This Night Owl Blog has given so much! It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"! We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly. And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :) It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!

They do! Whabby and Huz~
Today is a special day for one of our most favorite bloggers, Whabby is getting married, and I could not be more overjoyed and excited for him.
I remember being on Rossland, and sharing my thoughts thru comments, and each day I would check to see what was new. As I checked daily, names of bloggers started to register in my memory, and I became familiar with those names, they were unknown people to me, however my interest was aroused, and its seems I was hooked.
Whabbear, I thought, what a funny name, what the heck could that mean? Now I should not even think of trying to figure out a pseudo, because with cpgem8, who the heck was I to decipher.
As I read the comments daily, I began to look for his comments, just to see what this Whabbear was up to. I noticed he was very witty, and extremely knowledgeable of our world events. He was very open on his life style and always interacted with other bloggers, Welcoming them, giving advice, offering a helping hand to those in need. He was never afraid of the unknown (as I was) he put himself out there in cyberspace, and continued to be a loyal blogger on Rossland. When Rossland was just a small community Ross would have "Blogger of the Month" and one month Whabby was nominated, and it was well deserved. I can still see his picture with drink in hand toasting his nomination, his smile so wide with happiness.
My memory is a little fuzzy, on how it exactly happen, but one day, Whabby, gave me a shout out, I stared at my computer screen not knowing how to answer. As not many acknowledged me, so it really was my first "blogger connect". I am not sure how I answered in my comment, but from that comment on, we became cyberfriends. We were now corresponding thru e-mail, this was so new to me, yet I was comfortable, as that is what Whabby does, he makes you feel comfortable even tho he knows you might not be, he extends his hand, and one just has to hold on. I guess that was when I was official to him, cpgem8 had a real name, and he took the time to find out.
When Ross, asked us bloggers to stop chatting thru comments, and to find another outlet for our "tediousness". I immediately went into action to find us a forum. I e-mailed Whabby, for I needed his thoughts on my idea. He told me to "go for it" that is was more important to keep us bloggers together and if it meant that we needed to branch off, so be it, and the nest began.
I remember so many times his posting's on how marriage was so important to him, and how it should be legal for all to be married, no matter the gender, or circumstance's, we are all equal, and our rights should all be the same. He once said, when the day comes that marriage is legalized for all and he would be able to marry Huz, one of his dreams would come true.
So today one of Whabby's dreams is coming true, and I could not let this day go by without acknowledging the marriage of two people so very much in love. Their lives will intertwine with each other, their dreams have now become a reality. The future is endless when one becomes two, as it is now possible for the marriage to be.
To the happy couple, I say Congratulations, may your marriage be blessed with Health, Wealth, Happiness, Good Friends, Family in Abundance, Sundays at the Lone Star, Weekends in Palm Springs, and of course lots of Good Bear Sex!!!
We all lift up our glasses and toast you and Huz, for this is surely a happy day!
Cheers!

Cheers to you both!
cpgem - I also wanted to share a "whabby" story..
ReplyDeleteHe was the reason that I felt safe in attending last year's BABB bbq. He took GREAT care of me and Auntie Mame while we were visiting a "strange" land.. and felt comfortable enough to introduce us to Huz......
I have been lucky enough to meet up with him two other times as well. In Phoenix and at this year's BBQ - we teased each other that we needed to stop meeting like this - that people were going to talk!!
AND, Huz felt comfortable enough to attend the BBQ and meet some of Whabby's blog buddies...
CHEERS!!!!
THIRTY
ReplyDeletegood morning, Lynn D...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first, iteach--have fun today!
ReplyDeleteCarol, wonderful words for Whabbear today!
Whabbear, may you have the most beautiful of days today as you begin your married life with Huz. I'm really so happy for you both.
Birdee, I hope you have a good day doing your "stuff!"
Moweenie, I wish I could have gone with Mr. Sandie, too, to see YOU--not so much his family. Oh! Did I say that?
Good morning Ronnie and MEK and LynnD!
I had to get up at normal school day time to get my son out the door this morning. He's taking the SATs again. Poor baby. Poor me. LOL! I think a nap is called for today or I'll fall asleep at book club tonight!
Have a great Saturday! Shirley, I hope you're feeling better today! Hugs to you!
Good Morning Friends.
ReplyDeleteI would like to add my congratulations to Whabbear and Huz. I don't know Huz but I love Bear. He has always been there for me as he has for others. He is the best bear there is.

