Live Like You Were Dying
Live Like You Were Dying
by Mek
God has a very odd sense of humor. Friday night, as I was feeling as though my purpose in living was not needed anymore, He was taking the life of one of the most wonderful people I have ever met in my life.
Friday night, Chris, her husband and her 17 year old son, were moving some furniture from her mother’s house to their house, when the mattress fell out of the back of the pick up truck her husband was driving. Her son was following his dad with mom in the car. They both pulled over to the side of the road – had their flashers and blinkers on. Mac told Chris to “stay in the car so that you won’t get hurt, we’ll get the mattress”. So, while Mac and Daniel were dealing with the mattress, a drunk driver plowed into the back of Chris’s car, slamming it into the back of Mac’s pickup truck and crushing her and killing her instantly. While her husband and son watched and they were not injured. The horror of it all, I can not imagine a young boy watching his mother being killed. The irony is that she wanted to help with the mattress, but they wanted her to be safe and out of harms way and now, she is dead. Just like that!!!!!
I met Chris when I interviewed her for a position in the orthopedic practice that I managed in Colorado Springs. As we sat down to start the interview, she said, I can’t believe that I am meeting you, I had the biggest crush on your brother in high school and I am very nervous talking to you.” I assured her that she had nothing to worry about (hell, it was just ME and I did find it kind of cute). We reminisced about high school – I hired her on the spot.
Chris and I became good friends. She had a heart of gold. She was the kind of person that NEVER (and I mean NEVER) had a negative thing to say about anyone or anything. You could give her the worst task ever and she would take it, complete it and NEVER complain. She and I joined Weight Watchers together and helped each other keep on track. (We both fell off the wagon when I moved; we didn’t have each other to lean on to keep that weight off).
She and I both became our mother’s care taker, her mother passed away last year – I felt terrible that I wasn’t there for her, but kept in contact thru email. She just became a grandmother; she loved that little girl SO much. We had gotten together every time I have gone back to Colorado and were planning our next meeting for July.
She wrote me the nicest letter after I moved to Arizona. Letting me know that she had taken me for granted while I was there, and that you never know what you’ve got till it’s gone. Telling me that not only was I a good friend, but the best boss EVER. She made me cry……it’s these kinds of things that made me miss Colorado SO much. Now, I will have a HUGE void.
Today, I have realized that I have taken a lot of things for granted. Life is pretty damn good and I am not living it to its fullest. I am the only one that can change things – I have always known that, but haven’t always practiced it.
So, for my dear friend, Chris, today is a new day. I will wake up and make the most of it. I will miss you my friend. God Bless you and please watch over me.

Oh Mek, that is the saddest story I have ever heard. To think that dear husband and son were trying to protect her by keeping her safe in the car and then watching the car get crushed with her in it is a nightmare they will never get over. I am so sorry for them and for you losing your best friend. I will now be crying for a while. My thoughts and prayers are with the three of you today. May God rest her soul. We all love you Mek.
ReplyDeleteGood morning,
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad and tragic. I feel heartbroken for you.
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteJoey congrats on first!
Sacbarb: I was not around yesterday but looked at your pic on MS all I can say is wow you are so beautiful!
MEK what a wonderful blog and tribute to your friend.
I am so sorry her family had to witness this tragedy my prayers go out to them.
It does seem to me that Chris may indeed be looking after and out for you. She has in a strange way held out her hand and said look at what is here and now.
You are and were so lucky to have her in your life. Many ((Hugs)) to you today!
Mek like everyone else today, I cried as I read your blog. What a wonder tribute to your friend. I am so sorry for your loss. (((((HUGS))))) to you and her family.
ReplyDeleteMEK, thank you for sharing this with us. I know it was difficult for you. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I don't know what else to say. This really choked me up.
ReplyDeleteI hope the love from this nest gives you strength to cope.
Mek - Today is my grand daughter's first birthday. I have been so sad for the last two hours since I read about that horrible tragedy I couldn't even think of it. Now I just re-read your last paragraph and I am going to try and have the best day. I could see from what you said in area 51 you were trying to live life to the fullest. I am going to try and do that too. Take care. I will be back this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteMEK thank you so much for sharing your loss. I am so sorry.
