Enjoy the Ride

by Sandie

A friend sent this link to me the other day and I just had to share it with all of you. It addressed many things we've discussed in the nest. It made me stop, think and slow down--and it made me smile!! I hope it does the same for you.

So, here's a hug from me to each of you. xoxoxo

  13. From area 51:

Mo I am so so. The Doc put me back on water pills to assist my BP meds. The water pills make me nauseated. So I have decided to cut the dosage in half. We will see. Oh yeah and then there is the fun of peeing every twenty minuets. I am afraid to leave the house. :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Sandie: Thanks! I particularly liked the "Don't take yourself so seriously. Nobody else does"!

    So true!

Good morning to the gloating Shirley (LOL!), 'weenie, Bon, Jodi, Goldie, Lynn D, IBB, Tink, and Scrishy!

Well, it's a rather special day. This afternoon, Mr Whabbear and I will venture right into the belly of the beast... aka the Egg Decorating party. Our friends Mark and Steve throw this Easter weekend bash for years now, and it is a not-to-be-missed event.

The signature of the party is the jello shots... every color of the (gay) rainbow, each one uniquely flavored with a color-appropriate liqueur.

Mix in a keg of beer, abundant food, "special" cookies in an Easter basket, and almost 100 partying bears, and there you have it!

    ReplyDelete
  21. One of the sentences in the above post is unbelievably ungrammatical.

EDIT your comments before you post them, people.

    ReplyDelete
  22. SANDIE: Every message in that video..so true. I loved the pics too. Thanks for sharing it with us today.

MO: Enjoy your day off..spoil yourself today, you deserve it!

TINKA: ..and what were you doin' up so late young lady?? Love you too! {{HUGS}} :)

JODI: Did ya do some sox slippin' to that song today? btw..you were right..ijs.. ;)

BEAR: Please decorate an egg, do a red jello shot, have a beer and eat a cookie for me..kay? Most importantly..have a ball.. ;)

Waving HI to BONACCI (looking for eggs already?), GOLDIE (mom and grandma extraordinaire) and LYNND (sorry the pills are doin' a number on ya)...

I sure hope everyone has a beautiful day. It's raining here..and I love it!

  24. Good morning/afternoon, Hooters!

Shirley Congrats on #1! Are you cooking the books, by any chance? LOL

LynnD and IBB I've been taking furosemide water pills for years for edema. Fortunately, they don't make me ill. I take them first thing when I get up and usually by the time I'm ready to leave the house, most of the "urgency" has passed (no pun intended).

Sandie Thank you for the blog this morning. It was a wonderful and inspirational way to start the day.

Bear The party today sounds like a blast. My daughter used to be involved with a large group that would decorate eggs for adults-only in a most unusual manner; people made whole mini-scenes using eggs, the weirder, the better. For instance, I'm sure there will be Octomon eggs this year, with little plastic babies attached to the egg. Anyway, then the organizer would hide them all in a park or field (hundreds o them) and the hunt would begin. There were prizes for most creative/weird eggs. So fun!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Zona - you landed while I was typing...

good morning - OH - you have rain already - it's just 'feeling like it' here right now - I'm sure it's on it's way!!
    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Sandie - thanks for sharing the video with us today!!

Just Lin - howdy!! I can just imagine some of the "adult eggs" - yikes!!
    :-)

Lynn - hope you feel better soon!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hi MEK! Yes, some of the eggs were pretty outrageous (funny, tho). Did you have sweet dreams? :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. "Don't drink too much"??? LOL!

OMG, MEK, Tiger double bogeyed #1!

    ReplyDelete
  29. J/L: That sounds like a lot of fun! When I was young we had adult pumpkin carving for Halloween...oh my..the things we came up with..

MEK: It's actually just drippin' off the eaves right now. It poured last night though, the pool is almost full.

