This Night Owl Blog has given so much!
It is a fun place, we don't bash and we have fun being "tedious"!
We offer advice, give love, lots of free food and an open forum which can be about anything that is important, thought provoking or just plain silly.
And sometimes we just March (some to different drummers, but all together). :)
It is not about a single person, it is about all the people on any given day blended together.....Goldie!
So will I watch later Carol... I did alot of thinking last night. I am not giving away my own happiness to another. I enjoy Tina-in_Ut dedication to be #1 and I can not miss that.
Am already planning on a return to the Midwest in October for the High School Reunion. Don't know if I can pull of a 2nd trip. But if it happens have FUN.
Good Morning. Yes, it is Di in Denver up and going. I had to have my car at the dealer at 9:30, go get a flu shot at 11 and guess what....go to the root canal dentist to see "why it still hurts" at 12:30. I have a dentist appt tomorrow to get the final filling in but damn...it still hurts.
DEEDEE: Well, I didn't tell a lie about being on your farm and being ignored (and I had my two little granddaughters with me asking me "Nana, why won't your friend talk to you" sniff) but anyway, SACBARB was there with me trying to push me out of the way to harvest your land.
CAROL: I will have to watch the video later as I just stopped to kill some time at my daughters between appointments. It is sleeting/snowing at her place!
Ok guys, you know how I don't farm and that TINA does all my farming? Well, I seem to have started farming and I went into the market last night (about midnight) and some guy came in looking for a harvester. He hired me and he had 9 plots and gave them all to me. I was there forever but so excited so I bought a pond for my little animals. I told him it was my first time and he told me how great I did! So, I guess I "kind of" farm from time to time.
I'm glad you all enjoyed my video yesterday. I wish I was that perky in the AM but maybe I am but I wouldn't know because I don't usually see the morning.
Ok, time to leave for my shot. Brrr it's 41 degrees here right now. Be back later....Farmer Di
That was a great video Carol. I really feel like I have been to New Jersey now. The closest I have been to N. J. is looking across the Hudson river from New York. Now I feel like I visited you too. I would love to meet up with bloggers but there is no way I could get to the midwest for the weekend. I have been to Cincy and it took 12 hours from the time I left home until the time I arrived at the home of my friends. I was 3 days getting over the jet lag. I think it's a great idea however for all the bloggers from the middle to the East Coast. You will have to take lots of pictures.
I read all the comments. Hi to everyone here and those to come. I just realized I have an appointment. I will try and come back later. Be good. Be safe. Love, Tinka
It is because of you and you and you and you. It is because of all of you and your quick wit that I truly did not want to walk away.
I want to say I am sorry that I expelled some drama yesterday in the nest. Dispelling allows someone to let things go, I let it go and it is in the breeze now. Such a freeing moment that I needed.
Your trip out west sounds wonderful Carol but the tubing that I need just does not go that far. Be rest assured, when the time comes, my thoughts and prayers will be that everyone has a wonderful time.
Tina Why isn't Janice logged on and fighting you for first?.....hehe
Gloria I'm glad to see that you're still here. :)
DeeDee Yes, Tina is in a class by herself, isn't she?
LynnD LOL @ manicures during church services! It might bring increase attendance.
Goldie I think you may have a point.
Shirley, Shirley, Shirley Yesterday you made me crave pancakes. Now it's cinnamon buns.
Kgrl Have a great day in paradise. We should all meet in Hawaii. Weren't we talking about that at one time?
Dianne I cannot believe you are still having tooth pain! This is soooo unacceptable! I really feel for you. Oh, btw....41 degrees in September? WTC? Oh, and now you're selling your services on FB? tsk, tsk, tsk!
Carol Love going for a drive with you! I vote for anyplace that has an airport that is easily navigated.
Jodi What a great idea! Let's all secretly plan to meet at Birdee's house and not tell her. LOL
Tinka I hope you have a good day, Sweet Lady. Congrats on getting #25!
ok lady owls...I just wet my pants. It was not a twit, I said WIT...but DeeDee just did me in. Twat...long story but true. Remember I said I would share about my Mom or my Dad at times. Well, my mom would come out with some zingers and my kids would stand their laughing. My mother used the word twat one day in front of my daughter. The world came to the end, my teenager daughter heard her Grandmother use the word TWAT. She still talks about it and she is 35 years old. DeeDee, you got me laughing here.
