Essex County officials today declared a state of emergency in the wake of Tuesday night's violent thunderstorms that left thousands without power.
More than 40,000 homes in Essex County remained without electricity this morning, many of them in Nutley, said Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo. Authorities hoped to have most homes and businesses back online between 7 and 10 p.m., DiVincenzo said. At the peak of the power outage, about 90,000 homes in Essex County were left without electricity.
Roadways today remain littered with downed trees and wires. More than 50 state and local police officers were dispatched to intersections to direct traffic today, said Fred Scalera, deputy director of the Essex County Office of Emergency Management.
on with this weather, never in my
wildest dreams did i ever think a
tornado could hit NJ, i have never
seen what i witnessed last night
the pounding of hail the size of
golf balls, hitting my deck, the sound
was deafening, teared right thru me
wind, blowing, in every direction
my dad at 83, frightened, "its ok"
i told him, "it will pass"
without warning, my lights flickered,
my computer shut down, my tv went black
our house grew quite, a eeire quite, so
strange
i have no idea how one survives with
no power, i was going out of my mind
sleep did not come, as the sweat got
in the way, what a long night
all is safe, and of course that is what
matters the most, however i wonder
so, what has happen to our atmosphere
i really think last nite, i witnessed
"global warming" yes i think i did!

ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning...
Okay -how the heck did that happen!!
Off to read the blog -
I hope everyone has an excellent day!!
:-)
glad you are safe Carol
ReplyDeletecongrats on 1st MEK!!
Hello hooters!
cpgem - I am SO thankful that you are alright...
ReplyDeleteI had NO idea all that weather was going on back East - I tried to sleep in and now I'm out of the loop!!
I'll go catch up on The News and be back...
Good Morning, Goldie!! and all those that were posting at the end of yesterday (that's how I snuck in at first - I was here and ya'll were back there!!)
Wow! Carol, glad you and your family are ok! We got the bad thunderstorm and the hail, but nothing like you did.
ReplyDeleteGood morning
ReplyDeleteCongrats Mek on #1
Goldie, Hi again.
Carol, that must have been so scary. I'm glad you and your family are all okay. Hot night, I can imagine. I hate them because they seem to go on forever, especially when you keep turning your pillow over and over for a 'cool-spot', and there isn't one.
I guess Global Warming is really taken hold. Makes one wonder what Mother Nature has in store for us in a few short uears.
Again, I'm glad y'all are safe.
Morning, Scirish...
ReplyDeleteGlad you're okay too.
that word is supposed to be YEARS...
ReplyDeleteHey Mek - You slipped in first while all of us had our backs turned for a minute. How are you today my dear? I hope you had a bit better sleep last night.
ReplyDeleteI think I will leave Regis. This is more fun. Off to read the blog.
ReplyDeleteOh Carol, that is so scary. That's what we were talking about in area 51, the strange weather patterns. As I said there, if you listen to "Coast to Coast" in the middle of the night George has many speakers on who have quoted the bible saying all the things that are happening now signify something not very nice, I don't even want to write down the word. I know I am praying a little longer each night.
ReplyDeleteI have said Good Morning to all the owls in the nest when we were waiting in area 51. I think Birdee left. I wanted again to tell her how beautiful she was in her photo. I wonder who it will be today? I think I will go back to Regis. Hi to all owls who are about to descend. Have a great one.
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone!
ReplyDeleteI am really running late! So I can't stay!
Power back on at my house, Power on at my office, however lights have been flickering now and then, which scares the crap out of me. I so don't want to close my office today! So I am praying the power stays on!
New pic up, of a amazing owl, did I say amazing, oh yes, I did
Happy guessing, and I will check back later
Mek:
ReplyDeleteCongrats on First!
Everyone:
Have a great day!
Oh the picture is up. Again I have no idea. I will say it's Tina until I see what Tina guesses. She has a magic globe she looks into and it tells her the right answer.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, I hope the power stays on in your office.
ReplyDeleteGood Day, Hooters!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been back to Area 51 yet, so I'll just wave a wing at all who landed safely earlier. Mother Nature is sure taking us all on a thrill ride this Spring, isn't she?
