There is a meaning~~

so where does the time go
if you stop and think does it
come back, can you remember?

a friend, old charmer in my life
reappears at my door, sometime
last year, we reconnect, we begin
the friendship again, the charm
returns, the memories flood back,
the feelings renewed, once more
to move on again, let it go, be still

yesterday, reappears again, my face
his smile, to close, laughter, hugs

he just called, let it ring,
one more call, let it ring, phone off

all to familiar for me, to much hurt
way to close, must push away, to much
to come along, to much to stand in
the way, never not just me

been there, done that, can't do it again
must move on, must bury deep, remember
the years, let them go by, it is today,
yesterday a memory, be still
once more, when and if it can be me

there is a reason, the hurt, questions
raised, why, no answer, it is as it
should be, deep in the heart, it hides,
to be there forever more

  6. Morning Mo had to go get some coffee.

Sounds like we are all on the same page. Sometimes it is fun to revisit the past but if it is interfereing with the present and causes turmoil maybe it needs to be laid down and let go.

    Scirich ..congrats on 1st...

    Hey LynnD... Mo...

Carol... Sorry you are hurting ... but I agree... sometimes the past just needs to stay in the past...
2 weeks ago I took an old Photo album in to work.. had pictures of me and my first love... ( He totally crushed my heart)..( took it out slammed it on the floor and then stomped on it a few times).. I.m sure you get the picture...

Well he just happened to come in while we were looking at the pictures... and he got all excited to see them.. and then started looking at the pictjres of He and I together.. and started saying things like... Oh .. I remeber that picture... I sure would like some copies of these ...
I was like WTF!!! Get away from me... but of course it stirred old feelings...
then I felt guilty when i got home ... That I had been going down memory lane with HIM...
But then I remebered... I walked out of there to come home to my Hubby and furbabies... and he can't take that away from me...

    Carol...{{{{HUGS}}}}}

hope everyone has a great day!!!

  12. Oh, I can think of several men I should have left in the past. They always seemed to worm themselves back into my life when I was having a weak moment.
I always gave them second try and I was hurt again.

Sorry Carol, been down that road it sucks.

I have an old girlfriend who was understandably devastated when I confessed that I was gay and in love with my office mate at the time! We broke up several months later.

24 years later, I'm still sending her Christmas cards, even though she never sends one in return.

Your blog today is making me wonder if I should just stop, that they just remind her of past heartache and pain.

MEK: Did you mean Michelangelo's David? LOL!

Waving cheerily at scrishy, Lynn D, IBB, EBJ, Jodi, and iteach!

  32. scirish Congrats on #1!

MO Oh, thank you for the wonderful breakfast spread. I can smell the bacon cooking! Yum! I'll have scrambled eggs and crispy bacon, some wheat toast and coffee, please. :)

Carol Your beautiful poem really touched my heart. It is so difficult to do what you know in your mind you need to do but your heart pulls you in the opposite direction. I know how much it hurts. As it turns out, Custard and I are having a hard time really saying goodbye. We are trying to take a step back while he works on all the stressful things going on in his life right now. It seems our hearts do not want to say goodbye even though it is such a struggle to keep the relationship going. Who knows what tomorrow might bring? (((HUGS)))

Bear If she never sends you a card in return, I think it is time for you to let it go, too.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Mary Don't you love when you have more time to procrastinate? LOL

  35. Dear Carol - Your poetry is a lovely path to finding a painful answer. Our best answers come when we listen to our higher selves, and leave the rest to memories of the heart. xoxox Lani

Carol, it's hard to move on sometimes--I'm guessing most all of us have been there. I love how you wrote about it! Big hugs to you.

    IBB, is your back better??

I think it's nap time for me. I've been out in the sunshine all day at lacrosse games--why is it that wears you out? Oh, my son's team lost. :( He played well, though.

