This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
Tina who sang this? I have always loved this song as her voice is so mesmerizing and her lyrics hold so much truth. I always get one of those spingle thrills when I hear it on the radio. It is how I now a great song from just a good song.
I was MIA yesterday. Ran errands and then started to steam clean my couch. More of that today. Then tackling the rest of the livingroom. Can't quit when I am on a roll!
Shirley your blog from yesterday was a hoot and so true! LMAO
Tina er um I hope your hole is not gaping as much today!
Zona and Dianne I bet you guys are having a blast!!!

Well now, that answers the questions.. perhaps if I looked harder at the blogger buzz page, I would have seen a area that says "known issues".. Geez...
Shirley.. I need your help.. I can't find a e-mail addy to e-mail blogger.. I have been on their help page.. but still can't find it.. can you see if you can find one..
Happy Sunday to MEK (congrats on first!!), Carol, Shirley and LynnD and to everyone that pops by later! Have a fabulous day everyone!
Tina...OMG, Tina thank you for choosing this video! It gave me goose bumps to hear it again! I love it! "At Seventeen" song came out when I was about seventeen and it it was as if Janis Ian had been reading my journals. I was having a hard time being seventeen and I used that song to let my parents know what I was feeling, but they didn't get it. But I did and the song really helped me to understand that I wasn't alone in the world and in what I was experiencing. It is amazing the power and impact one song can have! Thank you for a powerful memory and song, Tina!
Lukie is staying with me this weekend. He is the amazing twelve year old boy who is deafblind that stays with me every now and then to give his foster mom a break! I love that kid!! And I am very happy that he is still asleep and didn't wake up at is usual 5am - and I am sure my apartment building neighbours are too.
Hope the duo in Denver are having a fantastic time together!
Good Morning Carol - We had fun yesterday with the blog posted in area 51 and then again showing up where it was supposed to be. For a long time I thought the nest had moved and I had missed the message. You do so much for us, please don't worry when something goes wrong. You have enough on your 'plate' now without worrying about the auto blog. By the way I love you.
Good Morning VIG - Is the sun going to shine today? Did you hear the rain last night around midnight? It smelled so sweet. I haven't listened to the song yet so I will comment on your post later. It is beautifully written.
Good Morning Lynn, East Bay J and Bebbi. My blueberry pancakes and bacon are ready. So I will be back to listen to the song and read the comments. Have a wonderful day everyone. I am going to a family dinner this afternoon. Life is great isn't it?
I shut the blog down again. I am good at doing that.
I loved the song you chose Tina. I remember it well even though I was married and had 3 little kids at the time. It still brings back memories. When I was 17 I was already teaching in a little one room school. I was having a wonderful time. I was almost engaged as I was married at 19. I guess I never had any wild teen-age years. The next time I come to earth I think I will be a 'wild child'.
MEK Congrats on FIRST and FORE! I hope you had sweet dreams, too.
Tina Great choice for today's song! For the most part, being 17 was a great time for me. I was active enough that my body was still in good shape. There was the usual angst over boyfriends, but my worries then were so small compared to things that would happen later in life. At seventeen, my future was still ahead of me and all things were possible. Sweet memories. Thanks again, Tina.
Hi MEK...glad the pups are pooped out so you might get a minute to put your feets up!
Hi my wild child friend Tink...hope you are having a feel great day! I didn't hear the rain last night... but I am very glad to hear and see that it isn't raining today as my friend Luke and I are heading to the Accessible Playground!
Dynamic Duo in Denver....have fun!
EBJ...no prob!! Any new videos of the very entertaining Poe and the very sweet Nancy?
Off to the playground we go. I am hoping to take some good pics of Luke with the new camera my co-workers gave me on my last day of work! I was sooooooooo happy and surprised at such a kind and generous gift!
A plumber will be coming after he's done with another call. I wonder if there will be crack involved. I also wonder if he will be a hunk like SacBarb always gets. I'll report later.
Geez, what is going on around here? Tina's gaping hole has been giving her problems, and now Just Lin's pipes are backed up. Let us know how it goes with the "plumber". **wink**wink**
Just-Lin - Lots of luck on getting a hunk. One never knows her luck until she tries.
I am about to start my strawberry jam. I hope to make one batch before leaving for our daughter's house. The house should smell pretty nice when we get home.
Tinka if you have any extra of that strawberry jam send some over! Please! I haven't had a strawberry yet this season. The local ones are $3.99. A bit too high for me. I'll wait till the price goes down some. Have fun making your jam.
Good afternoon everyone. I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed our Family reunion/BBQ yesterday. We haven't been together since our Dad's funeral 15 years ago.Only one Sister from Georgia didn't make it. We had a wonderful surprise. A wonderful friend of the family found out about our get together and showed up. He used to be our neighbor and the High school basketball coach who eventually became the Principle of the school we all attended. I used to babysit his children. It really made our day!
On Sat. blog, Shirley, I can so relate! I already have poison ivy, had the sticky bbq, and am now cooking meatloaf and mac in the oven!
Vig, loved the "Duo in Denver" term. I bet they are having a ball!
Just lin, sorry your pipes are backed up, have you tried a laxative lol!!
Well, sometimes some people might use that second guy. You know, in case the first one overlooks a clog or something. Especially since it has been a while.
MEK: Would you believe we didn't go, on today of all days? In fact, we're not going out today at all!