Carol~~Your blog gave a new dimension to the nest being our 'safe haven'. I guess if we can get here, it means we have electricity, haven't blown away, floated away or melted away!!
I'm with Tinka - I'm going to wait until Tina guesses who this is and then I'll put my vote in!!
ReplyDeleteOkay - I'm going to try to be productive today - get my mind off things again..
so - I'll be back later...
So - again, hope everyone has an excellent day!!
:-)
ok- I'll guess first and say it is Jennifer
ReplyDeleteHi Bon~
ReplyDeleteWell, I have no idea who the beautiful Owlette is. I think she is probably a sweet young graduating girl from the 1960's.
I'm leaning toward, Moweenie, but not dropping my guess into the ballot box just yet.
Goldie, is that you??
ReplyDelete"Pearly Whites" is the hint...
ReplyDeleteI have absolutely no idea.
I guess I should go check-out pics. with teeth. lol
Be back later.
And whomever you are, you're just precious with your little 'mushroom' top on.
Mek, congrats on first!!
ReplyDeleteGood morning goldie, scirish, ronnie, tinksatia, carol, and bon'o.
Carol, windy weather in NYC west side. Watching bad weather in NJ from the water on the west side and the wind kicked in on the west side. Things flying off buildings to crash thru windows. So much blowing around, was hard to see in front of you. Also hard to stay standing. Trees uprooted and then flying down the block. On west 62nd a scaffold fell 14 stories, amazingly no one was hurt!
Happy you are ok and got power back, carol. My son, dil and their 7 month old baby got stuck in it. They had to walk home from the water in it. Very frightening! Thank God they only had to walk 3 blocks.
Have a great day owls!!
Now I think our beauty graduated in the 1970's, or later. Well at least she graduated.
ReplyDeleteThis one is really hard.
I'll give my guess a little later.
I think the beautiful owl is lynn d, because of the mention of pearly whites!!!
ReplyDeleteGlynis~~Peace to you as you honor the memories of your father. "We Are Here".
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Owls!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for all the prayers and support the past few days. My dad finally passed away yesterday and I am so relieved to know that he is no longer suffering.
Carol, I agree...what is up with this crazy weather?? It is hard for me to relate to everyone suffering from the high temps because here I sit for the 3rd or 4th day wearing a turtleneck, sweater, long jeans and the fireplace on. I am freakin freezing and it is JUNE! I will be the first to admit, I would rather be cold than hot... but I want to do some gardening and enjoy some time outside. I keep forgetting to check my hummingbird feeders because I am forgetting that it is Spring!
MEK~ Congrats on being 1st! It is always amazing to me how many firsts come from people on the west side of the country.
And that photo MUST be you MEK! You have the same face!
OK, going to find some breakfast and see if I can get some work done. I will be back later to check in on you all.
Good afternoon!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe some of you are having cool weather with the 100 degree weather we're having!
Carol, I'm glad you're okay after all that bad weather! It must have been scary.
Tinka, Bebbi, Donna Jean and Goldie, thanks so much for welcoming me back. I really do appreciate it. And, thanks for the ms message, Dreama.
I'm guessing today's owl picture is Moweenie. When I saw the picture she popped into mind so that's my guess.
Glynis - wrapping my arms around you! My deepest sympathies to you and your family. I am SO sorry for your loss.....
ReplyDeletelove you
and like Bono just said..
WE ARE HERE!!!
Glynis, I'm glad your dad is no longer suffering and that you feel some relief. Hugs to you today.
ReplyDeleteWOW.....NOT ONLY IS MEK FIRST TODAY BUT SHE HAS HER BEAUTIFUL PICTURE UP!!!!
ReplyDeleteCarol.....we are having the freakiest weather here too. A tornado...IN JANUARY!! This is only the 2nd significant tornado in our town since I was in the 2nd grade. Yesterday I think our high temp was 56. It's friggen JUNE! I just don't get it. Wouldn't you think that Global Warming would mean everyone would be having super high temps? I guess I just don't understand weather patterns.
I'm glad you guys are all ok.
LOL Ronnie!! Turning the pillow over for the cool-spot! I do that all the time!
ReplyDeleteGlynis....
ReplyDelete(((hugs)))
Goldie I'm praying for all those whose life is in turmoil because of the weather. I hope non of our Owls are in jeopardy.
