Music for a Sunday!

The other day i mentioned how i got lost on you tube, well, i started out with Sugarland (thanks mek) and ended up with Bon Jovi and then of course, with someone drinking a beer!

I had no idea that the female vocals on the song "Who say's you can't go home" was the vocalist from Suglarland, what a nice surprise!

So for our Sunday Music Video, I thought I would share with you all my new favorite find. I also know how many of you love Bon Jovi, especially our Tina, so I think it is fitting, we start our day, with some delicious Bon Jovi, and a little of Sugarland for Mek!!!

Enjoy!

  2. Sorry I have been MIA, but I haven't been feeling so great lately. I have been battling migraines and allergies. I still feel the effects of a migraine (the shaky, weak feeling).

However, Katie has to serve Mass this morning, so I'm up...

  3. Carol, I had a DREAM about Jon Bon Jovi the other night!!! I dreamed that he was at park I was walking in. He just was like a "normal" person, and not a celebrity. I was talking to my friend on the phone at the time and she didn't believe me that I was walking with him in the park. He got on the phone and sang something to her to prove it! Then we started to sing together. I told him that I was mad at him for going "country" on me! He said I wasn't the only one! (Sorry all you country music fans...no offense)! I did love his music since I was in high school (and he wasn't country then). Anyway, we just were hanging out like we were long lost friends. Then there was a part in my dream where he was helping me get a tiger off of me (but when I woke up, my cat was climbing on me, wanting to be fed)! I guess he was the "tiger" in my dream! Darn cat! He made me wake up from a very delicious dream!

So, that's my "Bon Jovi" story!

    Have a great Sunday everyone!

  7. Good morning feathered friends.

JENNIFER...congrats on 1st! and 2nd thru 10th!I hope your migraine and allergies let up already. Feel better my friend. I wanna have the dream you had!!!!!

BIRDEEEE.....nice to see you this morning! I thought I heard a little cockadoodledo-ing! How are ya?

CAROL...can't think of a better thing then to wake up with JBJ!!

On a sad note, I actually woke up to a news bulletin. One of our local police officers was shot and killed in the line of duty at around 2 am. He was only 33 and the daddy to a 3.5 month old daughter. He was a member of the K-9 unit. My town is a quiet little bugh, only 12,000 people. What a sad thing to have happened here. Thoughts and prayers to his family and the entire police force.

  8. It is kinda weird. While at work yesterday, 2 officers came in. We always give them free coffee and sodas. After they had hung around and cooled off a bit, one of the officers asked for change for a 5 so he could put something in my tip jar. I insisted he didn't, because on a daily basis the cops do more for me and the rest of the residents and we never tip them. And they deserve a tip far more then I did for pouring 2 cups of coffee. And then to hear one of our finest was killed on the same day.

  9. Good Morning Owls!

I loved the video! Bon Jovi's greatness goes without saying, but I was impressed with the female's vocals. What is her name?

HI Jennifer (Hope you feel better soon), Birdee, and Maureen (How sad. My prayers go out to his family too).

Hope everyone has an enjoyable Sunday!

  10. Mo! Sorry to hear about the police officer. Prayer's for his Family and Friend's.

Amicus, Hello! That girl does have a good voice, but I don't know her name.

  11. The charity event we are having next week is actually for one of our local officers. His little boy has a kidney disorder that will take his young life. The money goes for his medical care and treatment. I have no problem with the donation, but I just wish I had been told before hand that our work that day was volunteer.
Our community is a tight one, which makes it even harder to hear of one of them being killed or harmed or ill.

  12. Good Morning jennifer,MO, birdee and amicus! Congrat 1-10 Jennifer, and I hope you feel better.

What a great way to start the day Carol. I love Bon Jovi and Sugarland- wish that they would do more together.

Mo, I am saddened to hear about the officer. A young life taken is always sad, but when it is someone doing a job to protect and serve the rest of us, it seems so much more tragic. It really does effect the entire community.
Bravo to you for generosity on insisting they not tip you. You are a good shit my friend.

  13. Morning Glories!

Jennifer got first today! Sorry you aren't feeling well. :(

I forgot Tinka got first yesterday! Congrats.

