I Love McDonald’s Monopoly!!!! I have played it for at least 20 years. Every year, lots of emails go flying around between myself and my kids! Phone calls, text message, emails and buzz …we all are excited!! My son goes every day and eats the food with all the game pieces. I stop by and grab diet cokes, my daughter does her own too. It is so much FUN!!! I delight in getting all the pieces except the good ones (and dream about getting the good ones).
Even my dad gets into it. Every year he calls me up and says, “Well, I have Indiana and Kentucky, I just need Illinois and I will win.” For many years, I got so excited and then realized he was B.S.ing me. It may not always be the red ones, but he does it every year. I get my love of this stuff from him.
The hardest years for me were the “scandal” years! Oh, what anger and disappointment I went through to find out that the game was RIGGED!! McDonald’s understood the hurt and anger and did another game just for the loyal, such as us.
If you notice on the attached picture which is a little bright (sorry!), I circle the ones I need. Now, I am sure this probably doesn’t change year to year, but somehow, each year I am excited to get all but the “ONE”. Also, I have a little ceramic container that I keep just for my “extra” McDonald’s pieces.
This year, because I am dieting, I go a few times less, but I still have gone. I delight in opening the little game pieces. I used to delight in sticking them on the game board, but this year they created handy little pockets. Also, as I enjoy my meal, I LOVE to text in my numbers to my electronic game board.
So anytime you see the little McDonald’s game pieces, just think of the absolute joy and complete fulfillment some of us more tedious personalities get from this tiny little life’s pleasure. Also, if you ever want to know which ones are the ones to win, just ask Bebbi!
What do you take silly delights in doing?
First!
ReplyDeleteWoo Hoo! Off to get coffee and read the blog.
ReplyDeleteBebbi...I have been vaguely aware of the game before...I remember seeing people selling the pieces on EBay. We rarely go to McDonalds, but did last weekend as the kids were here. Of course we got some pieces and I was going to throw them away. There was a major outcry so I had to stick them in a drawer, now I understand why!
ReplyDeletela la la te da da da....I seem to be here all by myself
ReplyDeleteWTH....5!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Hooters!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1st scirish, and 2,3,4 and 5!! HI.
I never have played it and don't go to McDonalds often, but I understand the thrill of trying to get the pieces and win.
Years and years ago 7-up had a thing where on the inside of a 12 pack there was 1/2 of a winning coupon thing for 25.00. I saved those puppies and always got the right hand side. Always.
One day I got the left side! $25.00 was a lot of money to us when we had an 2 toddlers. WAHOO.
Have a nice, peacefull day everyone.
Hi SCIRISH
ReplyDeleteI had insomnia all night. I thought about trying to see if I could be 1st, but this may be stupid, but since I am so new to the blog I felt like I haven't earned it yet. I see a nap in my future today.
We have game pieces in an envelope, but haven't done anything with them yet.
I think I have more of an OCD personality. I can't stand crooked pictures. If I am out somewhere and see one, I focus on it the whole time. My friends at work love to make pictures crooked just to see the expression on my face when I notice.
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteScrishy got first! Does she win a prize? LOL
Bebbi never played the Mikey D's Monopoly. I have gotten the pieces before but usually toss them. Sorry!
Like others here I don't go there enough to get into the game. I do understand the obsession tho and am happy people get enjoyment out of playing.
I am sure I have many tedious attributes but I am just not awake enough to fully analyze them and just pick out one!
Lani jump in and take first any chance you get! This is a competitive bunch and they would not hesitate to push you or me out of the way to get it! LMAO
Hope everyone is having a great day!
Thanks LYNN

ReplyDeleteHi lani, lynn and MEK!
ReplyDeleteLani- go for it, get 1st! It is like a passage of rites here. :)
Happy Thursday!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning..
Scirish - congrats on first.. is the neighbor out again today?? I have TWO of them that like to blow leaves, wash their cars and trim their bushes before 6 a.m. - so I feel your pain..
Lani - dive in, head first - go for it!!! :-)
waving howdy to Scirish, Goldie, Lani, Lynn D, and all who land!!