DeeDee When my brother was visiting one time when my son and daughter were about 9 and 8, respectively, I didn't realize that was a nude beach and we drove down there and were looking down the bluff to see how to get down to the beach. Suddenly, an older couple walked by, completely naked. My daughter, said loudly, "Eeeewwwwww!!!", which, of course, the couple heard! It was embarrassing but we still laugh about it. LOL
Dee Dee: We didn't end up going! Mr Whabbear was having some intestinal issues yesterday (he's a diverticulitis surgery survivor), so he didn't want to get that far away from indoor plumbing.
"Bottom" line: Little Whabby and the Whabbettes are doing fine!
Carol: Midwest sounds intriguing, especially if we could do it in a city that's a major airline hub like Chicago. I'll bet there's even direct flights from Vancouver to Chicago, cutting Audrey's travel time to a minimum!
Maybe we could even postpone it until next fall to coincide with K-girl's reunion trip? Just thinking out loud here...
CHICAGO!! Why not just make it Detroit! I don't want to have my purse and bling stolen and be stabbed during the drive by shooting because of the rape!!
Whabbear!! Glad everyone is ok...I know how uncomfortable intestinal problems can be......so sorry for Mr. Whabbear and the upstairs maid.....
Gloria.....thats just how it rolls around here....you never know when your jaw is going to drop!! Thats hilarious about your daughter! You have a good sense of humor...
J/L...too funny.....the first time I went to Hippie Hollow on Lake Travis in Austin (clothing optional) I chose the option of keeping my clothes on...but I was with carloads of gay friends and of course they were all gorgeous...and they really had a great time....but just sitting there...looking at all the young..tan...beautiful bodies was great....but you would occasionally catch the floopy..flabby..old man with the 14" public hair sticking straight out......but I tried to stay focused on the young folks....I was so impressed with their lack of inhibition......the shoreline is rocks that go high and make many coves....smoothed by time and the water...really exquisite.....but the rock I had chosen to lay on was part of a pathway to the water...and as long as I was lying on my stomach I thought nothing of the men and women stepping over me......but then I turned over and immediately was given the red eye by this girl with her BF in tow and I swear his nutz hung so low I had to dodge em......well it was a one time thing I figured so I laid back to get some sun....and a steady stream of straddlers began descending via my rock to the water.....I have never stared straight into so many who-has and ya-hos in my life....I moved and dared anyone to straddle me!!!
ya live and learn...and of course I returned many times but I decided....I think its better to leave some to the imagination....beautiful girls in bikinis and beautiful men in their speedos or trunks...to me are just nicer and sexy....
Hi all, heard of this blog thru helloross. I recognize alot of names here.
What made me comment was this video-I used to live in Montclair over 25 years ago. I barely recognize it-was that a Gucci store?!! OMG! Spent many hours waiting for buses on Bloomfield Ave. Thanks for bringing back memories, and to see how things have changed.
DeeDee I'm afraid I'm not that friendly to want some stranger's stuff looming over me, even if I wasn't face up. Talk about invading your personal space! LOL
DEE DEE...is public hair different then pubic hair? Do they style it before going naked in public? ija!!
CAROL...I vote for anywhere in the Midwest, obviously Cleveland would be awesome for me! I will be there, wherever! If I have to eat ramen noodles until then I'll get there! Better yet, not eat so I can be thin by then!!!
GLORIA...LMAO!! My mom would come up with some zingers that would send my friends into hysterics!
BIRDEE...how many people can your backyard hold? bwahahaha
LYNN...If it is May, I am pretty sure the snow will be gone! April...not so sure!
I am still at work. Gonna get going. See ya'll later!
Well it seems from the comments Chicago might be the way to go..
It is midwest, and many flights go there direct, I will look into some hotels and the rates, and then we will get a date set and a head count.. We can also double up on the rooms..
I think the last weekend of April or first week of May Chicago should be snow free.. The weather was also a thought when I was thinking of this, as I did not want to encounter bad weather for everyone..
Hi, and welcome.. Yes Montclair has def changed, I lot of upscale stores moved in and the rents are so expensive.. did you see those condos, 1/2 million, unbelieveable and you don't even get a backyard!
and yes that was Bloomfield Ave, I also when I was younger took many buses..
