Dianne, good advice! LOL BTW, you know I never bet on football. We are on a roll! LOL
ReplyDeleteJodi, Good luck meeting with Kristy. I hope she understands your frustration and your need to vent, but you do have to be careful to whom you vent. I could be dangerous and you can't be sure whom you can trust!
ReplyDeleteJ/L, I hope you're having a good time in SoCal.
ReplyDeleteMary, You are just back from Vegas and going gambling again? I guess that's how the rich people do it! ;)
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - There is some truth to #9. I will never understand they way they teach math these days!!
ReplyDeleteBARB - Prettiest in all the blog today! Lesson learned. I truly need to just keep my mouth shut. The one whom I think "tattled", always has A LOT to say, too. But I have never once thrown her under the bus.
ReplyDeleteHodi, I opened my mouth at the wrong time too many, many years ago. I am very careful now! I can't even confide in my sister or my Nieces (sis Lena, Jaimie& Raquel). Every time I did, they all broke my confidence within hours!I would get calls wanting to know why I said what I did! I guess that is why I treasure my owl friends so much!
ReplyDeleteI would probably burst from keeping stuff inside lol! Oh, and forget Hubby, he's in his own man world lol!
Dianne, I was very disappointed in our Lions Sunday, but happy for your Broncs.
SacBarb, rich? lol! I would be if I quit traveling and gambling and going to concerts.
Now that would be boring!
Jodi....congratulations to the Packers tonight. We play them Nov 1st. We will have to wear one green and one orange tassel.
ReplyDeleteHad lunch and got my nails done today. Louis came in for a pedicure so I didn't have to pay....that the was a nice surprise. I have hen came home and took a nap. I need to be straightening up around here in case my Texas cousins come over here. I'm thinking we will be at Tammy's all the time but you never know.
We had the bug spray guy here today for the winter. He sprays for spiders and puts things in the garage in case a mouse would come in there. I'd probably have to move if that happened.
Guess we are finally done celebrating Louis's birthday with dinners for another year. I'm busy now trying to get people to rsvp for our family party on Saturday. Irritates me they don't.
That's about it from this part of the world....
MARY - I'm with you. I'd rather live life and enjoy! Life is too short. I already warned my kids to not expect anything when I'm gone. Lol!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Deal! That will be quite a game AND fashion statement! Good luck getting those RSVP's!
ReplyDeleteBowling was fun last night, but I didn't get much sleep. I thought it started at 7:30, but it didn't start until 8. By the time we got done and I drove home it was after 10. And of course I had to stay up for the end of the game. Looks like a nap will be in my future today.
ReplyDeleteWell, it's officially fall. When I got up this morning it was a chilly 42*. We are only expecting a high of 60* today. As much as I enjoy some warmth, I'm looking forward to sweatshirt weather! They said on the news today that with the sunshine during the day and cooler temps at night, it will really make the leaves turn.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Looks like you had a beautiful view on your flight home. I love flying at that time of the day. Sunset is amazing from the air! How was your trip? Welcome home pretty lady ♥
ReplyDeleteGood morning, HOoters!
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm back from my visiting with my brother. I got home last night and what a nice change to actually have to sleep under a blanket and comforter. I was dying in the heat for the last 10 days. My brother doesn't have central air, just a window air conditioner in the living room. I was sleeping on top of the bed with a fan blowing on me. I grew up in that house but I am not used to that kind of weather anymore. To be honest, he wasn't enjoying it, either. So, while I was there we celebrated his birthday and had lots of dinners out. I watched his softball games on Thursday and Friday nights, Friday was a double header and that was a little rough sitting on a metal bleacher seat for that long, even though I was sitting on an afghan. Saturday he had pool volleyball games with a few friends. They are very competitive but have fun at the same time. I watched some of the games in the shade of the patio but being as it was over 100*, I spent the majority of time inside his friend's air conditioned house reading my Kindle. We had a fun dinner together afterwards.
Anyway, I hope all is well with everyone. HOdi, I will have to find out what's going on with you at work.
J/L, welcome home. I heard how hot it was in SoCal. Even the celebrities at the Emmys were sweating in all their finery! Your brother sure is active with all his athletic events. My boys used to do all that stuff, too, but now only the youngest plays golf. The other two don't play any sports. They do go fishing occasionally, but that doesn't take much effort unless they actually catch fish!
ReplyDeleteJodi, I keep telling my kids that I'm spending their inheritance! They probably think I'm kidding. They'll see! I figure they will have the house and anything above that is gravy!
ReplyDeleteMary, I treasure my Owl friends for the same reason. I don't have anyone else I can vent to!
ReplyDeleteDianne, Have fun with the relatives.
ReplyDeleteGoing to get a pedi today. Since I can't bend yet, it's imperative that I keep them up. ;)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back JL. Sounds like you had a fun trip, except for the heat. Boy, I wouldn't like it that hot either. It's going down to 58 Saturday they are saying. My cousins will be freezing. We will be comfortable. Ha ha
ReplyDeleteBarb, I always get pedis now ..it's just easier and feels good. You will probably get in the habit now too. Are you getting around okay on your own? How's the driving going? Don't be jumping up and cheering for those Raiders!!
So, my friend got George Strait tickets for she and her daughter and Tammy and I. We are doing a mother/daughter trip but the concert isn't until December 3, 2016. I'm calling it my 70th birthday celebration. I can't believe I'll be 70 by then. The tickets were $150 and it's in Vegas. The darn surcharge brought it to $226 each. If you wanted floor tickets, it was $2336. I'm hoping our seats are pretty good and we got the handicap as I sure won't be able to walk that far. My friend is working on getting a Time Share of her friend. I just said I probably would never go back there again as I'm nervous about getting around....but they talked me into it.
Went to lung dr today and all my tests came back good so was glad to hear that news. I don't have to go back for a year. Now I hopefully finish up at the dentist tomorrow. Whew!!'
Jodi, did you get caught up on your sleep? It seems like you are always very busy and not getting enough sleep. Good thing your a youngster.
Mary, howdy. Is it cooling off there too? Can hardly believe it's October tomorrow already. I'm loving all the pumpkin flavored everything right now. Had a very yummy pumpkin pecan waffle yesterday.
Btw, cooked last night....roast and the trimmings. I am such a Betty Crocker!!
Dianne, your home cooked meal sounds yummy!
ReplyDeleteI should check into some tickets for George S. I have never been to his concerts. He is one of the last few, true Country singers.
JL, We never had ac or fans growing up in our home. Our bedrooms were upstairs and we had one bathroom for all 7 of us! I can't wrap my head around that lol!
I feel bad every time I think of my Mom raising such rambunctious kids, and feeding them every day, not to mention all the laundry and cleaning!
Barb,I need a pedi. I am still trying to find someone decent since my reg. place was hit by a tornado! I see they are finally making progress on rebuilding it. I will have awfully long toenails by the time it is finished lol!! I did have them done before I went to Vegas. I had my finger nails done at the mall in Vegas.
Hodi, yup, time to drag out the jackets, long pants and hot chocolate!
I am really hating the pain in my legs from arthritis.
We have a couple of Karaoke gigs this month. This Sat. is a private party and on the 31st,we are doing the American Legions Halloween party, which is always fun. I love playing "The Monster Mash, Little Red Riding Hood,Werewolves of London, and of course thriller!
New blog.