ReplyDeleteMEK:
ReplyDeleteNothing but hugs come to mind.
Thank You for sharing.
MEK,
ReplyDeleteI know there are no words that can ease your pain, but I hope you can feel our arms wrapped around you today. My heart also goes out to Chris' husband and son. I can't even imagine what they must be going through. Prayers for all of you.
I'll march to TWENTY for my friend.

She truly was ONE OF A KIND - I could have gone on and on about what she meant to me - so I hope I have come close..... I'll be back later today to share the story of the cow picture - it will bring a smile to all of our faces..
This blog took me FOREVER to write yesterday, as I had many, many tears - happy and sad ones!!
Thank you, Joey, IBB, Tinka, Scirish, Ronnie, Birdie, EBJ, Lynn D, Shirley, Jennifer, Iteach, Turtle, and Amicus..

MEK: Tears are still streaming down my face after reading this beautiful tribute to your dear friend Chris. I hope you will share it with the McCord family when you go to Colorado. There really are no words for a time like this. I'll just repeat what I said on your MS blog....We can only pray that a high tide of happy memories of Chris will flood their hearts to wash over and smooth out the jagged edges of the pain they (and you) must now feel.
ReplyDeleteand thank you for the painful but gentle reminder that we all can do more to honor the fragile life we've been given.

ReplyDelete25 for MEK
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Owls!
ReplyDeleteOn Saturday I was told that my father was taken to the hospital in Baltimore and was hanging on to life in the ICU. I struggled with making the trip to Baltimore. My father and I had discussed this long ago and he did not want me to leave my kids to come and say goodbye. We both believe that it is not a goodbye... it's a see you later.
I just got a phone call from the hospital and received such an amazing gift. I got to speak to a doctor at the hospital that was willing to take the phone to my dad and let me say goodbye, I love you, my kids will always know about you and that it is OK to let go and stop fighting. He has been fighting for 7 years... and his body can't take anymore. He isn't expected to make it thru the day, but I know that he knows that I love him and will carry his memory on with my kids.
MEK, I am so sorry that you friend was taken from you without warning. The chance to say goodbye is a true gift, but I believe that she knows that you love her and miss her. And I believe that it isn't goodbye, but see you later. We only need to say goodbye to the body because the spirit will continue to live in ways we may never understand.
I am going to go find some Black Eyed Susans to plant. They are the state flower of MD and will come back every year to remind us of my dad who grew up and was very proud of being from Baltimore.
I will miss you daddy.
MEK-nMy prayers are with your friend Chris' family and with you and all of the friends who lost her. She sounds like a lovely woman.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your tribute, it was beautiful and I am humbled that you shared with us.
((HUGS))
GLYNIS_ My heart goes out to you.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you received the gift of saying goodbye.
((HUGS))
MEK - What a beautiful tribute to your friend. Please pass along my deepest sympathies to them. ((((HUGS)))) to you dear ME!!
ReplyDeleteGLYNIS - What a beautiful gift you have been given. Cherish this time......I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to my Mom or my brother. What a great idea to plant those flowers....they will make you smile every year when they bloom.....just like your Dad is saying Hi!!
I have had a heck of a time getting into blogger today! This is the first time all day, that I have made it this far!
ReplyDeleteUrggg...frustration!
Mek:
ReplyDeleteSo very sorry for your loss, we spoke last nite, I am here....
What a beautiful blog, beautiful tribute, beautiful friend!
My heart is with you today!
Joey:
ReplyDeleteCongrats on First!
Glynis:
ReplyDeleteOh my, what a treasure...
I am really at a loss for words today!
I will be back later!
Oh MEK...I'm so sorry you have lost such a dear friend. I'm glad that you shared with us pictures and stories of Chris. She will be remembered now by many people who will know that she was loved by not only her family, but by a wonderful woman we all know here as MEK_in_AZ.
ReplyDeleteMEK: I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend Chris. Your blog today is a wonderful tribute to her, and a gentle reminder to all of us.
ReplyDeleteI find myself guilty of not living life, but merely existing at times. I need to reflect on this, and change it.
You know I love you MEK, and will be thinking about you and Chris and her family today.