The music barely got my blood flowing and my eyes open though it was fun. Up and down with grandkids. LOL I am getting old.

Mo: Good morning. I think that is a worthy cause and wonderful that your boss donated the venue, but he should have asked all the employees first. A compassionate person would have let all of you know and asked who would be willing to donate their time and tips and if you had financial strains if you could donate something within your budget.

Anyway just my opinion. I hope at least he is providing meals for all of you while you are there.

I am off to fix hot cocoa for the kids see ya all later taters!

  14. Good Sunday morning everyone,

Sorry you've been feeling badly Jennifer. Maybe another walk in the park with JBJ would be a little bit of good medicine. Copngrats on 1-10.

Carol, love your selection of music. Thanks.

Birdeeee, So good to see you this sunny Sunday morning.

Mo, I'm so sorry to hear about the officer being shot, and how horrible for his family. Thoughts and prayers for sure. It's so sad that his baby girl will never know her daddy.

    Good morning Amicus.

  17. There was just a news conference. The asshole that killed the officer fled the scene. He was captured a couple of cities away and they have him and the gun in custody. He is a 23 year old that only had a previous traffic violation on record here in town. A resident heard the ruckus and the gunshots and called 911, and the officer was found on the ground next to his cruiser. The officer had began his career in a little tiny town and had recently asked to take on a part time job in that community in order to share and teach young officers the things he had learned here.

  18. Counting the bail money as we speak shirley....

  29. Goldie I set a plate of breakfast aside for you in the frig. Looks like Maureen is starving so I don't know how much will be left when she is done.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Morning Scirish! An egg in a hole is a fried egg placed on a plate with a piece of toast on top. The toast has a circle cut out...the hole. The egg comes up through the hole and you have an egg in a hole!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Kids are eating and Mr. Lynn D is refereeing (is that a word?)

Mo I must of missed the post about the police officer. It saddens me everytime I hear about an officer be killed. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

Good morning Goldie, Amicus, Ronnie, and Shirley!

Mo: Grandpa spent the night in the tent and he said never again! LOL He already swears he caught a cold. Oh booooy! When I got up at 1:00am he was asleep and the youngest needed to use the bathroom.

When I got up this morning Grandpa was asleep in the recliner in the living room that was at 5:30 am. He says he came in at 4:00am and it took him a half hour to get in a sitting position to get out of the tent!

    ReplyDelete
  32. ty Shirley. I have never been able to eat in the morning unless I have been up for hours. Makes me gag... Used to drive my mother bonkers when I was in school- I NEVER ate breakfast. I like breakfast the best late at night.

Mr. Goldie thinks he has died and gone to heaven on the RARE occasion that I make a big breakfast for him.

  33. Good Morning everyone - It's a still sleepy brown owl here.

Jennifer - Congratulations on being 1st. Is this your first time? You don't have to answer that if that is too personal a question.

    I will be back shortly.

  34. lynn- I sympathize with grandpa. This grandparenting thing is not for the faint of heart! While I adore every second with my grandbabies it takes DAYS for my body to recover! LOL

Morning Iteach! Can I interest you in some homemade hashbrown (if Maureen hasn't eaten them all yet)?

  39. Good morning!

Hey Jennifer welcome back, and congrats on firt! Sorry you aren't feeling well :(

Mo I'm so sad to hear of the loss suffered in your town. It is so senseless.

Shirley is right, there is no where immune to this anymore.

I also agree with everyone that you should be asked to donate your salary, instead of being told.

Whether it goes to a cause you support or not, the right and honorable thing to do would be for your boss to ask everyone.

The better thing would be for him to match everyone's salary for the day, and donate his own money.

Well guess what, it is still grey and smoky here. I hope it clears up before the BABB next month! Geez.

Goldie I'm like you, can't eat first thing in the morning. I have to have coffee first and then an hour or 2 later can eat something. If it's a work day, I don't eat anything til lunch.

By the way, I loved the song on the topic page today!

I saw a pic in a magazine the other day that made me smile and giggle, it was John BJ and Richie in the 70's. Both had the gorgeous big hair! yummy.

Hope everyone has a nice Sunday!

