This Night Owl Blog has given so much! It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"! We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly. And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :) It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!

Winter, Spring, Forward
So we have reached the middle of February and I truly have the winter blues. I am feeling fine, its just this weather that gives me this docile feeling. I kinda just want to veg, and keep to myself. I know when spring arrives my body will move, and I will look around as if I have never seen things, that of course I have. Its a renewed feeling that spring gives me. I have always lived my life according to the season, I guess that comes from living in NJ, where our seasons are true to what they should be.
I have been watching/reading the news to much, which I contribute to my veg state. I saw that NY Post Chimp Cartoon, I was not crazy about the satire of it, however I shrugged it off. I then read on CNN that Al Sharpton got involved and is considering it racist. He is asking that the NY Post apologize for the satire. The NY post is not having any of it, and will not apologize, they did release a statement tho, stating something to the like that it was a parody on the stimulus bill. I for one dislike Al Sharpton
immensely, he always puts himself in these situations and is forever calling the race card. Since I am from NJ and he is a New Yorker, I see alot of him in our local news, and I am so tired of his antics. Whenever something he thinks is racists he has to bring it to the forefront. I remember many years ago, he became a mentor to a young African American girl, who stated she was raped by white men. As time went on and the date was set to go to court, the girl admitted she lied about the whole ordeal. Al Sharpton never apologized for his actions in defending her, he never stood at the podium that he so loves to do, to tell the world that he was wrong, he just dropped out of sight. He still parades around NY with 10 or more people around him trying to direct the world. I have seen many a parody on other political events and no one said a word. What gets my goat the most is, America has changed, a change that he so wanted, yet he keeps going back. Damn him, shouldn't someone tell him its all about going forward.
Al Sharpton, get over yourself.
When spring comes I won't be watching/reading the news so much, I will be out and about, living this life that was given to me. I will continue to go forward with the Spring Season, because I have no use for looking back, forward is definitely the way to go.
Don't ya think?
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteCarol interesting blog. I have had the winter blues also. Tho I have come to the conclusion alot of mine have to do with hormones or lack there of because of menopause. What I can do about this I don't know yet.
As far as the political cartoon I beg to differ. I saw it also and it is racist and was intended to be. The stimulus and the Chimpanzee that was shot have nothing what so ever to do with each other. To imply the person or people who wrote the stimulus should be shot or are animals of any sort is wrong and violent. What many did not mention was the page before the editorial and cartoon had a picture of our President signing the stimulus. Seems pretty evident to me they were tying the two together.
As many of you know I have a black son in law and we had a discussion about the cartoon. For many generations blacks have been portrayed as monkeys, chimps, gorillas etc... This cartoon is wrong in so many ways.
I personally rarely agree with Al Sharpton as I feel that he has used the media to benefit himself to many times, but on this one he was right and the post deserves the outrage they are seeing from the American public IMHO.
Whether they apologize or not the damage has been done. I want to look forward also but there are people like the cartoonist who will keep dragging us back. It is very sad and will keep tearing the fabric of our society if we let them get away with it.
Just my thoughts today.
Hi LynnD! Congrats on first! And, thanks again for thinking of me yesterday. Are you feeling better?
ReplyDeleteCarol, right on! I don't think people like Sharpton realize that when you are constantly blabbing on about EVERY little thing, people stop listening.
With that said, I guess I'd better be quiet now. :)
I actually have not seen the cartoon--I guess I should do that before I blab on ...
ReplyDeleteJust looked up the cartoon--it's so inappropriate. Why would you use a chimp when referring to O'Bama when you KNOW its connotation?
ReplyDeleteI still think Al Sharpton talks too much about too much, but I have to agree with Lynn that in this case, he's right to speak out. (I still think he's super annoying, Carol.)
It reminds me of the use of the Confederate flag in southern states. When its connotation is slavery, why on earth would you wave it around? In my opinion it's just to wave your prejudices.

ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!!
ReplyDeleteLynn - congrats on FIRST...