I would be worried about the weather in Chicago next fall.. as you never know when snow might happen, and if we do one night, that does not give many time to postpone a flight or drive thru the snow..
Jus-Lin - I will have to check into those non-stop flights. When I flew to Cincinnati I went down in Port Angeles, changed planes in Seattle, stopped in San Francisco and changed planes. Then flew to Minneapolis. The plane to Cincy was cancelled and I waited 4 hours for another one. Then it was a short ride to Cincy. As I said before it was 12 hours from start to finish. I guess I was on a milk run I don't know. It's lovely in the midwest however and well worth the trip.
Tinka I was looking on Travelocity.com. It was United and Canada Air that had the non-stops. There are other flights that make stops, take longer, and may be cheaper. That never makes sense to me. They use more gas to fly you all sorts of extra places and charge you less for it.
Carol: Cool hair salon. I am in for the Midwest Meet and Greet. Chicago and Cleveland are good. Indianapolis, Cincinnati (My favorite city in the world) and of course Louisville, St. Louis (there is an adult museum there call City Museum that is supposed to be really fun, my son goes there to visit friends. Also, Chi-town and St. Louis are good because Southwest has good fares to those locations (regional hub-St. Louis).
Carol: If you are worried about weather for Chicago, April should be out because we still get unexpected snow storms down here in April and I know there can be a real good chance of a late snow in Chicago.
St. Louis is a nice option. As I said, they have a lot of attractions and Southwest has a lot of direct flights in and out.
Gloria~ Thank you for the definition....I don't Twitter....but my kids do...I'll try out my new word on them and they'll just think I'm the coolest mom ever!!!~ I'm off for home~
Jus-Lin _ I am a little wiser now. I just let the booking agent do it for me. I probably went for the cheaper ride. Never again however. Now of course we have the internet and can pick and choose.
Thanks for the welcome! Do I address you as cpgem8(?) or Carol or Owl. I thought you might be Katy in NJ.
Parts of Montclair were ritzy back then, I rented a room in Upper Montclair-worked at Annin Flag Co., last place I lived in NJ was Verona. Still lots of my family in NJ. I miss them, and the whole east coast when people talk of foliage, apple picking, apple cider donuts, etc...
Oh well, I can't go anyway. I wouldn't pay for two airline seats and my fat ass ain't going to fit in one!
Talking to you guys on the computer is one thing but meeting all you crazies in person is another! Let me know which hotel you will be at and I'll call ahead to warn them! Lol!
..ohhhh my stomach hurts...I won't go into details..believe me you don't want details..ohhhhhh...
CAROL: Cleveland? Chicago? I would love to be able to attend. We have to replace the a/c unit or the compressor in April..before the heat hits, so I don't know if it would be possible though. Still..never say never..cuz I sure would love to meet everyone. It sounds like it would be a heck of a lot of fun..and with all the laughter, you'd better make sure someone is in charge of bringing the Depends..ijs!!
Loved the video CAROL..it's fun to get out of the house and drive and chat with you!! ;)
Congrats on FIRST TINA!
DIANNE: I hope your tooth has stopped hurting.
KGRL: Chris Berman said DOINK on the halftime report tonight..you might want to copywrite that..quick!
Waving HI to TINKA, JODI, DEEDEE, LYNND, MO, GOLDIE, GLORIA, SHIRLEYBUN, J/LIN, BEAR and BEBBI!
MO I've graduated to eating soft foods. I had tuna casserole for dinner. I'm going to have a slice of apple pie and ice cream for dessert. It takes a while for me to carefully chew the crust of the pie but I manage. :)
Carol is fine.. you are certainly from my neck of the woods, I know exactly where you used to work, and I am in Verona all the time.. This is the first time since I have been blogging that I have met someone online who is from or used to be from my area..
I vote for the first weekend in May. Do they have hotel suites with 2 rooms with two beds in each room? Then 4 people can share and maybe it would be more cost effective
I moved to Mass. after Verona, NJ, and was there for about twenty years. I've been in Phoenix about a year. Quite a change! September is tough-it's what I am missing most-cool weather, foliage, fairs...
Not sure Huz would come, but if I worked on him long enough to allow ME to come, I might have a fighting chance for early May in Chicago!
