This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
HOdi I agree that Taylor is very talented. And I do like some rap music, just couldn't get into it with this particular song.
I actually went clothes shopping which I hate to do. Took an armload of stuff into the dressing room, didn't like anything that I tried on, went home. Total waste of time. This is why I hate shopping.
SLIN - I did the same thing the other day. Starting to look for a dress for Angie's wedding in Kauai. Ugh is all I have to say. Thinking of going back to the shop I got that red aloha print dress in Waikiki. Love the cut and how it fits.
Took a drive today up to the Dells. Alex and Dustin are camping and I made a firewood delivery. We took a lovely hike and then had a couple beers around the campfire. Made it home in time for Paul and I to have a date night. Having dinner at Mulligan's and then heading to Brat Fest in Madison. We're going to the Charlie Daniels Band concert.
Hellooooo. I got home about an hour ago. We all had a good time and even though we didn't do anything strenuous, I'm tried. I had a hard time staying awake on the ride home, but I promised Claire I would stay awake to keep her company on the drive. We left Solvang about 8:00, stopped to eat about noon, and two more times to pee and stretch and got to Sac about 4:30. Not too much traffic for a holiday weekend.
I'm back. Got home after 2am from airport last night. We were disembarking at 7am...very long day. Graduation party today so we are beat!! I ha net even opened my suitcase to unpack. I'm worlds worse packer and unpacker.
We had a really nice time and perfect weather. We never need a jacket. We also booked another cruise for this time next year to Boston and Bermuda on the ship Allure. It's their second largest, newest ship.
Barb, glad you had a nice trip. Hope you were feeling decent on it. Glad you are home safely.
Jodi and JL ....looks like the two of you kept the nest up and. Ice and tidy while we were gone. Jody, how was that concert? I'll bet good.
I was asleep every night by midnight on cruise and read a book. A acing what you'll do without Internet.
DIANNE - Sounds like a beautiful trip! Not sure i would like the no Internet thing, though. Did Louis take pics? I would love to see them! The concert was wonderful! I googled Charlie Daniels on the way home, and he is 78 years old. Holy crap!
Dianne I'm glad you had a good time on your cruise. You sure don't waste any time booking your next one, do you? I would like to spend more time in Boston and I've never been to Bermuda.
Dianne, welcome home! I'm glad you had a nice time. We had beautiful weather in Solvang. Some of the girls went walking every morning. We were next to a golf course and there was a walking trail through part of it. They enjoyed it very much. I stayed in the condo the whole time and even took a couple naps. The pain melds Make me sleepy. As of Tuesday, I will be off all pain melds until the surgery. Chad is coming to Sac on June 1st so he can help me with my "honey do" list. I have stuff to donate to WEAVE and some other things, like replacing the light bulbs in the kitchen. Plus he said he wanted to spend some time with his mommy. I swear, this is not the same kid that used to give his Dad and me such a hard time, but I like it!
Barb I'm so glad you had a nice time with your friends. Did you guys cook in the condo or go out for meals? That's so nice that your son is coming on the first. This is why you put up with his shenanigans when he was a kid. LOL
It's been totally gloomy and damp here all day. I can't seem to warm up.
J/L, each of us brought food and we cooked in the condo. Claire made carnitas and she shopped for me and I made corned beef and cabbage. Pat's husband is Italian and quite a chef, so he made a tortellini dish to send with Pat. Betsy brought the most delish ham and potato salad and Pam brought stuff for all our breakfasts. We had enough left overs to fill in all the rest of the meals, so we were set!
SLIN - It rained most of the day on Sunday. Started off pretty gloomy here on Monday, but turned into a gorgeous day! Still haven't played in the dirt, but hoping to this week!
BARB - How did your pre-op labs go? When it was pouring out on Sunday I noticed our gutters were full, so I asked Paul to clear them while I was at work yesterday and he and Jake did!! They then went out and cut and wrapped wood. Tim and Sam were both working, so I had a nice quiet afternoon to myself!
Hi...yes Jodi, I'm finally unpacked. Now I just have a lot of laundry to do but haven been home long enough to get it done.
We are finally seeing som sun today. The weekend was gloomy and rainy. It's finally 73 here today. I received a notice from my life insurance company that my monthly premium is going from $58/mo to $256/ mo. I thought it was an error...nope, Anniversary for policy date do increased. I said how can a fixed income person do that kind of a jump? I have to do some investigating on what my options are now.
Barb, how did your appt go? Won't be long now until you are feeling good again.
Jodi, nice to have a quiet afternoon, isn't it? I have too many of them some days. Never thought when I was working with kids I'd ever hear myself say that out loud.
Mary, is Jim sick? I just happened to,see it on FB. Hope he's better today.
DIANNE - That seems like an unfair jump! Did they give you an explanation why? Rather blustery here today, but comfortable enough to get a walk in before I hunker down for the night.
I went for my pre-op labs and x-ray on Sunday and my pre-op appointment with the anesthesiologist is tomorrow afternoon. I have to stop all pain meds today, so I'm probably gonna be a grouchy pants until the surgery!
Dianne I feel your pain. It really sucks when your expenses suddenly increase when you aren't expecting it. That really is a big difference. Are they going to keep doing that every year from now on? Hope you find an acceptable alternative.
Barb I hope the pain isn't too horrible while you wait for your surgery. Got wine? I guess you don't want to become a wino, either. LOL Is there anything over-the-counter that you are allowed to take?
HOdi I always chuckle at the "hoist and rinse". I got a walk in yesterday when I took the dog out but not today. Today I did manage to go exercise at Curves, though. Tomorrow the dog will get a good run with her friends.
Mary Are you still in the kitchen cooking for the men folk? I saw on FB that Jim was not feeling well. I hope all is okay. So thankful you had help with the karaoke gig.
Hi, HOoters! Another gray and cool day here. I took care of some financial business today, had lunch out, and also got my nails done. I didn't sleep well last night at all and I am very tired. I have some chicken and veggies to cook for dinner but I'm too tired to do it. I think I will go to a Chinese place that has the best pot stickers and get pot stickers and some won ton soup to go.
SLIN - Chinese sounds great!! I had an early supper on the patio where Tim works. He treated me to dinner (I bought my beers). Tried their Salmon Bites. Yummy! It was a gorgeous afternoon to soak up some sun and spend some time with my boy!
Tomorrow is my "Friday" since I work the weekend. Friday I have an early appointment to give a double red donation at the Red Cross. They've been after me for a couple months to give. I'm finally making the time.
HOdi The pot stickers and won ton soup were great but now I'm overly full. It's nice to have a son in the restaurant business. Good for him for treating you to dinner.
Hi..How are you all doing? Barb, are you coping? I feel bad for you but good thing you do like wine. Hope it's not too bad for you.
Jodi, enjoy your day off. It's nice that you are able and willing to give blood. I doubt they could find my veins. Any other plans for the day? Nice you get treated to dinner and another day you get flowers..keep those kids working!!!
