I had a chance to see New In Town over the weekend. It was a cute chick flick/feel good movie. One of the things I liked the best about it was the accents of the characters. At work, I get to speak to people from all over the country and all over the world. I hear every kind of accent there is. I can usually tell after the first few sentences, where a person is from. I love to hear different accents and colloquialisms. I am hard of hearing so I close my eyes to make sure I don't have any distractions and I visualize what people are saying. I've done this for so long, that I now find myself talking to people using THEIR accent.
I am very good at sounding like I'm from Texas. I'm even better at sounding like I'm from India. I can pronounce almost any city in India just like a local. My favourite is Calcutta. I can't explain how to say it, but it's cool. I talk to a lot of people in our Dallas office and have learned a lot from them. It isn't just all about the y'all's.....although I love that. There is the long drawn out Thaaaaaannnnnkkkkk Yoooooouuuuuuuu~ Followed of course by the long drawn out Fuuuuuuuuucckkkkkk Yoooooooouuuuuuuu! (I didn't hear that from anyone in the Dallas office....I'm just sayin'~)
I talked to a passenger from Florida the other day and I could have sworn she was from New York. She had a slight New York accent. I asked her where she was from and she said Amsterdam. I was baffled. I know that they learn English at an early age there, but she really sounded like she had at least lived in New York. It turns out, when she was in her teens, her family did move to New York and she didn't move to Florida until she was in her 20's. I knew it!
Jodi is one of my favourite people to talk to, not only because she's such a hoot, but also because of the fun ways she pronounces words. I have so much fun with her. "We talk aboot almost anything, even the cooch in the living room!" That's one of our jokes. It makes me wonder if I have an accent or if I sound different to others. Do you think you have an accent?

first?
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Everyone!
ReplyDeleteHey Sandie! How ya doing?
ReplyDeleteHey, Birdee!! Are you still cold?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1st.
ReplyDeleteHell YES!! I'm getting snow again, like MO.
ReplyDeleteIt's only in the teen's here.
ReplyDeleteI'm soooooo over this crap.
Tina, funny blog. I love accents, too. I feel like I stand out down here in Georgia since I don't have the southern drawl. It's funny to hear my kids, though! They haven't so much picked up the accent as the sayings. It's pretty funny to see little Korean Aubree saying, "ya'll" and "fixin' to."
ReplyDeleteI'll bet you are, Birdee! Hey, want to come visit GA? It's sunny and cool today--around 60.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet you are, Birdee! Hey, want to come visit GA? It's sunny and cool today--around 60.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's a double invitation! LOL
ReplyDeleteTinaTuna, I haven't seen this movie yet. Some people think I have an accent. I sometime's catch myself sounding more southern when I'm ticked off.
ReplyDeleteWe were At Disney, in Florida years ago and a guy heard me talking and asked if we were from Indiana. He said he could tell by our accent! That was news to me....never thought we had one!
Sandie, that sound's real good. If I had a car, I'd be on my way....or at least on my way to the airport!
ReplyDeleteIt may be just as well today--it's also super windy and your little tail feathers might just fly right off!
ReplyDeleteI have to run--have a great day, Birdee!
Hello to everyone on their morning commute to the nest!
Hi Sandi & Birdee!!
ReplyDeleteIt is fricken freezing here in Mich. The temps aren't the prob as much as the wind! I felt nekkid walking out to get the paper!
I have an appt. with my Ophthalmologist this morning or I would still be in La La land!
Tina, yes you have an ax-cent lol!
Mr Mary's family are Finnish & most live in the Upper Peninsula I love to here them talk with their "yahs","you betchas",&
"lets go sauna" with the accent on "au" in sauna.
I have a sister in Texas,Georgia & Ohio. There doesn't seem to be a heavy "Ohioian" accent that I notice.
I better "git-on-outta-here, ya'll"
or you betcha I will be fixin to be late lol!!
BBL
Happy Thursday!!!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning......
Sandie - congrats on FIRST..