Reasons: Two. One, we're both thoroughly hung over from last night's party. We were the last to leave, at about 1 AM, and by then, the damage was most certainly done!
Second: Jim's Dad is going to go any hour now, so he's in no mood for socializing. :(
Shirley - My jam turned out well. I wish you could join me for some crumpets with strawberry jam and tea. Yes, the price of the berries was high. I just closed my eyes and paid it. My daughter and son-in-law grew enough to make quite a few batches of jam. Next year maybe we will try that. Sorry to hear your mom is in pain. That is so hard to watch.
Mary - Aren't family reunions great? There is nothing like them especially when you meet family that you haven't seen in years. We are home from a family dinner. I am ready for sleep. However Tango and Tia want to walk and it's a beautiful summer evening.
We have had a busy day. We went to see the new movie My Sister's Keeper. Its with Cameron Diaz and the little girl from Medium. Good movie but pretty sad.
I gave Zona a big driving tour of downtown, The Bronco stadium, showed her where the Democrat convention was held, etc. We then accidently got caught up in the gay pride parade. We might be on the news waving out the car window :). BEAR, u would have been so proud of us
Right now I'm sitting in the car at the park while ZONA walked up to the Columbine Memorial (little too much walk for these old knees). J/L: very interested in the big snake left by the plumber
It is a cool night here in Mich. I am going to crawl into bed and multitask...no not that lol! I am going to watch Monk Marathon and finish reading my Traveling Necklace book. I forget who wanted it next. Night all!!
I have a dog for sale.....must sell before the kids and hubby get home!~ I thought I'd give the little shit one more chance as hubby mentioned today that Tucker is supposed to have a shock collar on for walks! I don't think you can turn it up high enuf for this little sucker!!!!! I just thank God he didn't kill any other dogs and he didn't pull my arm out of it's socket! close....but no cigar!
MEK~ YOU'RE FUCKING CRAZY!!!~ and that's all i have to say about it~ :)~
Mary~ I'm so glad you had fun at ur family reunion....of course, how could you not....you were there~ :D
Bear~ Sorry to hear about Jim's dad....prayers for the family~
Iteach - Drop by for some biscuits and jam. I was very young when I knew I wanted to be a teacher too. I started teaching at 17 with one year of Normal School. I loved it. I got my degree in Education by night school, summer school and taking a year off teaching. It's a great profession.
East Bay J - I think you should get the little kitty. They would keep each other company. Double the trouble but double the fun. Hold on, who am I to be giving advice? Sorry about that.
I'm having a blast here in Denver with Dianne. I fall into the basement bed every night absolutely exhausted.
DI and MR. DI are really wonderful..I am kinda sick of the grapes they are making me eat though. ;)
MARY!! Tomorrow I go to my first casino! Maybe I'll win a whole bunch of money..then if you come visit Di YOU can go find MY slot..deal?? ;)
MEK: Congrats on the new puppy..I love that you've got Mr MEK speaking it's language aleady. ;)
TINKA: DIANNE is the best..she takes me to cultural events downtown and tomorrow she is going to help me with my math! ;)
TINA: I know..try ROLLERSKATES!! ;)
J/LIN: King Cobra? ;)
CAROL: I'm sorry blogger is being such a poop..
VIG: I'm glad you're having a good time with Luke!
KGRL: It was 69 degrees at 9pm.. we thought of you! ;)
EBJ: It was 110 yesterday in Phoenix..and the a/c went out at my house. Mr. Z was able to fix it though..whew!! Stay cool..anyway you can!! :D
BEAR: Thinking 'bout you and Jim, so sorry to hear about his dad.
HI LYNND! HI GOLDIE! HI ITEACH! HI SHIRLEY..and HI to your chocolate cake avatar too! HI BEBBI!
OK..I have a confession to make..all these wonderful places I've been going and I keep forgetting my camera. I'll definately try to remember it tomorrow.
Now I have a favor to ask..since we are going to a casino..I wonder if all the owls will please send us a little luck..just a little, please? Thank you! :)
EBJ - i vote for the second kitty!! but who am i to vote - I'm the insane one that just got another puppy!!!
But - in all seriousness - we ARE thinking of the future - we know what grief bailey went thru when Barney didn't come home - since bailey is "up in years" - we decided to make sure that our little one had a good buddy so that they will spend their whole lives together..
the afternoon went great - i sat outside in the blistering heat on "dog patrol" to make sure all playing was really playing... everyone is getting along AMAZINGLY well........
and they all are sleeping very soundly right now - they have worn each other out...
we'll see how the night goes..
anyway - our new little guy (yes, we got a boy) - is a mix of alot of mixes - he's brindle in color and looks like our barney... (I'm sure that is why I have been drawn to his picture for a month) - he's So mellow... (cuz we looked at our little one's friend from the dog parks litter mate - and that dog was WAY too hyper for me - he was just full of himself!!!!)...
we aren't sure if we are going to keep his name or change it... but he's had three puppy training classes and knows sit, down, come, wait, leave it and he walks great on a leash!! :-)
TINA: I love the song you chose today. I'm glad it was your son's 17th birthday, and that DEEDEE sent you this song. :)
Funny thing..we heard it at dinner tonight while we were waiting for the laziest waiter in the state to take our orders! I tried to get DI to sing along but she demurred.
VIG: What are you going to do on your first week off? Maybe start packing?
MEK: I can't wait to see "Tommy" in his hand-me-down Bronco outfit. The exciting part is that it might fit this time. Let me know if you need more in all sizes..:)
We have to go to bed early tonight as tomorrow is gambling day and buffet day. We will have the camera but when ZONA takes the first picture in the casino...I think she will be surprised when security takes her away. Shhhh it's a secret and I will try and get a picture of that and maybe..just maybe...I can have her wearing the necklace and boy will it be traveling.