JL, I had some Chinese yesterday but it was too much for lunch. I brought most home for Louis. I think next time I'll get egg drop soup, egg roll and a couple wontons. I like those best anyway.
Tonight we went to dinner with my brother and SIL as they are leaving to go see her mom in Texas for three weeks. They had some old free dinner coupons at a great chicken place and they let us use all four of them. It was as a family style place.
Went to WW today and gained six pounds on my cruise. Louis gained five. Guess dinner tonight didn't help much either.
Dianne I hope your brother and SIL aren't going anywhere near where they are having so much trouble with flooding. What I have seen of it on the news is just horrible.
You didn't expect to get away with going on a cruise without gaining weight, did you? Even though I feel like I do a lot of walking just getting around on the ship and going on excursions, I still come home a little heavier than when I left.
DIANNE - I may take in a movie after giving blood. Torn between Pitch Perfect 2 and Aloha. I hope Bruce doesn't have to paddle around in Texas! I have a friend that moved there just last year and the video he shot near his house is crazy!!
Hi all....Jodi, did you end up going to the movie? I noticed you were out sampling other beers so maybe no movie. :)
Hey grouchy pants (you said it not me) ....how are you? Are you grouchy? Is the pain bad? Thinking about you. Is your son there yet?
I went to jeweler today to look at cast of my moms ring that's being done for me. I changed a few things. I have bought it looked too much like a wedding ring. It's going to,be really pretty when it's done.
JL, my brother is driving near those floods so they will have to maybe change routes. My cousins and friend don't have any flooding but going into downtown Houston is really bad. They are going for three weeks. My SIL goes every year but this time Bruce decided to go. I think it will be good for him. He has bad health problems and doesn't like to travel. He wanted to drive straight through...16 hours..but I think we've all convinced him it's too dangerous and he needs to get off those legs overnight. Hope it works.
I am not doing too badly without pain meds. Thanks for the help, Jodi. I am really trying not to grouch at people. The doc told me I can take Tylenol, but I have to be careful not to take too much. It doesn't help a lot, but I'll take whatever I can. Chad said he is prepared. He will be here Monday.
Just got back from seeing Aloha. Great movie!! I then stopped out at DSW. I've been looking for a new pair of brown sandals so I thought I'd check them out. I walked in and out in literally 5 minutes. They had a display of White Mountain sandals right at the door. Found what I wanted and BAM!!! I love my Birkies, but they are rather pricey. The White Mountain ones are very similar and kind of cover and don't cut where my right bunion has gotten worse. And the best part, they were only $30!!! SCORE!
Hi...Things are bright and sunny here today and in the high 70's. Hung out at home all day and then used a Groupon for dinner at a steak place with my friend Barbara. It was so good and I brought half of it home. We shared a vanilla salted Carmel cake and ice cream for dessert. Boy, was it good. I was overly full. Louis enjoyed pizza at home with TV.
I made reservations for our first night on the road at the end of the month in Hays, Ks. It was as their last king room available at the Fairfield Inn. We are going to take two days to get to Nashville. We are in no hurry for once.
JL, glad you finally found something new. Do you ever buy online? I do that a lot.
Well, no overnight for my brother. They left at 3:30AM today and arrived and in Houston at 9:30 our time. They said no rain at all. I don't like to drive that many hours. I have to stretch.
I love to watch people in airports and it was fun on the cruise too. I like to look how couples match up.
Barb, I'm glad you are done my okay. It will be nice Monday when your son arrives. How long is he going to stay?
Well Jodi. I guess you're back to work, right?
My daughter, nephew and I are going to see Neil Diamond tomorrow night. We've had the tickets for a long time. I've seen him a couple of times with my kids over the years but my nephew really wanted to go. Guess I'll be singing tomorrow night ...Cracklin' Rosie!!
Dianne, I saw Neil Diamond in the 70's after he had taken a long break. His first stop on his tour was Sac and I loved him. Then I saw him again in the late 80's and he was just OK. His voice hasn't aged well. I still love all the old songs, tho.
Chad is going to stay for as long as I need him, he said. He has 3 weeks of PTO and then he can use family medical leave.
J/L, I do love to people watch! I grew up in Los Angeles and in high school my friends and I would go to Hollywood and sit at the bus stop on Hollywood & Vine and watch the people. We would make up stories about why they were there or what they were doing. It was fun and cheap entertainment. Once in a while we even saw some celebrities.
Dianne Have fun at the Neil Diamond concert. I saw him perform once and enjoyed myself immensely. I tried buying online years ago but I found that I ended up sending most things back and it became a hassle. It would be great if I knew exactly how a certain brand was going to fit me.
Barb That's great that Chad has so much time available so he can be there for you. I had a hard time sleeping last night because my "good hip" was acting up. Too bad we didn't come equipped with spare parts. LOL
JL, I order from a store called Catherines a lot. It is a local store too so I can take my returns back to store. Actually, it's a national store. I do have to ship back to other stores once In awhile. I don't love shopping anymore since I can't walk far and I hate everything on me. If I could lose that 100 pounds I always talk about, I might love shopping. I have a feeling that's not going to happen.
Barb, that is really nice your son can get all that time off. What a great help he will be to you and better than rehab! It will be nice for you to spend time with him too. Looks like you raised those boys right!!!
I'm kind of looking forward to Neil tonight. He's not my favorite but again, I enjoy spending time with Tammy and my nephew. We are going to dinner first at the venue.
I once again I have not done much today. I slept until 11 and have done a few small things that have been waiting to get done. At least that way I don't feel like I'm totally lazy.
I messaged Mary that we were missing her. She said she's been busy but will check in and thanked me for nagging her. I wonder why Louis never thanks me for nagging?
Jodi, if you are still hoisting and rinsing, you must be drowning by now.
J/L How is Ursula doing? I shop at QVC a lot because I know what will fit me in the Denim & Co. and Susan Graver lines. I occasionally buy Liz Claiborn clothes at QVC, too. I have never tried Catherine's online, but I have bought clothes in the store we have here many times. I may look at what they have online. Often, online stores will have a bigger selection than the local store. Do you have a good selection of stores in your small town or do you have to go to the big city?
Dianne LOL @ nagging Mary. Nagging is an art. I'm surprised that Louis doesn't recognize that. LOL I have never shopped at Catherine's. I don't think they have a store around here.
Barb I don't go into San Francisco but I do have to go out of town to shop. There's one small Ross Store in Pacifica and that's it. I usually have to go to Daly City, Colma, or San Bruno for clothes shopping. I used to go to San Mateo when I worked there but I find it's too much trouble now. LOL I am so freakin' lazy!
Here I am, checking in! I just caught up with this blog's comments.
Barb, I forgot when your surgery is and what you were having done. I hope you can get some sleep and are comfortable!