Thanks SACBARB for sending us some wet!! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  30. IBB: Aw maaaan..I missed you..I'm sorry!! I hope you have a good day..lots of tips too! :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Zona and J/L: That does sound like total fun! Several years ago, I tried to decorate my egg to make it look like Mohammad (that was back when Westerners were getting death threats for creating Mohammad images)!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I want to go to Whabbys Easter Party! LOL

Good Morning to all the Owls who have flown in!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Shirley~ congrats on first....i guess~ :D

    Sandie~ loved the video....my favorite:

"What other people think of you is none of your business!"

    LOVE IT!!!!!

Good Morning to Mo, Bonacci, Jodi, LynnD, Goldie, IBB, Tinka, Scirish, MEK, Bear, Zona, and J/L~

    ReplyDelete
  34. Hello!!!!! Is anyone here? I have a cooking question and I need some help. I'll wait.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Zona Isn't it fun to be creative? Well, when no ribbon is involved, anyway. ;)

Bear LMAO @ Mohammad egg. How inappropriate can you get? That was rhetorical! LOL

Tina That was my favorite part, too.

    ReplyDelete
  36. someone take that bottle away from her!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Shirley~ I'd tell you to mark that down....but I'm thinking ur gonna just take it for yourself~ :)~

    ReplyDelete
  38. j/l~ lol@That was rhetorical! :D

    ReplyDelete
  39. Tina I didn't want Bear to take it as a challenge! LMAO!

    ReplyDelete
  40. OK I'll just throw my question out and maybe someone will help me.

I am making Joey's pumpkin cheesecake for tomorrow. The last time I made it I didn't have a large pan so I just bought 2 graham crumb pie shell and it worked out fine. So that was what I was going to do this time. My problem is that one of the pie shells is chocolate.

My question is should I make it and use the chocolate shell or just half the recipe and use the one shell? I'm not sure how chocolate and pumpkin would taste together. Your opinions please.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Shirley How many people are you going to feed with it? If one is enough, then keep the other one for yourself. If you need both, take both. I like pumpkin and I like chocolate, so I'm thinking I would like them together. :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I promise Tina I will give you credit for getting 50 today.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yes, Dear. We were typing at the same time.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Shirley I answered you at 2:38. I have to go blow dry my hair before it dries funny. BBL

    ReplyDelete
  45. Just Lin to the rescue!!

There will probably be 12-14 of us but my sister is also making a cherry cheesecake. I think I will do what you suggested and keep the chocolate one for myself. Thanks! Probably not a good idea to experiment with the family! Lol!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Shirley~ i don't think the choco/pumpkin combo would be good....imho.....but family is the perfect place to try it out! ijs~ :)~

    ReplyDelete
  47. noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

    you tricked me!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Carol, Carol, Carol!!! Where are you? I told you she hadn't kept up her end of the bagain and now I have proof! See it's just like I've been telling you all along. You have been so good at staying away from porn but not our cute little Tina. She has been getting her 69's. What do you have to say for yourself now Miss Tina?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I gave up cussing....not porn!~ :D

    ReplyDelete
  50. You mean I have been setting these traps up all over the blogs for nothing? Well damn! Double Damn!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm sorry Tina. **hangs my head** You can be last now if you want. I won't stand in you way. Am I forgiven? Please?!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Tinka, I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Love and hugs to you, too.

Hi Scirish! Why is it that you always have to wait at the eye doctor?? It drives me crazy! Last time I went with my parents and they called my Dad's name, he jumped up, clapped his hands and said, "Oh boy! Now I get to go sit in the little room and wait!" Everyone cracked up. Silly man.

Whabbear, that sounds like quite a party! We would love to see pictures. ;)

Hi Zona! I hope your knee is better. I guess that rain dance you did worked! :)

Hey MEK! Did it start raining yet? We got our rain yesterday--even a few tornadoes in the area.

Just_Lin, those eggs sound very interesting ... I can only imagine what we owls could come up with. ;)

LynnD, glad to see you're out of the potty! :)

Tina, I agree--I think that's so true. Dr. Phil says something like that, too--"You'd worry less what people thought of you if you knew how little they did." I think that's how it goes!