Birdee - sorry you are getting snow again...... right now - it is only 34 degrees here in the desert.
Mary - have a great day!!
waving howdy to all who land...
I hope everyone has an excellent day!!
:-)
Tina - great blog!!
ReplyDeleteGrowing up in COlorado - there really isn't a distinct accent there.
We would go to Virginia every summer, so I do have a "ya'll" in my vocab every once in awhile..
Every spring - I come back talking "Texan" for a week or two!!
:-)
(and Ronnie, there is NOTHING wrong with that at all!!!)
now, ask IBB if she has an accent!!
(Love ya, sis!!!)..
Jodi - thanks for the donuts... maybe Ellen should really sell those shirts...
ReplyDeleteSacBarb - another tootsie roll all ready today!!!
Goldie - hope your ankles are better today..
ReplyDeleteMorning!
ReplyDelete♥♥:O)♥♥
just trying to get that 25 for you
ReplyDeleteQuestion...
ReplyDeleteIs the vid working for everyone???
cpgem - good morning to you!!
ReplyDeleteThere you go - Goldie - that was for you..
ReplyDeletesending hugs and kisses and smiles..
Sandie,
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first..
how's that for TEDIOUS first thing in the a.m.!!
ReplyDelete:-)
okay - better go get something accomplished...
Hi Birdee,
ReplyDeleteI missed ya, and your poop.. :O)
Good Morning Hooters!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on 1st Sandie.
Great Blog tina~. No, I don't think I have an accent, the rest of you all do. ;)
In New York several years ago, the door man asked me where I was from. I told him Wisconsin, and he said he could tell from my accent. I told him that I didn't have accent - he did! LOL
My son lived in London for 2 years while in College and NO ONE thought he was American. They all thought he was from Ireland. But he certainly came home with a bit of a British Accent.
MEK- you have mail :)
Hope everyone has a great day!
I took my mom to the store this morning to get cigs, I gave her $50.00 to buy me some as well..
ReplyDeleteShe came back with no change!!! She had to have dropped the money and someone picked it up..
She did go back in the store, but it was not there...
We did find $5.00 by the car door tho..
So, total loss.. $29.00
To the person who found it, hope you enjoy spending my money..
The other day, my mom left her wallet in a restaurant, and had no idea she did till our town police called our home to let us know..
Welcome to my world..
Hood morning, everybody!
ReplyDeleteMEK: Sorry I'm just doing flybys... work has gone kind of nuts, and time is scarce!
Carol: Even after over 20 years in California, my Canadian accent on the word "out" gives me away every time! LOL!
Morning Glories!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on first Sandie! Seems we have a bunch of early owls this morning.
Tina I saw New in Town last week it was a fun movie. Mr. Lynn D did not want to see it so he went to one and I went to New in Town. Me and 9 other ladies in one theater! LOL Small Town what can I say. We all laughed and had fun.
I have no accent being from the Northwest, at least not that I am aware of. I am good at pronouncing unusual names. When I worked at the furniture store everyone would give me the hard names to say over the store loud speaker.
The only one I refused was for Mr. and Mrs. Kok. Yes pronounced Cock. I just could not bring myself to page Mr. Kok to my office.
Fun blog!
Goldie I hope the foot is better today.
Morning Everyone!
ReplyDeleteTINA: Love the blog today. I don't have an accent, unless you ask VIG and TINKA..they think I do. I just speak what we call 'lazy Arizonan' droppin' the "g". My folks were both from Ohio, and even after 40 years in Arizona..you could hear their accents.
When RONNIE, GOLDIE or MO write out 'Zonabaaaabeeee' I can just hear them saying it..and it always makes me smile.
I love JODI's accent too..and CPGEM's. It's a big part of their personalities..so much so that when they comment on the blog...I read it with their accents in mind.
Great blog today TINA, as always.
Not feeling too hot today..so I'll just wave and say HI to everyone and be on my way...
ReplyDeleteHI SANDIE congrats on FIRST!
HI BIRDEE stay warm.
HI MARY you keep warm too.