Heartfelt {{HUGS}} to you, my friend.
Glynis....we spoke on the phone already. I'm glad that you were able to have that phone call to the hospital. Sometimes it really is a good thing to have closure.
ReplyDeleteYou will be in my thoughts today also.
Hugs....
GLYNIS: I am so glad that you were able to say goodbye..not just for you, but for your father as well.
ReplyDeleteYour last line brought tears to my eyes. {{HUGS}}
Such a loss of life so tragically and unexpectedly always will leave us in shock. This is very sad and my heart goes out to this family. It always seems cruel when things like this happen. Your mind will only go to why, why, why. That is my experience.
ReplyDeleteI had time to adjust when my Aunt was dying from cancer. I had no time to adjust when my friend Michael got killed on his motorcycle by a drunk driver at Christmas. I was still reeling from baby Steven drowning in the pool on the family's first day of vacation. They say that God never gives us more than we can handle. He certainly cuts it close. I don't mean that to sound bitter. It's just what I feel.
Glynis
That is wonderful that you were able to talk to your Dad. You can always cherish that conversation in your mind and heart.
Big bear hugs to MEK and Glynnis today!
ReplyDeleteMek - I am trying to be happy today for you. My baby grand daughter will be here soon and as you said we must live each day to its fullest. My baby was just starting life as my sister was losing hers so I guess life goes on. We must accept it but it is so hard to do. I will go and light a candle this evening at the church.
ReplyDeleteI have put a new pic up of a amazing night owl
ReplyDeletePerhaps today is a day where happiness seems to be hard to find, However we all need to look at the wonderful things we do have, that surround us, and be grateful!
So we go forward, we move on. But we never forget!
Now, Guess away!
I say that owl is Jennifer!!!!
ReplyDeleteAgain a beautiful owl...
Damn we are a good looking bunch... !!!!

Carol it's in the 90s here today. It is supposed to "cool off" on Weds.
Glynis: My thoughts and prayers to you and your family as well. I think giving our loved ones permission to let go is important when their body can no longer fight. I know how hard that can be.
ReplyDeleteTina: I hope to see good news about your dad's appointment!
Glynis...Here I was crabbing about the terrible day I was having and then I read your post....The last line made me cry. Prayers and hugs to you.

ReplyDeleteK'girl - crap - I missed the march..
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing - Chris was SO prim and proper - (I know, I know - HOW WAS SHE FRIENDS WITH ME!!!) LOL, I just can't see her finding the humor in "this" kind of race!!! LOL
But - i am getting a HUGE chuckle out of it!!!
EBJ - cpgem thru that AMAZING the other day to make us all think it was YOU!!!
Glynis - My thoughts and prayers are with you today too. It's so hard to lose one's father even if he feels he is ready. The phone call was a blessing.
ReplyDelete78
ReplyDelete79 - Your turn Mek
ReplyDelete80 - I did it for you.
ReplyDelete81 :O)
ReplyDeleteThe hint is "So happy to be graduating". Now that could mean Jennifer graduating now right? And yet Jennifer's picture on myspace with a graduation cake looks different. Mmmm.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure Tina? You are my mentor.
Okay - The Cow Picture....
ReplyDeleteEvery Halloween, the staff would come up with a theme and then plan accordingly......
It was Dr. C's FAVORITE "holiday"
this particular year, was the year those cow costumes had come out and we KNEW it would just gross out the doctor. So - the front office and myself got the cow costumes and our two x-ray techs dressed as the "Cow Hands" - Everone did different things with theirs....... Chris had labeled each of her utters with White Milk, Chocolate Milk, Strawberry and Mocha...one gal tied little bows on hers..... one had a huge cow bell hanging around her neck...
when we saw the doctors arriving thru the back window - we all laid around the hallways with those plastic utters sticking up in the air and we were moo'ing!! They just about laughed their asses off.
SO - Dr. C got this great idea for us to close down at noon for the day and go to the Lonestar Steak House for lunch....... when we arrived, the manager of the steak house LOVED our little herd - paraded us thru the kitchen so the cooks could see and everyone eating thought it was great..