Shirley, good luck with your pies. I always think that anything with sugar tastes good with anything else with sugar. :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. lol Shirley!~ ur a goof! I don't like porn! Why give up something you don't like! Now cussing....i LOVE!!!! oh well~

    Sandie~ I so agree!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. shhhhhh I am whispering. Mr. Lynn D is driving me cuckoo for cocoa puffs today. I have to keep my voice low incase he hears me.

Every time I get on the computer he decides he wants to talk and if I don't pay attention with bated breath he gets irritated! He's irritated! Geeez

I have finally just given up. He wants to run into town so that is where I am headed.

Somebody hand me some NASA diapers.

Shirley you should try it out on the family. I always do. They no longer ask me to make anything!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Sandie~LOL @ your Dad!!! Sadly that is exactly what happened!

Bear....Sounds like a fun party!! We did that one time around Christmas, we had to do Gingerbread houses....I don't think I ever laughed so hard!

Shirley~I have never heard of that combo...but who knows??

    ReplyDelete
  56. WOW SANDIE what a beautiful video. All of it is perfect.
I used to meditate everyday and somehow I seemed to have slipped away from it. I think silence is something we all too often lose.
    Thank you Sandie.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Welcome home MARY. I look forward to hearing all about it.

You really were a NIGHT OWL last night TINKA. Maybe it is from those Hot Buns!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Hi hooters,

Happy Saturday! I have a couple days worth of blogs to catch up on.

And there is no sound on the computer I'm using, so will have to watch the video for today a little later.

Just wanted to stop by and say hi, and wish everyone an early happy Easter tomorrow!

We aren't doing anything exciting for Easter. MR. EBJ has to work, my parents went to NJ, and my mother in law doesn't usually "do" holidays.

I will check back later, after I catch up on blogs and watch the vid.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Good Afternoon to Everyone. I have been busy making Hot Cross Buns and then a nap.

Zona and Lani - Yes I was a night owl last night. I just couldn't sleep. I think it was the six year old in me getting excited about Easter.

Time to put them in the oven.

VIG - Waiting for you to come home.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Tina again I have to apologize to you. In area 51 I tried to not be last but I sort of messed things up. Sorry. **hangs head again**

    ReplyDelete
  61. i have to take my daughter dress shopping....

    ReplyDelete
  62. does anyone want to take her instead?

    ReplyDelete
  63. not a single craft store on the agenda!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. i'd rather go to the grocery store~

    ReplyDelete
  65. TINA - I'll take her!!! lol @ take that SHIRLEY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. TINA - My oldest son says that Eunice looks like Klinger on M*A*S*H!!! LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Jodi Your son is so right! I'm pretty sure Klinger had a hat just like Eunice's! LMAO!

    Tina I hate shopping, too!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Happy Saturday Owls.

Sandie, Love the video. Make peace with your past so it won't mess up today then you wouldn't care what people think of you because it's none of your business, anyway...or something like that! Thanks.

Bear, do you need a token Cougar for your party? I can be there in less than 2 hours. Oh, and 'ungrammatical' really?!

J/L, I take furosemide, too and I know where every bathroom is in every store, in every mall from Sac to S.F. and the gas stations, too.

Zona, YW. I worked hard at it, but you finally got it.

    ReplyDelete
  69. SANDIE: That was such a nice video today. It really gave me a mist in my eyes. I don't know if I was sad or happy or just misty!

LYNND: Your grandbaby is getting so big and what a darling picture. I hope you start feeling better.

ZONA: You and that darn swimming pool. I can just picture you out there measuring it as it fills up with rain water as you do you rain dance in your slippery socks and pained knee! What does MrZ do while you are doing all of this ritual? Oh no, now I am picturing him doing it with you...except he has on his Bronco hat!! Now that visual is making me smile!!!

SHIRLEY SHIRLEY: You have a cooking question? Well, good thing I came on the blog today because I am known for my in-famous, I mean famous cooking. I even received a new cookbook for Xmas. I am a very fond lover of pumpkin but I don't think so much in a chocolate crust. I need to get you my email so you can email me right away when you have cooking questions. :)

Had our taxes done today and that was such a joy! We did have a nice lunch out at a place on the other side of town we don't get to much.

