This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Sam gave me a beautiful bouquet yesterday and Jake's FFA teacher added extra plants onto my order for Mother's Day. Paul even got me a card and a box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates!! Last night was a blast!! Robert totally put his shell bra, grass skirt, and lei on (without being drunk!!!). I had also got him a dashboard hula girl! Love the dollar store. I got all that plus 8 more lei's for $7!!!
Paul and I were going to go to church with his parents this morning, but I was a tad hung over and fell back to sleep. He was sweet and let me stay home.
After Tim gets done with work today, Paul, the boys and I are going out to dinner. No cooking for me today!!! Woot Woot!!!
HOdi Here I am! I don't know where Barb, Dianne and Mary are.
I exercised yesterday even though I didn't feel like it. I'm going to try and force myself to do it again today. All my eating out last week resulted in a 3 lb weight gain. Not welcomed news. I was working on losing weight and it is a step in the wrong direction. Tonight I am going to make myself a meatloaf so I may not be done going down this wrong road. LOL
SLIN - Whew...I was starting to get lonely! Good for you for taking walks. I try to do the same. I'm also trying to eat more salads and fruit. Also upping my water every day. It seems to help. I have a postcard I keep on my fridge of Hawaii as a reminder of my trip. I would love to drop 10-20 lbs before then.
HOdi Actually, it was exercising, not walking. In fact, my back and hip were really bothering me today just walking around doing some errands today. I forgot that I'm meeting friends for dinner so my meatloaf will have to wait until tomorrow.
Hi there! I am so sorry I have been MIA! Life here has been hectic. After a long road trip from Vegas, my great Nephews accident, and getting ready for my trip, I have been pooped!
I leave this Thurs. and come back next Thurs. Tomorrow I meet my old work pals for lunch, have to pick up Euros, get mani/.pedi and finish cooking up meals to leave the men, plus baking cookies and brownies so their sweet tooth are not deprived lol! Today I had my hair did bought grosseroes, made calls to cc Co. about leaving on trip and cooked a Mex. meal. I am sure I am leaving something out lol!!
Justlin, hang in there. It is hard to give up stuff we love to eat. I try to eat smaller portions even if it means I shut my eyes and throw half away...quickly lol! Walking seems to help me more than just exercising.
Hodi, Glad you had a great Mother's Day and "sleep-in" ;-)
Mary Your men folk are sure lucky they have you to take care of them. You take care of them even when you're away. I'm jealous about your trip. Since I am 1/4 french, I'd really like to see France someday.
My brother went to ER today. At first they thought it was appendicitis but it appears to be his gallbladder. He was supposed to have surgery 1 1/2 hours ago but they are just now taking him in. Running late, I guess.
Hi....J/L ..how is your brother? Hope he's ok. Also hope they keep him overnight. How was your dinner tonight?
Ok Jodi.....IM NOT PACKED AND IM STRESSING!!! You know I'm usually partially packed. I have a few things on my bed (not clothes) and a list made. Tomorrow I have a couple of errands and then hustle. I try almost everything on before I pack and that takes forever. Louis said weather in Alaska is showing 70. That does not match my clothes that I planned on taking. I need to do some laundry but haven figured out how to operate the new washer and dryer. We are leaving at 7:15am Friday.
Mary, have a great time. I'm glad I don't have to do all that extra work before I leave. I'd never go. Anyway, enjoy yourself.
Jodi, it won't be like long before you are off to Hawaii.
DIANNE - Good grief woman! Don't stress. Just go shopping on the ship ;) A little over 3 months and we will be in paradise! I still have to book our inter island flights and our car rentals. Otherwise we are all set!
HOdi As it turned out, they didn't take him into surgery until after 10:30 last night. When I called at midnight he was in recovery. Called this morning but he's sleeping. At least it's over.
JL..hope all is okay with your brother. Glad they at least kept for the night. I guess that late they have too. How is he today?
Well, I have was writing my itinerary for the kids tonight and realized we leave two hours earlier than I thought tomorrow. I thought we left at 10...oh no, it's really 8. I had to call my friend that's driving us and ask her to be here at 5:30 am. Good thing she's a morning person. Good news is that I'm finally all packed. My suitcase weighs two pounds too much so I have to take a little out for Louis's suitcase. I can't leave one thing behind.