Jlin, lol @ "still cooking" I have had to make a few trips to the gross-ery store to replenish the frig and pantry. When I got back from my trip I told Jim to leave all my luggage in the garage so I could shake out any "critters" that may have hitchhiked in there! I make him do that when he comes back from visiting his family "up north". Once he brought back a bat and another time a tick!
Dianne, you can nag at me anytime! lol! Tell Louis I think you are a cute nagger :)
Hodi, Crazy weather here in Mich. Air-conditioning one day and heat the next! Mostly we just shut the house up and turn the heat on in the bathroom for showers.
My trip was awesome! So much beauty on the Riviera! I too love people watching, but on this trip I did a lot of "pic-pocker watching! Italy was the worst! A few tourists we talked to said they had their walets stolen. My Niece left her camera on the train and had her non working cell phone stolen on the beach when she fell asleep! Why she had it on her is beyond me! Her and I had "words" a couple of times! I will talk about that a a later time. Let's just suffice it to say that I will not be taking her on any future trips anywhere! Time to check in on FB later....
Mary There you are!!! A bat???? How the hell did Jim bring a bat back in his luggage? That is just plain bizarre. I'm sorry you and your niece had cross words. You can take me next time. :)
Hi Mary. I was thinking the same as J/L about the bat! I'll volunteer to go with you if J/L can't make it. From the pics you posted, it looks like you had a fun time.
Jim took a back pack. It had a few side pockets. Jim used to stay at his families old homestead which is basically a two story one room house. All but one of 7 were born there. It is no longer in use. It used to have lots of critters incl bats! One must have crawled into his bag. Jim brought the bag home with the hitch hiker. One night while watching tv in bed I saw something dive bombing the tv! We tried everything to catch it including leaving widows open for it to fly out, with no luck. One morning I got a bright idea lol! I knew it had to be sleeping during the day. Sure enough, there it was hanging upside down behind the sliding glass doors/curtains, sleeping! We opened the door and swatted it out to the patio. A very groggy bat crawled off, who knows where lol!! and, that is why he now leaves his stuff in the garage when he comes home!
enes wow that is scary about that bat, Mary. I have a real fright of things in the house that don't belong there. Luckily, In Denver we don't have many bugs around. I wouldn't want to live where those big roaches live either. Louis's daughter is a Vet Tech and she was telling us this weekend she had to put a pet rat to sleep because it had a big tumor. Are you kidding ....a pet gross rat. Nope, not for me. JL, did you see things like that at work too? I don't think I'm cut out for that job.
Mary, I would pay my own way unless you really wanted to treat me and then I'd be real sweet!!!
Barb, did your son get there today? Did you give him his "to do" list yet?
Well, the concert last night was really good. Neil sang for two hours without an intermission. He does pretty darn good singing and dancing around for that long at 74. He seems very humble. It sure brought lots of memories from over the years. I loved singing
Sweet Caroline, etc. I really enjoy concerts and our handicap seats are always good without people standing up in front of us. We go to dinner at a place in the venue and then right into the place from there. It was also fun to go with Tammy and my nephew. The audience was about my age!!
Dianne I'm glad you enjoyed the concert. I love his songs and they seem to be timeless. Did your nephew enjoy it?
My daughter had a pet rat when she was a teenager. It was really cute. Honest. And yes, we saw rats, snakes, and all sorts of things at the animal hospital. Two of the vets also saw exotic animals so we also had the occasional monitor lizard, porcupine, lynx, fox, bob cat, etc. Before I worked there, they had occasion to treat a bear. They had a photo of it sitting in the waiting room.
LMAO @ bear sitting in the waiting room!! Funny visual!!
Dianne,One thing I hate about concerts where many are young, is that they tend to stand up the whole night! Hard on someone short like me! I have tickets to see Tim Mc Graw next month. I tried to get seats off to the side and as close to the front as possible!
DIANNE, Yesterday was quite a day. I went to the cardio doc for another EKG because the ones I took last week were not good. My appt. was at 9:00 and Chad's plane left at 9:00. Monday's EKG was worse than the prior ones and the doc said I needed a pacemaker and we need to do it today. Chad was already in the air so I texted him and told him to take the shuttle to Kaiser after he landed. It was rather hectic for him, but he and Dean finally got to the hospital about 10 minutes before I got out of surgery. I only had to stay in the hospital overnight. All went well and my back surgery is still scheduled for next Tuesday. Yayyy!
SLIN - I'm loving my sandals! So comfortable. I'm also just starting to look for a dress for Angie's wedding. Found a couple I like at JCPenney and one at Dress Barn. Taking the wait and see approach.
It's been a crazy few days. Work was very busy this last weekend. I also had to get new tires put on the Pimpala on Sunday. The right front tire blew Friday night and the other 3 were not much better. Come to find out one of my rims was cracked. Thankfully they were able to seal it, so for now I don't need to replace that, too. I have a friend that works at Firestone and was gracious enough to extend a Friends and Family discount to me. Worked out to about $20 off per tire. Yesterday was my day off, but I got a call from Milissa at 8:30. She was having a heck of a time getting books to balance. So I stopped in and fixed the problem before I went to the Red Cross to give my double red donation. If it had taken 5 minutes, I wouldn't have worried about the time, but it took 45 minutes. My time isn't free, so she has to let me out an hour early today!!
Best get changed for work. Have a great day HOoters ♥
Mary I'm meeting my daughter in Vegas tomorrow. I need you to send me some of that good gambling mojo that you have. We're staying at Caesar's and going to a weird cabaret type show Friday night called Absinthe. I'm really looking forward to it but not looking forward to the temps that are in the 90's.
Barb I'm so glad you are healing well and that your boys are there to help you. I'm very thankful you had that follow-up EKG. Sending healing white light and prayers your way. Don't forget to watch the rest of Bachelorette.
HOdi That was nice that you got a discount on the tires. Tires are expensive but you need to be safe. As for Melissa.....she needs to learn how to balance the books and that includes finding errors. Otherwise, she needs to start paying you when you go in to rescue her. I assume she's making more than you so she should start earning it.
Jodi, it's nice to know people who can extend benefits when you need them. My Hubby always got deals like that because he knew so many people. Because we owned a glass business he knew a ton in the trades. Now I have to pay full price for everything.
Mary, I love Tim McGraw. Sharon and I saw him when Faith was with him a few years ago. They both performed separately, then together. They make such a cute couple.
Gosh Barb, I'll say you had quite a day. You just drop by for a test and next thing you know you are in surgery!! I'm glad you are okay. I'm kind of surprised that they are letting you have the back surgery so soon after the pacemaker. Good thing Chad was on his way. Are you okay! Are you having to recover from it... I'm sure. What kind of recovery? Take care of yourself.
JL, have fun in Vegas. Hope you win a lot and then you could come visit me!! The heat wouldn't thrill me either. It's bee getting warm here too
Went to WW today and lost 7.1 pounds nods so I got those cruise pounds off plus 1.1 more. I was glad that's for sure
Jodi, tires are always so expensive. I guess a necessity but hard when it's all four. I think you should get paid too for going in and helping out on your day off. What would she have done if you weren't in town?