HI MEK you'll have to try and keep cool.
HI CPGEM: Thanks for the Happy Blue..once again..you knew.
HI GOLDIE: Hope your ankle is doing better.
HI BEAR!
HI LYNND: Watch it..I'm jus' sayin' ;)
TINKA: I hope you feel better today.
Have a nice day all.
Hi hooters!
ReplyDeleteA quick fly by, I'm out the door in a few minutes. Work calls!
Don't think people on the west coast have accents, not that I know of anyway!
Will watch the video later on!
Congrats on 1st today Sandie!! :)
I'll try to peek in from work, hope everyone has a nice day today!
Good Morning OWLETTES!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWOOOHOOO... Sandie..
Congrats on 1st!!!
Yea.. We get to see your fluffy little owl every time I comment!!!
Hey Birdee...
I wish someone would knock that snow off your back... I feel cold for you when I see it...
Mary ..I can hear your accent in your writing...
I love it...
MEK... now... do you remeber that time you were in the break room where I worked and you were making fun of MY accent and one of my co-workers said to you.."You are the only one who sounds funny around here!!"
Carol.. After seeing the video of you and Venus..You sound just like I thought you would...
I would love to hear all of your different accents...
I have lived in Virgina for 30 years... so... uh, YEAH... I have an accent... pretty good southern drawl!!! if I do say so myself!!!
Great blog Tina...
I love accents..
Waving a wing at
Goldie...
Whabby...
LynnD ..
ZOna...
Hope you all have a great day...
Hey EBJ...You came in while I was typing novel... sorry it is soooo long....
ReplyDeleteDon't work to hard!!!
O.K....I can't belive nobody has said anything about IDOL yet...
ReplyDeleteI will just .. If I had voted... Those are three I would have voted for...
But I hope Ricky Braddy Gets through on the wild card show!!
40... For S--ts and giggles!!
ReplyDeleteTINA - Luv this blog!!! Uff Da....I can't imagine what you're talking abOOT!!! lol!! Don'tcha know. :O) I love this movie....but I think the best scene is when her secretary asks "Can I ask you a personal question? Have 'ya found Jesus? And Renee's character says...I didn't know he was lost"!!!
ReplyDeleteI definitely enjoy CAROL & RONNIE'S accents!!! And I've heard BIRDEE'S too!!! And you can definitely tell TINKA & VIG are from the same neighborhood. I love it when TINA lets her inner "Valley Girl" out. :O)
IBB - lol @ for SHITS & GIGGLES....there, I said it!!!
ReplyDeleteThe cutest accent I've heard in a long time is hands down, GOLDIE'S Mom!!! Luv it and her!!!
ReplyDeleteGood morning, owls! Accents? I think we can all agree that WE aren't the ones with the accents; It's OTHERS who have them, yes?
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day, everyone!
IBB - yes, I DO remember that day - and that is what I was referring to - when I said - Ask IBB about the accents!!
ReplyDeleteLOL - gotta love..
I was "making fun" of their accents and talkin' just like 'em -
Heck, sometimes when my sister leaves a message on my machine - I have to think - who the hell is that??!! the southern drawl is truly there!! LOVE YOU!!!
waving howdy to Goldie (got it), EJB, Whabby (how is huz doing), Lynn D, Zona (feel better), IBB, Jodi and Bonacci (yes, everyone else has the accent!!).
:-)
Lani - my little "angel" is a Cujo today........ I'm about to pull my hair out!!!!
ReplyDelete(just to let you know)..
guess I MUSt do this..
ReplyDeleteIBB - yes, i agree about Idol..
ReplyDeleteDanny and Michael were my fav boys from the other night - heck, from auditions.....
The gal that made it - she was the only gal that sang well enough to get thru - I felt.
AND - thank goodness the Drama Queen is OUT and if she becomes a wild card - the thing is rigged.
AND - how in the hell could she have even thought that she would have made it over Danny - i mean - COME ON!!!!!
