  1. Hello all….sometimes this scarf but not even be during quarantine …right Mary? Going up to 55 today..we’re excited….Snow tmrw
Won’t be long until we leave for cruise. We leave Feb. 7 and praying the weather will be ok since we r driving. I was up at 4:30 this am. I hate waking up so early. Batprn, I hope u get your phone working..miss u. You’re going to have to be the text blogger for awhile. So, u can’t even read what is posted? I’ll try and send it to you. I’m still cleaning up the messy house from the holidays. It seems like it never ends. Denver is anxious today or week as the broncos finally won a game Sunday. We fired our coach and the temp coach did it finally. He’s only been the coach for two games. Mean things said about the coach. Sad went to dentist for cleaning yesterday. Not too fun

Going to breakfast/lunch today so good thing I’m up early. That’s it. Talk to u all soon. Mary, how’s Jim ?

  2. Dianne Have you started packing for your cruise, yet? LOL I wish I had a cruise to look forward to. I forgot; where is this cruise going? I think it's good that you got Louis to agree to using a scooter. It will be much easier for him and he'll probably wonder why he didn't do it before.

I am planning to keep my Christmas decorations up for when my daughter comes at the end of the month and we can celebrate late. At least, that is my plan. I did finally take the wreath of the door because of the high winds and torrential rains we've been having. I'm very stressed about how saturated the ground is from the rains, combined with the high winds. I have a two very tall trees that would cause a lot of destruction if they came down; a cypress tree and a redwood tree. There have been so many trees coming down, flooding and mudslides in California.

There's a break in the rain at the moment so I've put out more birdseed and peanuts for my bird and squirrel visitors. My two ravens are back today. I haven't seen them since all these rains and winds have started. I also saw the neighborhood turkey walking by in front of my house. I have no idea where that turkey hangs out during the night, hopefully high up where no coyote or other predator can get it.

  3. Barb I miss seeing you on the blog. You aren't missing much from me as I am not doing much more than hunkering down during these storms. I know there's been a lot of downed trees and other problems where you are, too. Stay safe.

  4. JL and barb. I hope you’re both staying dry and safe and that no water reaches you. I’ve been watching those storms out there. It looks really horrible in Santa Barbara …scary. This weather is already crazy this year….everywhere.
We r going to the western Caribbean to Cozumel, Honduras, and costa maya. We will be staying on the ship this time around. We r doing a specialty lunch at a fancy place. It’s $25 a piece for lunch for steaks, etc. I figure that’s r excursion. We will be having a lot of extra things with the Texas tenors. Judy and Tammy r members too thanks to me p. Judy loved them but Tammy has never heard them so she’s not quite so excited. Another tennorette is decorating my door for me. Judy (cousin from Texas) ordered a banner for her door with their pictures on it and it says cruisin’ with the Texas tenors it will be fun.
My worries r not comfortable regarding Louis. I guess he fell last night when I was asleep. He crawled to the bed and got up. If I would have known, I would have called 911. He wasn’t hurt.
Off to Ww tmrw. That will not be a pretty sight.
Did i already tell you all that I crashed the side of my car into the garage. It cost $1014 to replace the mirror. Had to get tires ..another thousand. Just received car ins bill for the year $3504. It went up $551 for no reason other than the rates were going up next month is license plates for both cars and louis long term ins. It’s overwhelming. I’m about to have a go fund me page!
JL. I hope your 49ers make it to the Super Bowl.

  5. I am not quite at the end of my rope yet lol!

JustLin, I have to check my self when it comes to Jim. I get frustrated when he complains about congestion and other non emergency ailments. I told him that he will not get rid of the congestion just sitting all day. I encourage him to do stretches in the morning and taught him a few acupressure points.I give him balanced meals and try to keep a smile on my face (mostly to keep ME in check), to ease tensions.
All of the oxygen tanks were taken yesterday. I was a bit afraid of them...4 tanks plus the little machine thingy which Jim called "R2D2".

I decided I have done all that I can and have gone on with my life. I have gone to a Birthday party, visited and helped a friend who is organizing her "she shed", and went to lunch with friends. Seemed good to get out of the house. Now if I could just hop on Dianne's cruise lol!

Dianne, Sorry about Louis falling. How scary! Glad he didn't hurt himself! Jim tends to fall out of bed so I placed large pillows near the bed.
Your cruise sounds wonderful. I am sure all will go well once you are aboard.
Ins. is a necessary evil! I will be celebrating next week. My Jeep will be paid in full! $515 in my pocket!

I have been thinking about my Cali friends. I see all the vids on the news and feel so bad for those going through the flooding. So many properties in ruin!
Keep us posted gals! O worry about you!

  6. Hi everyone….just wanted to drop by and hi. Possible snow here tmrw day and tonight. Hopefully small amount. We leave three weeks from tmr on trip. I’m busy making lists for clothes, jewelry, shoes, etc. I have a few items of clothes ordered still. Hope they fit How are things in Calif. our news shows terrible. It shows a lot in Sacramento. Is that affecting you, barb? I sure hope not. Text us and let us know what’s going on How r undoing JL? Worried about u both. Mary, what’s new with you? I notice that neither of our teams r playing in games this weekend. At least your team almost got to play. We don’t even have a coach…again

Went to see the movie A Man Called Otto with Tom hanks. It was a great movie. I totally recommend it. You laugh and get a little teary eyed too. It’s really good as any Tom hanks movie usually is all the time.. hadn’t been to movies since Elvis movie came out. I forgot how much I love to actually go to the movies. There’s a good one with Diane Keaton, sally field, etc, and Tom Brady coming up. It looks so funny. I’d also like to see the Whitney houston movie.