ReplyDeleteHappy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteAnd happy wedding day to Bear and Huz. I am so happy for you and hope you have a wonderful day!
I was so glad to get to meet Huz, what a nice man!
Yesterday was MR. EBJ's birthday, so we will have a small get-together here later to celebrate.
I need to catch up on the blog from yesterday and day before.
Have a nice day everyone!
Carol, you have made me choke up and made me (almost) speechless. Jim and I are overwhelmed!
ReplyDeleteHow could I not have gotten curious, back in the day, about a Rossblogger named cpgem8, with your distinctive poetry-like posts and wonderful positive words. I still remember my excitement the night I was in chat and heard Janet mention your real name. She knew who you were! She even knew how to contact you off the blog! It was information that I quickly exploited, and a friendship that I treasure was born.
And thanks so much to all of you, yesterday (hi, SacBarb!) and today, for the good wishes! Just this morning, to iteach, birdee, 'weenie, ronniegirl (yes! A gift indeed!), MEK (another blogger who has become a treasured friend), Lynn D (Yes! It IS the friendship with Huz that is the foundation for all this!), Sandie (check your MySpace), and Judy (Happy Birthday to MR EBJ!!)!
And to Audrey: Awwwww! Someday, Jim (the soon to be Mr Whabbear... can't wait to be able to call him that officially!!) and I will meet you in person... I guarantee it and look forward to it!
It IS indeed a HAPPY SATURDAY!
ReplyDeleteTo Bear & Huz, a few borrowed words.....
as 'Harry' said to 'Sally' in the movie:
When you realize you want to spend
The rest of your life with somebody,
You want the rest of the life
To start as soon as possible.
* * * *
May you be friends to each other as only lovers can; and may you love each other as only best friends can.
* * * *
May your love be modern enough to survive the times and old-fashioned enough to last forever!
CONGRATULATIONS WHABBEAR & HUZ!! I am so glad this day has come for you at last! May it be as wonderful as you are...and as beautiful as the love you have for one another!
ReplyDeleteHappy, Happy Day!!
HAPPY WEDDING DAY, ROB & JIM!
ReplyDeleteI will certainly be thnking of the both of you, wishing you the most beautiful of days, sunshine, lollipops and rainbows! (sorry that old song just popped into my head)!
The wonderful rain we experienced last night has cleared the air, gorgeous blue sky is popping out of fluffy white clouds, and I just know that tonight when you say your vows to each other, that maybe even a Rainbow or two may appear!!!

ZONABABY~ Hi! Have a fantastic Saturday
Well, my friends, I found out the MAGIC WEDDING HOUR from our dear Seaside Lady.
Bear and Huz will be exchanging vows at 6:00 PM Pacific Time.
So, if any of you would like to join me, I will be raising my glass to them here on the Nest at that time!
Well, here I am typing away and I should be getting Miss Laurie and myself in the shower and out the door!
Laurie is spending the day with a friend, and I am attending a Ladies Lunch with women I have met through the years, all mothers of children with Special Needs.
We started this last year, and it was so nice to be re-acquainted with these fantastic women, some of whom I hadn't seen since Laurie was a toddler!
I was assigned to make an Appetizer. And being the lazy person that I am at times, went straight to Trader Joes and bought the frozen Brie with Raspberry sauce wrapped in Fillo, and Greek Spanakop'ita, filled with spinach, ricotta and feta, also in Fillo.
Just Heat and Eat! Sounds easy to me!
I hope everyone enjoys their day, and I will meet back here promptly at 6 pm PT, to toast Rob & Jim!
Peace and Love to all,
Donna Jean & Laurie Elizabeth

iteach I meant to say "How special, indeed, to show up FIRST on today's very special blog."