IBB and MEK, I so agree about Idol. But, I did like Ricky Braddy and I hope he does come back on a wild card. I also liked Anoop!
ReplyDeleteMEK, that Tatianna made me angry last night! Did you notice she didn't smile once after she heard that she didn't make it through? Even when Danny was singing, she just stood there and didn't clap at the end. Golly, it makes me glad she didn't go through. I know she was upset but even the young sixteen year old had more manners than she did!
Mr IBB said that they will bring her back to the wild card show just to send her home again..he said she is fun to watch!!
ReplyDeleteCan I tell you guys how windy it is here??? I just went out to bring the trash can in and I bent over to pick up a flying paper when a huge gust smacked my head right into the side of the trash can! I'm guessing my neighbors are still laughing ...
ReplyDeleteZona, I'm not sure why but I thought of you ... ;)
Sandie.. yes she stood over there ..at least she was quietly sobbing behind the other girl..Mr.Ibb said .."watch she will pass out if she doesn't make it." .. I was glad she behaved as well as she did!!!
ReplyDeleteSandie..LOL @ "thought of Zona"!!!
ReplyDeleteSandie and IBB - she DID act like she was going to faint - I was shocked that she didn't - JUST to get MORE attention...
ReplyDeleteand - if you noticed - she was at the OTHER end of the group - then hussled over to be in the background shot of Danny singing.
and I agree - the 16 year took the rejection WAY better than Drama Queen..
I can't believe Mr. IBB thinks she is "fun to watch" - too funny!!
Sandie - the wind is blowing here also - recycle hasn't come yet - I'll be VERY careful when I go to bring the bin in..
IBB, I know--I thought she was going to pass out, too! My daughter was saying, "Geez, get ahold of yourself! Can't you see how everyone else is happy??" It was funny.
ReplyDeleteYes, MEK, be very careful. I'm sure a recycling bin upside the head would feel a bit worse than slamming into the trash can. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, my parents should be here any minute--Dad's bringing his tire pump over because Tyler had an almost flat tire when he went to leave for school today. If I don't get it fixed by this afternoon he'll have to take my car to lacrosse practice and I don't want my car to smell like his does (a locker room). LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a good day and be careful out there!!
Have a great day Sandie!!!
ReplyDeleteare you kidding me?
ReplyDeleteoh do we dare!!!
ReplyDelete69~
ReplyDeletedang...i got a call~
ReplyDeletecongrats ibb....i'll be back at lunch~ :D
ReplyDeleteAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt has been a while!!
I knew you where out there...
ReplyDeleteBwhahahahahaha !!!
Happy Thursday Owls.
ReplyDeleteTina, I love this subject. My father sailed into New York when he was 16. He died at 91 and still spoke with a thick Italian accent. My mother came to New York at 4 years of age and we moved to California when she was 39, but she never lost her New Yawk axent.
Yesterday, the guy that was here to measure for the counter top had a very thick Spanish accent. He asked me a question and the cabinet guy had to translate 'cause I couldn't figure out what he was trying to say.
Sandie, congrats on #1 y'all.
ReplyDeleteMEK, mmmmm tootsie rolls.
Carol, My Mom left her purse in Church one day and didn't realize it until we got to her house and she went to get her key. We drove all the way back and there it was, in the pew, right where we were sitting. From that day on, she wore a fanny pack because she was afraid she would do it again.
Waving to Birdee, Mary, Goldie, Bear, LynnD, Zona, EBJ, IBB, Jodi, Bonacci, and all who land later.
I am off to put all that crap back into the cabinets. BBL
Hey, my first post was 75. Yay for me. OK I'm really going into the kitchen now.
ReplyDeleteHey I just caught up on comments and saw Sandie comment on the wind in her area. Sandie I am worried I just saw a report that there were tornados in Georgia. They had pics and it looks horrible.
ReplyDeleteAre you OK? Please check in!
this is how lame i am~ I was reading the comments really fast and noticed that Sandie commented on accents....and then someone else did....and then someone else! I thought to myself....oh....I love this subject....i even wrote a blog about it! DUH!!!!! (note to self: pay attention to the blog!!! especially when it's ur own!)