ReplyDeleteTinka: Maybe those speakers on Coast to Coast are right. There is so much happening all over the world!
Ronnie: Don't you want to cultivate this "friendship" so you can have your own custard?
MEK: Congrats on #1 Hope you have a better day today.
Waving a wing at Scirish, Bon'O, & Grandma Moses.
As for the pretty lady in the grad pic...I have no idea!
Glynis~
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you have lost your Dad, but I know how grateful you are to know he's no longer suffering. It's all about the love that you two shared that will go on forever.
Sending Comfort and Peace prayers to you and your family.
We are here.....
Ronnie
Glynis- So sorry for your loss but I know exactly what a relief it is when your parent is suffering and they finally pass. I was happy the day my dad's suffering was over.
ReplyDelete2 days till vacation! I have not packed yet, so think I might want to get on it tonight. I did make golf tee times though- have to set those priorities!!
Hi barbwa and sacbarb and sandi.
ReplyDeletebarbwa~ Isn't it awful to not have a cool spot? lol
sacbarb~ Cultivate??? I'm surprised he hasn't Fed-Xed that stuff up here to Houston. I know there is an endless supply anytime I'm ready.
Okay, I've narrowed it down to two guesses....Mo and Mek.
Okay, I'm guessing Moweenie, since we can't do a combo guess.
bbl
Afternoon Everyone!!
ReplyDeleteFlying in to see whose pic is up today.
I'm guessing MEK!!!! The pretty smile look's like her's.
Dear Glynis, I'm Sorry for your loss. Huge ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))
coming your way.
Sandie, I missed saying Welcome back!!! Nice to see you!!
Carol!!!!!!! Glad you are ok. Hope your power stay's on.
I think I may try and take a nap..and come back later..
Humidity is up again today.
Have a nice afternoon everyone!
bbl...xoxoxoxox
Afternoon Birdee....
ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon Owls!
ReplyDeleteCarol: Glad you and your family are safe. We lost power twice last week because of storms. Mother Nature is definitely wreaking havoc this year!
Grandma Moses: Glad your son and his family are safe too.
Glynis: My condolences to you and your family. {{Hugs}}
Sandy: Welcome Back! Great to see you posting again!
Donna Jean: Sending feel better {{Hugs}} for Laurie.
Waving HI to all the other Owls who have posted already!
I think BarbWA is right about today's pic so I'm copying her guess - MEK. :)
Jennifer and Lynn have already had their senior pics posted.
Have a great day, Owls!
Hey HOoters!!! Just wanted to post my pic before reading any comments.....I think our beauty today is MEK!!!
ReplyDeleteOk.....off to take Jake to the pool, then I'm going to visit Grandma. She is talking out of her head again. Not sure if the infection is back or if it is something else.
CAROL - So glad you and your family are ok!!!
I have to leave soon and Tina hasn't posted yet so I could copy her guess. I am thinking it may be Dianne?? or Bon??? or ??? I really suck at this.
ReplyDeleteI am off to a digital camera class so I can finally learn how to operate my camera. Be back tonight.
Glynis, I want to add my sympathies to those already expressed. I pray your memories will give you and your family peace.
Hello everyone. Still watching soccer matches....drool...!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to say that the picture is Maureen. However, I do wonder now if it isn't MEK. But I'm going to stick with my first guess!
Glynis, I am so sorry for your loss. Like so many have said, thank goodness your dad is no longer suffering, but it's still hard that he has passed. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
(((HUGS)))!!!

ReplyDelete47
ReplyDelete48
ReplyDelete49
ReplyDelete50!!!!
ReplyDeleteGlynis - My thoughts and prayers are with you today.
ReplyDelete((((Hugs)))))
CAROL: Sorry! I forgot to comment on the blog! First, I am so thankful that you are OK! I know how scary that can be! Back in the early 70's we had quite a few bad storms that did damage like that. I remember us kids in the basement and I could see my dad's knees shaking! (I think I was 4 or 5)!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I think global warming is responsible for all this bizarre weather we have been experiencing! I just hope it's not to late to reverse the effects!
OK...now I have to go and mow my friend's yard (at least she has a nice riding mower because she has a half acre)!
