Logic cont..

 by Dianne

The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture. 'Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.’

A small voice at the back of the room rang out, 'And there's the teacher, she's dead.’

  1. I may have laughed a little too hard at this lol!!
I took Zoie to get her annual shots today. I walked Jim's dog because he was having a hard time breathing this morning. He took all his meds incl his breathing apparatus and seems better.
    Dam those cigarettes!
Wed. is my monthly lunch with my retiree friends.
I have been cleaning and rearranging closets. I have more stuff to donate.
Thurs. I have my eyes checked and hoping I can still stay off of daily drops. I don't miss that at all!
This is my mundane life list for this week lol!

I have forgotten what questions were asked of me in the last blog so I will jog over there.....

  2. Dianne, Your Birthday party sounds like fun. I have not sang Karaoke in a long time. I really miss it! I had to give up doing partys since Jim had his stroke. He can no longer help in loading and unloading my equipment. He gets tired easy and would not be much help staying up the long hours.
I am thinking of downsizing my speakers and maybe do some volunteer gigs at nursing homes & assisted living places, with me singing.
Keep up the good work on your WW!
Keep us updated on your "rfa" treatment.

JustLin, I did not bake Jim's cake. I ordered it from our local grocery store. They did a good job. It was a white cake with buttercream frosting. I have not had German cake in a long time. I am not a big fan of the coconut topping, but I eat it anyway lol!
Too funny on the Amazon mix-ups!

  4. Mary Well, I was the last one who posted on the previous blog so I was hoping we'd hear from the other owls before it was my turn again. Plus, I have nothing exciting to talk about. LOL

The only thing of note that has happened to me was a few days ago when I had Safeway do my grocery shopping for me. They usually do a good job and if they have to make a substitution for something I ordered, it usually makes sense. I get notified by text when my order is ready to pick up and they send me an email copy of the receipt. I try to check the receipt before I pick up so I can see if there were any substitutions I should be aware of. Well, this particular time I had ordered a large package of the brand of toilet paper that I like. Apparently, they were out of it. Usually, if this happens they just give me a different size bundle of the same brand. Not this time. Instead of large bundle of toilet paper, they gave me a $27 giant package of paper towels! What? I don't think I'll be using paper towels in place of toilet paper. They also didn't have the brand of a dozen eggs I wanted so substituted 18 of their own brand. So when I went to pick up my order, I immediately took the paper towels and eggs back in and got a refund on those items. Fortunately, I didn't really need the toilet paper but there was a good discount I wanted to take advantage of. What I didn't notice until I got home and unpacked the groceries was that instead of giving me 4 carrots, they gave me 4 pounds of carrots. That's a lot of carrots for one person. I didn't feel like going back to the store so I gave some to my friend when she came over later in the day. I don't know who had been doing the shopping for me that day but it must have been a young guy who doesn't know what he's doing.

Mary, if you get smaller speakers, it would be a nice thing to volunteer your karaoke talents and entertain residents in a nursing home. Maybe even have sing-alongs.

    Everybody else, where are you?

  5. JustLin, I have just recently gotten on the "pick up groc." band wagon. I am liking it! I especially like that I don't have to lug 2 cases of bottled water to my cart, then to my Jeep!
I also note, that I am not spending nearly as much money, since I am not "browsing" the isles lol!
Matthew and Jim seem to be bottomless pits lately! Jim especially. Not sure what's going on lol! I know Matthew has more "awake" time when not driving his school bus.

I was on my way to Ionia yesterday on my usual route. I came close to where I turn (on a hill). I have the right a way( north & south) while the opposite (east & west) have to come to a complete stop. We have had many accidents there because people are not paying attention and think of it as a 4-way. Well I was coming up to my turn and I could see people running back and forth on the road up & down the hill. I looked and saw car parts all over the place! To my right there was a demolished Jeep in the ditch. People were frantically trying to pry the doors open to help whoever was inside. I didn't see the other car as I didn't feel I should try to drive through, so I turned around and went a different direction. I couldn't believe an elderly couple drove right through and around the mess to make their turn!
The ambulance and police were not there yet, but I heard they shut the whole intersection down. We rarely hear about the people involved unless they are local.
I am not sure I want to know :(

  7. Here I am again. I can’t find my post I did the other day but here goes again. I was missing all of you even if u don’t have much to say..at least it’s a check in. We r still have 100 degree temp. Breaking a record every day. At least I’m not out much in it but the car and steering wheel r sure hot when I get in after lunch.

Mary, how was lunch with you’re retired friends? Nice that u keep up with those lunches. One of my old work friend that moved to AZ came in for the week for some eye surgery. I picked her up sat with barb and we went to lunch. Nice to see her. Today barb and I just went to Applebees to catch up alone. I think it would be nice if you did the karaoke for small places and they would love it, I’m sure. Plus you enjoy it too.

JL, I wouldn’t be happy with all the grocery mistakes. We did it during the pandemic but we were having some of those problems too. Now louis just goes and he doesn’t like me to go then it costs more. It’s a pain for me to go anyway. Needless to say, we don’t have that many groceries besides milk. Four pounds of carrots is a lot.

Barb, Bev and seaside where the heck r u? I think I’d better nudge.

My Texas family r coming into town Thursday until the following Tuesday. We r having a family party on sat at Tammy’s. She’s having a taco bar and others will bring appetizers or dessert. I’m bring a couple of cookie trays and help financially with Tammy. We’re going gambling in Blackhawk next Monday and Tuesday they r going shooting with louis and my uncle Doug. It will be a fun week. I love when they come. They’ll stay with Tammy.

Well, that’s about it. On my way nudging way. Bye
