~ Another Successful Blog Buddy Meeting ~

by Tina~in_ut

"Another Successful Blog Buddy Meeting!" Ugh! I can’t stand hearing that. I always think, “Big deal! So two people (or more) were able to get their act together and be in the same place at the same time!” To me, success is meeting, leaving each others' company, making plans to get together again, and actually doing it! Anyone can meet. Not everyone wants to meet up again. kwim?

I’ve been very fortunate. I’ve only met one person that I don’t need to see again and she isn’t even on this blog. I’m sure she feels the same way. Although pleasant, we just didn’t hit it off. And that’s fine. We tried. It's okay to find out that you don't get along with someone. Not everyone is going to become best friends.

I’ve been lucky enough to meet some ladies that I can’t wait to get together with again and there are still others that I am just dying to meet. I’ve gotten together with Zona four times. I’ve stayed at her house and she at mine. I’ve had lunch with Mek twice. I spent 8 out of 9 days of my vacation in Hawaii hanging out with super cool Kgrl. And I got to spend three fun-filled days with Dianne_not_in_Denver_at_the_time. I really enjoyed my time with all of them. (Please don't ask them how they felt.....that's for another blog!) I want to go back to Hawaii before summer and I really want a nonstop flight from here to Madison and College Station airports to magically appear to make it easier for me to fly there, among other places.

One of the funniest things to me about meeting some of you is that I wasn't nervous......or THAT nervous. When I met Mek, it was like we were childhood friends who hadn't seen each other for a while. When I went to Zona's house, I hopped on the plane, got in the car, and didn't even think of being nervous until I was walking up to her door. That was short lived!!!! She had a picture of my favorite person on it! I laughed so hard, I forgot to hug her when she answered the door. Every time I've seen her since, it's like we are sisters who haven't seen each other in a long time and can't wait to catch up. Kgrl and I are such opposites. I don't think that we would ever have met if we lived in the same area. We wouldn't have hung out at the same places, so I'm very grateful that I met her on the blog. She is an amazing, funny person. The poor thing.....I wasn't nervous at all with her. We kinda took her by surprise at work and I jumped outta the car and gave her a big hug! Now Di.....when Zona and I went to the airport to pick her up, Zona asked me if I was nervous. I looked at her funny and asked her why I would be nervous. She said because we were meeting Di. I looked at her like she had grown horns. It was then that I realized that I had never met Di......for some reason I felt like I already had! For propriety's sake, I'll just say that it was like getting together with my older sister when I met Di! :D

Many of us on the blog have become friends who talk on the phone, visit, or just email/snail mail. In the past year and a half, I have come to think of many of you as "real" friends, even if we only "talk" on the blog. We keep coming back day in and day out, or sometimes just here and there......but we keep coming back. To me, THAT is success!

  1. Morning Glories!

Tina I get a kick everytime I read that some of the nesters have met and a little bit jealous too!

Personally I think I would be nervous but that is just me and it would not be about the person I was meeting but will they really like me? Is my hair the right color? Do I have bad breath? Do I need to whiten my teeth? Damn why didn't I lose that 60 pounds before I decided to do this? Do my feet stink? Will they think I am boring? The list goes on and on!

I think most of us would hit it off as we have been blogging with each other for so long. This is my daily breath of fresh air and comfort when I come here.

I dream about hopping a plane heading for Ohio and then Illinois and Wisconsin. Touring the Cali coast and then zooming over to Arizona. New Jersey would be a fun stop and then Hawaii. Canada would be a grand tour. Then I would be back to the US and I would go to Utah, Oregon. What fun I would be painting the state in Colorado! Then Texas (If they would let me in being a semi liberal and all) Oh and Florida! I am exhausted thinking about it! LOL I hope I did not miss anyone.

I am on the run today. I have to get moving have my yearly Doc appt. early this morning. Will be back later!

  2. Good morning, Carol, Lynn D and all who whiz in later. It's so uplifting to see a group of people who get along and genuinely like each other. If I didn't know better, I'd assume most of you were family members. This really is a special place. Anything can happen.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Lynn D: Congrats on first! Also, you didn't mention Kennnnnnntuuuuuckyyy! haha.

Bonacci: I agree, it is a special place. I am glad you are here too. :)

Tina: Great blog! I enjoy hearing about your meetings. I am envious of the calls and visits sometimes but I am always happy that you guys are having fun!