See everyone later!
Hmmmm SACBARB, so you think the picture might be me...I wonder if it is or not!!!
ReplyDeleteGLYNIS: Sending you hugs and thoughts in this time of your loss. I am glad your dad is at peasce.
MEK: I hope today is somewhat better for you but I know each day right now can be a challenge. Hugs to you.
Our weather in on a "cool down" today. Yesterday it was 90 but right now at noon it is only 54..perfect!!
CAROL: I am so glad you are okay. I would be like your dad...scared out of my wits!! I am not even too crazy about thunder and lightening much less all you went through last night. Be Safe...
JUSTLIN: Welcome home..I keep checking MS for detailed reports but not seeing anything yet. Maybe you should just do a blog!! :)
Sandie - I forgot to say how glad I am go see you posting again today. I like having you in the nest.
ReplyDeleteJennifer - Good you see you marching. I am not marching today. I need to buy new boots. My feet are sore from marching so much yesterday morning waiting for the owls to arrive.
SacBarb - I don't think I am going to listen to "Coast to Coast" again. If I wake up in the night I will say my rosary instead.
Barbara - Isn't this cold weather getting you 'down'? When they say Global Warming why do some areas have to be so cold? I must ask Al Gore that question the next time I see him.
Goldie - Have fun on your trip.
Amicus - I said Tina. I think it's Mek and I too am waiting for Tina with all her wisdom. I don't get the clue at all.
I will be back this afternoon to check. Have a good day everyone.
I know I haven't been here for a while - but I have been kind of lurking on and off. MEK and G - I'm so sorry for the pain you have been feeling and for the terrible losses in your lives. You are both in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteAnd hi to everyone else - miss you all and thanks SO much for stopping into my myspace and commenting on my pix of the love of my life!
I am changing my mind- I think the picture is MEK. I have been studing it and I am now convinced. For what that worth!``snort, ha, snort```
ReplyDeleteCG!! Welcome back!!!! Have been thinking about you.
ReplyDeleteHow is granny cg??? I get to see my babies in 2 days- I can't wait!
Hi everyone!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1st Mek and I think that is your school picture. I hope you finds some distractions today. ((HUGS))
Glynis I'm so sorry you have lost your Dad. (((HUGS))) for you and your family.
Carol I'm glad you and your family are ok. Two weeks ago I lost power from 10:30pm Sat. night until 8:45am Sun. morning. Without power I couldn't turn my CPAP machine on to sleep so I had to stay awake all night. Without TV or a computer it was a very long night. Plus it was very windy and heavy rains. Quite scary being by myself.
Have a good day everyone. Off to watch soccor. BBL>
Glynis
ReplyDeleteMy heart goes out to you. It is hard to lose a parent.
Grandma Moses
I'm glad that you are safe.
Carol
I am glad that you are also safe.
Sandie
It is wonderful to see you again and I gladly say it twice! :0)
I used to have a neighbor who was a meteoroligist and he would tell me many things of interest about weather patterns, hurricanes, etc. He has not been my neighbor for many years. I wish I still had contact with him. I would like to know if this is global warming or just a weather pattern that has been traced through out history.
Shirley
ReplyDeleteYou were writing as I was posting.
Waving hello. Have a wonderful day!
Hey back Goldie! OMG - is it POSSIBLE to feel this much love for another human being? This Grandma gig is just awesome! I haven't gone more than a day without seeing him and getting my cuddle fix - my daughter says he is like crack to me, so now I'm calling him my little crack baby - for some reason, she gets all worked up about that when I say it in public. Thanks for the welcome home, btw.
ReplyDelete*** waving at grandma cg!! ***
ReplyDeleteOMG CG! I love that....your little crack baby~
ReplyDeleteMek~ congrats on 1st~ oh...and how come you don't recognize your own grad pic? huh? well....now that I've told you, you can guess! :)~
Carol~ so happy you are safe....I have to keep track of the weather for work since it effects how busy we are and it's just been unbelievable lately. I don't think I've ever heard of a tornado in NJ~ scary honey~

WELCOME BACK HOTNANA!!!!!!!!!!