Bebbi - great blog - good luck on your quest for game pieces!!!
I better get going... have another long day ahead..
I hope everyone has an excellent day!!
:-)
Top of the morning, Bebbi, scirish, MEK, Lynn D, Goldie, and Lani!
ReplyDeleteBoy, Bebbi, does this bring back memories of a gas company promotion back when I was in 8th grade. It was all about hockey players, and Esso (Canada's Exon at the time) was giving away the equivalent of baseball cards complete with scrapbooks where you could paste the players's cards into the appropriate place (the scrapbook was arranged by team).
This set off a frenzy of collecting by me and everybody I knew, both in my neighborhood and at school. I insisted that my Dad fill up at Esso all the time, natch, and the excitement when he'd come home with new cards, and I'd check to see whether I already had the players in the new batch, was unbelievable.
Thanks for sparking that memory!
Good Morning Owls.
ReplyDeleteGOOD MORNING:GOLDIE, MEK, WHABBEAR, TINKATIA, AND ALL WHO FLY IN NEXT.
ReplyDeleteWell, I tried to sleep again, but to no avail. It just isn't going to happen.
Reading BEAR'S message reminded me of the old days of GREEN STAMPS. We collected them at the grocery store. One time I earned enough for a telescope. It was fun to go shopping at the green stamp store.
Oh, and thanks for the encouragement to jump in. Although I probably won't want a night of insomnia for a while.
ReplyDeleteWell, Bear, looks like a lovely place you have here. I'd love to stop in and visit you all. The haters and rudeness along with the drama shoved me out of the box over there. XOXO
ReplyDeleteWelcome to our nest no_news (LL)
ReplyDeleteEveryone is welcome and it is a wonderful place of respect and fun.
We also console, joke, kabbitz and share our lives. It is about US and not the blogmeister!!
green stamps were the best!!
ReplyDeleteDo you remember the Brady Bunch episode when they got enough green stamps but had to decide if the boys or girls would get to use them- I think they built a house of cards.
ReplyDeletemaching along, left, right, left
ReplyDeleteleft, right , left
ReplyDelete24!
ReplyDelete25!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Brady Bunch episode rings a bell, but I don't remember what happened.
ReplyDeleteI think I remember there were blue stamps also.
Welcome to NO_NEWZ
Good Morning Scirish - Congrats on being First through Fifth. You must have started to get lonely.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning - Goldie, Lani, Lynn, Mek, Whabbear and No-News. Hope you are all having a great day.
Mek - We have an anti-noise law here. I am not sure of the details but I know if anyone starts mowing the lawn at 7:00 the police will be called. Maybe you should start a petition for a law like that.
Bebbi - We used to go to McDonald's but I never played their game. I do however like their toys. A couple of years ago my grandson watched a show about all the fat that is in McDonald's food and he refused to go again. We haven't been since that show. I do miss the toys.
I tried the Bingo game at Safeway a few times but it was so frustrating to always get the same pieces. I am obsessive, however, about collecting Air Miles from Safeway. I am always watching for the Air Miles promotions. I have 29,000 and have used almost as many on 2 trips and many purchases like toys, cameras, DVD players. I am ordering an Apple Ipod Nano this week.
Have fun today owls everywhere.
OMG! Owls, we have a distinguished visitor to the nest this morning... famed Rossblogger Lois Lane!
ReplyDeleteWelcome, NoNews!
Good morning, Tink!
Ok Bebbi tediousness or paranoia is getting the best of me today.
ReplyDeleteI have my ballot all filled out and ready, but I am having a hard time parting with it!
I have two options mail it or put it in a drop box by our town court house (by the way that is a double wide trailer). It feels like I am parting with a sacred document and I just don't want to let it out of my sight. Do I trust the mail or the drop box???
Whew I think this maybe a very long day.
Welcome to the nest NoNews!
Good morning everyone. I just got back from my physical. The Dr. gave me a clean bill of health. He did suggest I have "that" colon test! Oh, and the only negative was a part of the "sugar test" that had to do with eating too many sweets, like doughnuts, pop, and candy! I guess I better cool it on the happy food lol!