Mary, I love Tim McGraw and all his songs. Ive seen him in concert a few times and it's always good. You need to go with me for those handicap seats....always on a row with people below you.
I've been on the phone half the night with our phone company. Our phone bill went up $100 and they were trying to explain to me why over and over again. Then I canceled a phone that is no longer used (I thought) and then hung up and realized it was a number for an IPad so had to call back and start all over again!! Very frustrating.
Barb!! Dam woman!! I hope you are ok!! I am so glad you have been going to your Dr! I know you will be fine, many have had that procedure with good results. Keep in touch please!
Hodi, I could have used your friend today. I had to get new tires. They were the original tires when I bought my Jeep in 2008! I got my moneys worth from them! My Jeep is a limited addition so tires were a bit high. $200 each..ouch! Oh well I get a $75 rebate.
JL, I wish I could send you Jim's joo joo. He won almost $2000 yesterday at the Indian Casino!
SLIN - Thank you! I hadn't punched in, but when it took 45 minutes I did fill out a time form. That means she had to let me out early yesterday! And as far as making as much as her, well I truly don't want the headaches. I'll just keep being the glue ;)
DIANNE - I guess it would've waited until I do books today, but I'm glad I could help. It will make today easier! She will be the first to admit that she's not good with numbers. Thus the reason I got her the box of fat crayons for Christmas!!! lol!! What a pain with the phone company....hope you got it all straightened out!
MARY - Damn!! That was a long time on those tires! I've put over 100,000 miles on the Pimpala in the 4 years I've owned it, so replacing tires is a reality for me. I knew I would have to before the snow flies again. Makes me feel better knowing I have new tires for my trip to Indianapolis in August! Nothing worse than the feeling of waiting for the other shoe (or tire) to drop.
Jodi. I forget why you are going to Indiana? I'm going to Indiana the end of the month to see Louis's girls. I'm going to be just across the river from Louisville and get to have lunch with Beverly. That's a lot of miles you had on those tires...you sure need safe ones. At least it doesn't upset you that they call you for the books. You sure are a good employee.
Mary, wow, that's a long time on tires too. How many miles did you have on them? You and your husband are so lucky. What does he play to always be winning?
Barb, how are you doing? Is recovery going good? Are you getting all ready for your back surgery? You have a very full plate right now.
Took the granddaughters to dinner. Kayla was texting and upset as her boyfriend just broke up with her for the 9th time. I told her to,get rid of him. She's telling them need some time apart. Ahh, young love..not always fun plus we don't like this kid much either. He has no ambition.
Went to dentist for a cleaning and for once that's all that it was...no extra money for anything!'!' We spent a very lot of out of pocket $$ last year with her.
Dianne, I was beginning to think I was going to have to nag at you to show up lol!!! My Jeep has just over 80,000. Not going to work every day keeps the miles down. Sure wish I could meet you two in Louisville! I miss you guys!! Its supposed to rain all day tomorrow. I am thinking of running up north to the Casino. I have 4 open houses this month. I also have to DJ a 50th wedding Anniversary the same day as my Niece Raquel's Bridal shower! They are 60 miles apart oye vey! I can't cancel the Anniv. because it is my son's in-laws! Time for bed! Night all!
DIANNE - I'm going to Indianapolis for the Drum Corps International (or DCI) World Championships. I'm driving Sharon (Jame's Mom). This is Jame's age out year with the Madison Scouts. I wouldn't miss it for the world!! Just a little over 2 weeks until they kick off their summer tour. And it's either go in and help Milissa or clean up a shit ton of a mess 2 days later! LOL! Yay for your "clean" dentist visit!!
MARY - Our rain never showed up...unless it rained when I was sleeping. Have fun at the Casino! Sounds like you have a busy month...it's what keeps you young!!
Hi.....I'm here Mary!' So come to Louisville and meet for lunch. It would be tons of fun. We will be there on the 3rd. You do have a very busy month but that will be a brand new month!!
We are having tornados the last two days. It's very scary. Today I went to lunch with my daughter and as we were leaving the tornado sirens were going off and the sky looked bad. I left to drive to the other end of town for hair appt. I was late with all the traffic and then the sirens went off again, when I went in my hairdresser said the whole mall had been closed/locked down and they were all in the middle of the mall. On my way to dinner tonight, it started hailing and more tornado warnings. Louis and I decided to not drive where we were originally going and stopped for a quick sandwich then home. It was beautiful out by then.
I'm meeting a girl for dinner tomorrow night from California that I met on a cruise about four years ago. She is freaking out about our storms. She's never been here before and has been watching the news. Heck, when we go on our road trip this month , we have to drive across Kansas and that freaks me out somewhat. I love Wizard Of Oz but I don't want to be in it!!!
Jodi, your trip will be a lot of fun. How fR is that from where you live? It won't be long until you're off to Hawaii.
JL, are you bringing home lots of money from your trip? Are you coming to take me to lunch with your winnings? What day?
Barb, I'm thinking about you and wondering how you're doing?
DIANNE - About 5 hours to Indy from my place. I told Sharon that we were leaving by 4 am and she could sleep in the car. And only 73 days til we leave for Hawaii. Not that I'm countimg. Woot woot!
Helloooo everyone! Thanks for the good thoughts everyone. I'm doing OK as far as the pacemaker is concerned, but the back and leg - not so much. Thursday night I wrote an email to the back surgeon to confirm my surgery for Tuesday. He wrote back saying that Cardiology wants me to wait 2-3 weeks to be sure the pacemaker doesn't move during the surgery, because I have to be on my stomach. I am very disappointed and my new surgery date is July 9th. Chad is going to have to go home and come back. So my countdown starts all over again.
BARB - Sorry you have to start your countdown over, but so happy they caught the need for the pacemaker before that surgery. And i must say you were kind of entertaining on the phone the other day. Lol!!
Jodi, I'm glad I could entertain you.I was on drugs and I don't remember what I said. I am going to be on drugs until I am recovered from my back surgery, so that will be my excuse for everything for a long time. ;)
Hello, HOoters! I have arrived home safe and sound. I made a nice little deposit to the State of Nevada. LOL That's okay. I figured it would go that way and enjoyed myself doing it.
Dianne I don't blame you for being a little nervous about driving cross Kansas. I don't know why anybody would live there. Don't go during tornado season.
Hi, Barb Is your brain on drugs? Under the circumstances, that's a good thing. I'm sorry you are disappointed about delaying your back surgery but it totally makes good sense to wait a while. I'm so glad you saw your cardiologist when you did and got this pacemaker in place.
Mary I def did not receive any of Jim's joo joo. A woman my daughter works with used to play blackjack on a semi-professional manner. The night before I met my daughter in Vegas, this co-worker of hers won $4,000.00 at a table. She also had 4 rooms comped. I wish i could do that. She stopped playing for a living when she and her husband decided to settle down and have kids.