I say the thing I am going to miss the most about not having children... is that I will not have Grandchildren...
enjoy every minute... and I don't understand why she would get upset in piblic with your term of endearment!!!
good seeing you post...
I was told by tina yesterday that she is never wrong... so we better wait for her guess!!!
hope every one has a great afternoon...
I am heading to the pool!!!!
first time this year!!!!
later taters!!!!
Tinka....I'm just so darn cold. I put away all of my winter sweaters, now I'm freezing. I'm like Glynis today, a light weight turtleneck and a zip-up sweater. My hands are freezing, and I just can't seem to warm up. We don't want to turn the heat on here at work, so it's a little chilly. But we have been turning the heat on at home!! Just trying not to dwell on it. It's suppose to be nice tomorrow!
ReplyDelete** waving at sandie too **
ReplyDeleteBarbwa--
ReplyDeleteI would love to split the difference in temp with you...
OMG ibb....send some this way!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBarbWa--
ReplyDeleteJust picture the scene...
You and I layed out at the pool..(Private).. In my In-laws back yard... soaking up the sun... ............
Are you feeling any warmer...
HOPE SO!!!!!!!!!!!
really leaving this time...
Had to come back and warm up Barb!!!
Hi CG!! Grandchildren are the reward for all we lovingly invest in our children!!
ReplyDeleteTy Amcus, Dreama and Tina for the kind words.
Glynis, so sorry you are going through this loss.
Hi Everybody!
ReplyDeleteCPGEM: First and foremost, I'm glad you and your family are all ok. I love thunderstorms...but hate the wind that accompanies them. In a week or so it will be monsoon season in AZ. The thought of losing power when it is 110 degrees outside scares me every year. The harder the wind blows, the more I pray. There was one year we had a "microburst" which is like a mini tornado. I swear it went right through our backyard, and we lost power for 8 hours. I'll never forget it because my mom finally went outside, looked up at the sky and said "God PLEASE! C'mon, will ya??" before she got back to her chair..the power came on!!
Off to read the posts!!
**imagining laying by the pool in the warm sunshine, birds chirping, a lawn mower in the far off distance, a good Nora Roberts book in hand, sunglasses, sipping an ice cold pina colada....damn....now I'm cold again **
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteGood to see CG, GM, Sandie, Dianne and JustLin back in the nest! Flapping both wings at you!
ReplyDeleteGoldie~~Where did you reserve that tee-time?? Have a great vacay!
Iteach~~Is the family getting over the hump this hump day?
Well, if the pic is MEK, I still say she must have had a MEKals coupon to cash in and sent Goldie in her place on Sr. Photo Day! But it is suspicious that IBB's taking off without guessing.....hmmmm.
Just bundled up and went on a brisk walk...couldn't even break a sweat, it's so chilly. PNW buddies, I see on NWCN that we've had fewer days over 60* than any year since 1917 (only 18 days!). I'd love more sun (sorry, Jennifer!), but if it doesn't get over 75* all summer it's ok by me.
think the grad pic is....MEK!!
ReplyDeleteMEK: Congrats on FIRST!
GLYNIS: I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad.
SANDIE: Great to see you posting again! I've missed you.
TINKA: Love you!!
JODI: Have a great visit with your Grandma!
GOLDIE: Remember, I'll leave the light on for you!
TINA: Sooooo glad you got that 69 again today...;)
Waving HI to everyone..hope Y'all (for Joey) have good day...I have to go out and sweep the pool..swimming to begin this week!!
The deleted post was mine...wasn't quite finished when I hit "publish"..
Wow, zona, your mom has supernatural powers!! That is Tinka ~ right?
ReplyDeleteNice to see you too bon'o!
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteGRANDMA MOSES: My mom was just a regular mom, she didn't have any kind of powers at all.
ReplyDeleteTINKA is my wonderful, beautiful cool cybermom..and I couldn't love her any more than if she was my real mom.
**again deleted post was mine..maybe I should call it a day**
Hi everyone, flying in to see what's been happening since I posted in Area 51 earlier this morning.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Bon'O, if we are here, it means we are safe. My thoughts and prayers are with all those who are being inundated with this very crazy weather. It seems like all of the Owlettes are accounted for. At least I hope so.
