  1. What year did this movie come out?

Boy I just loved it back then.

  2. Morning Iteach! Congrats on 1st! The movie came out in 1987.

I will not be doing any dancing today. The cramps and misery are winning. Unless I go have a sex change today I might be back later. Enjoy the danicing!

  3. Morning All!

CPGEM: This video was just fun to watch...thank you for posting it! My mom adored Patrick Swayze and 'Dirty Dancing' was one of her favorite movies.

I think I have to dust off my dancing shoes...but maybe just my dancing socks will do... ;)

Thanks CPGEM for the early morning smile!!

Hi ITEACH! Congrats on FIRST and SECOND!! I think the movie came out it 1987...I'll google it to be sure......yep...1987!

Not dancing yet but I did love to watch them! Boy that Swayze sure had the moves!

    Congrats on first Iteach!!!

Shirley sorry for your misery, what a pain, but I think the sex change might be more painful! Yikes

Good Morning Zona, socks are great for dancing because you get to glide on those polished floors! LOL

Hope everyone has a great day!

    ReplyDelete
  6. LYNND: LOL...me, socks and polished floors...I think you left out the 'crash'!! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  7. Good morning HO's!!!

CAROL - I love this movie!!

Waving a wing at ITEACH (congrats on first!!), SHIRLEY, ZONA (are you sure about dancing in you socks?!!!?), and LYNN D!!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Zona I thought about the crash, but decided I had high hopes that you could make it through the dance very gracefully!

    ReplyDelete
  9. OOPS.....ZONA - should be your socks!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hey Hodi!!! You are up and about! Hope the back is better today!

    ReplyDelete
  11. LYNN D - Still loving your badass self in those plaid pants!!

    ReplyDelete
  12. LYNN D - Back is ok. Just taking it one day at a time.

    ReplyDelete
  13. You know what is so funny Jodi? I thought those pants were so cool then! I wore them constantly! LOL Oh and the tennis shoes I remember begging for those because they were in style. They were called boat shoes then.

    ReplyDelete
  14. HEY THERE JODI!! I just did two slides across the kitchen...and I'm still standin!! LOL

LYNND: Boat shoes...OMG...I wore mine til my toe poked through and mom MADE me throw them away...I loved 'em.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Zona LOL at the boat shoes! It was also the time that clogs the shoes became oh so popular, I begged for those to and got them. They were nurse white and I almost broke my neck the first time I wore them!

    ReplyDelete
  16. LYNND: I never had clogs...I was already four inches taller than most of the boys...didn't want to make it any worse! I did have penny loafers..but by that time we were putting dimes in them...inflation I guess!! ;)

  19. Zona-my-baby - Good Morning. The fair was fantastic. I wrote about it in area 51. I am just feeding Tango and Tia. I will be back and read the blog and comments.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Good Morning iteach, Shirley, Lynn, and Jodi. I hope you are having the "Time of Your Life" today.

I love that movie. I don't know how many times I have watched it. The last time I went dancing was New Year's Eve 1999. That was a fun night. We didn't know what was going to happen when it turned midnight. My Asian students all came a few days early because they didn't want to be in the air when the clocks turned to 12:00, 2000.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Iteach - I forgot to say, "Congrats on being 1st". I also wanted to tell you I wrote about your great blog in area 51 when I got home from the Fair.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I am tired this morning. It was a long but fun day at the Fair yesterday. I will be back in a couple of hours.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I deleted the post because I wrote in the number and it was wrong. No mysterious comment deleted. Sorry.

  25. Hi Owls!

Well, I just said goodbye to my son and DIL about an hour ago. We had such a nice visit with them, but it was much too short of a visit. They had to go up north to see her family today, and I totally understand that. Feeling a little down right now but also feeling blessed to have had such a wonderful family experience this weekend.