Birdee~~I think Carol wants to see the new pink outfit I bought you yesterday!
Errands calling.....bbl!
Carol,
ReplyDeleteYou've got Myspace mail. I hope you like the one I picked. I am so sorry about not writing a blog lately, it just has been so busy around here. With my daughter's fainting spell, my mother's moving and my walking, I have had no time at all.
I had a big yard sale today and yesterday. We did really good! We made $260 !!! That is the best I have ever done. I feel really good because I spent two weekends ago helping my mom pack and move. I took everything she didn't want and priced/boxed it. Then I advertised in Craigslist, put up signs, took off on Friday and had a HUGE yard sale..actually it was on the driveway. Then, I took the rest of the stuff to Goodwill. I feel very happy with my accomplishments.
Well, I hope everyone else is having a good day. I have officially lost 25 lbs now! :)
I don't think if I hadn't of lost the weight that I could have done all this.
Cheers to Whabby and Mr. Whabby!! :)
Good afternoon everyone.
ReplyDeleteiteach, #1 today!!
Carol what a sweet post for our Whabbear! I am so happy that I got to meet him and Jim this summer. I got a mini crush on Jim lol! He was so down to earth and friendly. They are a sweet couple. Loads of luck to the both of you!
I won't be home at 6, but will be watching the clock where ever I am and raise my glass to them both.
Tinka~ MUAH!!

Iteach:
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry If I upset you on Thursdays blog about the Debate, its just that I don't think I was that into it, sometimes things like politics depress me and I am already depressed about things, so I wanted to do something fun with my kids. Plus all three of my kids have special needs my oldest is ADHD , my middle one was diagnosed with Cerbal Palsy, due to me spotting in my 14th week, they said he lost some oxygen, he didn't walk until 17 months, and he's been in school since 18th months, the doctor said hes Cerbal Palsy is mild that only and doctor and parents can see it, now hes only on the 504 program in school and getting A's and B's, plus Victor is ADD and had a lot of trouble learning to read and write, but he goes so Special Education for 2 hours each day with a special teacher. I'm sorry if I upset you about the debate, I didn't mean too.
I will come back to comment on the blog, I have to run to Meijers or KMarts to get things for Victors All About Me Post due Monday.
ReplyDeleteOh, good heavens, no Renee you did not upset me about the debate.
ReplyDeleteThe debate itself got my feathers ruffled. It was more intense for me then the presidential debate.
Some of the main issues of the debate are effecting my household right now, so I entraced by all their answers.
I really like how factcheck.org really gives you insight. Both sides like to stretch the truth.
Shirley, I wish you could make Whabby's cake and we would be eating it right now together.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm just going to pretend we are!
Iteach it's been a few years since I made a wedding cake. The groom still mentions it whenever I seen him.
ReplyDeleteIteach and Shirley - i vote for cake also!!! YUMMY!!!
ReplyDeleteI have to raise my glass now - as my dinner is coming out of the oven!!

"The Perfect Day"
ReplyDeleteBlue skies and sunny days
With warm breeze as green grass sways
Spaced clouds fill the sky
Birds are chirping as they fly
Laughs and voices fill the air
And smiles on faces everywhere
Nothing bad will happen at all
No trees will die with an epic fall
This is a day of peace and love
And angels come down from up above
Earth is heaven and heaven is earth
And all of God’s full love is fully dispersed
I love you and you love me
Everyone everywhere is calm and living happy
Nothing in the world could get me down
Nothing in the world could make me frown
This is The Perfect Day!
Raising my glass,
To Rob & Jim, with love,
Donna Jean & Laurie Elizabeth

May you all have a lovely evening. I am going to get on my PJ's and settle in for the night!
Be back tomorrow.
Peace and Love to All,

