Something?

Maxine Is always up to "Something"

Something is definitely up, Something is a coming, Something is here, not sure what it is, but Something is a new.

There is always something happening, or something going on. I have something this weekend and I had something last weekend. I now have something pressing, which is a important something.

Somethings never change, why, because there is always something.

Each day there is something, it might be a little something, but something none the less. And some days its a big something. When I talk with people they always have something to say, they tell me something all the time. Even tho I might not want to hear it, its something, so I must listen.

My day always begins with something, and by days end something happened for me to tell somebody something happen.

And my dad, well that is a whole other something, his somethings never have a name, cause he always forgets the name of somethings so he just says
"there is something I need"
"what is that something called"
"something is ringing"
"something is in the driveway"
"Something is beeping"
"That guy is something"
"I said something, but I don't remember what it was"

TRANSLATION

Print out of his bank statment
Geez, it could be anything
Phone
Newspaper
Microwave
Bill O'Reilly
Thank Goodness, cause not sure If I wanted to hear it!

I wish some days something would not happen, but then I would bust from not going to the bathroom, because that is something, right? And if I bust, well that would be something to clean up.

So when something occurs, go for it, because without something, we would have nothing. And we all know when nothing happens that is surely something.

:O)

  22. Maureen - Yes the rain has finally stopped. It is just a 'drizzle' now. Tango and Tia are happy. They didn't even like to run out to the backyard, let alone go for a walk. We will be soon walking each day in the rain. We all have good raincoats. We just don't walk when there is rain and wind. It's not fun for us.

Bebbi - Congratulations on the weight loss. You are doing great.

Lynn - I am happy your new baby is doing so well. Every ounce counts when they are that young.

Dianne - Does this mean you are older than I am now? Is that how this age thing works?

VIG - I am glad you are home for a while. Hope you got more sleep last night.

I have fed my 'babies'. Now I will put on the fires and have some breakfast. I love Saturdays. I guess that's a 'throw back' from my teaching days.

To all You Little Owls out there - May something good happen today.

ZONA~ Congrats on # 1!! And the picture you took of the gorgeous Arizona sunset was awesome!

EBJ~ Happy Anniversary to you and Mr EBJ!! I think you should get some Take-Out from that lovely Mexican Restaurant that we all went to at the BBQ, (after all, it is where you had your first date)! come home, make some delicious Margarita's, sit in front of your fireplace, and well, you take it from there!!! Happy Happy Day to You Both!

BEBBI~ Congrats to you, my dear! 40lbs, that is terrific! High fives to you!!

SHIRLEY~ sure hope your humidifier came last night, and that you finally got a good night's sleep. Laurie uses a CPAP also, so I know how important those machines are.

DIANNE~ I hope your Special Day is Wonderful, and filled with laughter, joy and happiness!!!

I really have "nothing" to do today, but I am sure "something" will pop up!

I am taking advantage this morning of Laurie sleeping in, and am going to go catch up on 5 episodes of "Denny, Denny Crane", so I guess that is my "something" for a few hours!

Have a lovely weekend everyone, and whatever "somethings" happen, I hope they are fun and happy "somethings". It seems everyone has had "something" not so good happening lately in their lives, and its time to turn that around!

It's a new day, change is in the air, I feel it! Do you??

    Peace and Love to All,

Jax Good to see you again! Your silly owl avatar is really something.

Carol Loved your blog today! There's something special about you, that's for sure!

I have nothing planned for this weekend. Of course I will do something, not just sit here like a bump on a log. It's just that the something I do will probably not be noteworthy in any way. I've been having a long section of fence repaired and the work will be completed today so that is surely something.

cpGEM...what a fun blog!! I am having a lazy morning of doing nothing but I guess as you said doing nothing is doing something so I can justify my laziness by saying I am doing something. And I am very, very busy at it!!!!

  38. Cute blog Carol.
Jax great to see you again. I looked for you over at Ants which is a place I rarely go.
    Happy birthday Dianne.
Shirley I am very sorry and send you hugs and prayers. Cancer happens too often. I read a message that PozMikey put up on Twitter and his Mom has breast cancer.
Tinkatia I watched GW last night also and was a bit confused. I guess a main character is dying. I didn't see all of it because I was also watching another show and flipping back and forth.
It's a nice sunny day here today. The nights are kind of cold but at least it's warm during the day time so we are off this afternoon to the Greek Fest. All are welcome to come! :0)

  39. Carol, I got 20, 25 and 50 today so I guess I accomplished
    "something" today.

VIG - So many kind owls have offered to send some sunshine. Look out your window, I actually see the sun trying to peak through the clouds. I can't believe it. Thank you Owls who live in sunny areas.

Just_Lin - I just went back and read area 51, the part I missed after I went to bed. I guess I am in the minority as I see people commenting about "Ghost Whisperer" being great last night. I hated it. If Jim becomes a 'ghost companion' like Rex Harrison was in "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir", then they have lost this fan. I may even give away the three seasons that I bought. Jim and Melinda's scenes together were the best part of the show for me. I can see them ending the series the same as the movie I mentioned. She will die and they go into the light together. Been there, seen that. Exit Tinka now.