J/L, Sorry you didn't get Jim's joo joo in Vegas. But at least you had a good time. Chad was just looking over my shoulder and he said my brain is always on drugs. I don't agree!
Dianne, I can't believe you are going through Kansas during tornado season! I wouldn't do that if they paid me. I didn't know Colorado had tornados! California has had some in the last few years and that's new for us. We usually only have to worry about earthquakes! All this climate change is freaking me out!
Hey Barb, how about sharing your drugs lol! Seriously, I feel bad that you have to wait longer, but glad that they are taking precautions!
Slin, how nice of you to donate to the Vegas Casinos! I am sure they appreciated it!! I haven't gone to ours yet. I have been too busy! Hopefully next week.
Hodi, We got a lot of wind and a little rain today. I am not brave enough to drive that far alone.I know Jim would never leave the dog to drive me lol!
Dianne, we only drove a short distance in Kansas, coming back from Vegas , but we were still nervous lol! Jim said a lot of tornadoes originate near CO.I wonder if that is true? Don't forget to take us on your road trip!!
Barb I just woke up and am only just starting my first cup of coffee. That's kind of like I'm on drugs as my brain is not in gear yet. I'm still having trouble with my "good" hip and have to take Tylenol when I get up and again later in the day. If this goes on much longer I will no longer have a good hip and a bad hip. I'll have a bad hip and a worse hip. More drama with Bachelorette tonight. Are you caught up?
Mary It's people like me that keep Vegas afloat. Of course that wouldn't be me personally since I hadn't been there in a decade. There was a particular Ellen slot machine that I liked a lot as I was able to entertain myself for a long time. I actually won $157 on one spin but gave it back to her. LOL
Dianne One of the Mississippi River cruises that my husband and I took started in Memphis. We stayed overnight at a hotel near the airport the night before and there was a tornado warning and the tornado was heading towards the airport. In the lobby, we ran into a couple from Kansas who directed us to go down a back stairwell with them in order to get as low as we could. There were some glass doors leading outside and I couldn't believe the downpour that was going on. I've never seen anything like it. Constant thunder and lightening, too. We all sat on the stairs chatting and waiting it out until the ferocious winds and rain subsided a bit. It was scary.
MARY - We had some hard rain last evening. I had just dropped Jake and a friend off and could only go about 35 mph. Scary! The plus side was the rainbow I saw when the sun broke through!
SLIN - Not yet. Haven't found anything I absolutely love. Almost thinking about going to the shop in Waikiki that I found my red dress from my last trip. Fits great, and because of the way it's constructed, I don't have to wear a bra!!
HOdi I'd be excited about not having to wear a bra, too. LOL Maybe the Waikiki shop has stuff available online. I'd hate for you to go there, not find what you want, then have to spend too much of your vacation doing last minute shopping.
Hi I'm sitting in the shade at McDonald's as I got a dr appt wrong. Thought it was 3:45 and it was 2:46. They called as I was driving and dr wouldn't wait. Dang. All showered and squeaky clean for nothing. Oh well, nice in my car under the tree with car fumes around. The dr appt was my entertainment for the day.
Have done nothing except write out some cards and doze. Guess I'll go home and wash towels. Exciting.
JL, I haven't seen an Ellen machine. I'd probably like that too I think it's all four one year anniversary. Wasn't it s year ago we were at the Hofest?
Jodi, good idea about going online before your trip.
You guys are scaring me about tornados on my trip. There is no other way to get there from here. I have reservations the first night in Hays, Kansas. It's where my friend that lives in KC stops on his way to Denver.
DIANNE - I wouldn't worry too much about tornadoes. Just keep an eye on the weather. You'll be fine! And yes, hard to believe it's been a year since I've had the pleasure of sitting on your lap!
Speaking of "no bra." lol, It was sunny and breezy today so I washed and hung out my bras today! I had lunch with my old co-workers today. Always makes me happy :) Jodi, I am getting excited for you! Hawaii is so beautiful! I hate dress shopping! I look awful in them! I didn't look too bad when I could wear heals, now I look like a midget running a sack race in it lol!!!
Dianne, you will be just fine, as long as the wind blows you this way hee hee!
JL, wow, that was one exciting boat trip! I would have needed a few extra panty changes!!
MARY - I'm sure you look better than that....but I know what you were getting at. I love a lot of the Maxi dresses available, but they're all about 2 feet too long ;)
Mary I hate any kind of clothes or shoe shopping. I can't remember the last time I bought a dress. I just don't wear them anymore. No matter what I try on, I don't feel like I look good in it so that's kind of a buzz kill.
Barb Where are you? Are you in different tree? I started that new pain med last night. I was able to find a comfortable position and was able to sleep. I don't know if that was due to the med as I still hurt in other positions and when walking but at least I was able to sleep so I'm grateful for that.
J/l, The doc told me that med would help me sleep and it sorta did. I'm glad you were able to get comfortable and sleep. I think a big part of my problem was that I wasn't sleeping well. I'm sleeping better now with the Norco and benedril.
I was MIA yesterday because I had a little problem with vertigo and I had to go to the doc. He did an ekg and a blood pressure check while I was laying down, sitting up, and standing and they all turned out well. I also had my ear flushed out on Monday because it was plugged up with wax and I couldn't hear out of that ear and I thought that might have caused the vertigo, but the checked my ear and said that wasn't the cause. Bottom line: He didn't know what caused it, but it was severe. I have never had the room spin and turn upside down like that even when I was very drunk! Anyyway, he gave me drugs and I am much better today.
Barb I'm so glad you are doing better today. There was a period of time when my mother would get vertigo. It was horrible. It was very debilitating and made her sick to her stomach. I had to revert to using Tylenol today so I could walk half-way normal without too much pain. Now I feel very, very tired. There may be a nap in my very near future.
It's a lovely day today, about 70* and sunny. Yesterday we actually had some rain. Yay!
Jodi, I hope you find a dress. I haven';t worn a dress or skirt since I quit working. I feel like Mary. I can't wear heels anymore, so I look too short and squatty!
J/L, I was nauseous, too. I even had dry heaves in the exam room. The doc also gave me a med for nausea and the pharmacist told me that it make me dizzy! WTF? So I had an RX for dizziness and one for nausea which would also make me dizzy! I questioned the logic in that but the pharmacist just shrugged her shoulders. I didn't take any of the nausea med. BTW, this is my primary doc I am dumping as soon as I can. I am getting some references from friends and also from some Kaiser nurses that I know.
Barb Dizzy=nausea=anti-nausea med that might make you dizzy. Hmmmm. Sounds like a vicious cycle to me. My doc is making me come in so I have an appointment Monday afternoon. Fortunately, I do like her.
Barb, I think it is time to switch Drs! Not sure about your Dr., but so many are pill pushers! I know too many peeps incl. my sister-in-law that have been over medicated. I worry about you!