Sandie - good morning..
I am going to read the blog now..
HOpe everyone has an excellent day!!
:-)
TEN
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Hooters!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1st Lynn and I agree with you in respect to the cartoon. I was appalled by it, and I also agree that for once Sharpton was right. How this differs from the outcry when Howard Cosell said "look at that monkey run" or whatever during a broadcast I do not know.
Racism and Homophobia should not be tolerated in any manner.
That said, I can't stand Sharpton, Faraakan or Jessie Jackson spouting about things when they just want to hear themselves.
I was once on a plane with Karaakan, what a ass. He travels with 'bodyguards' (thugs) and feels entitlement. He made a scene in the airport and had his 'people' keep everyone away from him. We all groaned and some protested when he was on our flight. His thug told me I was getting to close to him (I was going to the counter to talk about my boarding pass). I told his thug to tell him to 'get over himself, I have no interest in getting anywhere near him".
Ok, Hooters- Have a great day!!!
cpgem - I also am looking forward to spring!!
ReplyDeleteGoldie - good morning...
Morning Sandie! I worry about all of the owls! LOL
ReplyDeleteGoldie did you see the doc yet??? I also agree any kind of racism or homophobia should be called out. Oh good lord about Farrakan on your plane. Yuck never agree with him either. There is a difference in standing up and saying no more and using issues to further an angry and wrong agenda.
Morning MEK is Tug up and running you ragged already this morning?
Need to hit the coffee one more time and then the laundry awaits :(
Wow! Interesting blog and counter-opinions this morning!
ReplyDeleteLynn D, Carol, and Goldie: I find myself somewhere right smack in the middle of you on this topic. On the one hand, I agree with Carol that forward is better, and dwelling on the past can be counterproductive. For example, I don't believe there should be an effort to compensate present-generation African Americans for slavery-related damages.
On the other hand, the past is ever with us, and as a gay man, I experience first-hand the continual threat that "old-fashioned" forms of bigotry and prejudice presents.
Case in point: OMG! I just found out this week that 65% of Californians voted for a very controversial and divisive 1964 proposition that gave property owners the right to refuse to sell their property to racial minorities.
The proposition was later struck down as unconstitutional by the US Supreme Court.
Is this ringing a a very modern bell with anybody? I thought it would!
So, to attempt a synthesis of the various opinions expressed this morning: I believe wholeheartedly in focusing on the road ahead, striving to create a future free of prejudice and bigotry of all kinds. But at the same time, I believe in in making frequent glances in the rear-view mirror. Ignorance of history really does make us more susceptible to repeating it!
Hi to lynn and MEK, Sandie and Bear!
ReplyDeleteGoing this afternoon Lynn- Mr. Goldie is making me...;(
I think it is a waste of time and money as I believe it to be a strained ligament. They are going to tell me to ice and elevate which I am already doing and it will cost me another small fortune!
Mr Goldie is taking me out on 'date' tonight. We are going to our Favorite resturaunt and then ??
I'm excited and going to get dressed up for the occasion. I hope crutches are NOT a part of my outfit!
In regard to Faraakan (sp?) there were a lot of people who didn't like the fact he was on the plane. He apparently has a lot of death threats and it was a bit of concern that he was on OUR plane.
It was on a trip to DC too.
JODI- my mom loves you too! She thinks you are so sweet and such a nice girl.
ok, now I really have to go to work.
Give Tug a hug from me Mek- One for you too! Miss Pepper celebrated her 5th birthday yesterday and I marvel at how much puppy is still left in her.
HI Carol- I forgot to comment that I enjoyed your blog!!!!
ReplyDeleteI find the cartoon to be extremely upsetting. There isn't anything funny about a woman being torn apart, a chimp being shot to death or the situation our country is in at present.
ReplyDeleteThe cartoon is blatantly racist. It isn't just in poor taste, it is using a tragic situation to show violence toward Pres Obama. This does not represent the past, it represents the thinking of too many right now in the present.
