Good Morning

by Dianne_in_Denver

Good Morning Owls.....I thought I would send over the Sunday morning music blog to put you all in a cheerful mood. Now, I was going to say it was in my younger days when I took tap dancing (you all know how pretty I sing already) and that it was NOT TINA taking a video of me this time BUT....I am having a vibe that "some of you" might not believe me. I am still just going to say it was me along with two of my old best friends one morning but I am really just telling all of you "Good Morning" and Happy Sunday.

P.S. I just have to include Go Broncos beat Cleveland.

  13. Good Morning everyone~~~
I woke to a very cold house this morning, I think we were in the high 30's last night. I live in Central New York and I had to turn my heat on this morning. Just loved the video, I think, by golly it gave me extra energy to accomplish alot today. Breakfast was yummy and I searched the table and found New York State Maple Syrup for the pancakes. lol But I think I might have Vermont Maple Syrup in my refrig....shhhh don't tell anyone.

I have my bets on the Giants (New York) vs the Cowboys today. They are playing in the new Cowboys Stadium.

Have a wonderful day everyone and enjoy the last few days of summer. Autumn starts officially on Tuesday. Love this time of year!!

    ReplyDelete
  14. GLORIA...good morning to you. We are having cold nights and warm days. I love the cooler nights and being able to curl up in the blankie! But I dread the winter! I live in Northern OH, so I think we probably have the same weather.

Where is everyone? Sleeping in? farming? hatchlinging? farkeling?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Good Morning!

What a happy video this morning! Maybe I should bounce around to the music to get warm!! It was 64 in the house this morning, which is ok when you're under the covers but not so ok for the mad dash to the bathroom!! I refuse to turn the heat on in freakin SEPTEMBER!!!

BTW Gloria, I live in Western MA, we probably also have similar weather

    ReplyDelete
  16. Good Morning!!

Dianne.....did you have a plan B this morning? I think we have enough years between us that I can tell you (although I never hear a word from you anymore) that that video just didn't do it for me this AM. Could you send me plan B at dcrumpled@yahoo.com?? Gracias...

Although it does bring one little known fact to mind. Debbie Reynolds Mother was a Cantonese whore in China when she gave birth to the Debster and then moved to the USA. Her name was Tsai Bok Choy....

  17. Good morning!

What a cheery song to hear! Thanx D in D!

Congrats on 1st today Shirley! I was sharing some string cheese with Poe and Nancy, your breakfast is much better!

Poe will have hash browns and a little bite of all the carbs (with syrup on everything), and Nancy will have scrambled eggs.

KB welcome, good to see you! Love Emerson the owl!

Gloria hi, I have been kinda scarce lately but glad you have joined us here.

Lynn I remember just 8 days ago you saying you didn't want to get Face Book.

Before you left Cali you had joined, and now you are farming! woohoo!

I have not checked into Farmville, even though Sac Barb has sent me a sheep and a couple other things.

I am afraid I will get too addicted to it hee hee.

I have not yet figured out how to find friends, I have gotten requests from some of you and then have a "mutual friend" thingy appear so I can request a few people.

VIG it was SOOO GOOD to hear from you!!!!!!

Been super busy here, I have over 100 unread email to catch up on today and generally behind with all things computer related.

I hope everyone has a nice day today!

  20. This morning I woke up and I smelled autumn!!!!

I have so many neat plans for fall this year.

How about you guys, any of you doing something interesting for fall?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Shirley - I will have pancakes and whipped cream and take a Slim Fast for my lunch. Thanks for making it for us.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Lynn - You have to watch those strawberries. They wither fast. I wish I had as much money in my bank account as I have in my Farm Town account. I am a very rich farmer. Not as rich as Tina I might add.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Jennifer - How are your little second graders doing? We just ended our first week here. That is always a hard one.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Dianne - I honestly thought it was you singing.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Zona - I watered your flowers last night. I haven't checked yet but I bet you were up in the middle of the night harvesting. You need quite a reserve of Diet Coke to do that.

    ReplyDelete
  26. East Bay J - How is little Nancy doing? The scrambled eggs should give her lots of energy.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I must feed my babies. We went out to dinner last night, which involved an hour's drive to get there. My legs were so swollen last night I could have passed for a Douglas Fir. I have more ultra sounds next week. I am getting tired of being disabled. I should count my blessing however. The sister of the friend we had dinner with is in critical care. She fell off a 20 foot ladder and broke just about every thing that could break. I think we shold treasure each day we are alive and kicking.

Have a great day all owls.

Today is my first day that I don't have a birthday party 'in the works'. I am going to be very lazy today. Take care, Love, Tinka

    ReplyDelete
  28. Tink: I know I shouldn't, but I LOL'd at Douglas Fir!

