Monday's

Monday's, always so rough, and they roll around so very quickly, just when Friday is here, I think, ok, two days, this is good....And then Monday is here!

You gotta shake the cob webs from your brain, brush the dust off, kick your butt in gear, and face Monday head on.

There is just so much to face, so many rumblings in the brain, and you just don't know where to begin. I actually don't think it matters where you begin, as long as you begin, I guess that is what matters most.

I want to walk more, I need to find those steps that Bebbi found, I need to be pointed in the right direction. I need to clear the brain, as Monday is here!

Not much more, this is it, Monday always does this, it freezes the brain.

Four more days to Friday, I am counting down, 4, 3, 2, 1... and then we start all over again...

    LynnD---

Carol.. thanks again for the blog... This has been a very long weekend... funerals are hard enough.. but when it is a young person.. just makes it harder... i very dear friend of mine lost her daughter to leukemia this past week...
She was my flower girl in my wedding... 25 years old..how sad... she had been doing good... transplant had worked... but monday she was told it was back... wanted to do chemo...and it (the chemo) attacked her organs... heart lungs liver and kidneys... and she was gone very quickly...

I don't know how a parent is supposed to bury a child...
    it shouldn't have to happen...

this was a very hard weekend... tha nks for the love and support on my space..
i didn't make in here all weekend...

hope you all have a good day ... to start a god week....

    ReplyDelete
  9. IBB: I am so sorry, that is just terrible, I don't think any parent intends to bury their child, but it does happen at times, and I don't know how parents do it. I will keep you and your friend in my thoughts. Damn Cancer such a nasty disease.

  10. Mek & Zona, Its only 53 here. Kids are in jeans and hoodies going to school, it was cold in my house on Saturday, but it felt good to me, my kids just wrapped in in their blankets and wore sweaters and sweat pants. I can't believe your still in shorts and flip flops, I thought I would love that, but you guys sound like your sick of it. I have a question to ask you about Arizona, my husband was thing of relocating there for work reasons, but I'm scared of scorpions, and poisonus snakes, do you have any around where you live??? I once read a story in the paper that a woman was going to bed and she crawled into bed there was a scorpion next to her foot, could that actually happen???

  11. IBB: I lost my best friend from high school and college to lymphoma when he was 24. I know whereof you speak, and what you're all going through. Horrible.

OK, I'm going to head off and enjoy my one honeymoon day with the one, the only, Mr Whabbear!!

THANKS so much to all of you owls who sent us best wishes here an on MySpace. "Mr Whabbear" and I just read them all, and he started to tear up... again!

We had an incredible time Saturday. Seaside Lady was absolutely awesome, mingling with everybody, taking tons of photos, and staying at the after-reception-party in our hotel room until after 3!!

    She rocks!

  12. Carol...TGIM...never. Cute blog! I worked all weekend and I am taking the morning off and then back to our regularily scheduled Monday! Have a marvelous Monday everyone!

IBB....how incredibly sad! I am so sorry for your friend's loss! And for your loss. Life can be so unfair! Thinking of you and your friend!

Mr. Married Whabbear...congrats, congrats, congrats! I saw SSL's pictures on MS and they are fantastic! What a gorgeous wedding!

Zona...do you want me to send you my curling iron so you can curl every hair?

  13. Good morning/afternoon Owls.

Carol, Yes, it is Monday again and we have to face it. When I was working, I didn't do Mondays well because there was always something at home left undone...never enough weekend.

SeasideLady, Thanks so much for posting those great pics of the Bear Wedding. It was the next best thing to being there.

Whabbear, Congrats on marrying your best friend. Happiness and peace to you both.

    Bon, congrats on #1.

IBB, so sad to hear about the loss of such a young person. I will keep the family in my prayers.

    MEK, Congrats on FORE!

Zona, Get that pork roast in the crock pot.

Tinka, Thinking about you and hoping you are well.

Waving a wing at all the Owls who land today.

  14. Happy Monday!

I usually have Mondays off, so they aren't a bad day for me.

Today I'm catching up on laundry and have some errands.

Also getting stuff together to send in to our county assessor... our property tax went up and house value went down.

You can submit a request for them to review your bill, you must send "proof", so I have copied info from several recent home sales in the neighborhood, showing that they are selling for less.

Seems the assessor's office should already know this stuff. Duh.

LOVED the wedding pics, SSL did a wonderful job capturing the moment, and I felt like I was there.