CAROL...I thought about BIRDEE and her gift of flight...so I locked her in her cage before the ceremony began!
ReplyDeleteCheers to Whabby and Hubby!! Sorry I am so late!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Robert & Huz! Great blog Carol!
ReplyDeleteMy real life friends have even heard stories about this NASA chemist named Wabbear. What made Robert stick out in my mind from the beginning was the fact that he has so much knowledge but yet he can still be a goof that cracks me up. One of the times that he had me in stitches was a couple months ago in chat and he was listening to Cher singing with Beavis & Butthead. It doesn't get much better than that. :0)
Trqadition has it that we shower the happy couple with rice...so I brought three baskets and put them
ReplyDeleteon the low branches. Now Shirley, don't get this confused with those balloons you use for throwing.
Hope everyone has a wonderful evening.
Okay, I'm clinking, my diet coke can to have the newlyweds kiss!

And my feelings aren't hurt that you refused to allow me to Vera Wang your wedding attire and bling your grill with Flavor Flav's gold teeth.

I will talk to you all later and have a great night..watch out and don't drink to much champagne. And someone make sure and watch that whiskey if Shirley comes around. :) Hugs to all. Congrats to the Happy Couples!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the new couples!!!!
ReplyDeleteWeddings are a very special Day.
John and I will be celebrating 22 years next Saturday, and my in-laws celebrated 44 yesterday.
Iteach, I'm glad I didn't upset you. This years election is very important I know that, it upsets my husband that I don't sit there like him and my mother and watch the debates.
Well K-mart had nothing, but poster board to mount the All About Me paper on, sooooo off to Meijers I go tomorrow. I always put things off, but I forgot about this project.
Thanks Jodi on letting me know about the donuts, I love Crispy Creme, I havent had one in a few years.
Good Night Everyone!!!!!

ReplyDeleteI think its perfect! ♥♥♥
**running into Owl Manor** I'm late for the toast!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Robert and Jim!!
**clink, clink**
I just received this in an email from one of my son's. I thought I'd share it with the nest. The graphic was a red, white, and blue condom.
ReplyDeleteOfficial Announcement:
The government today announced that it is changing its emblem from an Eagle to a CONDOM because it more accurately reflects the government's political stance.
A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed!
Damn, it just doesn't get more accurate than that!
Congratulations, Goldie's son!!
ReplyDeleteI am so hungry now for wedding cake!
ReplyDeleteIt is my favorite part at a wedding.
Hi..Sorry I am late for the wedding. I have been on the go all day and just got home. I ran to the wedding and heard the chicken dance so I had to run out on the dance floor....who let BIRDIE out?
ReplyDeleteI am toasting to you BEAR AND HUZ and sending warm thoughts. I wish you both many many years of love, health and fun! I have been fortunate enough to meet BEAR and have dinner with him and he was very fun and nice to meet! Congratulations on your special day today!
Can I have a refill, please? Ok, now lifting my glass to GOLDIE's son...again CONGRATULATIONS!! I am picturing GOLDIE on that pole right now. Did the dress hide the tassels?
Looks like I missed all the wedding food but oh look---baskets of rice..mmmmm good!
ReplyDeleteSACBARB: Did you see yesterday how JUSTLIN had figured out a way that you and I are almost related? I had to laugh and her thought process. :)
ITEACH: Don't get on that darn scale on weekends so at least you will be dry-eyed for two days. You make me chuckle!
Yes Dianne, I saw that comment and I responded to it. Talk about 6 degrees...I LMAO.
ReplyDeleteLife imitating art...we're tossing back shots and dancing along with 'Chicago (the musical)' on "E!" Is this Goldie I see doing the 'Cell Block Tango'~?
ReplyDeleteHey Ladies,
ReplyDeleteIf you see any shopping websites that have free shipping, please let me know.
As we get closer to the holidays some of them will start advertising free shipping for certain weekends.
Our Christmas Club Check came in the mail today, so it is on my mind.
Bon'o, LOL @ Goldie doing the Cell Block Tango. Chicago is one of my favorite musicals, both on the stage and in the movies.
ReplyDeleteOh, my! Are we imagining Goldie to be thrown in jail? Now that would really embarrass her son! LOL