ReplyDeleteA plumber will be coming after he's done with another call. I wonder if there will be crack involved. I also wonder if he will be a hunk like SacBarb always gets. I'll report later.
ReplyDeleteGeez, what is going on around here? Tina's gaping hole has been giving her problems, and now Just Lin's pipes are backed up. Let us know how it goes with the "plumber". **wink**wink**
ReplyDeleteShirley - LOL @ gaping holes and leaking pipes.
ReplyDeleteJust-Lin - Lots of luck on getting a hunk. One never knows her luck until she tries.
I am about to start my strawberry jam. I hope to make one batch before leaving for our daughter's house. The house should smell pretty nice when we get home.

ReplyDeleteK-girl with todays 69 you are only 1 behind EBJ. You will have to march your little fins off the next two days to pull ahead of her.
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking about mum. She is about the same. I think her pain has increased but she is doing ok.

Mary Draino. Does that count? I'm glad you had such a good time at your family reunion. I knew you would.
ReplyDeleteHi and good evening all. :) I hope everyone is having a fantabalistic Sunday!
ReplyDeleteThe plumber is young and cute.
ReplyDeleteHi Bebbi!
Hey J/L. Glad to hear the news about the plumber. Is he gonna clear out your pipes?
ReplyDeleteHe's working on it. My pipes haven't been cleaned out in a while so this may take some time. LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL, well, that is good that you have finally chosen to have a fine young handsome plumber get right on that. ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope he can finish the job without calling in a second guy.
ReplyDeleteWell, sometimes some people might use that second guy. You know, in case the first one overlooks a clog or something. Especially since it has been a while.
ReplyDeleteThe cute young plumber seems to be doing fine, so far. He does have heavy duty equipment, after all.