ReplyDelete.....in my defense....crazy day today....got my eval...always makes me nervous~
Sandie~ congrats on first~ Your son will probably still have practice in the tornados, won't he? My son practices in snow and also has to shovel the field!!!
ReplyDeletehi Birdee~ you definitely have an accent....there is so much poop in that voice of urs! :D
Mary~ yes i do have an accent....it's called naughty~ :)~
Mek and Ibb~ don't you have the same accent? ur sisters~ :)~
Good day to you Carol~ you don't have an accent~ (we do!) :D
Goldie~ do you sound like Jodi?~
Bear~ I bet I could hear ur "accent"~
LynnD~ You should have gone for the Kok!~ ijs~ :D
Zona~ I can hear the baaaabbbeeeeee too~
EBJ~ West coast....definitely have accents...ask an east coaster~ :)~
Jodi~ you crack me up~
Bonacci~ yup....they are the ones with the accents~ :)~
SacBarb~ aren't our parents' accents the best~
TINA - That's why I understand your accent!!! lol!! Genuine Crackwhore. :O)
ReplyDeleteZONA - I really don't think you have an accent...except for the one ringy, dingy....:O) Oh, and I did NOT get the yoda nurse today!! I used the force and it won!!! Actually, I gave a "double". They take one unit of blood, take out the red blood cells and pump the platelettes and plasma back in and then do it all over again! I don't have to give again til June 11th!!!
Speaking of accents, I am sitting here listening to Prime Minister Harper of Canada. He is speaking aboot the economy.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing accents and foreign languages. Years ago I never thought of myself as having an accent, until one day someone from back east said, oh yes you do.
Okay MEK, so what did you do to the little angel to provoke her. :)
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of angels, I am happy that Paula is doing so much better EBJ. I loved the picture of Poe and his banana. I will see if my parrots would like banana.
BIRRRRRDEE
ReplyDeleteI see you aren't wearing the parka I sent you.
SANDIE
I am wearing flip flops even in the rain. I just saw on the news just how bad the weather is in Georgia. Sounds like the whole state was blowing.
MARY
I still think of Jaime and hope she is recovering from the trauma.
JODI
I am happy you are feeling better. I agree the shirt on Ellen has your name written all over it.
CAROL
ReplyDeleteAll of the videos have worked fine for me. Have a good day at the office.
GOLDIE
How is your ankle doing today. Better, I hope.
BEAR
Are you oot of the hoose and at work? :)
LYNN
So, the NW is the exception? :)
ZONA
Hopin you are sleeepin better and stayin healthy in Arizona. :)
I'm here!! I haven't heard a thing about the tornados in GA! I guess I should pay more attention to the news.
ReplyDeleteWe're experiencing strong winds but no tornados here. I'll have to check and see where in GA that's happening. I just talked to my college son so I know it's not near Savannah. We seem to be pretty fortunate here--most of the bad weather is near Atlanta.
LynnD, thank you for worrying about me!
Lani, got my flip flops on, too!
Tina, yes, they're still practicing in all this wind. LOL @ having to shovel the field. And another LOL at not realizing it was your blog today! Hope your eval went well.
IBB
ReplyDeleteI think I am the only one on the NEST that hasn't watched Idol. I guess I should give it a shot again. The only time I watched a bit of it was a long time ago, and I felt so bad for some of the contestants for the way the judges addressed them. And, some of the contestants were so horrible, I couldn't figure out why they were even considered as singers. I guess I need to lighten up.
BONACCI
Another accent exception? :)
LONELY IN THE KITCHEN
Oh no, will I be wearing a fanny pack one day soon like your mother?
TINA
I haven't seen you at work, but I can't imagine you would get an evaluation less than excellent.
And, your Evening in Paris outfit certainly must have enhanced the situation. BTW, many years ago, and I do mean many, I wore Evening in Paris perfume, or was it toilet water.