JL,glad you are getting some sleep. I go in spurts. Some nights I sleep like a rock, other times it take a long time for me to drop off. Getting a new mattress has made a big difference! It was a little pricey, but well worth it!
Hodi, If I was as tall as you I would look pretty awesome in a dress, but going bra-less would NOT be an option or me LOL!!!
Hi....glad you're changing primary doctors. You for sure need one you like and feel good with for appointments. Has Chad gone home yet?
Oh boy, can't remember last time I wore a dress or skirt. I probably never will again. Maybe a muumuu!
Louis and I bought some new luggage today for our trip. He wanted the kind with spinners on them and lightweight. Ours is so heavy before you put clothes into it and I do load them!! He does the luggage and just needed something easier for him to handle.
Barb and I went to see our friend in the band that we go see from time to time. We go to show support as they are not very good but we pretend.
Our weather until tonight has been horrible. Really bad rainstorms and flooding and tornado warnings. It must be preparing me for Kansas!! The rain last night was so bad, Louis said it was like driving in a rain blizzard.
Not much planned for the weekend. How abou you all? Meeting my cousin for lunch tomorrow and maybe going to see the new movie Spy on Sunday with Melissa McCarthy.
TINA - Pretty cool video. Love Cindy Crawford's cameo!
ReplyDeleteHOdi Thanks for alerting me to the new blog. Totally missed it yesterday. Couldn't get through the video. I don't like the rapping part at all.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I'm a fan of a lot of different genres of music. And Taylor writes all her own music, so kuddos to her!
ReplyDeleteHOdi I agree that Taylor is very talented. And I do like some rap music, just couldn't get into it with this particular song.
ReplyDeleteI actually went clothes shopping which I hate to do.
ReplyDeleteI see MARY finally made it home today. When do DIANNE and BARB get home?
ReplyDeleteHOdi Dianne arrived home yesterday. I think Barb comes home today but I'm not sure. My memory sucks, big time.
ReplyDeleteTook a drive today up to the Dells.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your weekend SLIN!
ReplyDeleteBARB - Welcome back! Sounds like you had a good time!
ReplyDeleteI'm back. Got home after 2am from airport last night. We were disembarking at 7am...very long day. Graduation party today so we are beat!! I ha net even opened my suitcase to unpack. I'm worlds worse packer and unpacker.
ReplyDeleteWe had a really nice time and perfect weather.
Holy crap!
ReplyDeleteDianne I'm glad you had a good time on your cruise. You sure don't waste any time booking your next one, do you? I would like to spend more time in Boston and I've never been to Bermuda.
ReplyDeleteHOdi Charlie is 78? Holy crap, indeed! Glad you enjoyed the concert.
ReplyDeleteDianne, welcome home!
ReplyDeleteJ/L, Sharon and I went to Boston about 10 years ago but I would love to go back to see the things we didn't have time to see then.
ReplyDeleteI am off to Kaiser to get some pre-op labs done. I hope you're all having a good holiday weekend. ❤️
ReplyDeleteBarb I'm so glad you had a nice time with your friends. Did you guys cook in the condo or go out for meals? That's so nice that your son is coming on the first. This is why you put up with his shenanigans when he was a kid. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt's been totally gloomy and damp here all day.
ReplyDeleteGood morning HOoters!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - It rained most of the day on Sunday. Started off pretty gloomy here on Monday, but turned into a gorgeous day! Still haven't played in the dirt, but hoping to this week!
ReplyDeleteBARB - How did your pre-op labs go? When it was pouring out on Sunday I noticed our gutters were full, so I asked Paul to clear them while I was at work yesterday and he and Jake did!! They then went out and cut and wrapped wood. Tim and Sam were both working, so I had a nice quiet afternoon to myself!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Are you unpacked yet?
ReplyDeleteMARY - Have you finally fed those men-folk? Ha!!!! I hope they hadn't wasted away to nothing ;)
ReplyDelete25!!!
ReplyDeleteBest hoist and rinse...have a great day HOoters ♥
ReplyDeleteHi...yes Jodi, I'm finally unpacked. Now I just have a lot of laundry to do but haven been home long enough to get it done.
ReplyDeleteWe are finally seeing som sun today.
ReplyDeleteI went for my pre-op labs and x-ray on Sunday and my pre-op appointment with the anesthesiologist is tomorrow afternoon. I have to stop all pain meds today, so I'm probably gonna be a grouchy pants until the surgery!
ReplyDeleteDianne I feel your pain. It really sucks when your expenses suddenly increase when you aren't expecting it. That really is a big difference. Are they going to keep doing that every year from now on? Hope you find an acceptable alternative.
ReplyDeleteBarb I hope the pain isn't too horrible while you wait for your surgery. Got wine? I guess you don't want to become a wino, either. LOL Is there anything over-the-counter that you are allowed to take?
ReplyDeleteHOdi I always chuckle at the "hoist and rinse". I got a walk in yesterday when I took the dog out but not today. Today I did manage to go exercise at Curves, though. Tomorrow the dog will get a good run with her friends.
ReplyDeleteMary Are you still in the kitchen cooking for the men folk? I saw on FB that Jim was not feeling well. I hope all is okay. So thankful you had help with the karaoke gig.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, Even over the counter stuff is a blood thinner, so I guess I'll be trying the alcohol approach!
ReplyDeleteHi, HOoters!
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone is having a good day.
BARB - I had a couple Spotted Cows for you this afternoon, did it help? Just trying to help a sista out ;)
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Chinese sounds great!! I had an early supper on the patio where Tim works. He treated me to dinner (I bought my beers). Tried their Salmon Bites. Yummy! It was a gorgeous afternoon to soak up some sun and spend some time with my boy!
ReplyDeleteTomorrow is my "Friday" since I work the weekend. Friday I have an early appointment to give a double red donation at the Red Cross. They've been after me for a couple months to give. I'm finally making the time.
ReplyDeleteHave a good night HOoters!
HOdi The pot stickers and won ton soup were great but now I'm overly full. It's nice to have a son in the restaurant business. Good for him for treating you to dinner.
ReplyDeleteBarb How are you doing on Day One of no pain meds?
ReplyDeleteHi..How are you all doing? Barb, are you coping? I feel bad for you but good thing you do like wine. Hope it's not too bad for you.
ReplyDeleteJodi, enjoy your day off.
ReplyDeleteYou didn't expect to get away with going on a cruise without gaining weight, did you? Even though I feel like I do a lot of walking just getting around on the ship and going on excursions, I still come home a little heavier than when I left.
DIANNE - I may take in a movie after giving blood. Torn between Pitch Perfect 2 and Aloha. I hope Bruce doesn't have to paddle around in Texas! I have a friend that moved there just last year and the video he shot near his house is crazy!!
ReplyDeleteHOdi The movie Aloha looks really good to me. I vote for that one.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I think that is the way I'm leaning. Love Bradley Cooper!!! Plus the backdrop is my zen place!