Just watched yesterday's video and read the blog. (Have not read comments yet.)

iteach: You and I have so much in common. I LOVED that TV moment so much! I had cold chills and tears as I watched that hockey clip. I remember that last game so well. I had crushes on so many of those players. I had posters on my bedroom wall of the team. (As well as Eric Heiden, the speed skater.) What a great TV moment that was. Thanks for the memories.

Oh, and congrats on first today iteach!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Okay, now I've read today's blog and watched the video. Enjoyed it but I can't dance right now. I'm so tired. I KNOW a nap is in my near future.

    Hope you feel better Shirley.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Good morning (for a few more minutes!) owls!

Congrats on first, iteach! I hope your headache is better.

Carol, I love "Dirty Dancing!" I think I've seen it 50 times! Thanks for making us dance this morning!

Shirley, I really hope those nasty cramps go away today. Eat more chocolate.

Zona, careful in those socks, girl! You wouldn't want to fly across the room and knock down all your stuff! ;)

Jodi, so glad your back is improving. Don't dance today!!

Lynn, isn't it funny how we thought we were so cool back then and when we look at ourselves now we have to laugh? I remember so clearly putting on this blue frosty eye shadow from my lash line to my eyebrow and thinking I was the bee's knees. My Mom told me it didn't look so good and I remember thinking, "Like she knows fashion!" LOL!!

Tinka, so happy for your family and all their ribbons!! I'm glad to hear you had a good time.

Donna, I'm sure you hated to see your son and DIL go! I'm glad you had a good time with them.

Not sure what we're doing yet today but I want to go to the movies!! I really want some popcorn. LOL

    Have a great day!

    ReplyDelete
  28. DONNA JO - Eric Heiden.....just another great athlete from Madison, Wisconsin!!! My cousins used to train with him, although they never got to the national level he did.

TINKA - So glad the kids did so well at the fair. Can't wait to see pics!! Please take it easy today. ((((HUGS)))) to you!!

SANDIE - lol @ the blue eye shadow. Our Aunt Caren did the same thing....we called her Caren with the blue eyes!!

    ZONA - Sporty snap 2 U!! Luv U!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. SANDIE - No dancing today.....just a butt load of laundry. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  30. LYNN D - Sorry to leave you hanging this morning. I had boat shoes and clogs!!! Only the "cool" kids went clomping down the hallways in them!! Not that I was so cool.....but a girl could dream. :P

    ReplyDelete
  31. ok....back to the laundry. I'll bbl!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Good morning, iteach, carol, Zona, Shirley, Lynn D, Jodi, Tink, Hart, and Sandie!

Dirty dancing... that's what we should have done on East Bay's deck last night! Oh, well, a great time was had anyway (I hope by all)! Thanks so much to MEK (three! three! three meetings now!) and Mary/MI for making the trip (Huz loved getting to know you and niece Raquel in the pool!), to Sharon for bringing herself and SacBarb in from the valley, to Outatune for letting me swim with Yummy Hubby (who's not only a gorgeous bear, but really NICE!), and to DonnaJean for giving us the chance (finally) to meet her and Laurie Elizabeth!

Judy, your home was lovely... thanks so much for bringing us together! I wish we had been able to stay long enough to meet Mr East Bay!

And Robbie... your family is absolutely delightful! Munchkin is bright and engaging, and your son makes great cheeseburgers!

Have a great day, BABBers and all owls!

    ReplyDelete
  33. WHABBY - So great to finally talk to you yesterday! What?!!? No dirty dancing last night? lmao!! I hope you have a great Sunday!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Whabbear, thanks for the update on the BBAB! It sounds like you all had a great time together. We're all patiently waiting for the pictures/video!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Next year I'm going to hitch hike to California!

I'm going to go nap with my middle child.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Jodi, it was great to finally talk to you, too! And Dianne again.

I'm sorry I missed Carol, but I was in the pool talking to yummy hubby Paul!

    No dirty dancing, sadly!

    iteach: Get that thumb ready!