TO MY BELOVED CANADIANS
ReplyDeleteTINK
You better be feeling better today.
SHIRLEY
I know you are doing a great job at work.
VIG
I hope we will hear about all of your plans soon.
DONNA JEAN, LAURIE & OLIVE
ReplyDeleteYou aren't forgotten.
Hi...Fun blog today...too bad TINA doesn't know it is her own!! I love the accents of the North and I love the Canada accent. On our two cruises we took were with Holland America and most of the managegment were from Canada and they talked so cute (if that is really the description). MEK, you are right that we don't have accents in Colorado. We have different words for some things but our accents are all the same.
ReplyDeleteCAROL AND LANI: Remember when I lost my purse last year (you weren't here yet LANI). Well, that was a fannie pak but I never put it around my fannie, always just carried it on my shoulder, so be careful!
I am just looking at my arm and I have the blackest of a bruise you have ever seen and I have no idea where it came from. It looks like it must of really hurt too! Do any of you ever have that happen or am I just getting more forgetful?
I like the group picked from AI last night although, I did think Drama Girl sang pretty okay the night before but just can't really see her representing AI or going on tour with all those kids and getting along. I don't love the way they are doing it this year either. Tonight...Survivor and I can hardly wait for Bachelor next Monday...the women speak and Deanna is finally back!
Sending out sympathy to ITEACH AND BEAR. I am really sorry for your losses.
Guess I need to shower and get dressed now since it is almost 3:30! I don't know what I would do if I had a darn job. My husband is on Spring break next week from school so the week will be somewhat different with him home each day..MARY/MI...you probably know what I mean...
CARYN
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you are injured, especially with preparing to move.
SCIRISH
How are you today?
ITEACH
You are in my thoughts.
JOEY
Sending you some sunshine. Promise not another naked lady :)
SLIN
Where are you.
***Breaking news bulletin***
ReplyDeleteMEK...
Tiger just announced he will play next week!!!!!!!!!
***Back to your regular program***
OMG...MEK...you must be so excited to hear about Tiger. I can hardly believe it is time for another tournament that you will be working.
ReplyDeleteCARYN; I hope you get better and sorry you are not feeling well.
TINK: Are you getting better yet? Miss you
SHIRLEY; You get to have a snow day today? I always love snow days and we haven't had any this year.
Hi DONNA JEAN
DIANNE
ReplyDeleteI was just going to ask where you were today. I have had the same bruise surprises. At work I was always running into tables. (My poor mother wanted me to be a ballerina. What a disappointment.) Anyway, when ever a bruise showed up I just presumed it was from running into something, and since it happened so ofter I think I would forget it even happened.
IBB
ReplyDeleteI will be watching the tournament. Thanks for the bulletin.
oMG - i'm home in time for 100
ReplyDeleteHAPPY DANCE!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletenow - I'm going to catch up!!

ReplyDeleteSandie and IBB - did you also notice that "Drama Queen" was SO busy checking out her hair in the monitor that Ryan had to basically wait until she paid attention to him - for him to give the results.
ReplyDeleteSandie - I got the recycle in - just fine - no problem - and our recycle things are just as big as our trash thingies...
SacBarb - I have a hard time understanding half of my neighbors!! LOL
and - I wish they were real tootsie rolls!! LOL
Tina - LOL at not knowing it was YOUR blog...
AND - NO, my sister and I do NOT have the same accent - she moved to a small "hick" town and "talks southern" - I stayed in Colorado where there really isn't an accent.
Jodi - good for you for donating blood today!!
Lani - :-) - that little angel - NOT!!!
Dianne - Spring training has started...... the rockies are in town!!! Gotta love it!!
I am looking forward to Survivor tonight also.. Probst was just on Ellen - I guess they had ALOT of snake bites this go-round - crew members -
ER is new also..

ReplyDelete"I just had goosebumps!!!
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited...
OH - I just might shit myself!!!
YIPPEE!!! SKIPPEE"!!!!