ReplyDeleteI have to have my mammogram today at 1:00.
On collecting game pieces.. I did notice my son has a little pile of the MC D stamps. I remember trying some coke bottle top thing a while back. Now you have to go online to compare codes. I have no patience for that.
Hi NoNews! What's new?
ReplyDeleteBEBBI - Haven't played Monnopoly @ McDonald's in a long time. I only half-heartedly played, and mostly just threw out the pieces.
ReplyDeleteTINKA - My kids loved getting all the toys in their Happy Meals!!! The only ones I ever held onto were the mini Beanie Babies!!!
NO NEWZ - Welcome to the nest!!! I think you'll like it here. :D And I totally agree with GOLDIE......nice not to have to pander to the blogmeister!!! :P
LANI - Jump right in and snag first anytime!!! That is part of the fun of the nest!!
ReplyDeleteJ/Linda: I have strict instructions from Zona to get some sleep today!
ReplyDeleteThanks JODI. One day you will see me there.
ReplyDeleteHey Owls and Owlettes. I have a favor to ask or you. I was not going to ask, but a wise owl in this nest told me to share.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow morning I am going in for a "prodecure". Angioplasty with stents in both legs. Hopefully. They are not yet sure if they will be able to get thru the blockage to make this happen, but are hopefull. I will be home (thats the plan) tomorrow night and will probably be back blogging away on Saturday.
So my favor is just that you said a good word for me so that I am up and kicking in a few days. I know the power of prayer works (especially with tina's~ mom's connections!)
Thanks in advance.:)
Now back to your regular scheduled blogging!! :)
GOLDIE: My prayers and good thoughts will be with you! SWAK!
ReplyDeleteGOLDIE: I am glad you told us about the procedure. You have my prayers 100%. I am looking forward to seeing you Saturday. With Love to you, Lani
ReplyDeleteGoldie you are always in my thought and prayers! I will be sending out all positive vibes to you for tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteMuwaaaah and (((Hugs)))!
GOLDIE - You know that I'm already sending healing thoughts and prayers your way!!! And remember if you need ANYTHING, all you have to do is ask!!! Luv U....mean it!!!
ReplyDeleteBEBBI: I could never hold onto any of the McDonald's Monopoly pieces..or I would forget to take them altogether. I probably won ten times over the years!
ReplyDeleteSCIRISH: Congrats on FIRST!
LANI: Grab first whenever you can..LOL...but right now, shouldn't you be sleeping?? ;)
TINKA: Hope you are feeling better today! I have a whole trunk full of McDonald's toys..I think they breed in there...lol..
NONEWZ: Welcome!!
MARY/MI: Great to hear of your clean bill of health!
JODI: Hopeyouhaveagreatdaycrankupthosetunes!! :D
Waving HI to MEK, LYNND and BEAR!
Good Morning Mary, Jodi, and Zona-my-Baby.
ReplyDeleteMary - I am happy to hear you are getting a clean bill of health. That 'colon test' is not bad. I remember worrying about it and I was surprised it was so easy.
Jodi - I love most of the McDonald toys and have quite a collection. I wouldn't admit it until Rosie said she had one whole wall of McDonald's toys and that there is actually a convention one can attend in order to buy, sell or exchange. I guess there is a six year old in a lot of us.
Goldie - My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Zona - Thanks for the call today. It made my day.
Zona - Did you know that McDonald's toys are on my Santa list?
ReplyDeleteI got # 50 Wahoo!!!!
ReplyDeleteScirish:
ReplyDeleteCongrats on First!
:O)
TINKA - Congrats on 50!!!
ReplyDeleteZONA - Thats the longest word yet!!!
CAROL - I see you!!! Waving a wing from WESconsin!!!

Lani:
ReplyDeleteOh please, by all means, Go for First! It really is fun, Especially when you are pushing and shoving another owl for the reward of being first! It is quite satisfying.
:O)
Back to work for me...
ReplyDeleteTo All:
Have a great day!
Good morning friends!