Well I just read that Misty from DWTS broke her ankle so won't be back. Wonder if that means that Kim will be spared, and return tonight??? hmmm.

I hope everyone has a nice day today!!

  15. Hi Owl Friends!
So sorry I've been away for a few days. My life has been so busy lately.

I'm really sorry I missed the blog on Saturday. Whabby is one of the greatest people I know and I am overjoyed for him and Huzbear!! CONGRATS TO YOU BOTH!!!!
That was a wonderful blog you wrote for him, Carol.

What a sweet blog Sandie wrote yesterday. Loved the song.

ibebold: I'm terribly sorry for the loss of your friend's daughter.
Renee: I agree....DAMN CANCER! Let's all say it together...DAMN CANCER!!!!

I don't know what it is but I'm having a really hard time staying awake today. It's a rough Monday indeed! I work until 6pm and then I have a Girl Scout Meeting to lead. Lord, give me strength!

    ReplyDelete
  16. whabby - what are you doing in the nest on your ONE honeymoon day??!!
SO happy for you and Huz - LOVED the pictures!!!

    IBB - (((HUGS)))

Renee - i would LOVE to be wearing a hoody right about now - it's 79 degrees and still hotter than you know what!! Yes, i am sick of the hot weather!!! Now, about the crawly things - i actually SAVED a lizard from my mom's neighbor's cat today - if anyone would have EVER said that I would be saving a lizard - i would have thought they were crazy!! BUT - they eat the bugs!!! we don't have a scorpion problem where I live..- but i have friends that do - they just tell you to make sure you shake your shoes before you put them on - in case one has crawled in there - and to keep your bedding off the floor, so they can't crawl up!! Yes, there are rattlesnakes, you just have to "watch" out for them..... but if you stay out of the actual desert - you'll be okay!! I do NOT do creepy, crawly things - but you learn to adapt and live as one - if that makes sense... if you move here - you will be fine!!! Hope that answers your question!!

waving howdy to Bono, VIG, IBB, Whabby, SacBarb, Renee, EBJ and Hart!!! (I think those are who have landed since this a.m.!!)..

well, I have to bake a carrot cake for Mr. MEK!!!

BEAR Yes, why are you here on your honeymoon day? Loved the pictures that Seaside Lady posted. What a joyous occasion! You two look so happy! Congrats again!

Carol I'm having a blah Monday. I was on my feet for 3 hours yesterday in heels a little higher than I'm used to and it really bothered my back. I'm going to have dinner with friends later so I know my day will end nicer than it began.

  21. Mek:
So if the bedding is on the floor the buggies crawl in it, but if its on the bed they don't. Do they perhaps know, the bed is off limits.

    :O)

  22. Now I feel like the freaky lady-

    I had a good Monday.

The children always start the week quiet and get louder as the week goes on.

Monday is my favorite day to teach.

In the summer when I'm off all the days just seem to run together.

    ReplyDelete
  23. IBB- Sorry to hear about your friend.

Whabby- Thanks for popping in during your honeymoon!

    Bono congrats on being first!

Whab, loved your wedding pics. Will either of you change your last name, or hyphenate each others?

Zona did you accidentally give Nikki steak, and MR. ZONA the doggy food?? :)

Renee, I lived in Phoenix as a kid, and only 1 time did we see a scorpion. We saw more bats than creepy-crawlies, believe it or not.

Hart that is so cool that you are a Girl Scout leader! I remember mine, Mr. Kirkland, she was such a nice lady.

Hi to VIG, SacBarb, MEK, Lynn, JL, Iteach and Carol!

CAROL...we had Monday from hell at the office today. We all wanted to go home, get back under our blankies and start it over. The afternoon got a little better.

    IBB...so sorry for your pain. It isn't fair when children have to suffer and ultimatly succumb to sickness or accidents. {{{hugs}}}

I'm thinking MEK might share some of the carrot cake with us????????

iteach: Glad you are embracing your new income. My mom and I went out tonight to the park and picked up walnuts. My mom said she used to get them all the time when she was a little girl and they would make fudge and use them. We got a big bag of them. I am going to try and open them after they dry out and see if they are any good.

So, I am embracing my same income..poor poor and poor moneywise but which with love love love! :)

I walked over 12,000 steps today. Shew, I am tired. I walk at my lunch time, I walk after dinner, I walk in my sleep...thanks for the shout out today in the blog, Carol, that made me feel really good.