Must get something done that is constructive. Have a great day everyone.

  40. Happy Saturday Owls.

Carol, I loved this blog. The whole time I was reading I was thinking "Carol has channeled Jerry Seinfeld." First a blog about nothing and now a blog about something. YOU are really something!

    Thanks for the smiles.

Tinka, Congrats on 20, 25, and 50. That's really something, too.

Mo, Hope you feel better soon.

Shirley, So sorry about Rose. Sending out positive thought to you and your family.

EBJ, Happy Anniversary to you and Mr. EBJ. Hope you do something really fun.

Jax, Good to see you here. You are always missed when you are away.

DONNA JEAN, I hope you enjoyed your morning.

I always look forward to GW each week, however I didn't like the ending last night at all. It looks like he will be her Ghostly sidekick. I will just have to see how I feel about it next week.

  49. Hello Again!

Well, I didn't get in my "Denny Crane" fix yet!

I decided after I posted to get out of my PJ's and TRY to do "something" constructive today, instead of just being super lazy!
(Oh, the lazy part WILL happen, just later in the day)

I got into the shower, dressed, and went to the grocery store to get the fixins' for Shepherds Pie (thank you EBJ for your recipe) since it is grey(or is it gray??)and gloomy, and no rain yet. But, I digress. This weather makes me so desirous for comfort food.

So, I came back home, chopped up all the necessary veggies (carrots, onions, celery, and potatoes for the mashed potatoes) because I just KNEW that when it comes time to actually cook this evening, I would not want to do all that chopping, and then I would say to myself, "Donna, just order pizza and cook tomorrow".

NO, Miss Laurie and I are having a delicious Shepherd's Pie tonight!

So, what are all of you lovely Owls having tonight???

I just checked, and a few more Lovely Owls have posted!

Waving to J/L,VIG, DREAMA, SACBARB, MARY/MI(give hugs to Raquel from us, please) Hope your evening is fun and you all have "something" going on!

LANI~ thanks for the shout out! I think you and Lin and I should meet sometime in between Pacifica and Santa Rosa, and have lunch/dinner. I have met most of the Owls that live in the Bay Area. You and Lin are the last hold-outs!

IBB~ I love going to craft shows. I always find way too many beautiful homemade things. I hope the Benefit for your friends' husband is successful. Since My Laurie has heart issues, I am always concerned when I hear of a story like yours.

    ***COMPUTER HELP NEEDED***

Do computers need "tune-ups" every three thousand turn ons? I got my Dell desk top three years ago, and it seems much slower, even though I have the fastest DSL AT&T offers. Any advice? I am not computer savvy enough to do anything by myself. I definetly would need a "Geek Squad" to help me.

Oh. and for all of you GW watchers. I so CANNOT watch that show! It scares the begebees out of me. Even when a preview comes on I HAVE to turn the channel! I have enough "night terrors" to begin with! I cannot for the life of me believe that you all can watch that show without being scared out of your minds!

On the other hand, I have become addicted to Family Reality shows! I NEVER thought I would.

Now "Jon & Kate + 8 is" on my DVR!There are so many old episodes on TLC, that every night after Laurie goes to bed I watch them! They are ADDICTING!!!

And I also watch the Duggar Family, you know the ones with 17 kids and another on the way! And Little People Big World.

I have WAY too much on my DVR to ever be able to catch up!

OK, I have rambled on and on about so much TEDIOUS stuff. Thank You Carol, for allowing us that opportunity!

I started this post over an hour ago! Thank Goodness it didn't go into Cyber-Land! I have been having a few Gremlins in my computer lately.

Wishing you all a happy Saturday Night, and the most Lovely Sunday!

    Peace and Love to All,
    Donna Jean and Laurie Elizabeth

  52. Evening Owls!

I finally got all of the paper work and reports done and then I have just been being lazy the rest of the day.

We had a record breaking month fed 305 households and 896 individuals. If you consider the population of our small town is between 2000 to 2500 that is alot of people! Crazy

So I am doing my gentle reminder. It is time to think about your local food banks. If you can spare a couple of cans of soup or a jar of peanut butter anything is appreciated!

We are fortunate as we have developed great relationships with many of our grocery stores between here and the next big city, but I know many food banks are struggling right now. Some have even closed in WA. This is really hard when demand is at an all time high.

Jax sending (((Hugs))) right back at ya! That was a much needed ray of sunshine today!

Ibb bummer on the small dollar turn out for your craft fair. Hope the next one will be much better!

Ok off to vegetate some more.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Carol: Fantastic blog! And, just as you inspired me to talk a little physics with your previous blog on "nothing", now you've inspired me to do a little physics piece on "something".

Owls: we, the earth, and solar system, our galaxy, and all the rest of the galaxies in the universe are all made up of "something". But what?

    Let's start with us. People.
When you come right down to it, we're quarks and electrons. Two types of quarks, actually: Up and Down. Up quarks have an positive electric charge of 2/3, and down quarks, a negative charge of 1/3. Two up quarks combine with one down quark to form a proton, with a net positive charge of 1 (2/3 + 2/3 - 1/3). Two Down quarks combine with one Up quark to form a neutron, with a net charge of 0.