It is definitely racist, and too many black men and women have been murdered for real in my lifetime.
Many gay men and women also have been called viol names and murdered. The old expression: sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never hurt me is wrong....names do hurt very much. I grew up in the Bay Area and have seen it many times.
Have not seen the cartoon so I will comment later after I find it.
ReplyDeleteIn regard to the winter blues.... I obviously don't have that problem here, but when I went back to Chicago for the holidays it was so obvious that I am a sun person....I need it in my life like I need air. Being trapped in the house because of sub zero temps and having to wear layer upon layer just doesn't agree with me. If I ever have to move back to a cold part of the mainland it will probably damage my soul.
Oh and before I forget.....the spoiler thing. I am so far behind you all that it doesn't make sense for you all to wait for me just to discuss it. I can understand waiting for the west coasters but I am an additional 2-3 hours behind them. So you have my permission to speak away after Idol, Bachelor, and all those other programs. Cause to tell you all the truth I can tell the results by your code...lol. If I do not want to know I will just stay away from the blog, or skip over someones post.
TGIF Hooters....
Hope Bear and Huz, iteach and any others who have recently lost loved ones revel in the happy memories of those lost~
LYNN D & GOLDIE - Well said....I totally agree with you both!!
ReplyDeleteCAROL - I also tend to suffer from the winter blues. Although, my spirit is ever hopeful now that the days are getting "longer"!!!
GOLDIE - I'm glad that the MR. is making you go to the doc....:O) Better safe than sorry!!! And please give PEPPER a birthday belly rub from me!!!
TURTLE - I'm so thankful that you ventured to our "frozen tundra" over the holidays!!! Hopefully next time it will be in the summer, or better yet maybe I'll be able to visit you in paradise!!! Did I see you referring to me in area 51? The PHONEHO overslept.....thankfully I live aBOOT 5 blocks from the store, so I made it to work on time. :O)
Waving a wing @ SANDIE, SLANI & WABBY!!!
LynnD Congrats on #1!!!!
ReplyDeleteCarol Your blog today seems to have two parts to it. I don't live where it snows but I think it would be a major pain in the butt at times. But then it probably makes spring even more special and enjoyable. I enjoy it here when it rains, although not when it is too windy, causing tree branches and fencing to come down.
As for the cartoon, I thought it was very offensive. I am tired of Al Sharpton pontificating all the time but he is right about this issue, IMHO. To me, the bigotry and insult of the cartoon is as clear as black and white. It's the type of image you would find in a white supremist pamphlet.
Every since yesterday's video, it's been taking my computer forever to get into the comment section of the blog. Is anyone else having that trouble?
TINKA - Sending healing thoughts and a gentle (((HUG))) to you. Missing your little brown owl. What is wrong with TIA?
ReplyDeleteWaving @ JUST SLIN with a big toothy grin!!! :O)
ReplyDeleteTime for a power nap....I will BBL!!
ReplyDelete24
ReplyDelete25!!! For TINKA!!
ReplyDeleteCarol, I can so relate to your winter blahs! I need to see the sun or I get gloomy. I love the spring and all the rebirth it brings.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen the cartoon so I don't feel like I can comment on it.
I have no use for ambulance chasers like Sharpton. They (chasers) come in all colors, nationalities, etc.
The problem I have is with the intensity of some people who complain. I have seen so many irreverent cartoons of past political figures that I tend not to let them get to me. I know what I stand for and know they cannot sway my ideals by their presence.
Peac,& Love..have a great day everyone! I will be busy from now until I get on that airplane Sunday for a week of SUNSHINE!
"peace" can't believe spell check let me get away with that lol!
ReplyDeleteI just saw that I got QOTD -
ReplyDeletethank you!!!
Tug is being a complete angel today!! (knock on wood)......
taking her to get her second shot..
waving howdy to everyone...
Good Day To All
ReplyDeleteGOLDIE, A happy birthday hug to Pepper.
MEK, Didn't we tell you yesterday that TUG is an angel? Who won the wrestling match?