ReplyDeleteI have sooo much to do today and so little time to do it so hope I have time to read comments later.
Bebbi, so funny this came up today. Someone had discarded their McD's garbage on our lawn last night and when YH picked it up, the game pieces were still attached! We were like, "wouldn't it be great if one of these was the winning piece to the big prize?" They were Park Place and something else so I don't think they were. We haven't eaten McD's in a very long time.
Gotta get a huge pile of filing done here at work and off to the police dept at lunch to be fingerprinted for the pet therapy work that my little ZiggyJ and I will start next month. Have a great day all!
TINKA: Congrats on 50!! McD's toys are on your list, are they..hmmm... ;)
ReplyDeleteJODI: Oh I can go bigger...lol..
HI CPGEM!!
JODI: Ummmm...I meant longer.. ;P
ReplyDeleteokay so i scanned ...
ReplyDeletegoldie - we've got you in our thoughts and prayers. what an amazing support system we have here in the nest!
I enjoyed reading your blog Bebbi. It brightened my day and gave me quite a chuckle. I don't go to McDonalds except when they have the Madame Alexander dolls to collect. It's hard to get all of them. I run around to every McD's ordering Happy Meals just to get the little dolls.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day Owls!
Hi Lois Lane!
ReplyDeleteStill not asleep, but I did yawn.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol. One of these days I will pop up 1st.
OUTATUUNE: Bless you for the work you do with animal rescue and pet therapy.
DREAMA: I have this vision of you with a car FULL of Happy Meals. LOL
68
ReplyDeletewho got 69?
ReplyDeletehow did that happen? tina must still be busy with prince charming and pinnochio.......
ReplyDelete69!!!
ReplyDeleteOUTATUNE - Congrats on 69!!!
ReplyDeleteZONA - Can't believe you left that one hanging!!! :P
scirish Congrats on first! Your Halloween avatar is very cute!
ReplyDeleteLani I had 8 hrs of sleep last night. Sorry! The only way I'd every be first on the blog is if I was awake all night. :)
Goldie I will definitely keep you in my thoughts. I just know everything will go really well.
NoNewz Welcome to the nest. I hope to see you again.
Bebbi Fun blog today. I hardly ever go to McDonald's so I didn't know about the game. Many years ago, our county newspaper had a treasure hunt. They gave one hint a week, with each hint taking you closer to the treasure. It was pretty difficult but a friend and I had a lot of fun with it.
Outatuune Congrats on 69!
ReplyDeleteJODI: Every once in a while ya just gotta let it hang..ya know?? ;)
ReplyDeleteOUTATUUNE: Congrats on that 69!! ;)
Morning J/LIN!!
ReplyDeleteJ/Linda: Oh you will be awake if I call you at 5:00 in the morning!
ReplyDeleteZona Good morning! I need to go get my butt in gear. I've been spending too much time with my coffee. BBL
ReplyDeleteSlani Hmmmmm...Watch your words. I am the one cooking tomorrow night. :P Okay, really going now. BBL
ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon! My silly delight is playing brick breaker on my cell phone. I am not much of a game player but this has me hooked. I figure it takes me about 45 min to play and if I am lucky I can get up to level 17 but NEVER beyond it. Some days I want to throw that phone/game at the wall...and don't interrupt me and make me lose the bouncing ball...lol
ReplyDeleteGOLDIE; I will include you in my prayers tonight. I am glad you told us as extra prayers and thoughts always help and maybe ZONA will light a candle for you. Between everyone's care, ZONA'S candle, and TINA's mom...you will be just fine. I will be thinking of you.. xxoo
J/L: My Shepards Pie turned out really good. We are going to a family gathering on Sunday and the hostess asked me to bring a special appetizer that I used to make when I cooked. As I told MrD..that's what happens when it gets out that I am cooking..requests...dang, my snacks are usually from the delie! I made a copy of the Shepards Pie recipe for my daughter and added some cheese on the printout in my writing and named it "mom's shepard pie" and the date so she will have a recipe to look back on me for..it is off the box but since I wrote on it ...cooking, recipe, right?