Looks like the weather is going to be 70 in Alaska while we are there. Perfect, that's why I like going there.
Mary, I guess you are either in France or still on your way. Hope you have a really good time.
Barb, you doing okay? Thinking about you.
Jodi, three months isn't very long. Better get those things booked. Is Paul looking forward to the trip? Exactly where in Hawaii are you going?
Well, guess I'd better go to bed as 4:30 when I have to get up comes early. Night all
J/L, I hope your brother is recovering nicely. It's a bummer when you are all prepared for surgery at a certain time and then it's delayed. That happened when I had the heart surgery. I was supposed to go in to surgery at 10:00 and it was about 4:00 when I finally was taken to the OR. They gave me a shot of something to relax me, but it had worn off by then.
Dianne I'm glad you aren't going on the Princess Star as it docked in SF today and is being sanitized after an outbreak of Norovirus. Unfortunately, that can happen on any ship so make sure to make good use of the hand sanitizers they have on hand. I hope you have a wonderful trip. Gee, I'm glad I don't have to get up at 4:30. I do have to be presentable by 8:30, however, as I have contractor and handyman coming to the house.
Barb My brother is staying a second night in the hospital. His white blood count was still high today and the doctor said his gall bladder looked really and was getting ready to burst. I guess the reason his surgery was so late was that it was not a scheduled surgery as he had been in the ER that morning and admitted to the hospital from there. They took him when when they were able to. He hadn't really had any symptoms until yesterday when it became an emergency.
J/L, When my surgery was delayed, it was because of an emergency that came up from the ER. It was a higher priority since mine wasn't an emergency. I hope they get his blood count leveled out. That can be a big problem.
DIANNE - We are spending 3 nights on Oahu with KGIRL, then 3 nights on Kauai for the wedding. I was lucky and found a rental where Kim and I stayed in Kapa'a last time for only $99 a night right on the ocean! And it's only 5 minutes from the wedding site. SCORE!!!
SLIN - I'm glad your brother is on the mend! And I think DIANNE meant she was taking a few things out of her suitcase to put them in Louis's. Good luck with your appointments this morning.
Well, today is my day off and I'm enjoying some coffee and a quiet house listening to it rain. M6 nephew James is in town today, so I'm meeting him and his Mom for lunch. Tomorrow he leaves for spring camp for the Madison Scouts. Even though they are based in Madison, they have all their camps in Indiana. I am so excited that James decided to march his age out year! The Madison show is called 78th and Madison. Based on old Hollywood musicals. I know their closer is the song "Get Happy". It's kind of a telling theme for James and all he has been through in the last year.
Jodi. My surgery is scheduled for June 9th. I won't know what time until Kaiser calls me the day before to tell me. I hate that they do it that way. It would be so much better to be able to plan my ride if I knew at least a few days before. However, this time Chad is coming down on June 1st, so it won't be a problem. He will take me. I told him I would have a "honey do" list for him when he gets here. There are things I haven't been able to do that I'm sure he would LOVE to help me with. LOL
HOdi Because I got up so early yesterday and went to bed so late the night before, I ended up having a nap in the late afternoon. I woke up feeling drugged. I hate when that happens. It would be so nice to have a refreshing nap, instead.
J?L, Light bulbs are first on the list! I started packing today and it is taking me FOREVER! I can't stand very long and carrying stuff is a real pain - literally. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea!
SLIN - Good morning! Sunny, breezy, and mid 60's here. I had a short shift today. Meeting my old boss Alex for lunch, and then coming home and playing in the dirt. Enjoy your Monday pretty lady!
HOdi It remained overcast and gloomy here. I did run a few errands; gas station, post office, and Curves to exercise. Other than mopping bathroom floor and a load of laundry, not much happening here. Oh, I did sit on hold for 45 minutes with the Social Security office. That was certainly not exciting.
SLIN - Never did play in the dirt. Had an extended lunch with Alex....wheeeee!! I have tomorrow off, so hoping the weather cooperates so I can get outside.