HODI, I hope you aren't wiped out from being sick and giving blood.
EUNICE, I hope you are enjoying your Evening in Paris perfume.
SANDIE, Great analogy with the confederate flag.
LYNN, Sending you some California sun. :)
BEAR & ITEACH, I hope you are finding some comfort during this sad time.
GOLDIE, I am hoping your ankle is on the mend, and good news will come from the doctor.
K-girl, I have always heard that there is supposed to be great healing energy on the Islands.
TINA & CAROL, I hope you are having a pleasant day at work.
MARY, Peace and love to you also & have a wonderful week.
TIA has a bloody discharge coming from her rectum. TINK, of course, is quite worried and trying to heal from her cold. HUGS to them both
Holy Hannah where is everyone today? Missing you all.
ReplyDeleteOk, so I put a brace that I had already from a previous injury (go figure) on and Mr. goldie was happy about that. He didn't make me go to the Dr. yet. I wore it all afternoon and now it hurts worse then before!!!! So the long and the short of is that i have agreed to go in the morning. Even I can't explain this one away. Yikes. Shit. and Damn.
But- the good news is that I bought something new at Victoria Secret today ;) and we are going out to dinner at 6:00 (cocktails first - for me - Mr. Goldie doesn't drink) then a leisurely dinner at 6:45 then ????
But I guarantee that I WON't Be back after that........:)
I'll fill you in tomorrow on what the dr. says.
Have a good night Hooters-I have to go get gussied up!
GOLDIE!!! I hope you didn't forget your tassles. :O) Have fun tonight!!!
ReplyDeleteMARY - Just rub it in...lol!!! We're supposed to get up to 5 inches of snow by morning. Just consider it my going away gift!! lol!!
LANI - Thanks for the update on TIA. Sounds like what happened to our Dakota...she ended up having to get "fixed".
Hello, Hooters. I've been out and about for a while. I had a craving for Chinese food so for lunch I went out for a cup of sweet and sour soup and some chicken and asparagus in a garlic sauce over steamed rice. Yummy! It relly hit the spot!
ReplyDeleteGoldie I hope you have a wonderful time tonight and am happy you will finally get your foot looked at tomorrow.
Jodi Tia's discharge is from her rectum not her va-jay-jay!
For any lurkers who do not know us, Tia is a dog! LMAO!!!!!
Where is everyone? Do you all have a hot date tonight? I have a hot date to get my nails done in half an hour, that's about it. :(
ReplyDeleteJ/L I have a hot date with the grocery store tonight. :0
ReplyDeleteI also did not like the cartoon either, I found it to be racist too.
As far as that Al, I don't listen. He scares me, but that is just me.
Jodi, we are suppose to get a lot of snow too.
ReplyDeleteIt was so nice to see it gone for a while.
Just Lin - too funny!!
ReplyDeleteI just got back from taking "the little one" for her second shot series.........
No hot date here - Mr. MEK is cleaning out my car - the little one had a MASSIVE accident in the car - then - it got all over me - and I will spare the nasty details.
anyway - she is now 11.8 pounds and is doing VERY well - took the shot great - had her little nails clipped -
I am going to have an adult beverage!!!
:-)
MEK You deserve an adult beverage! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteGoldie - happy b-day to Pepper !!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the hug - you don't know HOW badly I needed that!!
Lani - OH - what can i say!! (oh - and Mr. MEK won the match)
Lynn D - Tug was actually very calm and GOOD today...... she is trying to eat the house though - she has a thing for the stucco..
K'girl - thanks for the heads up that it's okay for us to "talk"!! I must admit - sometimes I DO like a spoiler!! Depends on the show and what phase it's in...
:-)
Jodi - hope you got your nap - I missed mine today..
Goldie - enjoy your date... I can't imagine WHY you won't be back tonight!! LOL
mary - well said...
as I have NOT seen the cartoon either and will not go looking for it...
Iteach - have fun grocery shopping..