ReplyDeleteHi all....Jodi, did you end up going to the movie? I noticed you were out sampling other beers so maybe no movie. :)
ReplyDeleteHey grouchy pants (you said it not me) ....how are you?
Mary Mary ....come out wherever you are..
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - I'm going to the movie after giving blood this morning.
ReplyDeleteBARB - You're welcome :)
ReplyDelete50!!
ReplyDeleteJust got back from seeing Aloha. SCORE!
ReplyDeleteJodi, I have a pair of White Mountain flats and they are so comfortable. My other favorite shoes are Clarks. I have three pair.
ReplyDeleteDianne, I hope your brother doesn't run into any flooding on his trip. This isn't a good time to be traveling to Texas.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, The Bachelorette promises to be more of a train wreck than we thought! I don't know why I am so riveted to these shows.
ReplyDeleteHOdi Good score on the sandals. I went clothes shopping again today and this time I actually bought two tops. Yay!
ReplyDeleteBarb We are watching these shows for the same reason as it's fun to people watch at an airport. People are weird! LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're doing okay without your pain meds.
Hi...Things are bright and sunny here today and in the high 70's. Hung out at home all day and then used a Groupon for dinner at a
ReplyDeletesteak place with my friend Barbara.
ReplyDeleteChad is going to stay for as long as I need him, he said.
ReplyDeleteDianne Have fun at the Neil Diamond concert. I saw him perform once and enjoyed myself immensely. I tried buying online years ago but I found that I ended up sending most things back and it became a hassle. It would be great if I knew exactly how a certain brand was going to fit me.
ReplyDeleteBarb That's great that Chad has so much time available so he can be there for you. I had a hard time sleeping last night because my "good hip" was acting up. Too bad we didn't come equipped with spare parts. LOL
ReplyDeleteHOdi Are you still "hoisting and rinsing"?
ReplyDeleteMary Where are you?
ReplyDeleteJL, I order from a store called Catherines a lot.
ReplyDeleteBarb, that is really nice your son can get all that time off.
I
Dianne, LOL Louis just doesn't appreciate how important nagging is!
ReplyDeleteJ/L How is Ursula doing? I shop at QVC a lot because I know what will fit me in the Denim & Co. and Susan Graver lines. I occasionally buy Liz Claiborn clothes at QVC, too. I have never tried Catherine's online, but I have bought clothes in the store we have here many times. I may look at what they have online. Often, online stores will have a bigger selection than the local store. Do you have a good selection of stores in your small town or do you have to go to the big city?
ReplyDeleteDianne LOL @ nagging Mary. Nagging is an art. I'm surprised that Louis doesn't recognize that. LOL I have never shopped at Catherine's. I don't think they have a store around here.
ReplyDeleteBarb I don't go into San Francisco but I do have to go out of town to shop. There's one small Ross Store in Pacifica and that's it. I usually have to go to Daly City, Colma, or San Bruno for clothes shopping. I used to go to San Mateo when I worked there but I find it's too much trouble now. LOL I am so freakin' lazy!
ReplyDeleteBarb2 I forgot to answer you. Ursula is doing great. She's on Zertec. I spent $1,200 at veterinary ER. :(
ReplyDeleteHere I am, checking in! I just caught up with this blog's comments.
ReplyDeleteBarb, I forgot when your surgery is and what you were having done.
Time to check in on FB
later....
Sorry about my mistakes! I just reread! "pick-pocker"
ReplyDeleteand "her and I"? GEESH! LOL
Mary There you are!!! A bat???? How the hell did Jim bring a bat back in his luggage? That is just plain bizarre. I'm sorry you and your niece had cross words. You can take me next time. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Mary. I was thinking the same as J/L about the bat! I'll volunteer to go with you if J/L can't make it. From the pics you posted, it looks like you had a fun time.
ReplyDeleteJim took a back pack.
ReplyDeleteI would love to travel with you guys! At least you would pay your own way...right?
ReplyDeletelol!!!
Mary That's quite a story about the bat. Freaky to have a bat dive bombing your TV.
ReplyDeleteNext time you want to take a trip, let us know.
enes wow that is scary about that bat, Mary.
ReplyDeleteMary, I would pay my own way unless you really wanted to treat me and then I'd be real sweet!!!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter had a pet rat when she was a teenager.
ReplyDeleteDianne,One thing I hate about concerts where many are young, is that they tend to stand up the whole night!
Yayyy!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I'm loving my sandals! So comfortable. I'm also just starting to look for a dress for Angie's wedding. Found a couple I like at JCPenney and one at Dress Barn. Taking the wait and see approach.
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - I've never seen Neil Diamond in concert, but I love his music! Glad you had a good time!
ReplyDeleteMARY - Saturday was awful here. Cold and rainy. It's finally beautiful. Gonna be in the 70's and lovely!!
ReplyDeleteBARB - Glad the boys were able to get to the hospital before you were out of surgery!! Now let them take care of you! Love u lady ♥
ReplyDeleteIt's been a crazy few days.
ReplyDeleteBest get changed for work.
ReplyDeleteBarb I'm so glad you are healing well and that your boys are there to help you. I'm very thankful you had that follow-up EKG. Sending healing white light and prayers your way. Don't forget to watch the rest of Bachelorette.
ReplyDeleteHOdi That was nice that you got a discount on the tires. Tires are expensive but you need to be safe. As for Melissa.....she needs to learn how to balance the books and that includes finding errors. Otherwise, she needs to start paying you when you go in to rescue her. I assume she's making more than you so she should start earning it.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, I plan to watch the Bachelorette today. I hope Mary sends you that good mojo so you can win big in Vegas. Have a safe trip and lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteJodi, it's nice to know people who can extend benefits when you need them. My Hubby always got deals like that because he knew so many people. Because we owned a glass business he knew a ton in the trades. Now I have to pay full price for everything.
ReplyDeleteMary, I love Tim McGraw. Sharon and I saw him when Faith was with him a few years ago. They both performed separately, then together. They make such a cute couple.
ReplyDeleteGosh Barb, I'll say you had quite a day.
ReplyDeleteJL, have fun in Vegas.
ReplyDeleteI know you will be fine, many have had that procedure with good results.
ReplyDeleteBARB - I love having connections!!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - I guess it would've waited until I do books today, but I'm glad I could help. It will make today easier! She will be the first to admit that she's not good with numbers. Thus the reason I got her the box of fat crayons for Christmas!!! lol!! What a pain with the phone company....hope you got it all straightened out!
ReplyDeleteMARY - Damn!!
ReplyDeleteJodi.
ReplyDeleteMary, wow, that's a long time on tires too.
ReplyDeleteMy Jeep has just over 80,000.
Night all!
100!!!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - I'm going to Indianapolis for the Drum Corps International (or DCI) World Championships.
ReplyDeleteMARY - Our rain never showed up...unless it rained when I was sleeping. Have fun at the Casino! Sounds like you have a busy month...it's what keeps you young!!