  4. Morning Bonacci and Bebbi!

Bonacci the difference is I like the owl family!

Bebbi I knew I would miss someone. I was wracking my brain to remember all of the states! Maybe I should have the Doc do a memory test!

    Ok gotta go!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Whoops. Why did I think Carol wrote that blog? Not that I don't wish her a good morning and happy day but Tina, kudos to you on a wonderfully written blog. And a howdy to you and Bebbi!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Lynn D, yeah I guess liking each other is a difference... But along with the friendships, confidences and support here, you all hurl insults, pranks and teases like old time family members! It's very refreshing!

  7. Good morning Hooters!
Congrats to my long lost sister on 1st!

What a great blog Tina- I too feel that I am friends with people who I have never met in person. I am dying to meet a lot of people. There is an open door policy at my house in Madison if any of you venture this way!!

I have been extremely lucky to have met and made Jodi a dear friend. I also have had the pleasure of meeting Kgirl. I would love to live closer to her- I think we would have a riot together.

I was never nervous about meeting anyone- but Mr. Goldie sure was. When Jodi and I 1st met he was convinced she was going to be some ax murderer who was going to do me in. LOL

Hope everyone has a great day!

  8. Hmmmpht!!! Lynndeeee doesn't want to come to Massachusetts either, Bebbi.

I also get jealous of the meetings. I love hearing about them, but I wish I could go play too! I think if I did though, I would be a nervous wreck!!!!

  12. Congrats on first, LynnD! Don't forget me down here in GA! LOL Actually, I'm quite impressed you remembered all the states you did!

Tina, it's so great that you've been able to travel around meeting the owls! And, even more wonderful that you all have become such close friends. There are not many more special things than good times with great friends.

I'm not sure I ever would have believed a few years ago that people I met online could be friends, but I also find myself thinking about you all in certain circumstances. It's special.

I think it's so cool that my necklace will return to me after being used by each of you! That's special, too.

I realized when I went back to MD last week how much I miss my friends there. I have friends here but none quite like the ones I left behind there. They are true treasures. Thank goodness for phones and computers!

IBB, I'll be thinking of you tonight. xoxo

MEK, my son is at the Masters today for practice rounds! I can't wait to hear how it was! I know he's freezing his hinder as it's really cold here today!!

Hi Bonacci, Bebbi, Goldie, and Scirish!

  18. Good morning, Hooters!

I woke up to the sound of rain hitting the house. I was so tempted to just roll over and let the sounds lull me back to sleep.

Tina Loved your blog today. I am very jealous of all of you who have been able to get together and create such fun memories. Maybe someday I'll show up at your house and just yell, "Last!" when you open the door. LOL

  19. Good Morning Everyone

I enjoy every one's company on the NEST. I can't imagine I wouldn't enjoy every one in person. I am still leery about making jokes or teasing some one, as I always worry I might hit on a truth without knowing it. I would never purposely tease anyone about a sensitive area of their life.
I have known SLIN for years, so I can tease her about anything and know I am not hurting her feelings, because she thinks she is a perfect person with absolutely no flaws. :)

Thank you for sharing your feelings with us TINA/EUNICE.

    ReplyDelete
  20. SLIN - If you LYAO it must have been quite a bit of laughing.

Didn't I see you on the NEST somewhere else recently? Having trouble finding the right day?

  21. Great blog today! I understand the un-nervous-ness. Paul and I met as internet pen pals, started chatting online, then graduated to phone calls. When we met in person it was as if I'd known him forever and he'd been away on a business trip or something. Amazing how that works.

I enjoy coming here and reading even when I don't comment much and I've enjoyed meeting those people I've met at the last couple of BABB events. I love that no matter what my geography, as long as there's a connection, I can pop in to the manor and see how everyone is doing.

Gearing up for the move to Oklahoma...sorting, packing, selling, giving crap away. We'll load the truck in 40 days and begin the road trip a couple days after that.

We found a new foster home for Arnie and he's doing way better than I expected. It warmed my heart to see shy boy come out of his crate and start investigating his new digs almost immediately. He's going to be just fine!

Saw a new doc last month who sent me to do a sleep study last week. Looking forward to the possibility that a bipap machine will ease some of my fatigue and fibro pain but have to wait until the 22nd to see if the doc will prescribe one.

