Got up early and we emptied the whole thing out, cleaned it and then they delivered a damaged one with a hole in the side. Back went the food now maybe Monday. Stupid. I had new locks installed but locksmith forgot the locks and had to go to,store and buy them to install. I bought Louis two chili dogs for lunch from Sonic and when I got home and looked....they forgot the chili and cheese. It's been a long, tiring non productive day.
Dianne Gee, you sure had one of those days where nothing goes right, didn't you? Some days it doesn't pay to get up in the morning. I bet Louis is sure unhappy about the internet problem. This is the second time you've emptied out the refrigerator. Hopefully, the third time will be a charm like the saying goes.
ReplyDeleteI hope nobody spreads their germs to us.
Mary I'm glad the sauna helped a bit. I can't do saunas. I don't really sweat so I don't have a natural cooling system. When the heat goes up my face just gets redder and redder. If it's too hot, I start feeling ill.
ReplyDeleteGee, wasn't that interest? NOT! LOL
HOdi I hope you feel better soon. As much as you do, you don't have time to be sick.
ReplyDeleteBarb Where are you? Hiding Easter eggs?
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter, HOoters! I hope everyone is having a good day. It has been raining here. That makes it a good day here. I will be having a quiet little day with my dog. I will make a turkey breast and all the fixin's for myself. I'll probably watch some movies. I watched "Wild" the other day and it was very good as was the book. I wish I had that kind of gumption.
ReplyDeleteHappy late Easter. . Hope your turkey dinner turned out good. We went up in the mountains with family for lunch and then took a little ride. The weather was so beautiful. Snow coming again on Thursday.
ReplyDeleteWe came home and worked together on two items from to do list for two years and got them done. It only took about a total of an hours time!! We're feeling accomplished. Next is hoping the refrigerator is delivered ..not damaged tomorrow
Hope everyone is feeling better and had a good day.
I posted a comment yesterday, but somehow it showed up in Area 51. I'm not sure why, except I am on drugs! They don't do much for the pain, but they make me loopy and put me to sleep. I hope you all had a nice Easter. It's 4am and I am gonna try to get some sleep. BBL
ReplyDeleteDianne Your brother mentioned he'd be meeting you and Louis in the mountains yesterday. This was after we had been sparring over something, of course. We were able to close it down with "Happy Easter" so that was nice. My dinner turned out well but it sure created a lot of dirty pots and pans. I should have done something simpler. It sounds like you had a lovely day. Doesn't it feel good to get things checked off the "to do" list? I bet you were surprised at how little time it actually took to get those two things marked off.
ReplyDeleteBarb I'm sorry you are still going through this with the back and leg pain. Are they going to set you up with therapy to see if that helps?
ReplyDeleteI downloaded the first show of "The Americans" yesterday and watched it. Wow, what a good show! I now will have to binge watch that like I did with Downton Abbey. LOL
HOdi Where are you? I hope you had a nice Easter.
ReplyDeleteBarb in COviaWA Are you out of town for the holiday?
ReplyDeleteJ/L, I have an appointment with the neurosurgeon on Thursday to discuss my options for treatment. I don't know what he will tell me, but I suspect they will start off with the lowest cost treatment. I know they sometimes start with steroid shots, but I had those for my knees and still had to have surgery. The shots only prolonged my misery until they finally decided surgery was needed. I don't want to have to go through that again, but I may not be able to avoid it.
ReplyDeleteBarb, so sorry you are going through so much!! Hang in there! I wish I was closer. I would baby you alot! :)
ReplyDeleteI wound up having 11 for Easter dinner.I did all the cooking. My Niece Raquel brought deviled eggs, cookies, and 2 pies. That was a big help. My sister brought a banana cake, so desert was covered, which was a big help! I was so happy that it didn't rain like they predicted! Everyone was able to sit out on our new deck, some in the living room and a few singing Karaoke in the family room in the basement.
Today I did the laundry and took a nice walk. My back acted up again tonight, so I took another Motrin 800. It knocked me out for a couple of hours. Now I am wide awake!
Dianne, I see you finally got your new frig! It's hard to believe how some company's stay in business! Your "tale of woe" sounds more like a horror story especially with the internet crap!
My Niece Jaimie was over Sunday. We have decided we need a short vaca next month so looking into flying to Nice France, going to the French Riviera and taking a long, relaxing, scenic train ride.
Hodi, I slept through most of the game. From what Jim told me, it was a close game and pretty intense!
JL, I sure am glad I have a dishwasher because I had a lot of pots and pans too, not to mention all the silverware and dishes! I don't know how I went so many years without one!
Mary Your plans for your next vaca sound great! I wish I could do that.
ReplyDeleteI also don't know how I got along without a dishwasher for so many years....all the years that my kids were growing up. I've only had mine for about 10 years. It's my favorite appliance.