Just Lin - thanks!!
ReplyDelete:-)
MEK how big will she get when she is done growing?
ReplyDelete40
ReplyDeleteSorry MEK! I didn't mean to do your 40 in fact I'm trying hard not to think about 40.
ReplyDeleteOkay, off to my nail appointment. I may not be able to stand the excitement. ;)
ReplyDeleteJ/L please report back what color you pick. That is my favorite part of getting nails done.
ReplyDeleteIteach - today, I took her to our vet (as opposed to the free check place).. i was told probably 50-55 pounds...
ReplyDelete(the free place told me 30 lbs - which I KNEW was NOT correct)..
everyone LOVED her.... and the staff even had more tears for Barney - they are SO caring there!!
Dr. Mike said - TAKE LOTS OF PICS - they grow up SO fast..
i told him - that was NOT a problem for me!! LOL
(thought SacBarb would enjoy that!!)
It has been a long time since I have had mine done. When I do get it done I go to the Beauty School.
ReplyDeleteIteach - don't worry about it.. it's the fun in the march!!!
ReplyDeleteJust Lin - I agree - let us know what color you pick..
48
ReplyDelete49
ReplyDelete50
ReplyDeleteOH - Socks the cat has died....
ReplyDeleteMEK that sounds like a nice size dog. :)
ReplyDeleteSocks had to be old! How old was she/he?
ReplyDeleteI'll bbl.......
ReplyDeleteDang,is there something in the air today? I went to town and encountered, road rage, and a very rude young lady! I was paying for my gas today and bought $5 worth of Mega Million tickets. Some young gal came strutting in stood in a 2 person line(one was me) and decided she didn't want to wait. She shoved me aside, slapped her money on the counter and said, "Here is my money, I don't have all day!" I looked at her as she was leaving and said not a nice word to her. She looked like eh?, what did I do? By then I was already done and out the door behind her. She disappeared real fast lol!
ReplyDeleteJodi, we are supposed to get that nasty stuff late tonight. I will try to return the favor. I am going to blow it back your way!lol
Dinner is over, dishes done, time to do some last minute ironing....
ITEACH I hope your family is healing from the passing of so many.
ReplyDeleteSocks was 19 years old
Mek Did you whine to the veterinarian about how TUG tried to kill you so you could get a dog bone for yourself on the way out? :)
Mary - don't you hate when someone thinks that your time doesn't matter!! the nerve..
ReplyDeleteLani - the vet SAW my injuries - cuz I got two more on the way TOO the vet..... and - come to think of it - we usually do get a doggy treat - but not today !!! maybe we'll squeeze two out of them next time - or maybe they had to cut that out of the budget!! it's okay!!
Iteach - i agree - i think that will be the perfect size - not too big and not too small!!
Mr. MEK just came in from cleaning my car....... he said - "After that, I need a drink!!!".
ReplyDeletei just had to chuckle.... I said - it was pretty nasty, wasn't it - he said. "worse than nasty"!
LMAO!!!! poor guy!!!
:-)
LynnD~ congrats on first~
ReplyDeleteKgrl~ don't make fun of my phone skills~ :)~
Goldie~ I can't imagine why you won't be back tonight....and btw....i'm more interested about the details from tonight than what the doc says tomorrow~ ijs~ :D
Tink~ I hope you are well soon and Tia is out of the hospital soon~
Mary~ for a second there....I thought you were getting a piece~ :)~
Lani~ Eunice put on too much of that perfume and I had to give her a bath~ p.s. I don't work on Fridays.....except for next friday~
Di_the_movie_goer_in_Denver~ I went to see He's Just Not Into You this afternoon...you were right...it was cute and funny~ Ben made me cry a little~
Carol~ I was so blah at the end of December/early January...took me a while to get out of that funk~ I think I need sun in January....my trips to AZ and CA really helped~ As for the cartoon....I had not seen it, but thought there was no way it was racist. I, for one, had no idea until recently (October) what the monkey even meant....but then I saw it.....I know only the cartoonist knows for sure, but it did seem so. On the flip side, he could have been calling the whole of Congress a bunch of monkeys~ How many times have we seen President Bush portrayed as a monkey.....and everyone laughs~ I didn't think that was funny at all~ I guess we'll never know~
damn....Eunice is a little talkative tonight~ yikes~
ReplyDeletekgrl~ I agree.....the non-spoilers are really spoilers~ When I lived on another blog, even when they didn't say who won the nascar race, I could tell by what they did say, who one and who crashed.....i stopped reading on race day and now on reality show night since I tape everything.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh....Bebbi....I keep forgetting to tell you...when I hear that song, 1-2-3-4 on the radio, I think of you....heard it on my way to the craft store today~ :D
ReplyDeletewaiting in the weeds
ReplyDeletewhere the hell is TINA?!!?