    ReplyDelete
  40. ohhhh....Homemade hash brown too please!!!!

Goldie-I have never been able to eat breakfast right away either, even when I was a kid. I've been up since six tho...so Shirley's wonderful breakfast is sounding good!

  46. Good morning everyone. I have a busy day today but wanted to make a lame fly- by.
Ringo was great last night. He has more energy than I do, and he is older!
Unfortunately I have no spare money to add to the bail jar. The Casino decided they needed my money more!

Tina~ area 51..LMAO "make sure Mr Zona is outside when you cut"

Jody~ How wonderful that they won! I wish I had known earlier, I would have loved to have been there!

Golie~Add me to the "not early breakfast eaters". Today I swept and moped the floors before breakfast.

Mo~ I am saddened by your news today. My Brother was a County Cop and my Nephew is one now, so I know how hard it must be on the whole town. It is a dangerous job.

I will check in later tonight.
    Have a great day everyone!

MO: Sorry about the police officer. It is a shame. My heart goes out to his family and to your community.

Tink: LOL @ being the "first time"! No...I've been first a few other times (but not many)! ; ) But I do have "virgin hair", remember?!

BON: I had the dream 2 nights ago! Who knows....maybe I heard it was going to take place somewhere and my sub-conscious picked it up... But, it was the NICEST dream I have had in a LONG time! ; )

Waving a wing at Birdee, Amicus, Goldie, Lynn D, Ronnie, Shirley (and thanks for breakfast!), Scirish, Iteach, EBJ, and MEK!

Iteach: I love having the air on (until I get my electric bill)! It actually helps with my allergies to have the air on.

I think the couch is calling me to come lay down on it! Later! Hope everyone has a great afternoon!

  58. My Dad found this one on Youtube last night at 2AM. Shall we say Youtube addict! This is dedicated to Tink & Elvis fans!

    Elvis Presley - Amazing Grace

Recorded: 1971/03/15, first released on "He Touched Me"
Words & Music: Arranged by Elvis Presley

    Lyrics:
    Amazing grace,
    Oh, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
    I once was lost,
    But now I'm found
    Was blind,
    But now I see

    When we've been there
    Ten thousand years,
    Bright shinning as the sun
    We've no less days
    To sing God's praise
Then when, when we first begun

    Through many dangers
    Toils and snares
    I have already come
    T'was grace that brought me
    Safe thus far
And grace will lead me home

    Amazing grace,
    Oh, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
    I once was lost,
    But now I'm found
    Was blind,
    But now I see

    Was blind,
    But now I see

  59. Wow! Busy nest this morning! We just got up, and I may take more aspirin. But a fun time was had by all last night!

'weenie, sorry to hear about the officer in your town! I have such respect to the people who choose professions that put their lives and well-being at risk. Over on the Rossblog, Firewife Laura's husband is off on a two-week firefighting detail in Northern California, and her kids are missing their daddy.

jennifer: sorry to hear about your migraine.

Mary/MI: Sorry to hear the casino was less forthcoming than Ringo!

And after all those regrets, Shirley: Thanks for breakfast! I'd like to send some of my portion to Mr Goldie, with your permission.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Oh Carol....I LOVE Jennifer Nettles and Bon Jovi together....I have two more of the videos from that day on my MySpace page. I think Jennifer sings Bon Jovi songs better than Bon Jovi (she says, ducking!) :)~

Jennifer~ Congrats on first and for having that awesome dream~

    Mo~ So sad about the officer~ I'm sorry~

Shirley~ Exactly whose garden were you in? Do I have to look outside? I was up at 3am and didn't hear anything~ :)~

Goldie~ I've never been able to eat breakfast either.....only time I do now is when I go back to my parents house and finally give in to my mom when she wants to make it~ :)

Jodi~ congrats on hoarding 69~ like you even need it~ :)~

    Carol, great video!

Mo, so sorry to hear about the policeman in your town. So sad.

Goldie, looked at the pics of your grandkids--so adorable!

Shirley, thanks for breakfast--I was here too late. Any leftovers?

    Hi Scirish, how's Zack?

Dreama! Thanks for the song--love it. Always nice to see you fly in!
    How are you?