WELL, we had to order chicken that day - cuz, you know, we couldn't eat BEEF!! The "cow hands" ordered big steaks!! LOL - it was one of the best Halloween Day's we had had...
I had some great memories flood back yesterday looking thru pictures. I will really miss her.
Tinka:
ReplyDeleteThe Hint is:
An amazing owl from the nest :O)
The caption under the photo is just something that comes to my mind when I see the picture!

Good Evening Lovely Owl's (yes, you men too, I think you are lovely too)
ReplyDeleteI think the pic is of Jennifer too.
Just stopping by to say HELLO!
Not nuch going on here. I hope you all are feeling a little better this evening!
Glynis, I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, but very glad that DR. arranged for you to talk with him.
(((((((((HUGS)))))))))
I did get outside for awhile, before it got too humid. Ruby G (one of my dog's) was chasing butterflies. It's kind of funny to watch her do that. She never catches them, but it's like the butterfly flies low on purpose to tease her. As soon as she get's close, it flies higher. Some day's it goes on for hour's. I did have to laugh at her, so that was good.
Not much in the mood for cooking, so my dinner was good old healthy oatmeal with my fresh blueberries and banana's. I did think of you MO..while I ate the berries!
I think we will be having more storm's tonight. I like to go outside just before they start and stand in the cool breeze.
Well, guess that's it..on my rambling. Have to get the dishes done, so I can enjoy the breeze.
Just wanted to say Hey!
Thinking of you ALL!!
xoxoxo
Well it might make me feel better but I don't know how to explain this to the red relatives!
ReplyDeleteWell this friend of mine....
Lynn d:
ReplyDeleteOh my I just saw that, I was to busy shitting and marching :O)
LOL...one of your relatives!!!!!
Birdee!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSmile :O)
You ate "mush" you felt like mush yesterday, so does that mean you ate yourself?
Lynn D - LOL at red relatives!!
ReplyDeletehugs and kisses to you!!!
thank you...
I know I tell you all ALL the time - but you ALL are the greatest!!!!
I think it would make the guessing more fun if we were given a hint. "Amazing" would have been a great hint for EBJ. Otherwise, I'm just staring at photos thinking, "Nope, don't know that one either." ;)
ReplyDeleteGlynis: {{Hugs}} for you too today.
MEK I was going to email you after I saw a "Bachelorette" commercial last night. Looks like DRAMA will be happening.
ReplyDeleteOh, Glynis I'm so sorry about your dad. You and your family are in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteTink- Happy Birthday to your granddaughter!!!
ReplyDeleteCarol, I get it. That saying didn't mean anything. There I go finding hidden meanings when they are not there. Lesson learned.
ReplyDeleteBirdee - I didn't get a chance to answer you about the History channel show you watched. No I have never seen it but it looks interesting. I enjoy the history channel too.
My little grand daughter will be here in 15 minutes so I am trying to find things to keep me busy. I brushed my 'babies', talked to the cute sprinkler man who is setting up my watering system for the summer that I don't think we will ever get. He was cute but not bright. He wanted answers to where all the shut offs etc are. Aren't they supposed to come with that information.

Just a quick guess on the pic before I have to go to Tim's baseball game.
ReplyDeleteI think it's our lovely JennHOfer!!!
TINK - Please wish your granddaughter a very Happy 1st Birthday from Wisconsin!!!
Iteach - Thank you. I don't know where this past year went. It seems such a short time ago I was rushing up island to see her for the first time. I guess you can identify with that. I bet you find your children are growing up all too quickly. They aren't babies for long. Did they miss you as much as you missed them?
ReplyDeleteJodi - Thank you for the birthday wishes for Naomi. I am going to have her mom put in her baby book that she got wishes from all over the States. Not many babies have that in their baby books.
ReplyDelete127
ReplyDelete128
ReplyDelete129
ReplyDelete130 and I am gone until tonight. Have a good day everyone.
ReplyDeleteJodi - Your card just came in. That is 3 she has received. I am going to take a picture of them and print them so they can go in her book. That's what I did with all my birthday cards. It made a nice scrapbook. Now I am gone.
ReplyDeleteOK....I'm saying that todays beauty is Jennifer!