Protons and neutrons bind together through a force called the strong nuclear force, forming the nucleus of an atom. Electrons bind with protons through the electromagnetic force (oppositve charges attract each other). Combinations of protons and neutrons bind with electrons to form full atoms.

Atoms bind together to form molecules, and we are collections of billions of molecules.

So are planets, stars, interstellar gas, and everything else we can see in our telescopes. Just atoms or molecules. But these exceedingly simple building blocks can combine in unbelievably complex and diverse ways, including all the life forms on our planet.

"Something" sure is something, isn't it, owls?

But wait. There's more to something than meets the eye. All of the kinds of "something" that are composed of atoms and molecules (like the earth) distort the shape of spacetime around them. We experience that distortion as gravity.

Beginning with observations of the motions of galaxies back in the 1930's, astronomers have realized that there's not nearly enough regular "atoms and molecules" kinds of something to produce the gravitational forces needed to explain those motions.

Modern observations have shown that the "something" that we are made up of is only a tiny fraction of the "something" that creates all that gravity. Since we don't know what the rest of it is yet, it's called "Dark Matter".

From the perspective of the universe, and how it evolved after the big bang, dark matter isn't just "something". It's almost... everything!

On a much happier note, Happy Birthday, Dianne!

Stay tuned! The results of the work that's going to go on in that facility, called the Large Hadron Collider, may reveal the nature of Dark Matter.

And I just realized I missed a critical piece of info from my physics post. Electrons have a charge of -1. That's why they're attracted to protons, which have a charge of +1.

  64. I hope HODI hasn't been electrocuted by one of her corncob batteries.

Dianne, happy happy birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day!!

Thank you for all the anniversary wishes!!

We had a busy day and don't feel like going out to eat, so will have SOMETHING here!

Zona that picture on the blog yesterday was gorgeous! What photographic talent you have.

DJ let me know how the Shepherds pie turns out. Did you ever find the garlic mashed potatoes at Trader Joe's?

It would be great to meet Lani and JL one of these days!

Tomorrow I will attempt to catch up on Myspaz, I will be home most of the day and can tolerate getting frozen and/or foaded off of it.

OK I have SOMETHING to do so will be back later!

I don't know much about computers, However I will say, it seems every three yrs I have to get a new one.
It should not be that way, they should last much longer, but for me they don't... and yes, after three yrs they seem to run slower...

  75. ****Attention K Mart Shoppers****

My brother is coming to my house for dinner tomorrow with his "new" Girlfriend... Oh Boy... I feel the shivers already. I tried to get out of being home, but my mom put the sad face on and I felt bad so it looks like I have to be here...

  80. Bear - As always, you amaze me with your scientific knowledge. I thought I was pretty good at science but you lost me somewhere in the middle. I will read it again tomorrow when I am more rested. Hope you are feeling better.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Carol - Good Luck tomorrow. I will be thinking of you.

  82. I had barbecue ribs and baked potato for dinner with my son and family. It was really good.

  85. Thanks for all the congrats on my weight loss. It means a lot to me.

Emily Latella (Gilda Radner) said: "It's always Something". I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gilda Radner. She was a big loss in comedy. And Ms. Emily had it right, it is always something!! :)

I am competing for a computer with my dad who loves his computer, so I won't be on long. I am going to post pics of our drive on MS. Have a great evening everyone.

Again, thanks for the Kudos. I really am happy.

Iteach: I only got 3,179 steps today because I was in the car a lot. Hope you did good on yours and that the Bday party is going well.

  86. Carol- Good luck tomorrow with your brother! My eyes popped out when I read your announcement.

    EBJ- Happy Anniversary to you!!!

  87. Dianne- Happy Birthday to you!

Lynn- Thanks for the reminder about the food banks.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Bebbi- I did not do well with food today!

I was very nervous about the party.

Then Uncle Bob ( Republican) and my dad (Democrat) started the politic conversation and I started shoving chips in my mouth like there was no tomorrow.

  92. Iteach: I understand that. My sister stopped at Taco Bell today and my nephew was a typical teenager in the car, but I refrained (thank gawd) from losing myself to Taco Bell!

Stress eating is a big problem for me too.

  93. Good Night Bebbi, Carol, Iteach and anyone else left in the nest tonight. See you all tomorrow. I am going to choose a movie and settle down for the night.

  94. I just got home. We went to Greek Fest. I had the Suflaki with orzo, Greek salad, garlic potatoes and pita bread. When my stomach settles down then I am going back tomorrow for Baklava and Tiramisu.
    DonnaJean.....
Are you emptying your temporary files once a week and running your Spyware to delete the cookies? The more programs and files you download then the slower your computer will run.
Nite everyone. Bedtime for me and the pooch and my tummy. I bet I won't sleep. I still feel way too full.

  95. Tinka Congrats on your marches today. You must be as tired as I am. LOL

Good night, Hooters! I'm going to try to go to bed earlier than I usually do.