Sacbarb- I too watched the Matt Lauer interview and could not believe what I saw and heard. Someone must step up to the plate and help these families, as the father/husband said that the Development and FEMA couldn't come up with a flood line, they were not able to purchase flood insurance. Now everything is gone! Even the land!
I am so very glad that you are OK Carol. I am sure your father was very worried, as you were also. Maybe an occasional Nor'Easter in Jersey, but a tornado?????
Also glad that Scirish and Grandma Moses and her family are all OK.
Glynis, my heart goes out to you today. Yes, your dear father is now at peace, and out of pain. My very best wishes and condolences to you and your family.
MEK- congrats on FIRST! And my vote of the beautiful High School Senior goes to YOU! From the few pictures I have seen of you, from the 1st BABB to the ones posted 2 days ago, I see a resemblance.
But, then again, Lynn D did just have dental work on HER Pearly Whites! It's a toss up , I can't decide now! Plus, I haven't seen a photo of Lynn. I'm glad we are not betting any money on these guesses, I'd be broke!
Welcome Back Canadiangirl! And congrats on your new baby grandson! I don't blame you for getting your daily fix. How lucky you are that your daughter lives so close. Enjoy these precious times, they grow up so fast. I can't believe my little granddaughter is now 19 months old! I was able to see her about a week ago, but I don't know when the next time will be. A month is too far away for this Grandma!
Kaiser was able to fit Laurie in to see the Dr this morning, Thank Goodness. We are baffled as to why she keeps getting this odd stomach pain. She had more blood work done, this time checking for H Pylori. The Dr was saying it might be stress, due to the fact that she is very aware of her upcoming heart surgery. She is sometimes too bright for us! She hears us all talking, and we have been very honest with her, so she won't have any unnecessary surprises when it happens. I'm not convinced though, of the stress thing. She is back on some meds to control the nausea. Hopefully she will get some sleep this afternoon, and actually sleep all through the night tonight!!
Have a wonderful afternoon everyone.
Peace and Love and hopefully a break in all the storms! Donna Jean
Glynis- I am so sorry about your father.
ReplyDeleteSandie did you get your hair colored today?
ReplyDeleteI am overdue too!
Carol I forget your not use to tornado sirens going off. I bet that was totally scary. I'm so glad you and your family are safe.
ReplyDeleteMy hubby went to the hospital now to see how grandpa is doing. He does well with the machines. However, the test will be when he is not on a machine. Sometime soon they are going to take him off the machine and see how he does.

ReplyDeleteThat was way to easy..
ReplyDeleteZona- I know I can count on you to leave the light on. I will be without internet service most of the time and not taking the computer. I will probably be in complete withdrawal! But might sneak on when I am visiting at my sons house...
ReplyDeleteHey HO's. Just got back from visiting Grandma.....she was in good spirits today, and not nearly as confused as she was yesterday. I took a pic of her and I together. Hoping to get it posted in my album on ms later.
ReplyDeleteGLYNIS - My deepest sympathies to you and your family during this difficult time. I'm sure he has found peace and is no longer in pain. Just remember to plant those flowers and smile when they bloom every year.
I just got a text from MARY/MI - She wanted to let everyone know she is on the plane ready to FLY!!! lol!! She said there is a priest on her flight....and was wondering if that was a good sign?!!?
GOLDIE - I'll try to call you before you take off!!! Have fun packing. :P
I gotta run.....making a quick supper, Tim's baseball game, then I have a staff meeting tonight!!! Good grief.....busy day!!!
Good Afternoon everyone. I am up from my nap and not quite awake.
ReplyDeleteZona - I love you too. Sometimes I think I have powers but then the word 'coincidence' keeps popping up.
I called it Tina but said I thought it was Mek. Now that Tina says 'Mek' I stand by that choice. We shall see. Mek are you listening to Tina and choosing Mek too.
Jodi - I am glad your grandma was in good spirits. It makes a difference doesn't it?
Barbara - I put my warm clothes away in a ritual that I do every Easter. Within two weeks I had dragged them all back out again.
Donna Jean - Good luck with finding out what is giving Laurie discomfort. (((Hugs))) to you both.