Paul's still looking for work in OKC. He has an interview this Friday...any extra prayers for him can't hurt! His mom had a mini-stroke a week ago which cements the idea that this move is more important than ever. She's fine but it would have been awful if she hadn't been. We really need to be close to her and glad that's going to happen very soon.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. It's a bit rainy here but the sun is peeking out from behind the clouds so no complaints.

    Hugs to all!

  22. lmao @ MEK & Marley! On the bright side, MOST dogs grow out of the puppy stage .... eventually!

  23. Hi Caryn Love your chocolate bunny. I want to lick it! LOL

Slan You sure are feeling your oats today! Oh, wait....it was that first boyfriend of yours that liked oats. Wasn't his name Ed? Bwahahahahaha!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I am home but have a call on the machine the Doc forgot to fill my bp meds and I have to turn around here in a bit and go back. Yarggggh I would wait until next week when I have blood work done but no she says it can't wait. What a pain it is a 1/2 hour drive in and back each trip.

It is in the 60's and sunshine today. It has been like this for the last 3 days and it is glorious! Tomorrow our usual rain is supposed to hit.

I think I need to dream about hitting all the states in the US! LOL

Off to eat and then hit the road again.

  25. HI Everybody - Sorry I have be MIA. I just got home from the Doctor's. My tests were fine including my mammogram so I am happy about that. I also renewed my driver's license. I was nervous because I thought they might make me take a test but they didn't. Our weather is beautiful for a few days so I am going to take advantage of it. Have a great day everyone.

Tina - I loved your blog as always.

Carol - I loved your blog yesterday too. Sorry I wasn't able to comment. The arthritis in my hands is getting worse so I am typing less. I am reading however and enjoying everyone's comments.

  26. Happy Tuesday Owls.

Tina, Loved the blog today. I must admit, I was very nervous at the thought of meeting fellow bloggers at the first BABB. That's why I took Sharon along to be my chaperone.

Two minutes after we got to Bear's home I knew I worried for nothing. We had a great time, Bear was a great host and we were already looking forward to the next one which was just as much fun. I know I have made some lasting friends.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Tina what a nice blog! Just remember that in the bylaws it says you can't be last on your own blog. ijs :)

I think I would be very nervous to meet any of you. Not that I think any of you are axe murderers or anything (you aren't are you?). I would be wondering if you would really like me or not and I probably would not say a lot at first.

Oh and by the way Tina I have a secret last place too. See if you can find that! Lol!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Lynn, Congrats on #1. LOL @ all your worries.

J/L, LOL @ yelling 'last' if you meet an Owl.

Lani, I think we all tease each other, so it's safe for you to tease also.

MEK, your magic powers are in full force.

I have been out in the windy weather today and my allergies are in full bloom. I have one heck of a sinus headache so I think I'll take a nap and maybe it will go away. Have a good day everyone.

  29. From A51

Zona, I think Bambi is OK. One of the neighbors saw baby and Mom late afternoon yesterday and they were headed up river on the levee. So quit your worrying!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Good Afternoon Everyone!

TINA: I think you're absolutely right, it's not just showing up that makes a blog buddy meeting successful. It's the talking for hours, laughing until you cry...just how very comfortable you feel. I also think it's the feeling of sadness that washes over you when your friends leave.

What I thought was cool was that not one of the people I've met, TINA, DIANNE, MEK or BEAR...ever seemed like a stranger to me. I was completely at ease with each of them...and I can't wait to see them again. I also can't wait to meet my other Owl friends. There's no nervousness anymore..just excitement and anticipation!!

Thanks TINA for a great blog today! The only problem is, now I miss ya'all again.. ~sigh~

    ReplyDelete
  31. SHIRLEY: I know I would like you, because...I already do!! You make me laugh all the time, and you have such a good heart. If I could come up to meet you, I would..in a heartbeat!!

    btw...I have one too... ;)

SACBARB: I am so glad Bambi and Mama Bambi are ok. I'll have to check all of this out on my own when I come to see YOU!! You are making spaghetti in your new kitchen for me, aren't you?? :D

Gotta make lunch for the mister and get dinner for the Nikster..hope I don't mix 'em up.

    BBIAB to read the comments.