OUTATUNE: I hope you have a wonderful vacation. Relax and enjoy and take pictures.
Welcome to the next NONEWZ. We have a really great group here and have parties too!!SHIRLEY can fill you in on those!!

Lani~ go for it~ ALWAYS~
NoNews~ welcome~
TINA: I see you are back in_ut
ReplyDeleteI hope your trip was great.
Okay ZONA I am going to have lunch in a few minutes and then you will hear the crash.
ReplyDeleteTINA: You were meeting with your CEO? Did you ask for a promotion? Tickets for your Owl friends? More money? Tell us....
ReplyDeleteZONA: Are you asleep? Thanks for the cheerleader comment but I don't think it is going to help.
My husband has become friends with the McDonalds people near our place as he goes there often for a Sugar Free Vanilla Iced Coffee. I was very lucky during the Wizard Of Oz time a few weeks ago, they gave me all of them at once (about 20). Now they are having Barbie dolls so they give those to him for the kids. I sometimes get a McKids Meal for myself and they put the toy in there too.
TINK: Tell me when you are looking for some toys and I will see if they are giving them out yet.
Well, my cousin is in town for my daughter's birthday party so I am going to head over there to visit and have dinner. The next three days are going to be busy with Tammy's bday, family party on Sunday, etc., but lots of fun!
Goldie:
ReplyDeleteSending rainbow vibes from paradise.....
You are gonna be a ok!!!!
Hi K-Girl, I haven't seen you for awhile. How are you doing? You are about to be making us the envy of weather in the next couple of months. Any plans for a vist to the cold?
ReplyDeleteGoldie: All the best on your procedure. The good news about stents is, they work!
ReplyDeleteHello, Zona!
Hi All!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first scirish!!
Phew, long day and a lot of walking! 10,419 steps so far, I am aiming for 12,000 today. :)
Going to read the comments.
Scirish! Get those pieces out of the drawer and go to www.playatmcd.com and input them! There are still 15 100,000 prizes left. They are giving away a prize an hour today!
ReplyDeleteLani: You Too!!
The game is over November 3rd.
Whabby: That is cool that this brought back memories for you. It is fun to collect and try to win stuff. I never tire of it, I never win, but I never tire of it. I guess it is like Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, I am always in hopes of finding the golden tickets. In this case, the golden arches.
Reading more, but posting this so far.
90
ReplyDeleteDianne/Denver: LOL, about the cell phone games. I play Jewel Quest for prizes on mine.
ReplyDeleteCool Tina, at least one other who loves it. :)
Lois Lane aka No News: WELCOME!! It is always nice to have new blood, especially around halloween Muahh ha ha ..., no seriously, I always see your posts on Ross's blog, really REALLY glad to have you come here too!
Reading more...writing more in a sec..anyone tired of me yet?
Dianne - Thanks for the offer. I will let you know when I see a good McD promotion. The toys haven't been very good lately. Off to the bank with my niece. I hope we have the house sold before the economy crumbles on top of us.
ReplyDeleteZona - Is there a new Grey's tonight? I bought season three of Ghost Whisperer. I watched some of them before I had one and two. Now they make some sense to me.
Have a good evening everyone.
Is any one in the nest to help me count to 100?
ReplyDelete94
ReplyDelete95
ReplyDelete96
ReplyDeleteI guess not. Here goes.
ReplyDelete98
ReplyDelete99
ReplyDelete100
ReplyDeleteI did it. I think that's my first time to get 50 and 100. What prize do I get? Maybe a McD toy.
ReplyDeletejust lin: The treasure hunt sounds fun. A long time ago, there was a book published that had puzzles and clues to a big treasure somewhere in the United States. I can't remember the name of it, but that book was popular.
ReplyDeleteMek: Thanks for the good wishes on the game pieces. Okay, been trying for 20 years, seriously doubt I will ever get the good ones..but What the heck! :)
LynnD: No need to be sorry, toss away.
Tink: The show was called "Supersize it" and the guy does a show called "30 days" or something like that. He ate McDs for 30 days and had doctors show the damage to his body. Everytime they would ask if he wanted to Supersize it, he did and he had to eat it all. He ate only McDonalds every meal.