ReplyDeleteHi.....I'm here Mary!' So come to Louisville and meet for lunch. It would be tons of fun. We will be there on the 3rd. You do have a very busy month but that will be a brand new month!!
ReplyDeleteWe are having tornados the last two days.
Woot woot!
ReplyDeleteHelloooo everyone!
ReplyDeleteBARB - Sorry you have to start your countdown over, but so happy they caught the need for the pacemaker before that surgery. And i must say you were kind of entertaining on the phone the other day. Lol!!
ReplyDeleteJodi, I'm glad I could entertain you.I was on drugs and I don't remember what I said. I am going to be on drugs until I am recovered from my back surgery, so that will be my excuse for everything for a long time. ;)
ReplyDeleteHello, HOoters! I have arrived home safe and sound. I made a nice little deposit to the State of Nevada. LOL That's okay. I figured it would go that way and enjoyed myself doing it.
ReplyDeleteDianne I don't blame you for being a little nervous about driving cross Kansas. I don't know why anybody would live there. Don't go during tornado season.
ReplyDeleteHi, Barb Is your brain on drugs? Under the circumstances, that's a good thing. I'm sorry you are disappointed about delaying your back surgery but it totally makes good sense to wait a while. I'm so glad you saw your cardiologist when you did and got this pacemaker in place.
ReplyDeleteMary I def did not receive any of Jim's joo joo.
ReplyDeleteHOdi Waving a wing at you. I hope the Quick Trip powers that be know what a gem they have in you.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, Sorry you didn't get Jim's joo joo in Vegas. But at least you had a good time. Chad was just looking over my shoulder and he said my brain is always on drugs. I don't agree!
ReplyDeleteDianne, I can't believe you are going through Kansas during tornado season! I wouldn't do that if they paid me. I didn't know Colorado had tornados! California has had some in the last few years and that's new for us. We usually only have to worry about earthquakes! All this climate change is freaking me out!
ReplyDeleteWave a floppy wing to Mary, Jodi, Barbara in CO and all those lurkers out there.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Glad you had a good time, even though you lost some. And the powers that be do realize what I do for that store :)
ReplyDeleteBARB - Waving a wing back at you. How many fingers am I holding up? ;)
ReplyDeleteHey Barb, how about sharing your drugs lol! Seriously, I feel bad that you have to wait longer, but glad that they are taking precautions!
ReplyDeleteSlin, how nice of you to donate to the Vegas Casinos!
ReplyDeleteMary It's people like me that keep Vegas afloat. Of course that wouldn't be me personally since I hadn't been there in a decade. There was a particular Ellen slot machine that I liked a lot as I was able to entertain myself for a long time. I actually won $157 on one spin but gave it back to her. LOL
ReplyDeleteHOdi LOL @ holding up fingers to Barb! Have you made any decisions about a dress for Angie's wedding?
ReplyDeleteDianne One of the Mississippi River cruises that my husband and I took started in Memphis.
ReplyDeleteMARY - We had some hard rain last evening. I had just dropped Jake and a friend off and could only go about 35 mph. Scary! The plus side was the rainbow I saw when the sun broke through!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Not yet. Haven't found anything I absolutely love. Almost thinking about going to the shop in Waikiki that I found my red dress from my last trip. Fits great, and because of the way it's constructed, I don't have to wear a bra!!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteThe delete was mine. I guess I was excited about not wearing a bra. Lol!!
ReplyDeleteJust waiting for Jake. It's the last day of school. Summer's here!
ReplyDeleteHOdi I'd be excited about not having to wear a bra, too. LOL Maybe the Waikiki shop has stuff available online. I'd hate for you to go there, not find what you want, then have to spend too much of your vacation doing last minute shopping.
ReplyDeleteHi I'm sitting in the shade at McDonald's as I got a dr appt wrong. Thought it was 3:45 and it was 2:46. They called as I was driving and dr wouldn't wait. Dang. All showered and squeaky clean for nothing. Oh well, nice in my car under the tree with car fumes around. The dr appt was my entertainment for the day.
ReplyDeleteHave done nothing except write out some cards and doze.
SLIN - Not sure they have an online sute. I only remember where it is! I'm hoping to use it as a second option.
ReplyDeleteSUTE...lol!!! Site!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - I wouldn't worry too much about tornadoes. Just keep an eye on the weather. You'll be fine! And yes, hard to believe it's been a year since I've had the pleasure of sitting on your lap!
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of "no bra." lol, It was sunny and breezy today so I washed and hung out my bras today!
ReplyDeleteI had lunch with my old co-workers today. Always makes me happy :)
Jodi, I am getting excited for you!
I love a lot of the Maxi dresses available, but they're all about 2 feet too long ;)
ReplyDeleteDianne When you drive through Kansas, make sure you have your ruby slippers with you. LOL
ReplyDeleteMary I hate any kind of clothes or shoe shopping. I can't remember the last time I bought a dress. I just don't wear them anymore. No matter what I try on, I don't feel like I look good in it so that's kind of a buzz kill.
ReplyDeleteHOdi If you find a maxi that you love, have it shortened. It wouldn't cost much at all.
ReplyDeleteBarb Where are you? Are you in different tree? I started that new pain med last night. I was able to find a comfortable position and was able to sleep. I don't know if that was due to the med as I still hurt in other positions and when walking but at least I was able to sleep so I'm grateful for that.
ReplyDeleteJ/l, The doc told me that med would help me sleep and it sorta did. I'm glad you were able to get comfortable and sleep. I think a big part of my problem was that I wasn't sleeping well. I'm sleeping better now with the Norco and benedril.
ReplyDeleteI was MIA yesterday because I had a little problem with vertigo and I had to go to the doc.
ReplyDeleteIt's a lovely day today, about 70* and sunny. Yesterday we actually had some rain. Yay!
Jodi, I hope you find a dress. I haven';t worn a dress or skirt since I quit working. I feel like Mary. I can't wear heels anymore, so I look too short and squatty!
ReplyDeleteJ/L, I was nauseous, too.
ReplyDeleteI should have said - it might make me dizzy!
ReplyDeleteDianne, I hate when I get appointment times wrong. I haven't done it too often but it's frustrating when it happens.
ReplyDeleteBarb Dizzy=nausea=anti-nausea med that might make you dizzy. Hmmmm. Sounds like a vicious cycle to me. My doc is making me come in so I have an appointment Monday afternoon. Fortunately, I do like her.
ReplyDeleteBarb, I think it is time to switch Drs! Not sure about your Dr., but so many are pill pushers! I know too many peeps incl. my sister-in-law that have been over medicated. I worry about you!
ReplyDeleteJL,glad you are getting some sleep.
"on me"
ReplyDeleteMary, I am definitely changing primary doctors. I like all my other doctors.
ReplyDeleteHi....glad you're changing primary doctors. You for sure need one you like and feel good with for appointments. Has Chad gone home yet?
ReplyDeleteOh boy, can't remember last time I wore a dress or skirt.