  32. My daughter called me today to tell me she couldn't get out of her car. The reason for this is simple really. She couldn't get out because she couldn't open her door. Why not? Good question. I thought so too. Because the car was on the door, and the door was on the pavement. I thought she was pranking me on account of the wee crash I just had but nope. I heard the sirens.

She seems to be fine, but the family doc will stop by later to be sure. She says nothing hurts (wait till tomorrow, I told her). I'm not entirely sure how I'm supposed to handle this situation. I'm not angry (it wasn't her fault) but should I act like I am? I'm very proud of the way she handled herself, but will telling her that encourage her to be brave beyond her limits in the future? Where's the Mom Manual when you need it?

    ReplyDelete
  33. LYNND: Congrats on FIRST!! LOL at worrying about the physical stuff. No one notices...they don't even notice the dust..ijs... ;)

BONACCI: I get the feeling all the time that we are all one big family!

GOLDIE: You might see me in August when it's 117 here..so keep that door open..and the light on! ;)

    IBB: {{HUGS}}

SCIRISH: Just think of all the bead shops that are here..you would be too excited to get nervous! :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. Bonacci My opinion is that you just let her know how thankful you are that she's okay, how lucky she is that it wasn't worse, and how important it is to be an alert, defensive driver. One never knows what the other guy is going to do so it's important to anticipate problems.

    ReplyDelete
  35. BONACCI: For now, just tell her you love her and you're glad she's ok. That usually covers everything. That, and a big hug.

    I'm glad she's ok too.

    ReplyDelete
  36. TINA - Great blog!!! I secretly pray that I win the Powerball so I can take the official HOoter tour....that would be the best!!!

GOLDIE - I was just a tad nervous meeting you for the first time....but it didn't last long. I am thankful everyday for our "real" friendship and that your family even likes me!!!

ITEACH - What a fun lunch I got to spend with you and your hubby last fall. The time just flew and it felt like I had known you for-evah!!! Can't wait to hook up again this summer!!!

TURTLE - So glad that you ventured out in the crappy weather and drove all the way to Madison!!! It was a blast spending time with you!!

Good evening to the rest of you.....I am FINALLY getting on the computer today. The kids are on spring break so my computer is being dominated by my kids.

    ReplyDelete
  37. MEK: Oh boy...do you have your hands full with that puppy!! LOL

    J/L: Send the rain here...please!!

LANI: You are soooo sweet..no one would take your teasing in a bad way..ever...

TINKA!!! YAY! I'm so glad your tests were all good! You got your license too!! Woo hoo! :D

CARYN: You're avatar is making me hungry...lol..

  38. HI JODI! I have always wanted to just walk into your store, get some Glazer Donuts and a DP and surprise you at the counter! :D

    ReplyDelete
  39. SHIRLEY - I know I definitely would love you. I know from looking at your smiling eyes and your humor. I am good at knowing this stuff and I am never wrong. So there! P.S. You could even have all kinds of weird stuff going on and act like a poop and I would still love you.

    ReplyDelete
  40. ZONA - That would be THE BEST!!! And I'm sure I would recognize your smile!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thanks ZONA. I just worry that I could be hitting a sore spot. I'll try not to do that.

BONACCI - I always let my daughter know I love her and support her even if she has made a mistake. If something needed to be corrected we would just talk about it. We should always help them to be brave, but with wisdom in their decisions.

    ReplyDelete
  42. CARYN - I am glad everything is flowing for your move and that ARNIE is settling in comfortably. Sending prayers your way for your husband.

BARB - So glad to hear BAMBI is okay. I'll bet you miss your cabinet guy.

Hi TINK Hooray for a great check up and the license. You are a young healthy woman.

    ReplyDelete
  43. IBB - I am thinking of you tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  44. SHIRLEY - I meant to put a :) after my poop comment. I don't think you are weird or a poop...I'm just saying if you were to be it couldn't matter. See what I mean about being afraid to tease?

I can't imagine that there is any OWL I wouldn't like or enjoy.

    ReplyDelete
  45. LANI - I really have to thank you for the interest you have shown in Sam. And she just adored the thoughtful card you made her. Thanks for being you....and for making us smile!!!

    ReplyDelete
  46. CARYN: Saying prayers for you and your hubby. I'm also glad that you were able to find Arnie a new foster family!