It is a really good documentary if you want to rent it. It changed some of McDonald's ways.
When I was in college and my kids were young, I wrote a letter to McDonalds and asked them to allow a choice for children besides french fries. My children always wanted salads (I know, they were different) so I would have to give them some of mine. They didn't do it back then, but they did send me a bunch of gift certificates for free food. I worked fulltime, raised my kids and went to school part time, we ate McDonald's regularly. One night a week they had "kids eat free night". Hubby and I would take the kids over and I would get a salad (do you remember Salad Shakers?)..and they would all eat free.
Okay, I am rambling on and on about McDonald's..I must be very strange..hehe
Tink: My oldest son loves pandas. When they had the pandas for the movie, he got about 10 of them from his friends and family..lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on 50 and 100!! too!
ReplyDeleteOuttatune: The pet therapy sounds neat and that is funny about the game pieces. No Park Place isn't one, if you find the other one let me know and I will tell you if it is the "good" one.
ReplyDeleteCarol: LOL, shoe shopping is a great silly delight too!! Glad I could enlighten you on the McD's thing.
ReplyDeleteLOL Lani, about the crooked picture thing.
ReplyDeleteokay, back to walk till I get 12,000. I will be back in a bit. Sorry for the mega postings.
ReplyDeleteHappy Early Evening...
ReplyDeleteWest Virginia football starts in 10 minutes - so i have to make this quick!!!

ReplyDeleteDIANNE: I actually have three going for GOLDIE! LOL @ adding cheese and renaming the recipe...heck, that's what I do! Martha X 2!!! ;)
ReplyDeleteTINA: Oh yeah, Baaaaby...I would have fit harder in there if it would have made sense... ;)
LANI: I hope you're sleeping right now. Take it from the resident nonsleeper..if you stay awake too long, it's bound to bite you in the butt...hmmmm..not that that's always a bad thing. ;)
DIANNE2: Cheerleading always helps..I'll even help you make up some cheers! It's fun! :D
KGRL!! :)
BEBBI: I don't dislike the game, just always lose the pieces...me and my piece loss..it's chronic. ;)
TINKA: Congrats on 100!! I'm not sure about Grey's...geez I hope so. I need my McDreamy fix somethin' awful!!
VIG: Hope you're enjoying those gooey treats!! ;)
JODI: :) :) :D SWAK!!!
Boob update.. I was pressed and poked and thank goodness they popped back to their original shape lol!!!
ReplyDeleteI was told everything was fine.
Goldie I know you will be fine too. You can count on me for prayers.
Tinkatia, thanks for the reassurance. I am a big baby sometimes! I have heard that the procedure for the test is a lot better than it used to be. My Dr. said colon cancer is one of the most preventable cancers their is.
Tina, have you been "brown nosing"?
MEK: HOWDY!
ReplyDeleteMARY/MI: So glad you got good results...
ReplyDeleteMary It was rather unfortunate that you asked Tina if she was brown nosing right after you wrote about a colonoscopy. Bwahahahaha!!!!
ReplyDeleteLani must have finally crashed. She has straightened out the picture hanging above my fireplace. :)
ReplyDeleteZona: Sorry to hear you lose your pieces! It's better than never gettin' a piece, I presume. :)
ReplyDeletej/l..LOL about the brown nosin' comment..too funny!
ReplyDeleteThanks Zona
ReplyDeleteJustlynn & Bebbi~ You two crack me up!
Hi MEK! You will have mail in a couple minutes.
ReplyDeleteMEK - we'll be there next Wednesday if we don't get tickets to our first choice, The View. They said tickets aren't delivered until about three days from the show date. If that's the case, I think our View tickets should arrive by Saturday.
ReplyDeleteJane Krakowski is on R&K on Wednesday. We would def be there if it were Thursday because Tina Fey is the guest that day.
They're doing Halloween all next week on The View. I think it's cool to be able to be in either audience live!
If we go to R&K, we can't be in line for The View so it has to be one or the other.