  62. *******Sorry, I had to delete my post as I accidentally called Mr. LynnD by Mr. Goldie's name. Oooops!**********

Jennifer Congrats on #1 today! I hope you feel better soon.

Mo What a horrible and senseless killing! My condolences to his family and your community.

Goldie and EBJ I can't eat when I first get up either. It's supposed to be better for weight control if you can, though. Even just a piece of toast or fruit can get the metabolism activated.

Shirley I would love to have an Egg in a Hole, sausage and coffee, please. You always do such a splendid job with the breakfasts. Thank you.

LynnD Will Mr. LynnD be sore and cranky today? I bet the grandkids had a blast, though.

  63. good afternoon feathered friends.

thanks for all the thoughts and prayers and condolences you have offered regarding Officer Miktarian.

I ended up napping most of the day. One of the girls at the coffee house is a student at a cosmotology school and has offered to cut my hair...I'm a bit scared, but I guess I am going to go there and have her take a whack at it!! I hope she literally doesn't whack at it! ;)~

    I'll report back afterwards

    ReplyDelete
  64. Whabbear you can certainly send some of your breakfast to Mr. Goldie. As a matter of fact I think I will do up a special plate and send it over for him. Sounds like the poor man may be starving!

Tina technically I wasn't really in anyone's garden. I took a long pair of clippers and a rake with me. My feet never left the sidewalk.

Sandie I'm sure there is some leftovers. Help yourself.

  66. BonO: Wow, Bon Jovi did a free concert. How nice! It's a shame the scalpers took advantage of it though.

Yesterday would have been a great day to be in New York, because they had the annual Broadway Barks event too. A lot of the Broadway stars were there helping find homes for dogs and cats from local shelters. Bill Berloni was there too, and I would have loved to have him sign my book.

Dreama: Amazing Grace is a beautiful song!

Goldie: Add me to the list of people who can't eat breakfast first thing in the morning.

Sandie: Did you have fun hosting the book club meeting at your house? What book are you all reading now?

Ronnie, Shirley, Lynn, MEK: Thanks for the morning greetings!

  68. Glad to see 'Brangelina' didn't name the new twins Englebert & Pomegranate or some such nonsense. Can't wait 'til the little guy's a toddler and has his own 'Fort KNOX', and can only imagine what his knickname will be when he's a 20-something hunk! :-)~

    Naughty mat? Okay, I'm goin'

    ReplyDelete
  69. Bono, I was thinking along the same lines as you! The Brnagelina babies have more "normal" names.

When I worked in the nicu years ago, we had some babies with the strangest names. Off the top of my head I remember:
    Symphony Lemon
    Latrina
    D'Lingerie
    Harley Davidson
    Holden Myown
Ta'ShianaD'Shanae (first name, preemie girl weighed 1 lb. Name was longer than the baby)
    Stefan and Stefon (boy twins)
Mary, Mary and Mary (triplet girls)
    Clymaxx (girl, I'm not kidding)
    Peter, Paul and Mary (triplets)
Keanu Estrada (phillipinio boy, mom loved Keanu Reves)

I kept a list somewhere, there are lots more names! Those are just the ones I remember right now.

    ReplyDelete
  70. EBJ~Stepped away to finish the last few pages of my book and came back to those names...Latrina? D'Lingerie? Holden Myown (obviously NOT!)?

Don't you hate finishing a book you've enjoyed? It's sort of like ending a stormy relationship. You should be glad it's over, but you're not quite ready to move on.

  71. Hi Everyone!!

CPGEM: LOVE that song and video!! Sugarland is one of my very favorites...and JBJ..well, he's not too bad either. Thanks for posting the video, really made me smile.

JENNIFER: Congrats on first thru tenth! Feel better soon, kay??

MO: My cousins are both married to Police Officers. I cringe, and my heart breaks each time we lose a member of that fraternity.

GOLDIE: Glad you had a safe trip back, and that your pics are now uploaded! ;)

LYNND: I hope you are having fun with the grandkids! I was bad last night..ate a blue, two red and two yellow members of your extended family. ;)

SHIRLEY: Shoot!! Missed breakfast again!! Maybe next time you can leave me something that will last til after lunch!! :)

RONNIE: Good to see you! Missed your peaceful owl soaring over the nest!