Barb I will try to remember to check in with you on Thursday to see what the doc says. Unfortunately, my mind is like a sieve and I don't remember things like I used to.
ReplyDeleteI will check in after my doctor appointment. Sharon is going to go with me so there will be another set of ears to hear what he says. I probably should take notes, 'cause my memory isn't good normally and with the pain meds it's even worse!
ReplyDeleteBarb I'm glad you have Sharon going with you to the appointment. Yes, notes will be good. When my friend took me to the ER when I broke my arm, she whipped out her notepad and pen as soon as the doctor started talking to me. It probably wasn't necessary in that situation, but that's what she's used to doing when she accompanies her husband to his medical appointments.
ReplyDeleteHi..barb, I'm sad that you're in so much pain. I agree with you about those shots. They didn't help my knees either. I hope the dr starts with the best thing rather than the lowest price one. Grr
ReplyDeleteWent to lunch with Barb Co today. Tomorrow is her birthday so we went for alittle Italian food and ice cream. Hadn't seen her for awhile so lots to catch up on. Tonight my granddaughter and I are going to dinner. Kayla is busy with tryouts for cheer for next year. We have our fingers crossed. She'd like varsity this year. She's bern taking private lessons for stunting.
My refrig looks nice and yes Mary, it was a horror story that went on and on. Internet guy here today...Finally.
Mary, sounds like you had s nice weekend. I'd love to go on that trip with you. Sounds fun.
Jodi, where are you? Everything okay?
It's a quiet day in the nest today. I don't have too much going on, either. I did go get my hair cut and dyed, or as Dianne likes to say, I got "highlights". LOL
ReplyDeleteDinner tonight will be leftovers from my Easter turkey dinner. Can't get easier than that.
25
ReplyDeleteToday I had lunch with my old co workers. The snow birds are back so we had most of the gang there.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow I go for my yearly eye exam, and Fri Zoie has a grooming appointment the same time I will be at the salon. Us girls need to get our pretty on lol!!
I still have to get a mani/pedi before I fly to Vegas.
Waving at all the nesters :)
When r u going to Vegas? I don't think you had told us about that trip. You are a busy traveler. France next.
ReplyDeleteWe finally got the new curtains hung in the bedroom. They look so nice and so much more modern then the ones I took down. Tomorrow is cleaning gal and she will help put new bedskirt on, flip mattress, new blanket and quilt. It's going to look so pretty. I'm still getting use to the new refrig as it seems so much bigger than the other side by side....so much actual refrig room.
Went to breakfast this morning and came home and cleaned all my dresser drawers and shelves in closet.... I'm on a roll. Yesterday I cleaned kitchen drawers.
Tomorrow my exciting life consists of getting a blood test, like much with a friend and mamogram.
Where the heck is Jodi? I'd better go check on her.
Mary When do you go to Vegas? I wish I was going somewhere. I don't have any trips planned and that's kind of depressing.
ReplyDeleteDianne Boy, you have really been on a roll, haven't you? You are really into the spring cleaning. I should follow your lead and start changing things up around here. My bedroom has looked the same forever, it seems. I would definitely need help changing the bed skirt. I have a king size bed and it's a Tempurpedic. It's very heavy.
ReplyDeleteGood morning HOoters!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Cute blog....evidently Southwest uses the rhythm method ;)
Sorry I've yet again gone missing, but it's been a little nutty here. Last Thursday I took Jake to our clinic, because according to his surgeon, "I'm not a back dr". The dr ordered an MRI which showed that Jake's drop foot problem is not in his back. They called on Friday and we set up an EMG for Monday. They found that his paroneal nerve is blocked on the outside of the knee that he had surgery on. The next step will be to have it imaged to figure out what is blocking the nerve. We have yet to hear back when this will take place. Jake has a follow up appt a week from Friday with a neurologist and I thought maybe they would've wanted to have it imaged before then, but maybe I am wrong. So frustrating!!!
ReplyDeleteLast week I felt like I had something coming on, so I started my emergen-C and green tea regime in earnest. By the time we got home from Jake's MRI, my throat was so swollen I could hardly swallow. I decided to go to urgent care. They did a rapid strep test that turned out negative, but he did prescribe a cough medicine in pill form, and told me to take alternately tylenol and ibuprofen every 3 hours for the pain. I had Friday off and slept most of the day. I got a call at 5 pm that my culture had come back positive for strep, so Paul picked up my amoxocillin on the way home. I did work the weekend, but obviously wasn't 100%. When I'm not at work I've been sleeping a lot. My throat and cough are so much better, but I'm still so run down.
ReplyDeleteI hope you all had a Blessed Easter. We had dinner at my in-laws. I literally fell asleep at the table when they were cleaning up.
ReplyDeleteMARY - I did not poop down to your branch!! I hope you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - You said a mouthful....still worked and took Jake to his appointments. The only one that is complaining is my hubby. Poor guy hasn't gotten any lovin' lately ;)
ReplyDeleteBARB - I hope your appointment goes well today!!