Tink - congrats on 50 & 100!
No_newz - welcome!
Zona - thanks for leaving 69 for me...sorry Jodi & Tina. I was so sure someone was posting #69, which is why I was asking who got it. Who knew it'd be bashful lil ole me? ;o)
Bebbi - keep on walkin'!! You go girl!! I'll look at that other game piece when we get home tonight if YH didn't throw it away.
Mary/MI - I've already had the colonoscopy twice and will be due for #3 next year, I think. The docs do it because my mom died from it. The first time I had 8 polyps, which the doc said can turn into cancer but it usually takes 6-8 years. Five years later, I didn't have any new growths -- yayyyy!!! The worst part of the procedure for me was the prep. One whole day of clear liquids going in and a whole night of other stuff shooting out...hope that's not TMI!
Goldie: Good luck tomorrow with your procedure and you are definitely in my thoughts and prayers!! You will be fine, hurry back and recover quickly!
ReplyDeleteOutatune, not TMI. I have heard that the prep. was then nasty part of it. So glad you are doing fine. Keep getting those tests. I don't want to lose any of my owls! My hooter tree would be out of balance lol!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was just a lass of ten, my mother said to me,
ReplyDeleteCome here and learn a lesson from the lovely hooter tree.
Dont put your faith in love, my girl, my mother said to me,
I fear you'll find that love is like the lovely hooter tree.
Hooter tree very pretty and the Hooter flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor Hooter is impossible to eat.
Hooter tree very pretty and the Hooter flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor hooter is impossible to eat.
Beneath the hooter tree one day, my love and I did a lie
A boy so sweet that when he smiled the sun rose in the sky.
We passed that summer lost in love beneath the hooter tree
The music of his laughter hid my mothers words from me:
Hooter tree very pretty and the Hooter flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor hooter is impossible to eat.
Hooter tree very pretty and the Hooter flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor hooter is impossible to eat.
One day he left without a word. he took away the sun.
And in the dark he left behind, I knew what he had done.
He'd left me for another, its a common tale but true.
A sadder woman but wiser now I sing these words to you:
Hooter tree very pretty and the Hooter flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor hooter is impossible to eat.
Hooter tree very pretty and the hooter flower is sweet
But the fruit of the poor hooter is impossible to eat.
The Lovely Hooter Tree
ReplyDeleteBbbi, ROTFLMAO!!!
ReplyDeleteOOPS,! You had me rolling on the floor so much that I misspelled your name!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't resist. When I saw "Hooter Tree", I started singing it.
ReplyDeleteGoldie~
ReplyDeleteWishing you the best outcome tomorrow with the procedure. Sending positive prayers your way, and to your physican, as well.
Hope you will be up and around in a short time.
♥♥♥
Hi Ronniegirl!
ReplyDeleteHello Everyone.
ReplyDeleteI want to thank you ALL for your kind wishes and prayers. I knew that I would get nothing less from all of you - and it means an awful lot.
I am sure all will be fine, and I will be blogging away on Saturday. Probably talk your ear off while I lay around being bored! No lifting, bending, or stairs for 48 hours. So sleeping on the couch and no shower for a couple of days :( BUT- I married a prince who will wait on me hand and foot and take good care of me.
Mr. Goldie will be calling Jodi to give her the update in case I cant post tomorrow.
Thank you all- you are dear to me.
MARY: I am glad everything is okay.
ReplyDeleteJ/SLIN: You beat me to the "brown nose" comment. 2 twisted minds in harmony.
ZONA : I finally crashed and woke up feeling like a lead balloon.
Before I crashed I finally rinsed off my car. It looked like the bottom of a bird cage and a haunted house, as it had bird dejecta and spider webs all over it. Should have left it for halloween.
BEBBI: You started us off on a good foot.
Lani: Glad to hear that. :)
ReplyDeleteNight all, I hope everyone has a great night and sweet dreams!
ReplyDeleteOh I forgot! Just in case things don't go well, JODI has promised to make potato salad for the wake. Baaahaaaahhaaaaa!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust Kidding- going to bed now to snuggle in and watch ER of all things!