BIRDEE: Good to see you too!

VIG: And where the heck are you?? Oh, wait I know...out looking at those fence posts...;)

TINK: Are you having fun with those Beanie Babies??

MEK: The humidity is killing me..how bout you?? Get that couch ready!!

EBJ: My mom told me that one of the woman she was in the hospital with named her daughter "Placenta". Another said she had a nice pregnancy and named her "Pregnancy". :D

TINA: All appendages still intact..and working fine...;)

JODI: YAY 69 without the handstand!

Waving Hi to: BON JOVI, GEORGE, ITEACH, SCIRISH, MARY/MI, BEAR, SANDIE, J/LIN, AMICUS, and BON.

Off to make lunch..no knife involved.

  72. Happy Sunday Owls.

Carol, How wonderful to wake up to JBJ this morning. I love this video. I am not good at finding things on You Tube, so I love it when you post anything from there.

Jennifer, Congrats on #1 and marching to 10.

Bon'O, I heard about the JBJ free concert and was wishing I could be there. I didn't hear about the Brangelina twins. What are their names?

EBJ, I assume Holden Myown is a boy?

Add my name to all those who can't eat first thing in the morning. Used to drive my Mom nuts too. She even changed me from the morning kindergarten class to the afternoon because she didn't want me going to school without breakfast. From first grade on she got me up at 5:30am so I would eat before school. I guess that's why I still get up early.

Scirish, I glad that Zack is doing so much better.

Mo, So sad about the officer who was shot. I will never understand why those things happen. Prayers to his family and the community.

Shirley, Thanks for breaky. I'm glad you explained the egg in a hole. I have never heard of that, but it sounds good.

Waving a wing at all the other owls. I hope everyone is having a good day. Zona, you better be sleeping!

  73. SACBARB: ooooopppsss...LOL!! I went through the comments twice..knew you had to be here soon for JBJ!!! :)

    Now to make that lunch...

    ReplyDelete
  74. Zona: Momma Tinka is going to have to ground you so you can get some sleep.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Hope you are all having a restful Sunday.

  76. SacBarb~~Knox Leon & Vivienne Marcheline (for Angelina's late mom, Marcheline Bertrand).

Mo~~My heart hurts for your little town. So very sad. I've been to TOO many law-enforcement funerals.

Zona~~Out of respect for AZ Owls (and because I know you'd only laugh at me), I will not bitch about anticipating over 100* today.

    Glynis~~Dang, you're gettin' GOOD!!

    ReplyDelete
  77. Bon'O, Those aren't too bad. Knox is a little different but....

    ReplyDelete
  78. Mr. Goldie Thanks you for breakfast! However, I did make apple and peach turnovers this morning so he was happy.

Mr. Goldie is an awesome cook, so there is no reason that I have to make breakfast every weekend- oh yeah, thats right, I don't!! LOL
He is slowly cooking baby back ribs as I write and it smells so good the poor dog is laying on the deck drooling and looking at the grill!!!

thanks for the pic comments everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I am back from the hair whacking! I am reserving judgement until I try to style it myself!! It is a LOT shorter then I have had it in years. Supposedly she cut it to take advantage of and enhance the natural curl and wave. She claims that with a little product, I can scrunch it and it will be tamed!! We shall see. Maybe then I will take a pic...that's a big maybe!!!

  80. Happy Sunday Evening to everyone. I haven't done a thing today but sleep late, read the paper and one load of wash (that has been sitting in the washer for quite awhile now). I really was planning on fixing dinner but I didn't so now my husband is at Subway picking up dinner.

The party was fun yesterday and I will post pictures after MrD downloads them and I figure it out. Thanks for the comment SHIRLEY.

MO: I as really sorry to hear about that policeman. It scares the heck out of me with my son and niece being on the force.

ITEACH: I am kind of glad we didn't have cereal again for breakfast...not that I am not grateful for your contribution!!(Thanks SHIRLEY)
JODI: What's up with Farve? Our Bronco coach is being questioned if he would take him for a quarterback!!

JENNIFER: I hope you are feeling better tonight.

