It's always nice to hear someone say, "It's all right". Maybe that's why this song always makes me feel good. The Traveling Wilburys were made up of George Harrison, Jeff Lynn, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison and Bob Dylan. Roy Orbison passed away around the time of the making of this video. His voice had already been recorded and he is represented in the video by an empty rocking chair and a framed photo. Unfortunately, George Harrison is no longer with us, either, but what a great sound these five had together.
Perhaps it's my age, but I especially like the following verse of this song:
Well, it's all right, even if you're old and gray
Well, it's all right, you still got something to say
Well, it's all right remember to live and let live
Well, it's all right, the best you can do is forgive

ReplyDeleteOoops I did it again!
ReplyDeleteMorning Glories!
ReplyDeleteJ/L I love that song and that group does it so well. There is a lot of meaning and wise words in that song. Once again Poetry set to music.
Side note: Why do old guy musicians try to stay with their youthful hair styles? LOL I did want to give them all a hair cut and a hot meal watching them.
hey Lynnie poo- congrats again on 1st. and Good morning!!
ReplyDeleteI love this song too- i always say the same thing about old musicians. The hair, clothes and the wrinkled faces just don't go together. I like to Rod Stewart in his suits now, not his spandex!!
Happy Sunday, Hooters! Good morning LynnD and Goldie.
ReplyDeleteA comforting song. Perfect to start a Sunday. Thank you, J/L!
Good Morning!!
ReplyDeleteGreat song....great artists....never heard of them as a group! Thanks Lynn D!
I had to go back and pay attention for Roys rocking chair and frame...THAT gave me goose bumps!! I hope they don't get sucked into an airliner engine! (GOOSEbumps)
Thats been happening a lot lately!! Ask Tina...Delta got a bloody nose the other day from a goose...
"Well, it's all right, the best you can do is forgive"
DeeDee, are we forgiving the goose for getting the plane dirty, or the plane for getting the goose?
ReplyDeletethe plane!! the plane!! The geese were there first!!
ReplyDeleteJust like with sharks....everybody freaks right on out when a shark or 2 are spotted along the coast or near a beach....well DUH!!! thats where they LIVE!! Its their ocean!! Keep your considerable derrière out of it!
Which brings me to tsunami's.....why do they spell it that way? WHY!!!
Why is that "T" there?! Its just like planes in the sky and people in the ocean...GET OUTTA THERE!!
Damn that gets me wound up!!
I LOVED the TW! Raising a glass to George and Roy!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Who's dressing up as Keith Richards for Halloween this year?
P.S.S. Somebody get Dee Dee her ritalin! She's coming in like a idal wave!
Whab. I go as Keith Richards every year. I just brush my hair a little better than usual and, POOF, I'm him.
ReplyDeleteDeeDee, I understand how you feel. There's a good case of humans messing up the environment in Recife, Brazil. An amazing story.
Good morning LYNN, GOLDIE, DEE DEE, WHABBY and CHI CHI.
ReplyDeleteI always liked the Traveling Wilburys. So much talent in one band.
I laughed at the Q'sOTD!!
I think I am heading back to bed for a bit. Not feeling wonderful.
Have a nice Sunday everyone
lmao at Whabbear!!Some things just get me stirred up!!
ReplyDeleteLike Bonachichi telling me about an amazing story in Recife and then NOT TELLING ME WHAT IT IS!!!!!
If you get out beyond the reefs there a shark is going to eat you....a lot of shark attacks have happened there.....
Just take a boat out beyond the reefs along with your camera and your Mastercard...because they don't take American Express....
Thats not necessarily true I just like that commercial.....
Good morning!
ReplyDeleteExcellent song JL! I haven't heard it in years, forgot how much I like it.
Dee Dee, a few days ago there were 3 great white shark sightings all in a close proximity here on the N. Calif coast line (near Santa Cruz, I think).
They were interviewing a woman on the news who was terribly upset that she wasn't notified via a sign posted on the beach that there was a shark sighting.
MR. EBJ and I started laughing at the same time, thinking how ignorant it sounded. Duh! They live in the ocean!
Does she really go in the ocean thinking that if there were no sighting reported that day, that she is safe from sharks?
Someone was just lucky to see one and report it. Surfers and fisherman say all the time that they constantly see sharks and other creatures of the sea, they don't run to the news media to report it each time.
Shirley, thanx for giving me QOTD!
It is a cool, sunny morning, and hopefully will stay that way. I'm doing laundry, and just finished cleaning up the pots and pans and dishes from the birthday party last night.
Hope everyone has a nice Sunday!
Feel better MO!
ReplyDeleteAnd I meant to say thanx for giving me 1 of the QOTD's, Shirley!
Oh, for crying out loud, DeeDee! What's got you hopped up today? Did you break the landspeed record on a toilet or something?
ReplyDeleteRecife is a delightful beachside town in Brazil. To support shipping & tourism, a pier was built. It was built in some migration lanes for sharks. A stream feeds into the ocean near Recife. There's also a slaughterhouse there.
The slaughterhouse was leaking into the stream, which feeds into the ocean. The sharks had their habitat disturbed and were all confuddled. Sharks like blood, slaughterhouses produce it. The sharks went after the prize. Add people, and you've got the shark attack capitol of the world (South Africa has regained that title since). It took us some time to figure it out, but for bit, the sharks were the "bad" guys.
Any questions, DeeDee? I'll be happy to answer if I can.
I personally require that all marine life be relocated or disposed of when I choose to swim in MY ocean.
ReplyDeleteNah!! I don't mind the critters! We had a great white in the water with us during X Games. He was fine.
Hi, Owls! Glad you are enjoying the music. It put a smile on my face today to hear it again.
ReplyDeleteThe other day, my friend's 4 year old granddaughter announced to him that when you are in the ocean and you see pink foamy stuff that means the shark is eating you. ROFLMBO!
DeeDee That's a train they are on, not a plane. Please take your meds. LOL
ReplyDeleteI live in a beach town on the west coast. Why is it whenever there is a tsunami advisory/warning, people rush to the beach to look for it? We always have to have the police there to prevent people from going down to the beach. Sometimes people are so stupid it amazes me. Do they think they could outrun the water if a tsunami did hit?
ReplyDeleteLynnD I forgot to say congrats on first. Roy's hair was just plain weird. Otherwise, I like the guys' hair just fine. It's part of their persona. At least George was no longer wearing the Beatle Cut.