My comment disappeared!
ReplyDeleteGoodnight Bebbi & Goldi z-z-z-z
Thanks lani! :+)
Best of luck tomorrow Goldie. (((((HUGS)))))
ReplyDeleteOutatuune have a terrific trip! Take lots of pictures.
ReplyDeleteGood evening owls everywhere!
ReplyDeleteBebbi I don't play the McD monopoly because I have no money and I don't have a McD near me. But I would if I could.
Our local coffe shop (Tim Horton's) has a "Roll Up The Rim To Win" contest a couple times a year. You can win anything from a donut to coffee to money to a car and more. I usually only win the odd donut or cup of coffee.
Good night everyone.
Good Evening Everyone!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've missed you all♥♥♥
Mr. B still has things to do with the comp. but, I wanted to stop in and say Hi!!
Also, a sweet Owl(Ronnie) told me about Dear Goldies' post. Sooo, I pushed Mr. B aside. ;o)

ReplyDeleteWelcome!
Bebbi I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI always start the game, but I never follow through with it.
I sure do like eating there!
Owls,
ReplyDeleteI'm on overload right now with report cards, parent/teacher conferences (next week), Halloween parties (three this weekend), an extremely dirty house ( even the spiders are disgusted), and other crap too tedious to mention.
I will try to check in once a day.
Have a peaceful sleep tonight!
MEK, Congrats on WV winning! I was cheering for you!
ReplyDeleteHi Shirley & iteach!
ReplyDeleteBye Shirley & iteach!!
A little humor.
ReplyDeleteIt was mealtime during a flight on Hooters Airline. 'Would you like dinner?' the flight attendant asked John, seated in front. 'What are my choices?' John asked. 'Yes or no,' she replied.
A flight attendant was stationed at the departure gate to check tickets. As a man approached, she extended her hand for the ticket and he opened his trench coat and flashed her. Without missing a beat, she said, ' Sir, I need to see your ticket, not your stub.'
A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at the grocery store but she couldn't find one big enough for her family. She asked a stock boy, 'Do these turkeys get any bigger?' The stock boy replied, 'No ma'am, they're dead.'
A blonde goes to the post office to buy stamps for her Christmas cards. She says to the clerk, 'May I have 50 Christmas stamps?'
The clerk says, 'What denomination?' The blonde says, 'God help us. Has it come to this? Well, then, give me 6 Catholic, 12 Presbyterian, 10 Lutheran and 22 Baptists.'
A woman is standing nude looking in the bedroom mirror. She is not happy with what she sees and says to her husband, 'I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment.' The husband replies, 'Your eyesight's damn near perfect.'
He never heard the shot.
lol shirley~ never heard the shot~

ReplyDeleteBebbi, great blog today. We used to play the McD's games when the kids were home, but I rarely go to McD's now. I hope you win, though.
ReplyDeleteScirish, Congrats on #1.
Gioldie, I have added you to my prayer list. I am sorry to hear that you have have this procedure, but I'm sure it will go well for you. My son had 4 stents put in last year and he is doing fine.
LynnD, I mailed my ballot today and had somewhat the same feelings as you. It was hard for me to drop it in the box. I checked it over a dozen times before I licked that envelope.
Mary, Glad that you got a clean bill of health. I got your card. Thanks. It was our pleasure to taxi you around. Say 'hi' to Raquel for me.
Tinka, Congrats on 50 m& 100.
Lani, I got my cedar chest with green stamps. And I saved the blue stamps too.

ReplyDeleteTO THE OWLS (and chickenowls!)
Hello friends!
I don't know what is wrong with my computer or what, but I can not seem to post on the nest. I keep meeting up with the FOAD monster.
He isn't being very nice to me lately!!
I am reading everyday and enjoying the blogs and the comments. I have tried to add my 2 cents, but to no avail.
Just know I am there in spirit and I MISS YOU ALL very much!
Don't forget me while I'm gone!!!!!!
Hopefully this weekend I can figure out what the heck is going on.
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} to you all.
Maureen
