  1. Bwah ha ha good one Dianne!!
Just a quick fly-by. Nothing exciting today. I am heading into town to get a few gross-eries. Not in the mood to cook anything fancy today. I made burritos, beef tips w/ mashed taters , and t-bones this week. Time for burgers lol! Friday is usually pizza time.
    Later......

  2. Mary Nothing exciting in my world, either. Yesterday was a beautiful day as is today, too. I am invited over to my neighbor's house for a high school graduation celebration. These are pretty new neighbors that are renting the house and I don't know them well. I see they have a bouncy house set up in the backyard. My back is killing me so I guess I won't be going in there. LOL The graduate's mother told me they are having an open bar for drinks, a taco bar, and also Polynesian food since the graduate is 1/2 Polynesian. I did get the kid a card and gift card so I suppose I will go over there long enough to at least give him that. I just wish my back was in better shape today. It's been hurting since yesterday. I spent most of the previous two days slouched on the sofa watching movies and shows I had recorded. It seemed like the thing to do on gray, cold, windy days but I guess I was slouching wrong as my back sure wasn't happy about it later.

  4. Barb Did you get a chance to watch The Bachelorette, yet? I wonder what you are thinking about the male model.

  5. Heading to bed.
Jim and I went to hear a local bartender/singer at a bar tonight. He will be heading to Chicago next week end for an audition for the "Voice". I have heard him before at Karaoke. He is pretty good. Hope he has luck at the audition.

The weather turned cold today. I had to dig out my sweat pants lol!
    Night all!!

  6. JL, no, we leave tomorrow morning and guess what??? I’m all packed...even two suitcases. We did a joint one for the road tomorrow night and then our own for majority of trip. Then LOUIS doesn’t have to unload so much at our one night stop. My medicine bag looks like I’m a darn dr as I’m taking all that rash junk, etc. just in case. How was the graduation party? Sounded like yummy food.

Mary, we are going to Branson and then to Louisville, Ky, to spend some days with Louis’s daughters. I’ll get to have lunch with Beverly on Tuesday, so that will be fun too. We won’t be back until June 22nd...long trip and lots of shows planned in Branson so looking forward to trip except the heat and humidity. That’s fun that you were able to hear a singer that’s trying out for the voice. Hope the person gets picked.

We went to my grandsons party yesterday and it was really nice. The had a dj outside. He played more music for us old folks and some country too. All the kids were in and out. They probably partied after we left. It was funny as so many police that work with Todd were there and then before 8 someone called the police about the music. We had plenty of our own, lol. The weather was really nice too. I kind of hung out inside with my friends until the shade came on patio. There were really a lot of people there. We are finally done with graduations!

Barb, I’m sure missing you. I wonder how you’re doing, etc. I wish you’d check in.

  7. Here I am. I'm sorry for being MIA so much. I haven't been on the computer much since Chad has been here. We have been busy. He is helping me around the house. There are things that needed ti be done and he has been very helpful. Today is election day and I forgot to send in my ballot so it would arrive in time so we had to go to a drop off place today. We have some important issues on the ballot.

Mary, have you decided to go to Vegas with Jim? We has such a good time when we were there. It was hot, but I liked it since I'm always cold. Are you going to have to have surgery on your knee? I am so glad I had both of my knees replaced. I was in a lot of pain and now they don't hurt at all.

Dianne, have fun on your road trip. I hope the weather is not too hot for you guys. What shows are you going to see in Branson? I love going to live shows. We were in the front row at one of the shows we saw in Vegas. The group was a "Boy" Band from Australia and Lynn got serenaded by one of the guys. He came down from the stage and sang to her and it was fun.

J/L, I was disappointed that Becca didn't send the model home. He is going to be trouble for the rest of the guys. I hope you back pain subsides. I know how bad that can be when there are things you need to do. My back has been acting up again, too.

  8. Dianne, I see you are on your trip. Don't forget to take pics!

Barb, glad seeing you in the nest! I don't blame you for being gone. I would also be concentrating on getting things done while someone is there to help. Yay Chad!!
    I still haven
t made any decisions on Vegas. I guess I better decide soon before all the seats are gone lol!
I don't see my knee specialist until the 18th. I was cleared on workman's comp still covering it, so that is a relief! In a way I hope I do get a new knee replacement, as this one has been a pain from the start!

Justlin, I am so sorry about your back! Back pain is THEE worst! The only thing that helps me is Motrin and laying down . It usually flares up when I do "bending and lifting", especially when packing for a trip. It is a General Motors gift that keeps on giving lol! I was too short for many of the jobs they put me on. One was bending and lifting dashboard frames onto carriers. I remember hurting so bad that I would cry most of the day. Valium didnn't help. I took a load of them! I was not one to complain, but this was too much for me. It took a lot to get the union to get me off of that job! I even put in heavy emergency brakes and built my own stock in between cars that came by at about 48 per hour. I was a lot younger, stronger, dumber and a whole lot skinnier lol!! The pay was excellent over $25 and hour with full benefits and paid vacations. It was years before OSHA came in and helped us! I did finally learn to speak up when the job was more than I could handle. "then, than?" lol! I forget.