Well, it’s about time for my TTT Zoom call so I’ll sign off just wanted to say hello and check on everyone

  7. All is well here in Mich. Jim is doing fantastic! He has not had a cigarette in 3 weeks! He is walking and doing more around the house, which gives me a much needed break! He hasn't attempted to drive yet. I am not sure how he will do. I am glad he is not rushing it!

I have brownies in the oven and making breadcrumbs from stale bread for tonight's meatloaf burgers. The guys favorite.
Hope all is well with my owlettes!

Dianne, I forgot to push "publish your comment". This is a shorter version lol!

  8. Dianne Jane and I went to see A Man Called Otto today and we both loved it! A couple of older women who were seated near us brought a whole big box of Kleenex with them. LOL Besides its touching moments, there were a lot of really good laughs in it, too. After the movie, we went to the new The Cheese Steak Shop that opened in our town. Usually when we had a craving for cheese steaks, we'd have to go in to San Francisco for it. When Jane's husband was still alive, the 3 of us would go to the shop in S.F. It would be a nice drive up the Great Highway, then a turn inland and making note of the Victorian houses we passed that we especially liked. Nice memories. Jane and I going to the new local one isn't quite the same but the food is just as delicious and certainly more convenient.

It looks like the 49ers will be playing the Cowboys this Sunday. I understand we are sticking with Purdy as our QB even though Jimmy G is deemed okay to play. I'm glad as Purdy has been killing and he's the one that got us to where we are. Jimmy G is a super guy and has been totally helpful to the other QB's and the team, in general.

Sorry to hear about your little mishap with the car. Pretty darn expensive for a side mirror, isn't it? Well, as they say...shit happens.

I hope there are no more falls for Louis or you. It sounds like you'll be having a lot of fun on your cruise. Are you packed?

  9. Mary Congrats to Jim for not smoking. It sounds like he is coming along well so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he continues on this path. I'm glad you are out and about and "doing your thing". You deserve it and it's good for Jim to become more self-sufficient, too. God knows, men would let us baby them as long as they can get away with it. LOL I'm glad he isn't driving as I'm worried about him driving himself to the casino. That's where he is most likely to start smoking again, I think. It's part of his ritual there and breaking the rituals is almost as hard as the actual nicotine withdrawal.

We're expecting rain for a few hours tonight and then we should be done with the rain for a while. We are looking forward to sunshine all next week. Yay! Our ground will finally be able to dry out.

  10. Dianne, I have to say, at least the Lions gave us some exciting games this year. Just too little too late. As we ALWAYS say... maybe next year lol!
I don't remember the last time I went to a move/show. I can't even remember what movie it was! No one around here goes anywhere. :(

JL, Jim drove into town today, about 6 miles just to test himself. He went to get a newspaper. I am trusting he didn't buy cigs! I didn't notice the "odor" on him. He may go to the casino with his buddy next week. There is no smoking in there. I forget if his buddy smokes.
I just can't be stressing over it. I think he knows this could be his last chance. His body can only take so much abuse!

I went to our GM Retiree luncheon at our union hall yesterday. Our ranks are getting small :( They read off a whole big list of those gone in the last 3 months. It was a long meeting because the last meeting was cancelled due to the storm we had. The man that reads off the minutes is a bit slow. They hold bingo right after. I never stay. I just don't have the patience for it lol! I did win a part of the 50/50 drawing :) Last Sunday I won 2 squares on a football pool..$250. I hope my luck holds out for the Super Bowl!

  11. Hi guys…..how r u all. Barb, did you go to phone company and get phone fixed? You need to do that soon. JL..I’m cheering for your 49ers. I’m kind of surprised they r using the 3rd qB. We’re watching cinn and Buffalo. The snow looks terrible We were supposed to get 12” more on top of what we have but it changed last night to a trace. I sure hope so. I have things to do this week. Kayla will be doing my color this week for the first time Thursday. . I’m a little nervous. Barb and I went to see The Whale yesterday It was an interesting movie. I think I liked it better than barb. It certainly held my interest but it was a little dark. I want to see 80 for Brady. It’s looks so funny. We loved Otto but it even brought me to tears at the end. Wasn’t it funny when dr told neighbor that he had too big of a heart? I love Tom hanks anyway. .no I’m not packed. Suitcase got brought in today. We had handyman’s son come and do a list of four things for us. I had to get a tv for bedroom as the other one pooped out. He set that up for us and took the old one with him, got suitcases , loved a piece of furniture for us and only charged $40. So worth it. We really just needed some help.

Mary…that’s so great Jim isn’t smoking. I hope he sticks to it. Maybe his last episode scared him. I’m glad you’re getting a little break too. You should go to,a movie. There r so many good ones finally! I think,it’s great that u go to your job reunions. I do that too. We will,be having our 60th reunion this summer. I’m getting so darn old. This week I hope to start packing. I have some things layed out sort of …….Louis has been watching football all weekend I’ve been peeking in on it.

Barb really misses ng you. Come back.
