Dianne I hope Louis is having a good day and that your anxiety level is down. Was yesterday's Super Bowl a good distraction for a few hours? I went with Jane to another friend's house where the three of us watched while eating snacks and flatbread pizza. I'd never had flatbread pizza before. It was fine but I'll be sticking to regular pizza crust in the future, thank you very much. The friend's house is about 40 or so minutes away and when we came home, we hit a lot of fog here on the coast in the higher areas. I was glad when we swooped down to sea level and we were under it. I don't know how you and Mary drive in the snow.
You still have a nice trip to look forward to. I assume Louis's shoulder will be well healed and driving will be no problem. Years ago when my husband had shoulder surgery for a torn rotator cuff, they kept him over night for at least 2 nights. Maybe the protocol has changed due to COVID.
I've been going out to restaurants for quite a while now and I feel okay about it. In fact, I'm taking my friend to dinner at a Mexican restaurant on Thursday. She's the one that likes to cook and she invites me to dinner often but we also have a routine of going out once a month and alternating who pays for it. Tomorrow night my other friend will be coming over with her leftover and I'll have my own leftovers and we'll catch up on some shows we enjoy. I wasn't kidding when I said that my social life revolves around food.
My foot is good now. I don't know how I got the infection but I assume it must have been itchy and I must have scratched vigorously, broke the skin when gave some bacteria opportunity to settle in. Anyway, that's my guess. I'm just glad that it doesn't hurt to walk, anymore.
Maybe tonight is the night that the Bachelor finally gets rid of Shanae. One can always hope. If the producers encouraged keeping her around, they are on to something because I know it has me more engaged with the show than I might otherwise be.
Mary I've been nostalgic for some cruising. My friend just went on a cruise and is going on another one in a month or so. So my daughter call to tell me she'll be driving down from Oregon with her 3 dogs in May (my birthday) and will spend some time with me. She is then leaving her 3 dogs with me while she and a girlfriend go to Ireland for 2 weeks. What? I'm totally jealous. I've wanted to see Ireland and Scotland but by way of cruising as I think that would be more my speed since a lot of walking makes my sciatica hurt. Plus, I've probably seen enough castles. It's kind of a "once you've seen one, you've seen them all" kind of attitude. The dogs are good but their wake up time is a lot earlier than mine.
Well, phooey! I just found out that my daughter won't be coming down for my birthday, after all. It seems she committed to dog sitting for her boyfriend's parents and she thought it was in April but it is actually from mid-April to mid-May. Needless to say, her Ireland plans had to be rescheduled to September. I'll still be dog sitting then.
Hi all….nice a new blog. JL, if we could get rid of this damn bag life would be so much better. It’s really put a shadow on him for the next shoulder. I’m not kidding, if we didn’t have this bladder issue it would have not been so hard. I just so hope he passes the pee test on Friday. I’m missing cruising too. We will be on one a year from now. Our next vacation…short one…is to overland park, Ks. To see TTT. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. We thought we had our tenor tickets for March sold but my cousins friend can’t go after all. At least I got all the hotels canceled and they had already charged me . Our valentine dinner was Arbys. I might order red lobster for curbside tmrw night. It’s lobster fest and on Wednesday's it’s steak and lobster for $20.99..can’t beat that price. Should have taken those meals the Dr offered today for louis. I don’t really have room in freezer for 14 meals a week. I repaired from Costco before and when were at all these drs I I knew up something and of course Louis’s daily Starbucks. I’m sad we had to cancel our trip but the catheter has thrown a real wrench in everything so just as well. Darn that se had to reschedule Ireland trip. Has she had her boyfriend for a long time? I don’t remember u talking about him. Maybe u should go see her for your birthday. Would u drive that far? I have been going to restaurants for quite some time..still wear my mask although masks have been canceled now as of Friday. We r still careful and of course all dr offices require them. Barb, I told louis when/if he gets other shoulder done and they catherize him..off to rehab he goes…I have power of attorney..he will go! Tammy and James will be here Sunday for the day. Do a little grocery shopping for us, etc. it will be nice as we do have a couple of things James can do for us. Barb will come over sat. My son and dil have offered to come over too ..which is nice. I’m missing my lunches. Todd and liane live about an hour away and todd works so much I hate to bother them. Well, guess I’ll get back to watching skating. Well, crap! I wrote a message to each of you last night and it’s not here! I even copied the whole thing as I always do before I publish and I don’t have that either. I’ve done other stuff since and I guess it doesn’t keep. So I’m here to start over.
Dianne, I guess your ultimatum to Louis about going to rehab after his next shoulder surgery is probably why he is considering not having it done. Why are men so stubborn? My Hubby was the same way. He wouldn’t tell me when something was wrong because he knew I would make him go to the doctor. The night he died, he was watching a Giants vs A’s baseball game on TV and phoning his friend who was watching it, too. They were each rooting their own team and called when their team scored. He didn’t tell me he was having chest pains until the game was over. By then, I had to call 911! It was already too late. He died right after the EMTs got here.
JL, well, Clayton did finally get rid of Shanae, but as you said, she may come back. I do believe the producers influence the Bachelors and Bachelorettes decisions on eliminating the cast members. We like to watch train wrecks!
Mary, you guys are getting some really bad weather. Have you had to use the generator, yet? I could never live in that kind of cold. Don’t forget to take a pic of your purple hair. I really want to see it.
Bebbi, does your daughter live in Florida? Is that why you are there? Loved the pic of your granddaughter with the wax lips. I remember those from when I was a kid. It was a really long time ago!
Here I am! I don't know where time went! I guess I have been busier than I thought! Justlin, I'm with you on seen once seen enough lol! Well, except for Italy. I have been there twice and would love to go back! I am so glad to hear that you don't have gout! Infections can be bad too! Good thing it was found and taken care of! I am fascinated by "Around the World in 80 Days!" on PBS. Love all the Characters and all the awesome places they go!