HOdi It sounds like you had a fun lunch. Was there any Spotted Cow involved? Hope you're able to get down and dirty tomorrow. I guess that would be "today" in your time zone. LOL
Hi...I'm in Juneau. The weather so far is beautiful, clear and sunny...same as last year. Went whale watching today and to a salmon bake. It was yummy and saw a lot of whales.
The food is great on cruise. Tonight is Italian night. Of course the desserts are even better. All went well with check in this time. We only have four of us or sometimes six at our table for eight. Wish there were more.
Just a brief check in while I have service. Will be home Friday night. Btw, got my suitcase down three pounds by moving a few items. Ive been shopping here though so had to buy a big duffle bag to haul it all home....and I don't even buy grandkids gifts anymore because they don't like anything but my daughter still loves everything and so do I.
Guess I'd better sign off thinking of you all. Xxoo
DIANNE - Waving a wing at you! Anything in that duffle for me? ;) Sounds like a beautiful trip! Love watching whales! Enjoy the rest of your time and safe travels home!
Dianne Nice to hear from you. Sounds like you are having a great cruise. I'm glad you saw a lot of whales. Down by where I sometimes walk the dog along a levee by the beach, they are digging two large holes with bulldozers in order to bury two whale carcasses. :(
Happy Mother's Day, HOoters! I hope everyone has a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day!!

DIANNE - Are you packed yet?
ReplyDeleteMARY - When do you leave on your next adventure?
ReplyDeleteBARB - How was your spaghetti dinner?
ReplyDeleteWow....what an echo ;)
ReplyDeleteHOdi Here I am! I don't know where Barb, Dianne and Mary are.

ReplyDeleteDianne, If your suitcase is overweight, how does taking something out of Louis' suitcase help? Don't they weigh each one separately?
ReplyDeleteMary, Safe travels and have a great time!
ReplyDeleteJodi, Countin' the days to paradise!
ReplyDeleteDianne I'm glad you aren't going on the Princess Star as it docked in SF today and is being sanitized after an outbreak of Norovirus. ReplyDeleteJ/L, we got some rain yesterday and some snow in the mountains. I wish it lasted longer. but we'll take it!
ReplyDeleteDianne, Did you leave already or is it next Thursday you leave?
ReplyDeleteBARB - I'm so glad your son will be there to help. Make sure the list is good!!! lol! I think DIANNE left already. Just you me and SLIN here now.
ReplyDeleteI best go "hoist and rinse". It's my weekend to work :)
ReplyDeleteBarb I saw the snow and rain on the news. Unfortunately, no rain landed here. I had been hoping it would swing our way.
ReplyDeleteI see that the Skipper doll made it to France along with Flat Kathy and Flat Shirley. I would love to go to France someday.
Do you still need some light bulbs replaced in the kitchen? Put that on your honey do list.
HOdi Because I got up so early yesterday and went to bed so late the night before, I ended up having a nap in the late afternoon. I woke up feeling drugged. I hate when that happens. It would be so nice to have a refreshing nap, instead.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I know what you mean. This is why I set an alarm for 30 minutes. Even if it is to just "rest my eyes", so much better than a full on nap.
ReplyDeleteJ?L, Light bulbs are first on the list! I started packing today and it is taking me FOREVER! I can't stand very long and carrying stuff is a real pain - literally. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea!
ReplyDeleteJodi, Don't work too hard! How is Jake doing these days?
ReplyDeleteBARB - He's doing the same. Hard playing the waiting game for the appointment with the neurologist.
ReplyDeleteHOdi Well, I guess we have to hold down the fort while our friends are traveling. It's looking overcast and gloomy here. I hope it burns off by noon.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Good morning! Sunny, breezy, and mid 60's here. I had a short shift today. Meeting my old boss Alex for lunch, and then coming home and playing in the dirt. Enjoy your Monday pretty lady!

ReplyDeleteHOdi Have you been watching Dancing With the Stars, by any chance. Barb and I were very happy that Rumor Willis won.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I did not watch this season. I will have to go online and watch some of her moves!
ReplyDeleteNew blog!! For those of you that missed it, or are traveling!