ReplyDeletesashay
ReplyDeleteleft, left, left, right, left!!!
ReplyDeletetwo snaps up
ReplyDeletewith a twist!!!
ReplyDelete69
ReplyDelete69!!!
ReplyDeleteahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh~
ReplyDeleteFreakin' whore!!!
ReplyDeleteLMAO~ I was taking a craft survey....and I thought....i better check the blog~ lq~
ReplyDeletejk.....congrats on 69 TINA!!! I'm bowing to the master. :P
ReplyDeleteEUNICE - Love your fascinator!!
ReplyDeleteomg....i thought you said you were blowing the master! lol~
ReplyDeleteTINA - That would be later!!! :P
ReplyDeleteGood evening feathered friends!
ReplyDeleteLYNN...grats again! Are you feeling better? I sure hope so.
GOLDIE...I guess after your date, you will be off your bad ankle!! Woo Hoo!!
I have a date tonight too...with a box of Girl Scout cookies!!!
CAROL...I am SOOOOOOO over winter. I miss the sunshine, the warmth, the life. We are expecting snow again tomorrow...I am gonna stay under the blankies all day if it does!
As far as the cartoon, I didn't see it so I have no right to comment on it. I do, however have an opinion on the "reverend" Sharpton. I think he is a two faced, ignorant, vengeful, selfish a-hole. He preaches against racism (which SHOULD be preached against) but then has no qualms about spewing anti-semitism. And then can never be a man and apologize. He is more harmful then helpful...IMHO.
SHIRLEY...How did week 2 go? Did you have another snow day today?
HODI...enjoy your weekend off! But don't forget to leave us some glazers!
TINA...you are still so pretty!
JUST LIN...did you check today to see if BIRDEEEEE left you a present last night when she flew into your window? LOL! And what color are your nails?!
TINK...hope you feel better soon. And hoping Tia is well, too. Tango must miss her, too.
My Trefoils are calling me...bbl!
LMAO~ thanks for the laugh Hodi~ I'm off to my daughter's basketball game~
ReplyDeletebbl, ronnie~
Flying through! Mr. Lynn D and I went out to an early dinner and I am stuffed and sleepy.
ReplyDeleteMEK Plastic Poncho just sayin.
Mary the nerve of people. I am so moody right now she would have been lucky if she had made it out the door. I am so over rude people.
I have to say the last two times I stopped to get gas I actually had two men open and hold the door for me. Go figure. Still some polite people left.
TINA I didn't realize you are off on Fridays.
ReplyDelete"I had to give her a bath" As usual you & EUNICE have me laughing.
I still think we should have a Roast for EUNICE.
I think maybe EUNICE is so talkative because she has probably been hitting the sauce.
Where is BEBBI?
LYNN...plastic poncho??? I am thinking MEK needs a head to toe hazmat suit!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMOHO!!! I may have to leave cake donuts instead. They're on special this weekend 4/$1.00!!!
ReplyDeleteHODI...cake donuts work! Ummm, are they chocolate cake donuts? Or chocolate frosted cake donuts? LOL!!