ReplyDeleteOh, I just read my Recife explanation... It did NOT take US a while to figure out the shark problem; It took THEM a while. I was just a bystander who suspected humans had something to do with the mess, but no idea what. I'm not that smart.
ReplyDeleteBack to the Wilburs, the fact that these guys were already successful hints that they were doing it because they loved it. That makes for so much more meaning and dedication, yes?
ReplyDeleteBonach You're right. True musicians do love it. It's their passion.
ReplyDeleteLynnD~ congrats on first....i'm working tomorrow....ijs~! :D
ReplyDeleteDeeDee~ git ur butt over to anna's and pick a pill....ANY pill....it couldn't hurt~ :)~
Bonachichi~ now you see what i go thru day in and day out~ You handled the sitch perfectly~ :D
J/L~ lovely song....none of those guys are really fave's of mine, but it was nice to see them get together, as bonachichi said, because they wanted to~
Good morning (for me anyway) to Goldie, Bear, Mo, EBJ, and Tinka (who couldn't sign in this morning!)
Tina, I like handling situations with DeeDee. She's great fun.
ReplyDeleteI've always loved music. The problem is, nobody who can be considered 'alive' wants to hear me sing.
Tina What's a sitch?

ReplyDeleteHi Everyone!
ReplyDeleteAnother schedule change here in partly cloudy AZ. We're going from days to nights for a couple weeks..just long enough to get used to it, and then back to days again. Keeps life interesting I guess! ;)
J/LIN: I really like this song..and all the singers..well..except..ummm...Dylan..not a big fan of his..although I do like "Lay Lady Lay". This is such an easy going kind of song, one that I've never gotten tired of..but rarely hear. Great choice for a quiet Sunday J/LIN..thank you!
LYNND: Congrats on FIRST..I have to think of a new way to say that..how about..Félicitations pour FIRST! ;)
ReplyDeleteGOLDIE: I like Rod Stewart no matter what her wears!
MO: I hope you're feeling better this afternoon. :)
TINKA: {{{{HUGS}}}}
BEAR: Dress up as Keith Richards? Roll out of bed after a long night on the town and there you are!! :D
BONACHI: The opening scene of "Jaws" still gives me the creeps..
DEEDEE: I can't stop singing the "Patty Duke Show" theme song..thank you for that.. ;)
EBJ: For some reason I read your comment and was thinking of Chevy Chase's "Candygram" on SNL.. ;)
TINA: Good Morning!
OK.."Never gotten tired of, but rarely hear.." had to be the goofiest statement of the day. I need to proofread..and waking up before posting might be a good idea too..geez.. ;)
ReplyDeleteMO Thanks. I thought sitch might be short for senior bitch. LMAO!
ReplyDeleteMr. Z has been getting all of his Halloween decorations out this weekend. He just told me "I just wanted to warn you there's a glowing head in the living room.." ohhhkaaaay...
ReplyDeletebtw..there is! :D
Zona, seeing the "Jaws" movie would be the end of me. I was a kid when it came out and knew even then, I shouldn't watch it.
ReplyDeleteI am not quite stupid enough to swim with Greats, Hammerheads and Tigers.
Bonach I love the movie "Jaws". It's a classic!
ReplyDeleteOK, I have to get back to work. I am typing up collection letters while I watch the 49ers beat up the Rams, 35-0. :)