Sandie: Photos to come... there are loads... at times, it looked like the opening ceremonies in there, what with all the flashbulbs popping!

  42. Good afternoon owls!

I just finished uploading my BABB pics to my myspace page. We didn't get as many as I thought we did. The pool was a "no photo" zone, sorry! Y'all will just have to trust it was a beautiful and refreshing spot on a hot summer afternoon.

Need to run and take some new photos of my foster doggie - Barb, I should have those for you soon.

The rest of the afternoon is for lounging and catching up on Netflix movies. Happy Sunday everyone!

And another Democrat has me watching Nobama on 60 minutes~ What is my world coming to?~

So the hubby came home with a dozen red roses for me.....I wonder if he did anything wrong~ :)~

    ReplyDelete
  53. My daughter and I are watching THE SOUND OF MUSIC too, Jodi! I don't know why I always get so excited when it comes on TV. I own the DVD.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Good evening everyone,

It looks like everyone is enjoing their Sunday, and the BABB was a huge success.

I loved the Dirty Dancing video, kind of makes me want to jump off the stage and dance. That's one sexy dance.

Not sure what party Gustav belongs to, but it looks like he won't have his eye hit Houston. We will be getting a lot of rain and abnormally higher winds, but nothing devastating. This afternoon, our family made the decision to stay here and just 'ride-out' all the rain.

Btw HoTina, once again, there is no 'ass' in Texas, just Ho's. lol

Be back in a minute, someone's at my door...(probably wants me to share my tuna)

    ReplyDelete
  55. Hi Ronnie,
I am very glad to hear you will just be getting some rain. :O)

Its not be at the door, and if it was I would not want your Tuna :O)

    ReplyDelete
  56. You guys are goofy!

Ronnie I hope it is opportunity knocking!!! LOL

Glad to hear you are just getting rain and wind.

    Hi Carol!

Ok going to go catch some news!

    ReplyDelete
  57. RONNIE - So glad you didn't have to try to stuff your precious blue chairs in the back of the suv!!! Oh, and I'm glad you won't be getting blown away, either.

Just got done with the laundry....going to bed for real this time.

    Good night HOoters!!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. lol, Lynn @ opportunity knocking.
Maybe it's someone that wants to dirty dance with me....where's that blue eyeshadow? lol

Awwww Carol, come on, I have a case of 24 cans, I'll share. If you don't want that, how about some Beanie Weenies...now that's really nasty. I guess if your without electricity and hungry, you'll eat most anything.

I really tested my daughters love this morning when I asked her if we evacuated, could I put my two new overstuffed wing-back chairs and ottoman in her SUV. Just guess what the answer was. And no, she doesn't have U-Haul written on her forehead.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hey Jodie...we were typing at the same time. Btw, thanks for the late night call last night. Enjoyed our visit.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Good Night Everyone. I think I am going to watch the movie
"Dirty Dancing". That video got me in the mood.

God keep us all safe tonight, please. Love, Tinka

    ReplyDelete
  61. I haven't read any comments...but have watched this video 45 times..that used to be me dancing....now it freaking hurts to sit in a chair...

I am thinking about acupuncture...anybody have thoughts?

I really don't want to whine or bring the blog down, but I can not stand the freaking pain any more...I really can't!

I can feel the ridges in my back after "resting" for 8 hours...how much more can I "rest"?

How much more "stuff" can I take? I have a freakin drugstore..

I am at the end of my rope...somebody? suggestions please?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Scirish - I just read your comment and I feel so bad for you. Have you been to all the specialists? I imagine you have. I wish I had an answer. My brother-in-law is also in constant pain and can't find a solution. There must be help somewhere. I hope someone has an answer for you and him. In the meantime I will keep you in my prayers.

    ReplyDelete
  63. scirish~ as "tinaish" as this sounds..the only thing that helps my back pain is sex~ Other than that.....i really couldn't tell you~ But like Tinka...i'll pray for you~