    ReplyDelete
  47. JODI! I keep following you! :D

    ReplyDelete
  48. Thanks everyone, for tips on the kid. I was happy with the way she handled herself, but think it would have been inappropriate if anyone had been hurt. I just told her that. And that I love her, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Lin & Zona, sorry about the bunny. I was craving some chocolate...no bunnies here though. Only robin's eggs which I'm sure I shouldn't be eating but I'm addicted and luckily they only come round once a year. I like those really cheap jelly beans too...go figure!

Thanks for the good thoughts for Paul's job hunt. We were hoping that they'd find a way to let him work remotely, as so many others have done, especially since he notified them almost a year ago that this move was going to happen. But in this economy they prefer to let people resign so they don't have to have a RIF & pay severance. I just wish they had given him more notice. He only got the final word last week and prior to that, they hadn't given a clue which way there were going to go. We should have realized though. They haven't been backfilling vacated positions for the last 6 months and there have been no raises since 2007. Given these circumstances the move is probably our best bet.

I was thrilled when Jim (Arnie's new foster dad) contacted me because I'd been worrying about how we'd support this dog on the road for 4 days. He's really in the best place he can possibly be at the moment. Sometimes you just have to trust that everything will fall into place even if that's not what you think you want or need at the time. Sure seems empty around here without him.

  50. Hey hooters,

    Great blog Tina!

And congrats to Lynn for 1st today!

I have enjoyed meeting people from the blog, too. Like SacBarb, I was a little nervous driving to Bears that day. But within minutes, and after hugs and introductions, it felt like we were all old friends.

We had such a great time and I was so sore the next day from laughing. I didn't get home til 3:00am, which is really, really late for me.

Shirley, I think it is natural to feel a little apprehensive or nervous. But from my experience, it would be very short lived. You would fit in perfectly with your great sense of humor!

Caryn, I'm sad that you are moving away, but it sounds like it is the right thing to do.

So glad you found a home for sweet Arnie! Do you think it will turn into a permanent home for him?

Bonacci, glad your daughter is ok!

  52. Good evening feathered friends!

TINA...how in the hell does such a goof write such great blogs? I think if we ever met, I would need to totally wear a NASA diaper because I am sure you would have me peeing my pants from laughter! You have such a big heart and a sense of humor that is even bigger.

LYNNNNN...congrats on 1st! Woo Hoo. OMG...if you really hopped a plane to OH, I would be running thru the airport (as far as the security check!!)with a smile from ear to ear, giggling and then waiting with bated breath until you emerged from the gate! I know we would exchange hugs and repeat over and over again how exciting to finally meet. Then I would say...oy, you have stinky feet!! ;)

IBB...thinking about you {{hugs}} If we ever meet...please leave the bear at home...ijs!

SHIRLEY...I would absolutley like you! Even though you are a tart! And then after our meeting, I would wait just until you got out the door and get in the last "last"!

CAROL...I doubt I would like you!!! ONLY KIDDING! Sometimes I think we may be related somewhere in a past life.

WHABBY would scare the hell out of me! I know in my head I am intelligent, but I would feel like a bumbling idiot conversing with him!

SANDIE...in 5 months (give or take) we will be able to post of our meeting! I can't wait. I may even wear flip flops for the occassion...just to make you feel at home!

ZONA...goes without saying! If we meet, we would have to go out every night and shut down places
    ;)~

BIRDEE...I am scared to meet you cause I would be afraid you would poop all over me...ijs!

SACBARB...if we ever met, promise we wouldn't get into a down right bitch slap fest over JBJ!! There is enough of him to share!!

LANI...let 'em rip! Tease away if you want! I can take it...but I also give back. I like to share ;)

BONACCI...you made a very astute post about the nest. It is like family. And what is totally great about it is that it is family we choose...not just stuck with!

I truly can't imagine anyone here that I wouldn't love to meet...even SOME of the lurkers!!

  58. Wow so many comments I want to make! Where to start?

Oh, I know where to start- my bra.

What is the life expectancy of a bra?

I just bought them a year ago and the wires all have been snapping. I bought them from Penny's and it is the brand name Bali.

Darn it! Now I have to go by new birdhouses this weekend. I would rather buy a new purse.