ReplyDeleteMEK and Glynis, My heart goes out to both of you at this difficult time. Life is so fragile and we often take it for granted. MEK, thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteI want to thank everyone for the kind words about my grad picture. I so appreciate it. It was kinda fun to dig that out and relive some of the memories it conjured up.
good evening feathered friends!
ReplyDeleteI have only read a portion of the comments, but I want to post while I am able to.
MEK...dear Mary Ellen, I am so sorry for your loss. Your tribute to Chris was so heartfelt and emotion packed. I can't thank you enough for sharing that here. I think I can safely speak for most people when I say we are all guilty of not living life to the fullest. We think there will always be tomorrow. And as evidenced by this tragic event, there isn't always one. Chris knows how much you love her and will certainly be watching out for and over you. Go thru all the stages of mourning at your own speed, then begin to honor and celebrate her life more then mourning her death. I know...easier said then done. But in your heart I think you know that she would want you to go on...until you meet again. Ginormous {{{{{hugs}}}}} to you and Chris' family.
GLYNIS...I am saddened that your father is so close to passing away, yet glad you had the chance to say goodbye to him. He will be watching over you and your children, until some day far, far away when you will be together again. And with each black eyed susan that blooms, it is his way of being close to you. Ginormous {{{{{hugs}}}}} to you and your family.
TINA...anything that can cross is crossed for a great report from the doc for dad. {{hugs}}
My guess for graduating owl is KAHONUGIRL...TURTLE
Ok, I am going to finish reading posts now...
Oh geez...pipe broke under the kitchen sink..stinky slimey water all over the floor and in the cabinet...Mr. Z is up to his elbows in thick black sludge..he assures me he can fix it..I begged him to let me call the plumber..and he banished me from the room. He's grouchy, grumpy, stinky and stubborn!! He is determined to fix this on his own. Oh Lord he's cussing a blue streak..I think I'm gonna need a room with a view.
ReplyDeleteZona: Sounds like you have a Cliff Huckstable on your hands. Have the plumber's number handy. And I'm not even gonna say anything about butt cracks...
ReplyDeleteTINA: Lovely talking to you last night. I have been praying all day for a good report on your dad.
ReplyDeleteTINKA: Please tell your beautiful grand daughter Happy Birthday for me!!
JODI: Hope Tim touches them all!
ITEACH: Welcome back..now that flight wasn't so bad was it??
VIG: Miss you!!
CPGEM: I KNOW I'll need Happy Blue tonight.
DIANNE: Get back in bed.
I'll guess JENNIFER too..such a pretty picture!
Back to peeking around the corner at the grump in the kitchen! Hi to everyone..
SACBARB: Let me put it this way...when I yelled for help..he was in the shower...kay??
ReplyDeleteJust got up from a MUCH needed nap - (no, the card is still NOT made) ....
ReplyDeleteand what a great place this is..
I go from reading SacBarb and Mo's comments - which had tears streaming down my face to Laughing my ass off at the BUTT CRACK comment!!
Zona - hope the pipe is fixed soon.
You guys are great!!!!
Zona: Hoping that hubby can fix the problem! (Why do men feel it is beneath them to call for help? I think it's the macho thing)!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! LMAO!!! (Thanks for the visual too)!
crap - I left out HEARTFELT comments from SacBarb and Mo..
ReplyDeletethank you both!!
and thank you for the laugh!!
isn't it amazing how your emotions can switch that fast!!
Is everyone having an excellent day???!!!!
I'm back~~
ReplyDeleteMek~continued prayers and support for you and Chris's family. I've read your tribute again and she was so fortunate to have you for a friend.
Glynis~I know today has been the toughest day of your life and I'm sending prayers to you and for your father to have a peaceful passing. I'm happy you got to say good-bye on the telephone, but really is special is the closeness you two shared long before this day. Enjoy the flowers every Spring, knowing they are a little piece of your father being sent your way.
EBJ, Whabby & Just_Lin: I just heard that Stockton and Lodi have the highest gas prices in the COUNTRY! CRAP...we can't be far behind.
ReplyDeleteTina~Hugs to you and your Dad as hopefully there are good reports from his doctor.