J/L: I haven't heard this song but do like the words to it. Your 49er's did awesome today! AND SO DID MY BRONOCS!!! We beat Dallas in the last few minutes..held them from a TD to tie the game. We are 4-0 this year. Pretty good with a new coach and new team. I just love football. Do you think I have ever mentioned to any of you?
ReplyDeleteZONA: I simply cannot keep up with your husband's schedule. I never know when to call you anymore. I am so glad to know he has gotten out his Bronco lights for the season. That always seems to help his/my team each year.
I am here to confirm that TINA does have some fluffies from time to time. Hmmm, maybe we should draw straws to see who rooms with her!! I guess I had better be nice though because she is a good helper to me at those airports :)
DIANNE and JUST LIN...congrats to your teams today.
ReplyDeleteMy team is going for a perfect record...NO WINS!
Hello..
ReplyDeleteLynn.. Congrats on 1..
J/L.. I never saw this vid, and I totally enjoyed it, loved the words you chose as well.. It was good to see them all together.. Music sure can make the heart sing..
Zona, Goldie..
ReplyDeleteI like Rod Stewart to, but there is just something about his hair, that just well, does not look right..
especially for his age.. It kinda is the "brooklyn do" but a older version which to be is not very flattering..
Tina..
ReplyDeletecan I go to anna's to and get a pill?
that would be fun!
I am watching DH, then B&S..
ReplyDeleteWaving to all above me and below me...
:O)
Carol, you are so sweet! Your post about Rod's hair is so uncomfortable, like you just don't want to say it.
ReplyDeleteI think Tina farts in church. During silent prayer.
Diane, I am happy you are rooting for real football. I have been living in Fantasy Football Hell.

ReplyDeleteI saw one of the Rolling Stones on tv the other day,and he has kind of a Beatles/mullet sort of do, and obviously dyed black.
ReplyDeleteHe is divorcing his wife of many years for a young Russian gal.
AMAZING Race is on in 20 min!!!
ReplyDeleteYipee
Well it's alllllllllllllllll right... la la la la la
ReplyDeleteI loved the vid! These guys are all from my era. I love Bob Dylan. I have read his bio and have seen him perform twice last year. I almost booked a flight to Vegas to see him at the Hard Rock this month! Hi new music is awesome, especially "When the Deal goes Down". It gives me chills. Roy O. is amazing too.
ReplyDeleteTink,thinking of you!
Tina, are you still stuck in that tree house? A few more lbs. and you can come down ;)

ReplyDelete"that was easy" in my best "Staples" button voice. I guess you are all farming, or doing your own 69ers lol!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week everyone!
Mary I've never seen Bob Dylan perform but I did see him having coffee with Joan Baez in a coffee house when I was a teenager. The older boy I was dating pointed them out to me. I didn't know who they were as it was right before they hit it big and became household names.
ReplyDeleteMO It's exciting to see how well the 49ers are doing this year.
ReplyDeleteDianne We have a new coach, too. Doing a bang up job, it seems. Congrats to your Broncos.
Sweet dreams, HOoters!
ReplyDeleteJUST LIN and DIANNE...we have a new coach, too. That magic doesn't seem to be working here though! ;(