Chicago has so many travel advantages... ORD and Midway are hubs for United, AA, and Southwest. Between them and Air Canada, I found out tonight that there are direct flights from Halifax and Sacramento. And, I'm going to make an educated guess that there are also direct flights from Phoenix, Tucson, Denver, Salt Lake City, Austin, Portland, Seattle, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Memphis, Newark/New York City, Washington, Baltimore, Detroit, Cleveland, Boston, Philadelphia, Orlando, San Jose, San Francisco, Winnipeg, Minneapolis/St Paul, Des Moines, New Orleans, Albuquerque, Charlotte, Columbus, Cincinnati, Oklahoma City, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Anchorage, and Honolulu.
I think that covers just about everybody... and more! LOL!

ReplyDeleteyay!!!~

Good Morning All You Sweet Little Owls.
ReplyDeleteNow that I have my #25 I will watch the video and read the comments. brb.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great video Carol.
ReplyDeleteI read all the comments. Hi to everyone here and those to come. I just realized I have an appointment. I will try and come back later. Be good. Be safe. Love, Tinka
ReplyDeleteIt is because of you and you and you and you. It is because of all of you and your quick wit that I truly did not want to walk away.
ReplyDeleteI want to say I am sorry that I expelled some drama yesterday in the nest. Dispelling allows someone to let things go, I let it go and it is in the breeze now. Such a freeing moment that I needed.
Your trip out west sounds wonderful Carol but the tubing that I need just does not go that far. Be rest assured, when the time comes, my thoughts and prayers will be that everyone has a wonderful time.
omg....i thought you called me a twit!!~
ReplyDeleteTina Why isn't Janice logged on and fighting you for first?.....hehe

ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about Whabbear going to that beach yesterday...
San Gregorio....its a nude beach....I hope little Whabby and the twins didn't get sun burned.....
ok lady owls...I just wet my pants. It was not a twit, I said WIT...but DeeDee just did me in. Twat...long story but true. Remember I said I would share about my Mom or my Dad at times. ReplyDeleteI vote for CHICAGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCount me in- Jodi and I could commute together...
October would be fine- really no snow then~Spring is a bit of a challenge sometimes. Whatever works though!
Mo: About an hour from Chicago (I would probably fly in) or 6 hours to drive or Cleveland probably about 6-7 hours or about 1.5 hours to fly in.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the welcome! Do I address you as cpgem8(?) or Carol or Owl. I thought you might be Katy in NJ.
ReplyDeleteParts of Montclair were ritzy back then, I rented a room in Upper Montclair-worked at Annin Flag Co., last place I lived in NJ was Verona. Still lots of my family in NJ. I miss them, and the whole east coast when people talk of foliage, apple picking, apple cider donuts, etc...
I hope we do it before October!! That seems like a long time away!!
ReplyDelete**sniffle**sniffle** I guess no one else voted for Nova Scotia huh?
ReplyDeleteTwittering twats are just so pornish! LOL
ReplyDeleteOh well, I can't go anyway. I wouldn't pay for two airline seats and my fat ass ain't going to fit in one!
ReplyDeleteTalking to you guys on the computer is one thing but meeting all you crazies in person is another! Let me know which hotel you will be at and I'll call ahead to warn them! Lol!
Hi Everyone!
ReplyDelete..ohhhh my stomach hurts...I won't go into details..believe me you don't want details..ohhhhhh...

ReplyDeleteZONA...sorry you gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right NOW. Feel better.
JUST LIN...LOL!!
MOTHERHUBBBARD...where do you live now??
MO I've graduated to eating soft foods. I had tuna casserole for dinner. I'm going to have a slice of apple pie and ice cream for dessert. It takes a while for me to carefully chew the crust of the pie but I manage. :)
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY...btw, did you mark down my 100????? Didja? Didja?
ReplyDeleteZona Sorry that you feel bad. :(
ReplyDeleteJUST LIN...tuna casserole actually sounds really good! And apple pie ala mode sounds really, really good!
ReplyDeleteShirley, I have been to Halifax. I would go but they won't let me out of the U.S. Or should I say that once I was out they wouldn't let me back in!
ReplyDeleteHello Motherhubbard and welcome for sure. I am the fly by nighter here at the nest which means I come and go a lot.
ReplyDeleteJ/L: Glad to hear you have moved your way up to soft foods. I have been around people eating liquid diets and soft food diets lately and it is no fun!
Going to bed..night all
ReplyDeleteZona..
ReplyDeleteSorry you don't feel well..
MotherHubbard..