ReplyDeleteStorming like a mofo here. I hope the lightening settles down before I have to hop into the shower!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day HOoters ♥
HOdi I feel so bad for you right now. You sure have a lot on your plate and to keep working the way you do even when you aren't over being sick.....well, I hope you don't end up getting worse instead of better. I wish you'd take time off until you really are 100%. Sending hugs to you but don't give me your germs!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Thanks. I was able to sneak out of work an hour and a half early today. I slept for 2 hours and feel like I could sleep another 10.
ReplyDelete40!!!
ReplyDeleteHodi, I hope you get rested up! I have had to get up early all week, and same tomorrow. I feel like I could nod off any time lol! I would take a nap, but then I would be up all night :(,
ReplyDeleteI was sure I mentioned my flying to Vegas! Anyhoo! Jim is driving by himself to see his son and family in Montana for a few days, then driving to Vegas where I will meet up with him and ride back, stopping at my Brother's in New Mexico.
With my son back to work, we hate to leave Zoie alone during the day too long. There has always been someone here to let her out. Actually I hate riding in the car that far with my bad knee, not to mention Jim's smoking?
Mary, r u coming through Denver so we can meet u for a meal? I'd love to see you and meet Jim. Sounds like a fun trip except riding in the car with a smoker!!!
ReplyDeleteJodi, I'm glad you got off early today but I too wish u could take a day just to rest. You are a busy gal plus raising a family. Take care of yourself, please. We worry about you.
Barb, what happened at dr today? Anxious to hear what they said to help you.
JL, why don't you and Barb come out for a few days this summer? I don't have a room for you but you could stay close and I could show you all around and we could go gambling. Think about it. I still wish you'd hop on the cruise ship in May.
Had all my medical things done today. That mammogram took like 5 minutes. In and out. The hardest part is the long walk but Louis came and pushed me in a chair...little sweetie. Then the blood girl found my vein first stick... Very surprising.
Best Buy gave us a $150 credit today for all the refrigerator trouble we had these last two weeks.
I went to Olive Garden for lunch for the buy one get one to take home special. We are good my there with my daughter and boyfriend again tomorrow night. We are celebrating her big promotion she received at work yesterday.
Yes Barb, what happened at Dr???
ReplyDeleteDianne, I'm not sure which way we are coming back. Jim says it all depends on the weather, seeing that it will be tornado season! We will prolly skirt around Denver from Santa Fe.
I would have hopped on your cruise if you were going south lol!
Mary, we dont have tornados here. P s. Come with JL and Barb to visit
ReplyDeleteDianne Like I said before, my brain is like a sieve. I do remember which cruise line you will be on and your destination but I don't remember the exact date or out of which port. I don't think I could do it anyway, as I would want a balcony cabin and there is no one to share costs with me.
ReplyDeleteDianne, I was referring to our decision to go back the northern or southern route. You know how Kansas can be!
ReplyDeleteMary,, no Kansas or you will be over the rainbow!!
ReplyDeleteWe are leaving from Vancouver on May 15 for a week we come back to Seward, Alaska. I wish you are Mary would get a room. Last year it as 70 on trip but of course, you can't count on it.
My granddaughter tried out for cheer and did not get Vardity. She will be in Jr Varisity again but is bummed. Parents just spent $1800 on gym lessons to have all the stunts down. Makes me hurt for her. She's ne working on it so hard
Dianne, sorry about your niece! It can be quite a let down at that tender age!
ReplyDeleteMay 15 is about the time we are going to France & Italy. Getting tickets in a few days. Someday I will cruise when you do :)
Dianne I'm sorry that your granddaughter didn't make varsity but she'll be a star on the jr. varsity team. In my day there was no extreme stunts. Those look scary and dangerous.
ReplyDeleteMary I sure envy you your trip. It's great that you have someone who can go do these things with you.
ReplyDeleteDianne, oops, I said Niece! I knew it was your Gr Daughter!
ReplyDeleteJustlin, Yes, I love that I have a great travel companion, especially one that speaks French!
We just finalized out trip tonight. Instead of h otels we are renting B & Bs that are near the sea and one has a balcony overlooking it. I prolly should tell Jim soon lol!
Hello HOoters.
ReplyDeleteI went to the back doc on Thursday and I slept a lot on Friday and Saturday. I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to sleep at night either day, but I only had trouble staying awake. Anyway, I was awake most of today and it is 11:45 pm and I am still awake.
The doc really didn't do anything except give me all the options which I already knew. I can take the shots, which didn't help me when my knees were bad, physical therapy, acupuncture or more drugs, none of which is a permanent fix. So I am considering surgery. I sent him an email tonight asking more questions about the surgery and hopefully he will answer right away. I will keep you posted.