  96. Mo, I can't wait until September! How sweet of you to wear flip flops in my honor. :) The only bad thing is that I'm sure I'm going to want to spend more time with you than my MIL. ;)

We found a black lab puppy yesterday on the main road so we brought her home. She had no collar, looks to be about 5 mos. old (still has all her baby teeth) and is adorable. I sent an email out to our neighborhood, called the local Humane Society, Animal Control and looked up petharbor.com and no one is looking for her. I'm not too surprised since I've seen her on the road before this. My college son is begging to keep her. We'll see what happens. For now I have FOUR dogs in my house all driving me nuts. MEK, help!!

My son went to the Masters practice rounds today and saw Tiger, VJ Singh, and a few others. His favorite was Aaron Baddeley. He said the Augusta National Golf Course was so amazingly beautiful that he can't even begin to describe it. He said the grass was so perfect that he wanted to eat it. LOL

  110. It's so funny, reading Tina's blog! I keep thinking, not as much about the nest, as Ross's blog. As an old timer there, I remember the fun and excitement of discovering so many of you in Rossland, and bantering with you and totally enjoying reading your comments and having a really good time with everybody!

And I even remember asking a certain "Sad and Lonely" whether getting active in the online community was being of some benefit.

As I recall, Shirley, you replied Yes!

Then, the future owls began to coalesce over there, and started to comment back and forth with each other. Diane and Zona and Tina and SacBarb and Jodi and MEK and Lynn D and Goldie and Mary/MI and Just Lin and EBJ and Tinkatia and DJ and K-girl and Joey are just some of the names that come to mind as people who became friends over there.

I was so excited when I found that somebody else from the Rossblog (not necessarily somebody who I remember being particularly entangled with the future owls, btw) and yet another close Rossblog friend, "cpgem8", was starting the nest, and that pretty much the whole cadre of "night owl" Rossbloggers were going to set up shop in this new location.

And the rest... is cybercommunity history! :)

  115. Well imagine my surprise to log on to the blog today and see two of my great friends smiling out at me!! Nice way to start the day.

TINA: Do you film everyone getting off a plane? And why are you telling about peeing your pants? I thought you swore ZONA and I to secrecy.

I have been fortunate enough to meet BEAR, MEK, ZONA AND TINA. I know I have told this story before but BEAR was the first blog person I met. I tried to get MrD to go but he said he thought it would be more fun for me to go alone. It always felt like he was sending me on a date that night..."bye and have a good time." I still find that kind of strange as I doubt I would have been so sweet about him going to meet some woman he met on a blog. I must look trust-worthy. I was a little nervous but I, like you CARYN, met my husband on Match.com many years ago. I had a great time meeting all of the blog buddies and felt (in my mind) that I would love to see them all again and wished we all lived closer.

I will be glad when JODIE wins that powerball so we can all meet and SHIRLEY...I will have a super soaker with me...just in case.

CARYN; Do you think you will be coming through Colorado on your move to Okalahoma. I could meet you for lunch on the hwy somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Tinka I'm so glad everything came out okay with both the doctor and with your driver's license. I hope your hands feel better soon.

iteach LOL @ birdhouses! I wish I would get inspired to get out my scrapbooking stuff. Mine is for photo albums and I have tons of loose photos that need tending to. :(

Sandie How wonderful that you are taking care of that poor puppy. Obviously, someone who should be, is not. I vote that you keep it and maybe name it Tuggy Two.

Caryn What a relief it must be that you've found a good home for Arnie. It seems you are moving to OK just in time. It will be a new adventure. BTW, I love the way you and Paul met and fell in love. It was meant to be. :)

SacBarb I totally forgot to watch Idol tonight because I was watching Rescue Me. I have always liked Adam, though. I am an old rocker, I guess. LOL

WHABBY...what was I over there? Chopped liver????

OMG...there goes DIANNEwaitingatatruckstopinDENVER again! Leave the tassles and stilettos at home, mkay? LOL!!

I thought Adam was amazing...but I want Danny to win. Either way, they both seem to have a great career ahead of them.

I need to write my self evaluation for work. I have my review tomorrow. I hate doing that...could be why I am here not writing! Can you believe I have been there a year already? Seems like yesterday.

    ReplyDelete
  118. ok...so I finally am home and am able to comment on TinaHO's lil diddy.