Carol is fine.. you are certainly from my neck of the woods, I know exactly where you used to work, and I am in Verona all the time.. This is the first time since I have been blogging that I have met someone online who is from or used to be from my area..
Bebbi.
ReplyDeleteNite.. sleep well.. and have fairy tale dreams.. :O)
I still seems Chicago is the top vote.. we will wait a day or two for other owls to way in...
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime everyone ok with the first weekend of May.. or we can push it to the third weekend in May..
Zona..
ReplyDeleteWe can def set our sights on May and skip April.. maybe that will help..
Shirley..
ReplyDeleteSorry.. :( but I gotta tell ya, your comment cracked me up.. there ya go with that wit again..
Mo...
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed DWTS.. I will talk more about it tomorrow.. as I don't want to give any spoilers
Mo...
ReplyDeleteTotally with ya on Carries hair..
WTF...
CAROL...maybe it wasn't really Carrie. Maybe it was just an avatar that DEE DEE made!
ReplyDeleteMo..
ReplyDeleteLOL
I vote for the first weekend in May. Do they have hotel suites with 2 rooms with two beds in each room? Then 4 people can share and maybe it would be more cost effective
ReplyDeleteBebbi..
ReplyDeleteJust saw your comment on Halifax..
LOL on not letting you back in..
Holy Buckets!! You can put my pleasantly plump booty on any midwest town!!!!
ReplyDeleteShould we all email you if we are planning to attend, so you can make a file?
ReplyDeleteMo..
ReplyDeleteI am thinking the same thing.. Double up on rooms.. once we get it settled we will look into it..
Oh, K-girl you are coming to Illinois in October! What a great time to come, you will get to see all the leaves in different colors!
ReplyDeleteiteach..
ReplyDeleteSo, I guess that means your in?
LOL..
Anywhere in the midwest is perfect for me!!

I have to get bed, but I'm so excited about all of this!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like...Jennifer, Jodi, Goldie, Carol, Me, Bebbi, Birdee are a "thumbs up" so far! Maybe even **crossing fingers** Lynn, Just Lin and Tinka.
ReplyDeleteMo..
ReplyDeleteI don't know, I think for now we will handle it in the comment section till we get a date set.. then we can make a list and certainly a MWMAG file..
:O)
MWMAG??????????????? HELP with that one, please!

ReplyDeleteI did not see ur goodnite comment..
so goodnite.. sleep well..
Oh Mo, Your gross.. you want to eat urself..
ReplyDeleteYUCK!
I'm magically delicious
ReplyDeletethat u r :O)
ReplyDeleteI moved to Mass. after Verona, NJ, and was there for about twenty years. I've been in Phoenix about a year. Quite a change! September is tough-it's what I am missing most-cool weather, foliage, fairs...
ReplyDeleteNot sure Huz would come, but if I worked on him long enough to allow ME to come, I might have a fighting chance for early May in Chicago!
ReplyDeleteChicago has so many travel advantages...
I think that covers just about everybody... and more! LOL!
MH: Welcome to the Nest!! :)
ReplyDeleteWHABBY...I'll put you on the list!
ReplyDeleteDARE I MARCH?
ReplyDeleteMAYBE I WILL
ReplyDeleteWILL I GET TRAMPLED?
ReplyDeleteSO FAR SO GOOD
ReplyDeleteALMOST THERE
ReplyDeleteBear Would you fly out of SFO? Maybe we could fly together and I wouldn't feel so "lost" going to an airport I've never been to before. :)
ReplyDeleteMO The tuna casserole was perfect! So was the pie and ice cream. :)
CAN I DO IT?
ReplyDeleteSHIT
ReplyDeleteI DID IT! I DID IT! I DID IT!!
ReplyDeleteMO You got it! I didn't even realize you were marching. LOL
ReplyDeleteJUST LIN...can ya get LANI to come, too?
ReplyDeleteJUST LIN...it was purely for personal satisfaction, because I think th by-laws state nothing counts past 100 (which I got!!)
ReplyDeleteMO I'll certainly talk to her about it.
ReplyDeleteMO I think the by-laws state that Shirley makes up the by-laws.
ReplyDeleteJUST LIN...then I don't stand a snowball's chance in hell!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMO Bribe her with bacon.
ReplyDeleteBetter go to bed. The alarm rings in 5 hours.