And at Shirley saying that all kinds of milk are available for breakfast... except breast milk!

    Pump, anyone?

  32. Getting ready for our BRONCO party. I seriously cooked and getting ready to put it in the over shortly.

DEEDEE: I was on your farm the other night and you were on there just standing there. I asked you if I could harvest for you and you wouldn';t answer me. Then SACBARB cane on and tried to muzzle me out of the way to harvest for you...you didn't answer her either. We nudged you, kissed you, bumped you..nothing. All of a sudden you left without a word, so..........don't be sayin' I don't talk to you anymore. Oh, and BTW, I came back again later and your fields were all harvested and plowed!!! Thanks for the email address, now you will never get rid of me. Hope you don't think I'm a "stalker". :)

Ok...need to take a shower and get ready. PS Thanks for all the comments on my blog. I think I will greet my guests later tapping and singing. I wonder if they would stay.

  36. Good morning/afternoon everyone!

Shirley Congrats on being first today! Oh, thank you for the scrumptuous breakfast, too! I'll have some of those pancakes. I've been craving them ever since MO mentioned them the other day.

Dianne That was a great vid today. I'm never that cheerful in the morning, myself. Got to admire that dancing, though. Why were they not coughing and wheezing by the time it was through?

Jennifer You're such a fun teacher. Your students are so lucky.

Zona Make sure that's cow milk you're reaching for. You know what a prankster Shirley is.

LynnD I can't believe how quickly you went over to the dark side. LOL

Carol I used to be a tapper, too. Have a great day. I know you'll look spifftacular.

MO Happy last day of Rosh Hashanah. Any special plans today?

Gloria I love fall, too, although living on the west coast we don't get such a spectacular display of autumn colors as you east coasters.

scirish I've been turning up the heat a little more often lately.

EBJ Be very careful about Farmville. Apparently, once you enter, you're rarely heard from again!

Tinka Love seeing your little brown owl today. Nice march to 25! I feel so bad about all the pain you are having with your legs. Please excuse me but I did LOL @ the Douglas Fir comment. :D

DeeDee I think she ran away from the House of Kikkoman, stowing away on the Panda Express.

Bear If you get a hold of one of those pumps......no experimenting, 'kay?

Tina What are you shopping for at Ikea? I'm just being nosy.

TampaGranny Welcome! I was born in Tampa. :)

Okay, Ladies and Gent. I really should try to accomplish something. I will check back later.

  37. Dianne You came in while I was typing my long ass post. I will be rooting for the 49ers this afternoon.

  38. Ladies & Gents~~~
I sit here with a very heavy heart but I must step away from the Night Owls. I left the Ross Blog recently because I was harassed by a individual with comments made to me becasue I ended a "So Called Friendship", well it seems someone has just arrived that I do not want to associate myself with.

I have a very bad heart and I am on oxygen 24/7 and remarks were made continually towards me or about me, so I did the respectful thing, I left Hello Ross.

    Well, it followed me here.

I could rip someone a new one and I will admit, I made some unsavoring remarks at one time in a email to another person. I never personally attacked this person, I simply ignored but all the remarks continued. I went through the harrassment once, I will not go through it again. I went through~~phone calls to my house ( I did not give my number out), one after another, demanding emails and then comments on Ross' blog. You see this person use to live in the Town I live in now. I thought she was a nice person, I found out the truth.

You don't need to judge me about this write up, I NEEDED to write this and not give MY JOY in my life away to a FACELESS PERSON.

Enjoy your Night Owls...I enjoyed the laughter.

    Take care and hugs....

    ReplyDelete
  39. Gloria Crap!!! I'm very sorry you feel you need to leave but you must do what is best for you and your health. We try to keep the nest clear of drama and except for good natured ribbing, treat each other with respect. (((HUGS)))

    ReplyDelete
  40. ONG!! DIANNE!! I have never known you to just out and out lie like that!! I know sometimes I notice people on my land and I just think...now what are they doing here...and who are they...I look at their names...and I warn them telling them I have a gun!

You must have dreamed that episode!!

And I do have to admit I had not watched the video before I asked for plan B....but them I watched it and as always...was charmed by it.

Fell feel to use that email address....and anyone else who wants to....

Maureen...I made that up about her Mother.....I don't know if she was a Chinese whore named bok choy or not....but I do know that Debbie has had major finance problems from her divorce from her second husband because of community-property laws in California...both spouses in a marriage were legally responsible for debts incurred by either....and he had gazillions in gambling debts and bad investments.......
That awful Hotel in Vegas failed and she had to file bankruptcy in 1997....
All the movie memorabilia is in a small museum close to the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. On several occasions she has auctioned off items from the collection. The collection will re-open in the Gatlinburg, Tennessee...area in the future.....