ReplyDeleteBebbi Actually, he had a really big snake and has left me completely satisfied with the job he did.
MEK: Would you believe we didn't go, on today of all days? In fact, we're not going out today at all!
ReplyDeleteReasons: Two. One, we're both thoroughly hung over from last night's party. We were the last to leave, at about 1 AM, and by then, the damage was most certainly done!
Second: Jim's Dad is going to go any hour now, so he's in no mood for socializing. :(

ReplyDeleteWhabby: Sorry to hear about Jim's dad. :(
ReplyDeleteMek: Wow, congrats on the new puppy!
J/L: So glad to hear the good news. Satisfaction is long in coming on that job, huh.
ReplyDeleteShirley - My jam turned out well. I wish you could join me for some crumpets with strawberry jam and tea. Yes, the price of the berries was high. I just closed my eyes and paid it. MEK, you have ms mail!
ReplyDeleteHey Diane, thanks for checking in! I wish I was with you. We could be nursing our knees together lol!
ReplyDeleteHi hooters,
ReplyDeleteBear, so sorry to hear of Jim's dad. I am thinking of you both...
MEK, MR. EBJ wants us to adopt another orphan kitten that is at our vet clinic! His name is Condor and he is about 4 weeks old.
So far I am holding firm, we have our hands full with the "thug" kitty we have now.
So what kind of puppy did you get????
Tinka your jam sounds wonderful! yum.
Kgirl I'm sure you will pass me up and get more 69s than me! :)
It was 104 here today and we were in the pool til 5:30 tonight.
JL glad your pipes are cleaned out!
I bet the Denver Duo are having a great time together! Can't wait to see pics!
Goldie, hope you are better tonight!
MR. EBJ bought frozen bananas on a stick, yes covered in chocolate too! I have been really good, but that is just too tempting.
Dianne He didn't leave his snake! He used it. I'm glad you and Zona are having a good time. Gee, they even threw a parade for you!
ReplyDeleteBear My thoughts are with you and Jim, too.
MEK Are you nuts? Another puppy? That means double trouble.
EBJ Are you nuts? You don't want another kitty to play with Nancy and keep her out of trouble? LOL

I don't like plumbing, those bills are high ones!
I graduated from high school at the age of 17 . No boyfriend, but had a lot of crushes. I couldn't wait to be a teacher.
ReplyDeleteGot up to let my 'babies' out one last time.
ReplyDeleteIteach - Drop by for some biscuits and jam.
I was very young when I knew I wanted to be a teacher too. I started teaching at 17 with one year of Normal School. I loved it. I got my degree in Education by night school, summer school and taking a year off teaching. It's a great profession.
Dianne - Thanks for the report and for taking good care of my daughter.
ReplyDeleteEast Bay J - I think you should get the little kitty. They would keep each other company. Double the trouble but double the fun. Hold on, who am I to be giving advice? Sorry about that.
ReplyDeleteBack to bed. Night all and God Bless. Love, Tinka

ReplyDeletebut who am i to vote - I'm the insane one that just got another puppy!!!
SO - wish me luck on some sleep tonight!! :-)
and yes, tina, I am fucking crazy!!
Zona - you were posting while I was typing...
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you have forgotten the camera everywhere!!!
Dianne and Zona have "talked" to our newest addition already!!
:-)
(this is for Dianne)...
I hope everyone has an excellent Monday!!
:-)
lmbo Mek~ really really laughing~
ReplyDeletegoldie - if you find my mind - will you send it back!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteMary - yes, we live on the wild side!!
Tinka - don't be jealous - I might not get any sleep tonite!!
:-)
Just lin - happy to hear the plumber was cute!!
and - double trouble means triple poop!!! LOL
Dianne - i had a good laugh at your sight seeing ending up at a Gay Pride Parade... and - I can't believe you all didn't take pictures!!!
tina - I am enjoying your "walking" experiences!!
ReplyDeleteTINA: I love the song you chose today. I'm glad it was your son's 17th birthday, and that DEEDEE sent you this song. :)
ReplyDeleteFunny thing..we heard it at dinner tonight while we were waiting for the laziest waiter in the state to take our orders! I tried to get DI to sing along but she demurred.
BEAR: I am sending good thoughts to you and Jim.
ReplyDeleteVIG: What are you going to do on your first week off? Maybe start packing?
MEK: I can't wait to see "Tommy" in his hand-me-down Bronco outfit. The exciting part is that it might fit this time. Let me know if you need more in all sizes..:)
We have to go to bed early tonight as tomorrow is gambling day and buffet day. We will have the camera but when ZONA takes the first picture in the casino...I think she will be surprised when security takes her away. Shhhh it's a secret and I will try and get a picture of that and maybe..just maybe...I can have her wearing the necklace and boy will it be traveling.
Night....