Hey there Diane! You sure have had quite a few days! I am glad you put your foot down about the next surgery!We love our men, but enough is enough, especially when if things were reversed they would probably only last one day at nursing lol! I saw that you put your TT tickets up for sale. From reading above, looks like you may be going after all? BTW, no I didn't touch the mouse lol! I was about to reach down to pick up a piece of a shirt and spotted it. Yuck. I did wash the clothes again, minus the mouse. I found the 2nd one because I was using a flashlight (still using it!). It sure takes me longer now to unload it with a flashlight in one hand lol! So far no mice! Jim set traps in the basement and got two. Hopefully that was it!
Barb, we have used the generator a few times. Twice last winter and a couple of times this summer. Just knowing we have it is such a comfort to me. Zoie & Queenie both love it outside. Zoie has been wanting out a lot more lately. Not sure why? It's getting so she doesn't want to go out to her fenced in area. I show her her leash and she gets excited because that means she is going for a walk. I have to keep poopy bags in my pocket lol!. In her kennel area I just scoop up and throw over the embankment. Our weather has been bad this year, actually, this month! Last Thurs, & Fri kids had no school and may miss this Fri. The weather pattern shows next Thurs & Fri will look the same!
Mary, no we’re not going on this planned trip. I canceled all the hotels and got our money back. My cousins that live near there are still going and thought their friends were buying our tickets but it fell through. I think I got a buyer online from the tenor fans, hope so. We r having now 4-8” of snow over night. We have pt at 11 so hope it’s done by then but getting louis to the car and driving g won’t be easy. I wish we could stay home. Can any of you believe I’m saying that? I cant! I was so pleased with Dr appt today and he showed us the before and after X-rays …pretty interesting. Getting our mail hasn’t been too easy. The mailboxes are on the other end of the area. Barb got it for me this weekend. I took a tote and got it yesterday. The mailman was there and he’s know louis so I told him my dilemma and was so nice to check on me. Little by little I’ll do all of this …. We r still watching most of the Olympics. I’m kind of hit and miss.
Barb, Bev’s daughter lives near her in Kentucky with the granddaughter. That’s s sad about your husband. Did he have heart issues before that time? Louis is ok to go to drs but he wants to be home otherwise. I hope his other shoulder holds out for awhile. We have his back procedure coming up next anyway.
JL, I think it’s fun that you are going out to eat more often now. I think we only can stay locked in for so many years. I had to chuckle a tiny the other week. My uncle that is Louis’s best friend has stayed away from us a lot during this whole pandemic. His daughter is a nurse so told him about 6-8 weeks ago that Covid was getting worse so they canceled Louis’s weekly lunch and pretty much hibernated. Well…two weeks ago his wife came down with Covid. She thinks from either hair or nails. I find it interesting that they wouldn’t be around us but went ahead with other activities.
Bev, I hope you’re having fun in Florida. R u at the beach? When do you come home?
Seaside, what are you going to do now that for all is over? Do u watch baseball? Louis will watch some boring car racing.

Yuck! I have been under the weather for a couple of days! My yearly sinus headache, nasal drip/congestion!. I think my running up & down the basement checking on the flooded garage activated it. Mold and dampness are not my friend! I just have to let it run it;s coarse as usual. I hate taking meds, but will take something tonight.
I am usually getting ready for a cruise or going to some all inclusive Mex. resort about this time of year! *sigh*
Mary I recently joined a group on FB titled "View From My Window". People from all around the world post photos they take of the view out of their window, either home window, hotel window, car window, whatever. You get the idea. It's not like traveling to all these different places but the next best thing. Would you like me to send you an invite? Does anyone else on this blog want an invite? There are some really beautiful and interesting photos, whether they be from Iceland, Kansas, or Ukraine. Fascinating and rather soothing.
Hi…Well, it’s -2 tonight. High today was 9. It’s snowing too but not tons. It will last until Thursday. Sunday will be 60. Louis is doing pretty good. Of course his shoulder is bothering him but this bag is still our main issue. He’s doing a lot for himself…not emptying or changing the bag but getting dressed now on his own. I left for a couple of hours today with him saying he wouldn’t get out of the chair or call me as I wasn’t far away. I called to check on him and he said his bag got full so he tried to empty it himself sort of. He should of called me and I doubt the bag was full it never his and I just emptied it. I came right home and he was fine. I’m not comfortable leaving him and won’t with the bag again. Hopefully he will get it off Friday. Tmrw we have a dmv appt and then I have a dermo appt and then get taxes done at 3. Busy day so I really hope we don’t get much snow tonight. Mary, I hope you’re feeling better today. Sorry you’re not doing great. Do you have anything to take for a sinus infection? Maybe you need to call dr. Have you been able to rest any? Good thing u got your hair done last week. JL, that sounds like a fun group u joined. Thanks for asking but I think,I’m busy enough without another website. Fun that u get to see all those countries. Do the people talk with each other on it too? Barb, what’s up? I’m going to come looking for you. How are things going with your sister and her finances? Boy, that would be a hard job. Just getting ready for our taxes tmrw was like a huge job. We itemize so adding everything up for medical and prescriptions takes forever. But it’s all ready to go. We r adding me to the title on Louis’s car for death purposes. I don’t know why I wasn’t on there before but my friend that her husband died two years ago. Found one item that she’s not on and has to go to Probate over it so that’s why we checked. Plus I have had a handicap sign but wanted license plates but couldn’t get it for louis car as my name wasn’t on it. So that’s why. Seaside and Bev…missing you both. I’m going to nudge but Bev I know you’re on vacation.