Ok...not much going on. MARY/MI: I can hardly believe you didn't win anything. Glad I didn't give you a quarter this time. Oh, and to whoever asked yesterday if MARY shares her winnings with the owls...No!! I really tried one time to get her to split it with me and it didn't work for even a cent!!

  81. Every year I have several unusual names in my classroom.

Two years ago I had an Oceania.

Last year I had a Nortorious.

    ReplyDelete
  82. DIANNE - Crazy stuff with Favre. Evidentally he still wants to play, but has been told that he could play again as backup quarterback, and they have denied his request to be released from the team. Things to make ya go hmmmmmmmmm.

  83. Mamma Mia! fans...

I bought the movie soundtrack today, and after listening to it, I wish I hadn't spent the money. If you're wanting a CD of the show, I recommend buying the original cast recording instead. I own it and love it!

The original cast recording has 7 songs that aren't included on the movie soundtrack, plus the vocals are much stronger.

I'm still looking forward to seeing the movie though, because what they lack in vocal skills will probably be overshadowed by their incredible acting skills.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Amicus~See why I said it's good they have their 'day jobs' ? :-) Poor Pierce Brosnan. He must have cried all the way to the bank. I still bet it'll be fun after seeing the movie.

Good news: we didn't hit 100*! Only 99, still 95--but actually comfy indoors without a/c.

    ReplyDelete
  85. EBJ: Funny names! I guess you've heard it all!

iteach, I know someone named Oceana with a daughter named Keocia.

What about the parents who name their kids weird things to go with their last names?? I'm sure you all know people like that. I went to school with a girl named Candy Barr and my sister went to school with a girl named Chris Cross.

But, best of all, I used to work with a guy named Dick Shaker. No lie. Now tell me, why would a mother do that to her child? And, why would he not call himself Richard or Rick????

    ReplyDelete
  86. Sandie ROTFLMAO at Dick Shaker!!! Too funny!! His parents must have been on drugs when they came up with that! OMG!!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Oh, Sandie~~Here we go...

I think we did this name thing once on the other blog and I mentioned that my daughter had a middle school friend, Sharon Head, who's dad's name was Richard, aka Dick...and I had a college dorm-mate, kind of a hoochie mama, whose name was Kathy Horr. Used to book a guy into jail often whose name was Jack Hammer....

This one for LynnD/Tina~~ Coworker's dentist = Dr. Payne.

Niters, Shirley! Any fresh fruit left from breakfast?

    ReplyDelete
  88. Bon'O, mean parents!! LOL!!

My Mom goes to a dermatologist named Dr. Spot.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Sandie, I knew a guy years ago in the town I grew up in named Dick Soares. His real name was Richard but everyone called him Dick.

I heard he became a cop.

I had heard of a guy (a friend of a friend) who's name was Chuck Roste.

My best friend Lisa's brother supposedly had a friend named Jack Mieoff. I never met him so not sure if it's true or not. Funny!

And, my Jr. High School teacher was Mr. Silver. His son was Sterling and his daughter was Quick.

    ReplyDelete
  90. OK I just thought of more!

I used to babysit for a dentist named Dr. Moeller.

A girl I used to carlpool with was named (?) Kuntz. Can't remember her first name, but who could forget the last?

There is a lady who used to come to our clinic named Betty Beaver.

Any Big Brother fans out there? We are going to watch tonight. Nothing else on!

    ReplyDelete
  91. OH! I just remembered another one. There was a gynecologist at a hospital I used to work at named Dr. Massengill.

    ReplyDelete
  92. As in the Massengill douche! LMAO!!

    ReplyDelete
  93. EBJ, wow! I always wondered if doctors with names like that chose their field of practice because it would be funny or they really were interested in that field!

    ReplyDelete
  94. BonO: Pierce should definitely stick to singing in the shower, like me. ;)

Sandie: I posted a couple of questions for you earlier today at 3:37 PM, in case you didn't it.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Hi Amicus! I have to tell ya, lately the tv channels around here have been heavily promoting Mamma Mia the opera/musical/movie/tv show/game show/whatever it is that I am literally wanting to pull my hair out when I hear the Mamma Mia song!