ReplyDeleteZona~Sorry about the plumbing and having such a mess. At least when you see Mr. Z squatting down there, it's not like you're looking at a new behind on a stranger.
Tink~ Happy Birthday again to your little Naomi.
My guess for the beautiful Owlette picture is Kahonugrl. Why I say this is because the ever popular 'wings' haircut and smile. Most all girls in high school about the time k-girl was had 'wings'. That's my guess, and I'm sticking to it.
The AMAZING Bachelorette (as Mek would say) is coming on now.
Waving my best wing to everyone who flew in after me this morning.
Smiles to you, Carol.
Mo:
ReplyDeleteYour comments were beautiful!
Wow....
Ronnie:
ReplyDeleteYou are hilarious, I can always depend on you for a laugh!
lol..behind on a stranger!
And
On a serious note, Kudos to you as well! Great comments...
Zona:
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry Scrooge has arrived early at your house...At least as Ronnie said you get to see him from the behind...
Also, sorry about your plumbing problems...
All I can think about right now is a plumber fixing a sink, bending down, his pants are past his crack...
Just so funny!!!!
Tinka:
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your grandbaby!
Oh, Forgot!
ReplyDeleteZona:
Happy Blue
I need to read the rest of the comments, and work on some blogs. I will be back later!
ReplyDelete:O)
Jodi & Goldie: I hope you are nowhere near all the flooding happening in WI. The news showed houses floating down Lake Dalton after 10 inches of rain caused it to flood. YIKES!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust got back from Tim's baseball game.....he did well!! Started off pitching, but also played 3rd and 1st base, too. He got two great hits!!!
ReplyDeleteZONA - So sorry for your plumbing problems.....totally sounds like what MR. JODI would do....damn stubborn men!!! SWAK Moose for me!!! :P
TINA - How was Dad's appointment today?
Stopping to fly by real quick. It has been a challenging day and there is so much more to do.
ReplyDeleteThe brakes in the van went out and we had to get them replaced today.
The rain has kept the kids caged in and they are acting like wild animals right now.
Carolyn has a temp. of 101. We are going to take her to the doctor tomorrow.
So busy day!
I will fly by later tonight.
SACBARB - I haven't seen it yet, but my Aunt Jane said that the lake is no longer there.....flooded right into the Wisconsin River. Holy crap!!! Gonna go to my local station online and look that up. And no, that's about an hour north of me.
ReplyDeleteITEACH - Well, when it rains, it pours doesn't it?!!? I really enjoyed your pics of your trip!!! You two are so cute at the game. Oh, btw....did the Cubbies win?
ReplyDeleteNo they didn't win, but we had a great time anyway! :)
ReplyDeleteYou know I was looking at our beautiful owl grad pic again and I think I want to change my vote.
ReplyDeleteCan I do that Huh? Huh?
Well I am so get over it.
I think it might just might be Amicus!Hehehe
thank you for all the well wishes....we have had good news every time we've gone to see the doctor...this time was a little disconcerting....I'm not really sure if it's good news or bad~ The lab work didn't come in and THEN the doc told us that dad's count was elevated.....it didn't make sense....so when I got back to my parent's house, I checked my notes from previous visits and I think the doc got his counts reversed~ So....we go back in August and are going to make sure the lab work is in this time~ Thanks for all you "crossers!" :)
ReplyDeletelol zona~ could you take pics of any possible plumbers butt? :)~
ReplyDeleteIBB~ did I congratulate you on #2?~

ReplyDeleteOwl has been revealed!, an a amazing owl she is
ReplyDeleteDamn, I should have paid attention to your clue, Carol.
ReplyDeleteJennifer~ Just a beautiful, beautiful you. You're a huge ray of sunshine and I'm so proud of all your accomplishments this semester.
Love to you, my kindred 'purple friend'
MEK: Your tribute to your friend Chris was vert special. Thank you so much for sharing with all of us. It is so hard to loose a loved one and friend and then for it to be in such a senseless way too. My prayers are with you and all of Chris' family.
ReplyDeleteGLYNIS: I am so glad that a doctor took the time for you to speak with your father. Sometimes it seems like they are all in such a rush--so that doctor is pretty special. I am glad you were able to talk to your dad and say what you wanted to say to him. You will always be able to keep those memories alive with you and with the children.