  9. So Chad and I spent the day driving Arch's Mom to the lab for a blood draw. She has fourth stage cancer and just finished a round of chemo, so they are keeping a close check on her. On Friday Chad is going to drive her to a surprise birthday party for a friend of hers. They are holding it at Red Lobster and she loves that place. I've been trying to help her as much as I can when her two daughters can't take her to her appointments. Arch doesn't drive, so even when he's here, he isn't any help in that regard.

J/L, I hope your back pain is gone. It's so hard to do anything when your back hurts. For me, it seems to happen when I have the most work to do. Maybe it's all in my mind, because I don't want to do the work!

Dianne, I hope you're having fun on your road trip.

Mary, I hope you can get that knee replaced so you can get back to your walking routine. I really like to walk buy my hip and my back prevent me from doing it too much. That is the primary reason why I got cats instead of a dog. I don't need to walk the cats! LOL

  10. Barb I'm sorry to hear about Arch's mom. That's a tough one. I hope she's able to enjoy her friend's party at the Red Lobster. I haven't been to that restaurant in a while and have been thinking I should go soon. I sure love that Zuppa Toscana.

That's great that Chad's been spending time with you and helping you around the house. It's nice to have a man around the house sometimes.

My back is almost back to normal. I think I hurt it by doing too much of nothing on my new sofa. LOL A week ago when it was such gray, depressing weather, I spent a lot of time on the sofa with my feet elevated and placed on the coffee table while I binge watched shows. It felt good at the time but in reality my back was in a slouched position for way too long.

  11. Mary You poor little thing. I can't imagine working at a job like you did with all that heavy lifting for as long as you did. That must have been so hard on your body no matter how young and fit you were. Do you think your knee problems are related to that?

I'm so sorry that your knee is hurting you so bad. As for going to Vegas....You can request a wheelchair at the airport, as I'm sure you know. Also, you should check with the hotel about rental of a scooter. Barb contemplated doing that when we were in Vegas.

  12. Dianne Well, it looks like you're on the road again. You always have such a good time in Branson. I hope the weather cooperates for you and it's not too humid. That's smart packing so Louis doesn't have to carry heavy luggage any more than necessary.

I ended up not going to the party next door. My back was just too bothersome. They had a big crowd, though, and the weather was beautiful. The graduate's mother kept coming over and bringing me food and drinks. She brought be chicken and beef tacos and a tropical drink. Then a few hours later she came over with Hawaiian chicken, rice, potato salad, chocolate cake, and a different tropical drink. It was very sweet of her.

  13. Justlin, what a sweet neighbor you have. I would have done the same thing if I was your neighbor :) Take care of that back!

Today was a mix bag. I made a large dish of lasagna for a "celebration of life" memorial for an old gentleman friend of ours. I visited him in the nursing home a couple of days before his passing. I knew it was only a matter of time. I sang him a song and said my goodbyes. He was 86 yrs old. He was sweet, but could be a stinker too lol! You couldn't help but like him even on is ornery days. He got a nice Military send-off. No burial, so the ceremony was done across from our VFW at the Memorial park.

It has been a gray and rainy day.
A bright spot in my day is that our PBS is back on the air! I have been having PBS withdrawals all month! They replaced the old tower with a stronger taller one , but with the high winds and rain we have had this month it took longer to get it done.

I have been so bummed about Anthony Bordain! He was one of the reasons I got the travel bug! I see tomorrow they are going to run his series all day. I wish I could record it! No DVR here :(

  14. Hi...here I am still in Branson. I absolutely love it here. It’s like my idea of Disneyland. Tonight I won tickets to a Neal Sedaka tribute show tomorrow a,m. Tonight we went to see Jerry Presley..Elvis’s cousin. Really good 90 straight minute show. We went on a paddle boat ride this afternoon. Sinatra and friends show, country show, million dollar quartet .Id seen it at the theater some years ago. It’s a really good show and a true story. We’ve se b best of 50’s and 60’s, broadway hits amp others. I’ve also done some Coach shopping here We’ve been going to two, shows a day and one day only we had three. I think I have LOUIS convinced to come back for thanksgiving as the Christmas show will be on then too. We leave Friday for Louisville. Too soon for me. We have a nice condo with a washer and dryer. My leg is still giving me fits.

Mary, sorry you lost your friend. Rest some when do you go to knee dr?

JL, it’s mighty humid here but we mostly hurry from car, restaurant or show. I’m sure I’m gaining weight as I’m not doing to well on my eating. I’m trying to drink tea or water. It’s a out 100 out and then with the humidity...not my kind of day We are having such a good time and the people are relaxed and nice. They talk and honor their vets each show and sung a couple of gospel hits. I just love the morales and how friendly and happy everyone is here