But every dime she had made in her career up to that second divorce was used to pay that giks debts...and she started over....she is really quite a remarkable woman..

    ReplyDelete
  41. thats OMG!! and Feel free......typos...

    ReplyDelete
  42. DeeDee Could it be that you're growing something else on your farm? Something medicinal, perhaps? And sampling your "crop" causes you to not notice people who are bumping you and kissing you? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oh, poo Gloria, I so enjoyed your company!

I'm so sorry your leaving. I wish you could stay.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I just say....Di...I've gone to the same farm and been totally ignored~ AND I'M THE DAUGHTER!!!!!!!!~

    DeeDee~ why hello~

J/L~ I was just looking for cereal bowls for the kids, but it's so much fun going there....I ended up with a set of everyday dishes, pot holders, dish towels, glasses, and the best part....lunch! 3 of us ate for $8....they were still serving breakfast and it was buy one get one free....hubby said that if he had known that, he would have skipped the meatballs and just had the breakfast! (he ate both!)

Gloria~ so sorry to see you go~

    Jennifer~ Gloria's not going poo...she's just going~ mkay?~

    ReplyDelete
  45. Gloria...I haven't had a chance to talk to you much, but I'm sorry you feel that you have to leave. I was looking forward to at least kvetching about the winter weather :-). Maybe you could just lurk for a while and see how things pan out? Justlin is correct in saying that we are a hassle free bunch. Everyone here is respectful of one another's opinions and such.

    ReplyDelete
  46. who do you want me to shoot?~ Mr LynnD?~ :)~

    ReplyDelete
  47. DeeDee...I also admire Debbie Reynolds. It can't be easy starting over because of a @#$@&&*. I also admire the courage and grace she displayed as a young mother when Liz stole her husband.

    ReplyDelete
  48. And before you say it...Yes he was a$@#**& to let himself be stolen!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Tink...Sorry you are hurting. I also giggled at the Douglas Fir comparison though. My Mom had trouble like that in her knees until I bought her this diuretic tea from a herbal store. She had been prescribed a pill that was actually so strong that she had bladder spasms, but it wasn't taking down the knee. This tea really worked without sending her trotting to piddle every 15 mins. One of her knees was so bad that regular pants were difficult to get over it and of course, it hurt. I don't know what was in the tea, but I would be happy to get you some if you would like. It didn't taste bad at all, but you had to steep it for a while. Of course, the causes of something like this need to be checked, but in her case, it was good 'ole arthritis. Seriously, let me know if you would like to try it!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Shirley..

I forgot to congrats you on 1.. how rude of me.. :O)

    Tinka..

Loved seeing you today, sorry you are hurting.. all good thoughts coming your way...

    ReplyDelete
  51. J/L: I rather think you're on to something there!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Speaking of Mom....I debated about sharing this, but here goes. You would think that someone who has had at least a seminar or two about grief counseling (remember the funeral home job?) would be a bit better at handling this stuff. I realized that I needed to slow down as far as cleaning out mom's house, and only do it while I felt strong. I also realized that I had to leave when I started getting upset. Sometimes I have to do an area a couple of times because it is hard to get rid of things that I know my mom would save. But here's a kicker... I was cleaning out one of my OWN bureau drawers yesterday to make room for some of the stuff I've saved from Mom's and found a poem she wrote in 1996. It included the line "A rosey glow of sunset touches my sleeping childs face, Rosey red; the color of my joy" Wanna guess what I did?

But here is my question: I don't remember if I told you all that I helped the pronouncing nurse wash and dress my mom and was kinda ok. But!!!! When the funeral home people wheeled her out I totally lost it..I remember being bent in half and sobbing...Craig (SO) said he had to hold on to me because I was standing, bend over and rocking. Now, it feels like if I start crying again, it would be like that and I wouldn't be able to stop. I received a grief pamphlet from Hospice on Saturday and I read the first article just fine..the second...not so fine...I know I haven't "let it all out" but thinking about doing that scares me...Advice please?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hi all! I finally get a moment to myself!

    Yeay Shirley got #1!