Now you know how the ANGEL TUG feels. :)
So, the next time she has an accident, remember it could have been you! :)
Waving a wing at SLANI - Thank you!!! Dare I say I feel great today? But I do!!! When are you eating at SLINS again?
ReplyDeleteSlani Here I am!
ReplyDeleteSandie Oooh, good job getting in here first today.
Tina LOL that you didn't get that it was your blog today. Eunic should be on the cover of Vogue, BTW.
I enjoyed the movie clip. I also loved the accents in Fargo, one of my all time favorite movies. I don't feel like we have accents on the West Coast but East Coasters probably think we do. At least I don't sound like a Valley Girl.
HODI
ReplyDeleteProbably next week. It is my turn to bring something for dinner. Poor SLIN. I am thinking of fixing Mo's perogi casserole and your apple crisp.
I felt so bad for you being at work so sick. There must be pressure when you are the only one opening up. I hope the rest of your family is healthy.
Lani - she is NOT having accidents - it's the biting and getting into EVERYTHING in the backyard - the digging.... the eating shit and bringing it too me..
ReplyDeleteOH - I wish it was just an accident every once in awhile!!
oh - I could go on!!!
:-)
Jodi - depends - not yet!!! LOL
SLIN
ReplyDeleteLike if you would let your hair grow out and put it up in a ponytail you would get your SC accent back...OKAY
SLANI - Thankfully yesterday when I went home, I only had to be there for 2 1/2 hours. My manager had to do the books for me.....but you're right, it sucks that I had to go in at all!!!
ReplyDeleteLani - she also drew ALOT of blood today....... had to get out the neosporin and FOUR bandaides...
ReplyDeleteYIKES...
119
ReplyDelete120
ReplyDeleteWell MEK, at least give her credit for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWould you like to reach into the computer and slap me? Okay, I will slap myself right after I stop laughing at your post :)
MEK
ReplyDeleteSeriously, have you tried the Dog Whisperer's method. He goes chch and taps (not too hard) them on the neck every time they do something like biting.
Lani - it's okay to laugh!! I don't mind.....
ReplyDeletehell, yesterday - she got ahold of some stake thing in the yard and when I FINALLY rounded her up and caught her (would have made a great video!! LOL) - I grabbed it from her and she had rolled in all in her crap - and then I had it all inbetween my fingers - It was just NASTY!!
SO - laugh away!!!!!!!!!!!
She is giving me a massive headache!!!
:-)
but - she sure is just as cute as can be........... I know that ALL of this will pass!!!
Now - as I type this - she is curled up in a little ball on one of the many dog beds...... tuckered herself out.... (and me too!!!)..
again - laugh WITH me!!!!
Lani - seriously - we have tried it ALL........ but - we keep at it over and over again..... routine is how they learn...... (or not!! LOL).......
ReplyDeletewe watch Cesar ALL the time - never thought we'd have a 'problem' child!! LOL
125
ReplyDeleteHey - guess what the TOP news story is here today!???
ReplyDeleteLOL - Hey, Tiger is coming to town!!!
MEK
ReplyDeleteYes, once again I am laughing. I didn't laugh at the bloody ankles. Maybe it would help if you thought of her as a toddler. You should set up one of those video recorders (or whatever they are called) around the house and yard. Although, I have a movie of the yard incident running through my head.
MEK
ReplyDeleteI used to try the ch on my girlfriend's dog and she would start laughing at me then I would start laughing...not very effective when we were laughing.
I guess I better start doing something in the house....like clean!
Lani - and it wasn't a bloody ankle - she tried to kill me and slit my wrist!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like I tried to commit suicide!!!
SO - keep laughing!!! I am!!!

ReplyDeleteDone with dinner.
ReplyDeleteMy Optom. said me eye pressure still isn't as low as he would like. If not better in 3 months I will he will have to up my dosages to 2 drops (in my eyes) per day. More money. Thank goodness I have insurance. My co pay for one tiny bottle is !11.00.
Carol, I can't see Tina's video.