I too, like Whabby so well stated remembered alot of peeps from "over there". Someone mentioned the nest so I stopped in. Felt like an ok place at the time.

Then my cross country road trip happened and I drove several *hundred* miles outta the way (I ain't mentioning any names like a certain owl that rhymes with ....SNAP!!! ) but MEK was gracious and drove to meet me somewhere off the interstate. Then I got to talk with Ronnie as I passed her house...lol.

I spent a couple of days (hours) really with SacBarb even got her on the motorcycle but we won't tell how it never moved away from the curb...lol. And she had her chaperone with so I got to meet Sharon too.

Then on to TinaHO and the Ho's family. The eldest lil T didn't warm up until day 5 or 6 but the twins we're a hoot. The hubby was ok too ;-). I took them to the out of the way places for the best local grinds, ate more ice cream in a week then I do in two years time, talked to dolphins, jumped off cliffs with the kids and even entered a scrapbooking store. Then Tina wanted a ride.....that had me laughing for days. I have never had someone hold on so tight in all my years of riding. I had a blast with all of them.

Then I made my trip back to Chicago this past holiday, and drove thru hella traffic to find JodiHo and Goldie. Well worth it, but the time flew by so so quickly.
I got rasberries, glazers, digmos, a dew, potato salad from Jodi and Fat Stanley from Goldie....lil Fat Stan has already had some adventures...lol.

I tried my hardest to make it to see Weenie on that trip but it just didn't work out.

I have some tentative plans to meet some others, but we will keep those under cover til it happens.

I have enjoyed all of the meet and greets and hope that I have the pleasure of meeting many more.

Bonacci: Glad the daughter is ok.

Iteach: Hope Carolyns eye is ok?

Caryn: Best wishes on the move.

Sandie: If we didnt have quarentine laws I would pay to bring that pup here. I am finally ready for a new fur bud.

EBJ: Cant wait to see if you do come out!!!!

hello to everyone else I have missed, ok enuff babbling....

    ReplyDelete
  119. I really had to laugh when I saw you, TINKA, telling ZONA you should have listened to her and not worry about your test (s) today. She is the one to tell all of us not to worry..sigh, if only I could be care-free and never worry about anything like Ms ZONA!!! (are any of you choking right now)?

I do have to say that I haven't laughed or had as much fun since I was in Arizona in January with all of you. I could use a dose of that at least once a week.

MEK AND ZONA: Did you hear that Jack Elway (John's son) has dropped out of football? Now that is just wrong as we were on the wait list for him to come to Denver in a few years. I wonder how daddy feels about that decision? I guess he is going to continue at the University of Arizona but just not play football. You two will have to fill me in on any scoop on your news.

Well TINA/EUNICE--LANI didn't call you fat but she said you needed "beauty sleep."

I have been out tonight so haven't watched Idol or DWTS yet or Biggest Loser. Looks like I have some quick catching up to do.

SACBARB: Do you still watch DOOL? I ma loving the story line on that show except I can't stand Kate and want Nicole to be worry free for about a day or two..poor thing.

  121. MO: You sure have a good memory about me and truck stops, tassels, etc. I guess it is because you are so darn young!! I can't believe you are at that job for a year already. I can write your evaluation for you and it will be glowing!!

BTW TINA, I forgot to mention that I "guess" it is better to be labeled your "older sister" than your mom because I am much too young to fit that role. I thought we were almost the same age...hmmm, must be wrong!

One other thing you forgot to mention TINA is that we have seen "the swimming pool" at ZONA's. Now we will get the full visual when she says she is going swimming...ewwww!

    ReplyDelete
  147. DIANNE...I do have vacay time, but after the last couple of years I had, I am scared to take it. I fear that if I get laid off again, I need the pay instead of the time off. I know I have to get over that, but my head won't allow it just yet.

    ReplyDelete
  148. MO: I don't blame you. I have be laid off before and I know how scary of a feeling it is for a long time. I guess we will just have to keep pretending you are visiting or vice versa. I sure wish I would have known you when I went to Elway's Hall Of Fame.

I hope it goes well tomorrow. I will let you know, but I won't be here till very late. After work I have to drag my tired ass to my cousin's house as it is the beginning of Passover. I may even miss the boot on Idol...feel free to send me spoilers!

Sweet dreams my sistahs (whabby and joey, too!!)

    NOT LAST