Diane, I have this vid and it is signed by Debbie. I was at her Casino Opening. She graciously posed with me for a picture. I was sorry to see her Csino close. She had all of her costumes there. I am so glad I got to see them.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Scirish, I am glad you feel comfortable enough to post your comment about your Mom. I think everyone handles the grieving process differently. I wish I had the answer. In a way you are fortunate that you get to do the cleaning/sorting. When my Mother passed, my Aunts and Uncles went through her stuff before we had a chance to find a keepsake. I secretly never forgave them for it. All I wanted was her prayer container. She would write a person's name and prayer need on a piece of paper and place it in the tin.She would pray and fast over it. I think my relatives threw it out along with her clothes.
    I think you are dealing with your loss as best you can. {{hugs}}
btw how sweet that you found the poem and it didn't get accidentally thrown out!

    ReplyDelete
  55. SCIRISH: I'm sorry you are hurting..I really do know how you feel. When my mom passed away I cried for hours at a time, on and off for months. We inherited the house I grew up in, and I still haven't gone through everything of hers. There are days that I can look at things and be fine..somedays I will find something and it will cause me to break down all over again.

The thing that really seemed to help me, was talking to someone about all the good times. The silly times..the fun things that made you both laugh. Remembering all the things she said and did that were so funny..doing this always makes me smile even when I don't think I can. When I feel sad now, I think of my mom sitting on a bridge with her feet dangling in the water talking to JODI's mom..both of them laughing and smiling. Do I miss her..yes, every single day..but would I want her to be here suffering as she was? No...I know she isn't hurting now and is happy.

Give yourself time SCIRISH..go slow..cry if you feel sad..and don't be afraid to laugh at the memories of the good times. Remember, she is right there, smiling along with you.

    {{{{HUGS}}}}

  56. scirish What a beautiful love poem your mother wrote for you. That you came across it now, is perhaps a sign that she is still there with you and always will be. She painted you with her love and that will never go away.

As far as grief goes, I know it feels like a bottomless well right now and you fear that if you really tap into it you may never recover. I have a theory though, that holding onto the grief, holding back the tears, only prolongs the pain. During your safe, quiet times, I would lovingly and respectfully suggest that you let some of the pain go. If you need to wail loudly, then wail loudly. I know it is scary, but the more you are able to let it out, the sooner you will find peace with it. (((HUGS)))

  57. I was sitting here all engrossed in the internet when I turned around and saw a squirrel in my living room with a large green nut pod in his mouth. Now that he's gone, perhaps I should close the back door. My cats are sitting on the deck, clueless. LOL

I am very sorry you feel you have to leave, I enjoyed your posts. I am in hopes that in a couple of days you will change your mind, if you enjoy it here, than you should not give it up. I do appreciate the explanation and the offer to leave the nest as to not have drama ensue..

I hope to see ya soon..

  76. Jodi and Carol I once had a domestic rat (blk and white) walk in my open front door even though I had 16 cats at the time! I also once had a raccoon in my kitchen, eating the cats' dry food.

  81. I needed to come back to fluff an owl's feather this evening~~~

    Scirish,
Listen to the wonderful advice from everyone. Try a new approach going through your mom's things, take a moment about whatever object you have in your hand, hold it, a keepsake memory will come to you and when it does, your mom is sitting right next to you. She is guiding you along in going through a drawer or a keepsake you have in your hand. She is right with you. Whatever emotions come over you, let it flow. If tears, let it out and if you smile, it is a memory that you will cherish.

When we went through my mom's personal things (her bedroom), I thought it would be tough. My goodness, the things my mom kept were so touching. All the cards we made or gave her, she had put in a big box in her closet. Such keepsakes of over the years like the little jewelry dishes we made or the ashtrays we made in school, were all in this box. Then we found the "special box". My parents did not openly show their love towards eachother that we saw. Well, we all sat on my mom's bed, reading the cards my dad had left on my mom's pillow or she left on his pillow (he worked nights). My sister, my 3 brothers and myself sat laughing over the keepsakes. My dad was the romantic one and my mom was the sexy one. We left her bedroom with a very warm feeling in our hearts about our parents and it was our mom that allowed us to have it.

Wrapped up in plastic was our Baptismal outfits and my mom had kept my sister and my First Communion Dresses.

Take your time, have a good cry and then have a wonderful laugh over a wonderful memory you may come across. It does not need to be a sad time, remember she is right next to you. She told you that when she left the poem for you to find first.

And about me....time will tell. Just wanted to make sure I reached out and shared. I call it paying it forward. Sometimes our life experiences will help another person and that is why I share so much of me at times.

  82. I hope everyone has a great evening.....Sam needs to finish her homework, so I need to get off the computer.

  83. kerplunk!

GLORIA...I am so sas you feel you have to leave the embracing wings of the owls here. But I certainly understand, more then most know. When we welcomed you, we meant it. If you feel you would like to stop in from time to time, know you are welcome.