Sandi, the wind is bad here too. Twice my jeep door came back and slammed me (on my bad leg, of course)!
Jodi, give an extra pint for me next time eh? I had to stop giving. My veins were getting hard to find and little 90 year old Dracula wouldn't quit looking LOL!
Hurt like a SOAB!
MEK,are you picking on Tug again?
"Clean-up on isle 104! MEK is letting lose"
Lani, thanks for asking about Jaimie. She is back to work and trying to go on with her life. That kind of healing takes a long time, but she is a strong young lady.
Tina LOL on your "blond" moment, been there!
Lani, dark blue bottle. yup I remember, I'm surprised a youngin' like you would!
Diane/Denver~Good luck with your temp. shadow/dead weight/food pit/channel surfing, but loveable (had to add that lol) roomie!!
MARY - I did not have the "yoda" nurse today, although she was there, and I made it known that she stabbed the shit out of me last time and I had a bruise that lasted over 2 weeks. The good thing about giving "doubles" is that they use a smaller needle!!! I didn't even feel it go in. :O)
ReplyDeleteJust checking in before I head out the door to run errands. So happy to see that Sandie posted and all is well in her area and her sons.
ReplyDeleteMEK disposable gloves thats all I'm sayin! LOL
LYNN D!!! Good to see you. :O)
ReplyDeleteSANDIE - Glad you haven't blown away!!
LYNN D - lol @ disposable gloves....so true!!!
ReplyDeleteZONA - Congrats to my favorite Angel!!! It is most deserved. Luv u guys!!
ReplyDeleteJodi sending you big ((((Hugs)))! I need to head out.
ReplyDeleteMARY
ReplyDeleteI really hope your pressure goes down. I am glad Jaimie is doing a little better. I am way old enough to remember Evening in Paris. The fragrance would be so sentimental to me. I have to find out if they even make it anymore. Probably not.
Yes, MEK is picking on that poor little innocent puppy!
MEK...I would NEVER tease you about Tiger!!
ReplyDeleteSome things are just off limits!!!
Lani and Mary - that poor little innocent puppy is playing in a mud pit right now - and I told Mr. MEk - since he MADE the pit (by accident) - HE was going to have to clean her up!!
ReplyDeleteIBB - I know you would NEVER tease me about that......
Did you see the pics of his newest addition?? Precious!!
Well....i was at work, and they interrupted our regularly scheduled programing and turned off our phones to tell us that some woman in AZ had shit in her diaper cuz Tiger Woods was playing golf in her neck of the woods~ Has anyone else heard that?
ReplyDeleteYeah..
ReplyDeleteI heard that !!!
IBB~ I mean....i could understand if it was about NASCAR....but golf? :)~

Tina,
I think almost everyone has a accent except for ppl from NY and NJ.. :O)
We have a very big ethic Italian clientele, now you wanna talk about accents, I have such a hard time understanding them.. My business partner is fluent in Italian, so he handles it very well, especially when they speak to him in actual Italian..
It is fun trying to figure out what they are trying to say tho..
Ok... gotta watch greys, something just happen that is making me nervous...
Oh wait... Finally I can Scream this...
AIDOL.. I COULD NOT STAND TATIANA (SP), I AM SO GLAD SHE IS OUT, I SO DID NOT WANT HER TO BE THERE..
SHE WAS GRATING ON MY LAST NERVE..
THANK GOODNESS ALL OF AMERICA THOUGHT THE SAME AND DID NOT VOTE FOR HER. I DID NOT LIKE HER VOICE EITHER..
Ok...back to greys...
Good evening feathered friends!

ReplyDeleteJust/lin...more like fingernails on a chalk board!
ReplyDeleteBARB...loved you kitchen pics! I likey the new cabinets. Very modern.
ReplyDeleteWe had a frickin blizzard today. The freeway by my house had a 27 car pile-up, and was shut down in both directions. I figured it would be better to take surface streets home...took me an hour and a half to get home. I was literaaly shaking when I finally got in the house.
CAROL