ReplyDeleteCAROL...I noticed your MS avatar...is the umbrella to protect your head from BIRDEEE's droppings? LOL!!
ReplyDeleteMOHO - Chocolate frosted cake donuts!! We also have white frosting and maple frosting on regular cake donuts. And our seasonal flavors are cherry chip and blueberry!!! Take your pick!!!
ReplyDeleteHate to disappoint, but I don't have color put on my nails. I get acrylic nails painted on with white tips. My real nails are weak and break easily. I'm not good with having my nails colored as I start chipping them within 24 hours. I like having my nails done this way as they are very strong and I don't have to worry about the color.
ReplyDeleteI'll have one of each...I am a piggy afterall, dontcha know!!
ReplyDelete***jumping up and down****
ReplyDeleteJodi I want a chocolate frosted donut!!! Please, please, please!!!!!
JUST LIN...I like french manicures. I too chip at my polish, but a french mani seems to last longer. I haven't had a mani in years and acylics since I lived in L.A...15 years ago. Damn, I've been back in Cleveland 15 years!!
ReplyDeleteJUST SLIN - Would you like some chocolate milk, too?
ReplyDeleteGroceries was fun. Yes, I love grocery shopping. I talk to myself the whole time. I always go at night when it is not busy. I feel like I have the store to myself.
ReplyDeleteI never go on a Sat. morning, I feel like I can't breathe.
Mo- Which box of Girl Scout cookies are you dating tonight?
ReplyDeleteHi Everyone!...

ReplyDeleteITEACH...tonight I am dating the Trefoils! I have a sleeve (ok, 1/2 sleeve) of thin mints in my drawer at work for a little afternoon delight on Monday! After I see my cousin next week, I will be on a double date with some of those coconut cookies and the new caramel cookies! I AM a ho!
ReplyDeleteI am glad the girl cousin hit me up before her brother did for the boy scout popcorn!
The thin mints were a thank you from a co-worker, as I stayed after I had already clocked out to help her finish her work.

ReplyDeleteTina - I never thought that was funny either!!!
ReplyDeleteJodi - LOVE chocolate cake donuts with chocolate icing...
MEK Thin Mints are my favorite, too. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! I have another week to wait for my GS cookies~ I feel like slutting it up in Ohio or Arizona just to get some tonight~
ReplyDeleteSo my daughter's basketball game was so so good. They lost in overtime, but WOW....it was such a good game~ It's her last one......unless she makes the High School team next year~ sad.....but on the bright side....if they had won, it would have ruined my movie plans for tomorrow~ Now I get to go~ :)~
ReplyDelete....one more time: Mother of the Year~ :D
Tina You can be a great mother and still want to go to your movie. :)
ReplyDeleteIroning and half of my packing is done. Time for this cranky old owl to hit the hay.
ReplyDeleteMEK,POOP.POOP.POOP.POOP LOL!!

Tina!!!! buenas noches, or is that nachos lol!!
ReplyDeleteSweet dreams, Mary, and all other Owls. Geez, it is on a little after 10 and I am yawning! What happened to me? I turned around and before I knew it, I got old. :(
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday Owls. It has been a busy day for me and now I am about to head to bed. I want to comment on Carol's blog before I go.
ReplyDeleteI get the winter blahs, too, even though we don't have the cold and bad weather that a lot of you have. I sometimes have a hard time getting myself out of it.
As for the cartoon, I saw it when they discussed it on the view. They also mentioned, as LynnD did, about the pic of Pres Obama signing the stimulus bill on the previous page and the inference it made. I never really liked political satire, but this one is especially distasteful and, IMO, racist. I don't believe you can say/write anything you want as long as you call it satire or comedy.
Waving wildly at all the Owls. I hope everyone had a good day.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry for those who are experiencing difficult times and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
J/L, MEK & MO, I am a BIG fan of the Thin Mints and they are excellent frozen too. I have already devoured one box in the last week. I have two more in my freezer. shhhh, don't tell Jenny Craig.
Good night all. zzzzzzzzz