    SCIRISH...I can empathize with you. There is no right or wrong in the griening process. You have to do what works for you. As JUST LIN said, I agree to let it out. And as ZONA said, I found comfort in sharing the fun memories with people. 12 years later, I still miss my mom daily and sometimes forget and reach for the phone to call her. And 42 years later I still miss my dad. Know that even if it doesn't seem to get easier, it gets bearable. {{{HUGS}}}

    ZONA...{{{HUGS}}}

    JENNIFER...{{{HUGS}}}

    JUST LIN...{{{HUGS}}}

    DIANNEdarnitINDENVER...I bow to you!

DEE DEE...thanks for the clarification, I really didn't think her name was Bok Choy! That hotel bankrupted her. It was sold off in auction for 5M and she had paid 9M and put in a ton of money to refurbish it. I stayed there in 94 and it was a major dump!! I felt sad and disappointed. It was imploded in 98.

MARY...{{HUGS}} You stayed at the DR hotel for the grand opening? Fun!

    CAROL...how's the new do? I can't get the Emmy's on my tv...dagnabbit!

    ReplyDelete
  90. J/L.....

thats mighty strong talk coming from someone who sees raccoons in the kitchen.... squirrels in the living room...and a rat opening the door!!

The insinuation that behind the cloak of all those palm trees that I smoke cannabis and cavort with my hired hand on my tractor late at night is way off base!

Nor do I...as some have suggested....howl at the moon!!

Besides....theres nothing to eat out there.....ijs..

    ReplyDelete
  91. Oh My.. I forgot to tell Tina that I love the cafeteria at Ikea! Actually I like the whole store..

  93. West Coasters.. I am sorry for the spoiler.. I got a little carried away.. I know spoilers are not allowed, so I will go to the naughty corner..

    :(

    ReplyDelete
  94. CAROL...it all depends on which half you ate ;)~

    ReplyDelete
  95. Mo,

How the heck do you eat 1/2 a goldfish, there is only one way to eat these little suckers.. ya just eat the whole thing!

    ReplyDelete
  96. I meant which half of the bag you ate...the first half or the second half!

So, which dresses did you like? Which ones did you hate?

    ReplyDelete
  97. Has anyone seen this show called Cheaters? It is horrendous

    ReplyDelete
  98. Blap!

OK, it doesn't sound as good as doink or kerplunk!

Nope haven't heard of that show MO. I'm afraid to ask what it's about... cheating spouses??

Scrishy {{{hugs}}} you've gotten some great advice from our owls.

Gloria, I too hate to see you go so soon. I've enjoyed your posts.

I got some new Face Book friends today! Yipee! I am holding out on the Farmerville so far, have not even peeked at it.

JL I think I would crack up to see a squirrel standing in my living room! That's pretty funny. Plus the cats just watching it walk in!

Not watching the Emmys here Carol so no worries about the spoiler!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Scirish: Hugs, I don't know what to say about how to handle your sadness right now. When you told about finding the poem that really struck a chord with me. My Mom writes poetry all the time and when I help her organize I find it. With my Mom recently going through surgery (and my worrying silently about how it would go), well, let's just say that I could see that happening to me if my Mom had not made it. Hopefully, the worry you have that you would "break down" again wouldn't happen. But I don't know that answer. I just want to say that my heart goes out to you.

    HUGS!

Hello to the new people and to the new people who are not going to stay too. I am the absentee owl..flittering in to make comments and then flittering away again for weeks on end.

    Shirley: Congrats on first.

Carol: I also get lost on the internet but not lately. Mom-sitting is over though, so I can get back to it.

  113. Plop!

Have any of you seen the show Glee? omg.....so funny!~

Not watching the emmy's...hubby has the tv control in his hand....than means Law and Order SVU reruns~

Scirish~ I second Gloria~ And I would just cry! When my mom got sick (and only sick), I got my butt to CA and spent a lot of time with her at the hospital until I had to come home to work. Then a couple of weeks later, my sister said that my mom wouldn't leave the house and wasn't exercising like she should be, so i "snuck" into CA...no one knew I was coming, and surprised her....and took her for a walk. She started getting out of the house after that. THEN....a week later, in church, it hit me. I have no idea why, but I was so grateful that she was going to be okay after all, that I started sobbing right there in church, and hubby just put his arm around me and let me~ It felt so good to do that. And I know it's nothing like what you're going thru, I just want you to know that we are all here for you~

Bebbi~ so nice to see you~

    DeeDee~ I've heard you howl~ 'course....it's usually at men~ :)~

  114. Okay..off to bed for me..night all.

Bebbi Hi! Glad you and Mr. Bebbi had a good day. I hope he feels better soon.
