When a group of tourists visited a crocodile farm, the owner of the place launched a bold proposal, "Whoever dares to jump, swim to the shore, and survive, I'll give you $1,000,000."
No one dared to move.
Suddenly, a man jumped into the water, desperately swam, and made it to the shore while being chased by all the crocodiles.
The owner announced, "We have a brave winner!!"
After the man collected his reward, he and his wife returned to the hotel. Upon arrival, the manager told him that he had been very brave to jump. To which the man replied, "I didn't jump! Someone pushed me!"
His wife smiled.
Moral - Behind every successful man, there's a woman who pushes him!
Bwah ha ha. Good one!
ReplyDeleteOur temps have been nice for a couple of days. Today it will be close to 70! Tomorrow in the 40s! Oh well, I am enjoying the break!
I have a male friend (Gary) that I have know since 3rd grade. His family moved away and I didn't see him again until my second marriage. He had moved to the same town I did when I remarried. He and his wife only live 5 miles from us.I found out Sunday that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer (leukemia). He has been given 3-10 months to live. I knew he had been ill, but mostly from COPD like Jim. I visited him in the hospital yesterday. His wife, a good friend) was there. She is 6 yrs younger than Gary. He can't go home with Hospice care until his blood numbers are up. So far needing platelets every day. He is also bleeding internally. He looked so tired. He has signed a DNR and says he is ready to go. So sad.He was a heavy smoker and drinker, even when diagnosed with COPD and on oxygen.
Jim is back to smoking, so this really scares me, that and two of my friends have become widows in the last two months.
Jim has left for the Casino, so I will get some work done here lol! Changing his bedding, laundry, et.
Later.....
Jim & I will be visiting Gary at 4:00.
ReplyDeleteHe has decided to forgo any further treatment/no more platelets. Since he is also bleeding internally,it probably won't be long for him. :(
What a change in weather! In the 70s yesterday, and me outside in my sandals, now 23*. Oye vey!
Hi. Mary, I’m so sorry about your friend. It's hard seeing friends be so sick. I have a good friend only 60 and went for a checkup a year ago and was diagnosed with a brain tumor he had surgery a year ago and it came back so just had surgery again. I’m very worried about him. I’m glad you’re doing ok. I wish you could go to Vegas ..I won’t be going again either.
ReplyDeleteBarb, it will be nice for you go to Todd’s house for awhile and visit too change of scenery is nice sometimes. I drove farvtwicevthisvweek once in like a tornado to Greeley about an hour and a half away. It was terrible about blew me off the road! Tuesday I was going by Colo spgs and it turned into a blizzard. No one went faster than 35 mph on the hwy I left at 9:05/am and got there at 11:30: our plan was to meet at 10:30: you couldn’t see the lines on hwy. when we left at 1:40:the sun was out and streets were dry!, it wasn’t a fun day and on top of everything I got lost to a place I’ve been many times.
I think I’ve just about talked Louis into having someone help us from time to time and possibly my cleaning lady…more later
My Friend Gary passed away 2 days ago. My Auntie Minnie passed away today. She was my Dad's only remaining sister of 5. She was 98. Two funerals this week *sigh*
ReplyDeleteI worry about Jim. His breathing has been getting worse. Almost any activity wears him out. I can hear that "smoker's cough" getting worse! Not much I can do. I catch myself from scolding him. He knows without my telling him.
Well, I have been putting off cleaning the kitchen today. So, off I go!
Hello everyone. I’m at Kaiser waiting to get X-rays of my shoulders. The physical therapist thinks I need to see an orthopedist, but before I can get a referral I need to get x-rays and get cortisone shots to see if that will help. If that doesn’t help, I get to see the orthopedist. I get my first shot on Friday. I sure hope it helps! I’ll let you all know how it’s going.