TINK: When I read yesterday's blog, I noticed that so many people were mentioning "smelling your buns." Now, I love you but somehwere I just have to draw the line. :)

Ok, have to go to the grocery store for a couple of things..see SHIRLEY, I told you I cook. I need some milk, jelly beans and a couple of bday cards!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Hello to all the Owls hoo have landed and hoo will land and to all the lurkers too.

    Mary, safe travels to home.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Shirley, Just remember, EVERYTHING goes with chocolate!

    ReplyDelete
  72. I am wishing everyone a Happy Easter in case I am not back before tomorrow.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Back home and no accidents. I know this is a happy blog today but Mr. Lynn D has stepped up to getting on my last &*^% Nerve!

    ReplyDelete
  74. We went to the store. He would ask me where something was and every time he went the opposite direction. Then he just disappears like a 3 year old without a leash. Yargggh I am going to go mix a drink.

The plus is we did decide to have baby back ribs for Easter dinner with homemade potato salad, baked beans and green salad.

    ReplyDelete
  75. LYNNNNNN...you should have had the Mr. paged as a lost child in the store! That would have put an end to his wandering!! Your dinner sounds delish!

WISHING ALL MY FEATHERED FRIENDS A JOYS AND BLESSED EASTER

    ReplyDelete
  76. Mo it never occured to me to have him paged. I had just resigned myself to leaving him lost in a clothes rack and I was going home.

I feel better now I hit the chocolate eclairs instead of the drink.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Shirley...congrats on first and totally "get" the "in ur face" comment..heat of the moment and all. haha. Glad you got 1st!

Mo: Sorry I missed commenting on your blog yesterday. I really enjoyed it. You have a lot of fun traditions.

Sandie: Great blog today! I enjoyed it very much. I love things like that.

I have been under the weather AND very busy lately. I need to take time and rest to get well but so many things to do. I did take some time on Friday. I had to call in I was feeling so bad. I never miss work. AND, I only got 5,000 steps that day and I really try to get a LOT more than that!! haha.

Well, I am going to try and read comments now. I hope everyone is doing well.

    ReplyDelete
  78. MO: The bad part of LYNND having MrL paged is (if he is like my husband) he wouldn't pay any attention to the page. I would have left him too LYNN!! How about the drink and eclair?

Dang it, I just remembered that I was going to buy some OJ and try that KGIRL drink and now I am home and no OJ. I should have put it on my darn list! I did get prime rib for 4.97/lb...now if I can just find someone to cook it for me! The meat guy and I became friends today, It seemed like whatever aisle I was in..there he was and he wanted to know how I was going to season that meat. I got my best Martha Stewart face and quietly said "garlic/pepper and salt." He said he does his the same way!! If it was April Fools Day I would have said it but since it is Easter, I smiled and said Happy Easter until I ran into him again in the deli.

SANDIE: Thanks for the website to send. I just cannot seem to get it off a blog to forward.

TINK: I am writing to you and you are no where to be found...still doing those buns?

ZONA:....HELLO....I promise I won't sing rain rain go away...

    ReplyDelete
  79. Scirish, my Dad is a silly one.

Lani, you're welcome--I'm so glad you liked it.

    EBJ, how's Paula today?

Tinka, you're STILL baking? You must have lots of buns for Easter.

Dianne, you always make me laugh! Have a great Easter with your family and enjoy Hannah Montana! :) And, you're welcome!

SacBarb, LOL @ your summary of the video! Hey, have you put "finished" pics of your kitchen up yet??

LynnD, I'm sorry Mr. LynnD was being a pain today--sounds like you handled him well. :) Hey, your Easter dinner sounds a lot better than mine--can I come to your house?

Jodi, will you take my daughter shopping, too? I only enjoy it when she's agreeable, which isn't too often. :/

Bebbi, I hope you feel better!! I'm glad you enjoyed the video/blog.

    Hey, Mo!!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Bebbi I'm sorry you're sick. I hope you feel a lot better tomorrow.