Luckily I mute it. I don't want to see it anymore or even hear the Mamma Mia song.

There is such a thing as overkill and they have done it with Mamma Mia.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Hey Amicus!! How was your day off today?

I did have fun hosting the book club--it was a great discussion about the book Change of Heart by Jodi Picoult.

Next we're reading Slaugherhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut. It's not really my kind of book but others who've read it say it's pretty good.

    Thanks for asking!!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Should have been Slaughterhouse-Five.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Oops...that last post of mine should have said, "in case you didn't see it." :)

EBJ: LOL! I was thinking the same thing the other night, because it seemed like every commercial break included a Mamma Mia! advertisement. They've spent some big bucks promoting the film!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Sandie,
I had a relaxing day so it was a good day off. :) Glad your book club meeting went well! I tried to start the book, Atonement, last night, but I just couldn't get into it, because I'm still on an emotional high from Broadway Tails. It's hard to switch gears like that.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I haven't read either of those, Amicus. I will read Broadway Tails since you enjoyed it so much.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Amicus, this is probably a stupid question since these are beloved books everyone probably knows, but you have read All Creatures Great and Small and All Things Bright and Beautiful by James Herriot?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Sandie,
I don't know if it's the type of book your book club reads, but it's definitely a heartwarming book for pet lovers. And, the author is giving part of the book's profits to the Humane Society of New York so it also benefits a worthy cause.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Amicus, we read everything! That's what I love about the book club. We read anything anyone wants to choose. So, I'll take a look at that one! Thanks!

  104. Good Evening, everyone..

we had a busy day - got LOTS done, and TONS of storms thru out the day..

Zona - YES, the humidity is REALLY high and NOT fun with this heat and moisture!! I keep telling ya, you are welcome ANY time!!

Bono - you can complain about the heat ALL you want to!! I sure don't mind!! Heck, Denver had higher temps than we did the other day!!

EBJ - when i worked at the Title company (ages ago), we used to keep lists of interesting names that we would find during title searches!! AMAZING, what people name their kids..

OH - and the girl twin name of Angelina makes me think of "Urban Cowboy"!!!

cpgem - thanks again for the video today!!

I hope everyone had a great day..

and I have an excellent Monday!!

    :-)

  105. Happy Sunday evening everyone.

EBJ, I watched Army Wives. It is on the same time as Big Brother here.

You guys are cracking me up at the names. My BIL's name is Harold Richard but he goes by Rick, however when his wife gets mad at him she calls him Harry Dick. And I used to work for a dentist named Dr. Fee.

Bon'O, It only got to 95 here today too. It is 85 now.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Sandie: You're welcome! Hope you enjoy it! Yes, I love James Herriot! I have all of his books. :) BonO recommended The Art of Racing in the Rain so I think I'm going to read that one next. I tried finding it at Target today, but they didn't have it so I'm going to order it from Amazon.com.
I better get to bed now. It was nice chatting with you!

    Hi MEK and Sacbarb!

    Goodnight to all the Owls!

    ReplyDelete
  107. Shhhh . . . the nest is very quiet tonight . . .

    ReplyDelete
  108. I guess I'll tip toe out of here. Should I turn off the lights?

    ReplyDelete
  109. Hi sacbarb! I thought I was alone! I watched Army Wives, too. Did you like it? For some reason, I'm really distracted when I watch it this season. I can't figure out if it's just me or if it's just not grabbing my attention. I think it's me because I like all the story lines.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Yes I do like it this season. I especially like that Joan's replacement (can't remember his name) got told off, but I think he is going to be more trouble for her.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I think you're right about him. What about (brain freeze--can't think of her name!) motorcycle woman and the motorcycle doctor? Do you think they're going to get together? She's waking up to her husband's controlling behavior.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Hi Gang.

Hope you're all having a great night.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Sandie, Yeah, I think she is thinking about how controlling he is, but the writers will make us wait a while before she does anything with the doc. She is an officer's wife after all.

    ReplyDelete
  114. sacbarb, I'm sure you're right about that!

    Hi want2sleep!

    ReplyDelete
  115. MEK~Thanks! Down to 85 now. For some reason, today was 'no sweat'.