I am going to a computer meeting in a couple of hours so I will be back tonight.
yay...Mary is on her way....on Northwest~ (she said she was on KLM) don't tell her she is on NW metal~ :)~ Estimated a little early into AMS then on to France~ yay~
ReplyDeleteAww, you guys are all sweet! A special thanks for the shout out to Ronnie, Birdee, Amicus, Tinka, Dreama, IBB, Barb_in_wa, Bon'O and Zona!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, CG! It's always nice to come home to the nest, huh?
Yes, iteach, I got my hair colored today! I really needed it after only four weeks! And, I do lots of goofy stuff in between. I have lots of gray right in the front where it's most noticeable! I found this thing called "T'ween Time" and it's like a big ole crayon. I just wet it and "color" my hair at the root line after my shower! (It washes away when you wash your hair.) It gets me through. Sorry you asked now, huh? LOL
Jodi, breathe!! Geez, you're gonna be tired tonight!
ReplyDeleteHey Everyone... thanks again for your kind words and prayers. I am doing much better today.
ReplyDeleteBarb~ I turned on the heat here too. The fireplace just wasn't doing the job and I was freezing.
Tink~ With Easter being so darn early this year it was a bad year to put those winter clothes away. Just about a month ago we were dealing with record high temps and now here we are back to the rain and cold. Let's hope that the one week in May wasn't our summer!
OOops... I forgot to tell Goldie CONGRATS on a fine march to 100!
ReplyDeleteGlynis - I was being optimistic this Easter putting my winter pj's and coats away. I don't think I will be doing it again. By the time it's warm again (if ever) it would be time to bring them out in the fall. My little grand daughter no longer likes playing baseball. They have been playing since April and they and we ( the watchers) have almost frozen our limbs off. Last year this time I was passing around a fan with spraying water. I could have made money if I had charged them. Everyone was waiting to be sprayed. This year we have winter jackets and blankets. Go figure!!!!
ReplyDeleteJodi - I have a baseball game to watch Friday night and Saturday morning. I can't wait for the season to end.
Iteach - I hope your grandpa is feeling better.

I'm back for a minute to cast my final guess. I think the picture is of the lovely, crafty, Michael's patron, non-gravy makeing, golfer, AMAZING, MEK.
ReplyDeleteThat's my guess, and I'm stickin' to it.
Waving a wing to some who flew in after my last post this morning.
Good to see you Eunice, I've missed you. Hope you're doing well?
CG~Isn't it just the best thing to be a grandmother. I have one little grandson, and call him My Main Man. Congratulations, again.

ReplyDeleteHey hooters!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I want to add my condolences to Glynis and her family. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Hi and LTNS to Sandie and CG! CG I LOL'd when I read CRACKBABY!
My first guess when I saw the pic of today's owl was that it is MEK, and I'm sticking to it.
I thought it was her even before I read Tina's guess. I would have changed it to whoever Tina picked, but glad we think it's the same person! :)
Carol glad you're ok. My brother and his family live not too far from you and I have not heard an update from them today.
I have a kittycat princess who is waiting impatiently for her nightly brushing, so I will be back!
How could I forget! Congrats on first MEK!!!
ReplyDeleteI knew it! YAh- I got one right.
ReplyDelete;) MEK!
Horrible news in Iowa- they think a tornado struck a boy scout camp and lots of injuries and some deaths. Say a prayer Owls!
Hey everybody!!
ReplyDeleteMEK Congrats on first and also on being the photo of the day. I was leaning toward voting that it was you but wasn't sure.
Carol Thank goodness you are okay. I love the sound of rain but hate strong winds. One particularly bad storm had our power out for 3 days. It took out one of my pine trees which proceeded to take out about 100 feet of fence plus another of my pine trees and my neighbor's cypress tree. It looked like a bomb had gone off in my back yard. I just cried.
Glynis I'm so very sorry for you loss and am thankful that your father is no longer suffering. (((HUGS)))
Sandie and Canadian Girl Love having you back in the nest. Please get comfy and stay a while.
Goldie Congrats on the march to 100.
Tina Glad you got a 69er today. :)
Mo- I am baking away and leaving you all well stocked in brownies!
ReplyDeleteI think I am packed, now I just have to get thru tomorrow at work and the final last minute stuff tomorrow night then we are off early on Friday!
