This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Happy Valentine Day! Just another day here in Michigan. Jim & a buddy are at the Casino while I am home sweeping out garage, gathering my recycle stuff, setting out garbage container for tomorrow, Dusting, mopping, shaking out rugs & washing rugs. also washed towels, made home made tortillas for burritos later. All by 1:30 and I didn't get up until 9:30! Well, time to make the filling for the burritos, shredding cheese & lettuce.
Pretty dull around here. Waiting on another winter storm watch for later this week.
Dianne, I see you are back on land now. Did you have any problem putting both scooters in your cabin? How were the TTT? Looks like you had a few family reunions. Looks like you got a tan too.
My Niece Raquel, her hubby and little Myla just left on a cruise. His Mother in law was supposed to go too, but with all the tension, Raquel's girlfriends took over her cabin. She is at their home and will be moving out March 4th thank goodness! Raquel had forgotten something and had to rush back in the house and found MIL already snooping in their bedroom! Crazy woman! They didn't even trust her with their dog lol. Left him with sis Lena.
Dianne I look forward to hearing about your cruise. I know you planned to just stay on the ship this time. I was envious of your family's pics holding the sloth. I would have loved to do that. How did things work out with both you and Louis having scooters?
I've been paying bills and doing other paperwork today. I had ordered a couple of clothing items from two different places and one didn't fit and the other I just thought was ugly when I saw it in person. What a waste of time. I had to get return forms printed out and will take them to the post office tomorrow. It's so disappointing to order something and then not have it work out.
Mary Raquel's MIL sure has a nerve, doesn't she? What a horrible person to make things so uncomfortable, especially with Raquel's condition. You'd think the MIL would be on her very best behavior. Is she mentally ill? I wouldn't have trusted her with my dog, either.
Nothing much going on here. I'm going to make tamale pie for dinner. Well, I'll have it for more than one dinner as there will be plenty leftover after tonight. I haven't had it in a while so am looking forward to it. Tomorrow my friend, Jane is coming over and I will make us fish and rice and she will bring a salad. After dinner we will watch a show together that we like.
Will you and the Jennifers be getting together to make Easter cards? I just signed up to attend another watercolor workshop next week on the 28th. I really enjoyed the one in January and am looking forward to this one. Several years ago, I took some painting classes from the artist who is doing these workshops, and I really enjoyed it so I went out and bought all sorts of paints, brushes, and supplies and did absolutely nothing with it. I guess I only get motivated when there is a specific date and time scheduled to do it. LOL Ever since I was a child, I loved art and took as many art classes in high school as was possible.
JL, thanks for the nudge. Sorry to be mia! Have been busy with family stuff. My friends and I will not be making Easter cards. We’ll be doing well if we get Christmas cards made.
Mary, I get exhausted reading your comments. You get more done in 4 hours than I do in a week! I wish I had your energy. I echo what JL said about Raquel’s MIL. So glad to hear she’s moving out! How is Jim doing? Still not smoking? Going to the casinos where a lot of people are smoking is probably very tempting.
Dianne, Glad you got home safe and sound. It sounds like you had some nice visits with family before the cruise.
My brother-in-law passed away on Feb. 11. He was 77. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s about 10 years ago and has been going downhill this past year. They didn’t have a funeral, but a celebration of life is planned for April 8. Then today I got a call that one of my hubby’s cousins died today. She was 75. This is what I hate about getting old! When we’re young we get news about weddings and babies. Now it’s about people passing away.
SacBarb, I am thrilled to say that Jim is still smoke free! Smoking is not allowed in the Casinos in Michigan. I think this last attack with COPD scared him. I thought about what made the difference this time since his stroke and being in the hospital for almost a month 4 yrs ago. I remember his Drs telling me that he would not remember much from that incident since he was out most of the time. This time he was aware of the process. He hated the oxygen mask and the helplessness of it all. He is also aware that the next time could be his last. Thanks for asking. He is doing well and had a good outcome on his stress test. The COPD is the only thing he needs to overcome. He gets impatient when he tires easy. Dr says that his smoking for over 50 yrs. takes time.
I am so sorry about the loss of your family members. I agree, I also have been going to too many funerals & celebration of life events, although I have had my share of many weddings, open houses and birthday partys lol. Jim side of the family is huge!

Barb Looking forward to tonight's Bachelor drama. I'm easily amused. LOL