  44. Tinka,
I am so happy to see you.. and so glad Tia is home...

My Lhaso had colitis, we almost lost her as a puppy, we had to take her to the Animal Hospital in NYC, as all the hospitals in NJ told us they could not help her. She was so listless, and her poo was runny with lots of blood.. The animal hospital in NYC told us she had colitis and would the rest of her life. They gave us antibotics(sp) and told us to feed her cottage cheese with lima beans for a couple of months and only that, no dog treats, no dog food, no table food, we did as they said and little my little she started getting better. We kept her on the diet they told us to and she lived 18yrs.. After several yrs we did give her some dog treats, and some table food, mostly macaroni. But always till she went to the rainbow bridge, we gave her, her cottage cheese..
She was a terrific pet, and we miss her daily...

Ask the vet about it, or just try it, I don't think it can hurt..

If you have any other questions, I am here..

  45. I got no more phone calls today or txt's, I am thankful for that, I am fine, he just walked in my office yesterday out of the blue, and it set me back.. So last nite as the txt msgs were coming in and the phone was ringing, I was writing todays blog.. I always say whats on my mind will be in the written word.

The funny part is many yrs ago, I broke his heart, as I walked away, I was young and not ready to settle down as he was. He now has a family, and not very happy.
He told me yesterday, he thinks of me daily.. So many yrs have gone by, you just have to wonder.
But as they say, everything happens for a reason, so this shall be as is..

Thanks for all the comments, and all the love..

  49. Hello Hooters!!

    Congrats on 1st scrishy!!

I had a great date night last night with Mr. Goldie. It was like a 1st date. He planned it all, ordered for me when I said what I wanted, held doors and etc, etc, Can I just say purrrrrrrrrrrr. :)

Ok, FINALLY went to the Dr. today after Jodi called and threatened me (so did Inga Binga and Mr. Goldie) they did a D Dimer blood test, which supposedly was neg. so no blood clots. They believe it is an injured tendon and I have an ace bandage on, ice, 800mg. ibuprofen 3x a day for 5 days. Of course ice, elevation and not too much activity on it.

So, I promptly left the urgent care center and went shopping at Macy's!! Great sale, I got 3 pairs of pants that fit (I need a 34 inseam, so thats not so easy to do). Now here I sit with a cocktail an my foot wrapped up in ice.

Carol- (hugs) sorry you are hurting. I'm glad you have this nest to let it and talk about it. Sometimes that helps.

  95. Hey hooters!

Carol I love the pic you have on the blog today, the girl standing on the road holding a heart.

You always find the perfect pictures to match the topics...

The only person from the past that I always thought I would end up with again someday, died the year before last. So that was that.

I just heard from his sister today which was kind of wierd, considering the topic. Just out of the blue.

MEK thank you for asking, Paula seems to feel very good!

And I have to tell you that our LANI sent Paula the most beautiful, hand-made get well card! MR. EBJ was so impressed and very touched by the thoughtfulness.

She put a picture of Paula on the front and then a get well message inside. It is precious to us!

THANK YOU LANI!! xoxo from the kittycat princess! :)

Geez MEK a caddie telling you to be quiet! Did you tell him to kiss your ass? LOL

I don't follow golf at all, but I remember that VJ Sinhg guy made a rude comment a year or so ago about a woman golfer. It was something like she shouldn't be allowed to play with the men.

I thought he was an asshole then, and now I still do since he has an asshole caddie! haha!

If you happen to get a chance to talk to him, call him vajayjay instead of VJ!!! Or you could just say V-jayjay.

We have had zero girl scouts come by this year. Last year we had several.

Today we did have a teenage girl selling books and magazine subscriptions.

MR. EBJ told her no, as we got scammed the last time we spent $40 on some books. They never arrived!

We found out that scammers drop kids off in neighborhoods, and then they give you a story like they are trying to sell books/mags to get points for a trip to Europe.

We are expecting a storm tomorrow, today was beautiful and warm. Strange weather.