Good thoughts to both of you today on this hard day.
TINA AND ZONA: Did my mom appoint you two to take her place on this earth and tell me to "rest, stay home and get in bed"? I am, I am but I am not doing it in a very cheerful manner.
ReplyDeleteTINA: I would be a little upset myself about the doctor kind of giving you mixed signals..Hope all will be okay.
I had a friend I hadn't seen for awhile come over and bring some lunch for awhile today, so that was a nice change for the day.
Ok...going to (sigh) rest and watch TV....xxoo Dianne
Whoops...one more thing...TINK..HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your little granddaughter. It seems like she was just a tiny baby and now a year already..Put this in her baby book from Denver, Colorado
ReplyDeleteWell, (I just love that word) the bachelorette just sent an AMAZING person home. How can she tell someone they are amazing, but you're going home. This is turning into a sitcom.
ReplyDeleteThe one I'm rooting for is still in the house....AMAZING.
Hi, to my friend Dianne-bloggin'-in-Denver. Sounds like it was a pretty good day for you today.
ReplyDeleteI saw on the news this morning that it was 42* there. Must have been nice.
Take care of you...
Ohhh I was wrong. But Jennifer you are just lovely!
ReplyDeleteI really thought I was on to something when Carol put AMAZING in the quote!
SacBarb my gas station down the street has jumped up 30 cents in a week. It was $3.99 right before the holiday, and that Monday went to $4.17, then $4.29 where it's been since Friday. It's sickening.
My station is one of the lower ones, I've seen $4.49 at quite a few.
Zona my husband is that way too. He currently (for the past week) is working on the Corvette, putting in a new alternator. The car is still sitting in the garage, with the hood up.
I'm afraid to ask when he is going to finish! He also has some work to do at the other house, the tenants have put holes in the walls and door. Plus there is water damage from either the bathtub or toilet upstairs, which you can see on the ceiling.
I tell him to just hire someone but he says I CAN DO IT MYSELF, WHY SPEND THE MONEY IF WE DON'T HAVE TO.
So I say ok, we'll see if he gets it done.
Iteach hope you had fun on your trip! I have to check out your pics.
Hi Dianne! How are you feeling?
Ronnie, thank you for the AMAZING update. I am so looking forward to The Bacheorette tonight, as I'm sure MEK is too.
ReplyDeleteHey Ronnie ...
ReplyDeleteMe too ..I am rooting for the one in the house...
and I counted in the first half hour... 18 AMAZINGS!!!!
And I knew that beautiful OWL was .. is Jennifer!!!
HEY ebj and ibb~
ReplyDeleteIt's a good one tonight! Enjoy...
Sometimes these men act like junior high school little girls.
IBB - only 18 - they are slacking!!
ReplyDeleteI have less than 10 minutes before it starts...
Jennifer - thank you for sharing your beautiful picture!! I really had NO idea it was you - but went along with the rest of the guesses!!
Dianne in Denver - you better get well!!!!!!!! that's all I have to say - and thank you for your kind words..
Tina - hugs to you, your dad, and your family.
Ronnie - :-)
OH - and it should get up to 106 tomorrow - YIKES - but it could be worse - we could live in Phoenix with Zona and be 110!!
ReplyDeleteLOL
HI EBJ: I am feeling okay when taking the meds...we shall see as I have about 5 more days to take them and I go for the next CT SCAN on Thursday. RONNIE: It was a nice change in the day.
ReplyDeleteBecause of all of you...especially MEK....I find myself counting how many times they say AMAZING on the news and then I hear myself saying it!!
Ronnie: Our weather is pretty nice and I thought it was hot today at 74!!! I think 42 was probably in the mountains but it was much hotter this time last year (I say in a whisper). I can't even imagine being where all of you are at such high temps and then adding on the humidity!!
ReplyDeleteZONA: Is that pool warm yet?
Dinnne:
ReplyDeleteGreat to see you! Glad you are resting and glad you had a nice visit with a friend today!
Tina:
Thinking of you and your dad. I am so glad you take notes about your dad. I thought I was the only one!
