~ Love Drunk ~

by Tina~in_ut

This song cracks me up. I reminds me of teenage girls. "I love you!" "I hate you!" "I love you!" "I hate you!" Dang me! Just make up your mind. And then the other night I overheard my daughter on the phone. I wasn't eavesdropping. I couldn't help but hear her. She was doing the dishes and had her blue tooth in her ear (I can't even imagine where she learned that!!!). She was discussing the Homecoming Dance with her best friend. It was the second day of school and already she's talking about a dance that isn't until October! I heard her say that if no one asked her to the dance, she was going to ask one of the boys that she had met at a party she had gone to over the weekend. Of course, being the super-duper mom that I am, I said not a word! Inside though, I WAS SCREAMING!!!! I brought the subject up a few days later and she didn't seem to have a problem telling me what she told her friend! Where did my sweet little girl go? And where in the hell did I get this non-stop chatty high schooler from?!!!!! God help me when she "falls in love!"

P.S. Happy 600th blog!~

  13. Morning Glories!

Hey Mo congrats on first! No cheaqting or anything! Nice conversation too.

Tina I don't know what happens to teenage girls. I was a teenager but was so busy trying to support myself I did not go through the usual teenage angst. I had my own angst but not about boys.

I will have to say I watched the video and sorry but was a little disgusted that Disney put this out. I kept thinking it was the age old male message all my problems are caused by this fickle, tease of a girl. I thought we had come further than this. Guess not. Not very empowering for young women.

Boys take responsibility for yourself! That is what I kept thinking through the whole thing.

You will survive the teen years Tina but it will not be without scars. Then they grow up and have kids and it is a full circle moment. You laugh when they get a child just like themselves and have to bite your tongue on the I told you so's. LOL

  14. MO!! I just noticed..guess I should have said Congrats on 600 instead of FIRST!! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Ohhhh, I feel the BAM!!

    Morning DEE DEE!

No Tina's daughter is to young but I am giving her pointers on how to make sure she lets them know that how they act now will come back later and bite them! Karma in action.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Zona I think it could be. It would be really watered down oatmeal, but what the heck watery cream of wheat if you prefer! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  25. Good Morning every one....

Congratulations Maureen on winning the arm wrestling match for the #1 position...although I don't recall arm wrestling having a punching part...umpht....that smarts!!

Tina's girl has is so genuinely sweet and she is smart as well. Those 2 boys...?? I don't know from. But then again....the youngest...J...does keep in touch with the Grandmother He Never Had better than the other two....

Tina is overly protective of her boys....and as I have said before...I think she and Mr. Tina have done an amazing job with all 3 kids and she such a natural at being a Mother....but every once in a while she has questions....and I live for those...lol

I raised a son and have faced many of the things she tells me about...but a girl???

The best advice I have is slip about $200 into her wallet for emergence's and get her a handgun for her purse.

I have always found that a gaping chest wound will take the fight out of most men.....

    ReplyDelete
  26. Good Morning Everyone!!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Happy 600, owls!! Why, I remember the first one like it was yesterday!

Tina, LOL at the topic today, because of a conversation I had with my younger sister yesterday. She was worried because her oldest daughter, who just turned 13, was going to her first "mixed" teen-ager party last night. That got us into a conversation where my sister was telling me she now checks out who her daughter is hanging around with.

I started to laugh, and so did my sister, because she knew just why I was laughing. She gave my parents all kinds of heartache over the crowd SHE chose to hang with in high school!!

    ReplyDelete
  56. 'weenie: No one is a dunce in the nest. On Wednesdays, please take the cap OFF! LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Happy.. 600th blog everyone.. we have come so far.. Thanks to everyone, and Kudos to everyone..

To all that have stuck with this nest, I thank you, your comments daily, your blogs, your presence, makes this nest what it is.. your continued commitment is appreciated more than you know.

To all that have left, I thank you for your time here and any contribution you have made, you are missed..

MO Congrats on being first on this very special occasion. I enjoyed eavesdropping on your conversation with yourself. : )

Tina Teen girls are something else, aren't they? Like walking soap operas. Everything is so dramatic and emotional. All I can say is, good luck! LOL

Shirley Thanks for the spread today. Yummy!

Carol Many kudos to you for making this blog and keeping it going. xoxoxo

    DeeDee BAM!

Zona For me, it is the "N" word....Nana. My mother is now known as Nana the Great. : )

Birdee Hope you can make time for yourself today. Doesn't a fresh haircut make you feel spiffier?

LynnD You had an intersting take on the vid. I just saw it as a girl who has her pick and is not ready to settle down. I was glad to see that she was fully clothed and not undulating like women are in most music videaos these days.

Bear It is completely overcast and gloomy on the coast today. Two days ago it was in the mid 90s and the beach was absolutely packed!

My son and grandkids were visiting this morning and we had a nice breakfast out. Wish we could have had a little sun, though.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Carol LOL @ chirp fest. Have a nice time with your mom.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Hello and... Chirp, Chirp, Chirp!!!!

Tina, my son was much easier than my daughter in the teen year's...come to think of it, he still is and they're in their 30's now. ;o)

just flying in to see what you all are up to. Spent the afternoon at my mom's. She went with me to get my hair cut. Oh, the poor girl who cut it...Thank goodness she had a sense of humor! I could not decide how I wanted it cut. My mother kept giving me idea's. She's alway's wanted me to cut it shorter...way above the shoulder's. Soooooo, I finally said, the hell with it and told the girl to hack it off! This is going to take some getting used to, having no hair hanging down my neck! But, I must say...it is alot cooler. I think she chopped off about 7 inches!
The dog's only knew it was me coming in by the sound of my voice. ha!

Haven't had dinner yet, so I guess I better come up with some idea's for that.

    Mo, love your breakfast menu!

Carol, you are just too kind to me!

    Zona, HEY! HEY! HEY!!!!!

J/L, alway's good to see you, too.

You guy's are on a roll today! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  76. Mo..

My mother changed her mind, she was tired and plus her hands hurt, she cleaned the oven w/o putting gloves on so she has some blisters.. I know she is crazy, and I told her so.. so she did not get a pedi, I will take her next weekend..

    Boy was that good visualization.....

    ReplyDelete
  80. Jennifer!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS? GEORGE CLOONEY? You did too read the comments!!!!!!!
