  1. Dianne Thinking of you and hoping all is well with Louis's surgery.

  2. Dianne, Waiting to hear how surgery went with Louis.
Did you find out where "Evoke" came from?

It was cold with a few flurries today. It is getting down in the 20s tonight. We had to bring Queenie in. She is in heat so has been in the out door kennel. She has plenty of straw, a heating lamp and the whole thing is covered with 2 tarps, but the wind is horrible!

We didn't go out for St Pats. I made home made pizza and hunkered down.
I am thinking of driving into Lansing to a Home & Garden Show tomorrow. I have always loved going, but each year my legs bother me more. I will have to wear compression socks for sure.

Well, I am sure I have bored you by now lol! Take care and have a good week-end all!

  3. Hi…I sent an email to each of you on Louis. Thursday night was awful with him falling twice. He was at grocery store and they helped him out in a scooter. Then he came home and collapsed in garage. I was an hour away so thank goodness he had his phone I called 911. They got him in the house and put refrig groceries away. When I came home he was in the recliner and couldn’t get up and was very confused my sil James came over as there were a lot of things that needed to be done before surgery day. Bathroom was a hard pull for James to get him out of the chair
.. now we are alone last night and it took four try’s just for me to get him up to use walker to go to bathroom. It was a very stressful night for me. He slept mostly. He barely knew where he was all night. I wanted him to go to er but he didn’t want to as he was afraid his surgery would get canceled. I was afraid he was having a stroke. I had no idea how I was getting him to car early this am. He was just a new person this am. He used the walker and got to the car by himself. Tam came over and went to hospital with me and barb met us there. Barb spent the long day with me. It was a horrible night. I had to do things I have a hard time doing around here…
    But I did it.
Mary, I have no idea what or how that got on there. I wasn’t on fb at hospital today for sure. I’m going to bed soon but just came and sitting in recliner relaxing and listening to music. I know louis is in a safe place now and no stress …so, off to bed I’ll go. Thanks all for thinking of us and prayers. ❤️

  4. Dianne, what a time you have had! It's more proof that he needs to go to a therapy facility after his surgery. Your own health could be in jeopardy!
I didn't receive an email from you.
There have been a bunch of data breaches in FB. It took me a while to realize I was answering to some "bot" when I was conversing with an old high school friend in her FB messenger! I had to block her.
I hope you are getting rested up before going to the hospital. Please don't push yourself! Like you said, he is in a safe place right now.
    Love yah!

  5. Well, here I am. I should have tried this a long time ago. It may have been my problem all along. I don’t have much to say, but wanted to check in. Other than making an arrest in the case next door, the only update I have is that one of the victims that was critically injured has died. One of the guys that lives there works nights or he would have been there also. Luckily, because he was at work, he missed the incident! Chad talked to him and he doesn’t know if he’s going to stay there. That was three days after the incident. We have heard nothing since then. Have only seen people going in and out, taking furniture out.

  6. Woo Woo, just stopping in to let you know I am still alive & well!
I just made a chicken dinner and taking a break before cleaning the kitchen.
My Son-in-law who lives in Montana started to make the journey to us yesterday, and got stranded in the mountains for over 5 hrs. He sent me a vid of all the truckers backed up on the snowy highway. When it was clear to go, he turned around and went back home. He said he will wait until April or May for better roads.

Jim is still smoke free! I am amazed and so proud of him. Every day he walks a little farther.

We had a tree specialist stop by this morning to give us an estimate on our White Pine tree. There are big branches all over and a huge one hanging dangerously quite high. It is barely hanging on! Whit pine branches are heavy. Even the smaller ones are too heavy for us to drag. It has been weeks since they came down in a nasty storm and Jim was making zero moves to have it taken care of, so I made the call. After he left I asked Jim when the guy would be back to take care of it. he said he told the guy he would think on it and call him! I swear! He said he was first going to check with our ins guy, duh, I asked him to do that weeks ago! Yup, I am ranting lol!!

Mother Nature has not been kind to us here in Mich! I had to go to a celebration of life for a ex coworker friend of mine yesterday. Well, of course we got pounded with heavy slushy snow!
I went, and drove 45 mph all the way. By the time I headed back home, most of the snow had melted.
Well, time to head back to the kitchen.....

Surly you guys have SOMETHING to vent in here too lol!!

  7. Mary I was awakened at 6 this morning by a very sharp jolt and loud bang. I got up to check that my big trees were still standing. Thankfully, they were fine but the storm was still raging and that was noisy all on its own. I don't know why the turkeys were out and about but I could hear them gobbling. The jolt had been an earthquake centered right here in Pacifica. It was only 3.5 quake but because it was centered here, we felt it big time.

Congratulations to Jim! He's doing so good at not smoking. His last stay at the hospital must have really scared him. I just realized that this month makes it 17 years since I quit. I'm so glad I did. I wish I would have never started. Maybe then I wouldn't have COPD now.

I don't think I knew you had a son-in-law. I thought it was Jim's son that lived in Montana. Anyway, I'm glad he chose to put off that drive until conditions are better. It seems the weather has been harsher than usual for everybody.

  8. Barb It's good to see you here even if you are incognito. LOL It's odd how different browsers change what sites you can get on or not. I was having trouble with one of the games I play online a while ago. If I changed browsers, I could play it fine, though. It has since gotten sorted out.

We had tons of rain and wind since about 4 a.m. I am so over these high winds. It makes me anxious because of my trees and the ground is so saturated. We have even more rain on the way.

Have you heard anything from the homeowner of the house next door? I sure wish he would just sell it and then maybe you could get some normal neighbors.

  9. Dianne You've been doing a great job keeping us updated on Louis's recovery and progress. It sounds like he is doing really well. Are you starting to feel better about him coming home? Hopefully, it's all up hill from now on.

  10. JustLin, My bad. I was talking about my step son lol!
You have had quit a day! I had a cartoon visual of the turkeys being chased by Elmer Fudd lol!
The earth quake would not be so funny! We have had relentless winds all month.
We have had on & off weather. Snow, sleet, hail, then sunny,a all snow melted. Last week we had a day of white outs on the highway near us. There were over 200 cars involved in an accident. Luckily there were no fatalities.
Jim finally called out ins guy. He said unless there was damage to property, they would not cover the full cost of tree service. I think Jim said $600. We will be paying an added $1,200. They will be here Fri. to take pics and asses damage and maybe cover more of it. I'm just glad it is getting done!. One large branch partially hanging scares me!

"Unknown" how are you doing :) Can you come back as the "real" you?

    Bebbi and Seaside...check in please!
