We are back to the reality of life
Morning is here and we are now
venturing into our new year
work for me begins today, Life is
making its circle, and around the
circle of life I go
I feel as if I have been hit over my
head with one of Shirley's super soakers,
full of water of course, cause without
the water there would be no effect
It is truly hard to shake the holiday cob
webs off my body, Throughout my day
I will be going thru the motions
and as I do, each cob web will drop off,
so I should be able to see things more clearer
And at the end of my day, I should be feeling
better, and by weeks end, I will def be my old self
at least I hope so
I did not make a New Year Resolution, but
after reading what Maxine had to say
I am going with her
So it begins, 2010
:O)

BAM!!
ReplyDeleteI don't want to work anymore!!!!~ suck a duck~
ReplyDeletecongrats on 1st BAM!!!~
ReplyDeleteMy New Years Resolution is to try to be more imaginative!!
ReplyDeleteHi Cantina!!
ReplyDeleteMorning Glories!
ReplyDeleteDeedee snuck into first again. However since there are no rules or bylaws anymore it is really me disguised as Deedee who has been getting first! BAM!
Carol I woke up with that same thought this morning, back to reality the last 5 days have been so nice. Now I have to run out later this morning and gather all of the month end paper work for the food bank and so it begins.
Ummmm Tina I can't wrap my mind around you sucking ducks this morning! That would take alot of manuvering I would think. Have you been doing Yoga?
Oh Lord Deedee with more imagination!
Thank God! DeeDee....you have been so damn boring lately!~ :)~
ReplyDeleteLynnD~ Lying is a sin.....and I don't sin...YOU ARE NOT DEEDEE!~
I don't get to wrapped up in Christmas....too many sad childhood memories.
ReplyDeleteLike this one year.....I had been a student of ballet for years and my dream was to someday dance with the Alvin Ailey Dance Company....I worked very hard at my goal.....
Then it happened....one year at Christmas my Aunt Flossie and her obese daughter Jodine stayed with us......Jodine had taken dance too but her toe shoes kept collapsing and one of the other children got a nasty welt on her face when Jodines tutu elastic broke and hit her.
They seemed jealous because I was pretty and I danced.....
Anywho...my Mother had planned a performance...by me...in front of the family...Christmas Eve....to show what I had accomplished in dance......Aunt Flossie and Jodine laughed and talked all through my dance and Jodine even blew her nose!!
Afterwards my Mother had me tell everyone my goal and I said that I hoped to someday dance for Alvin Ailey......
WELL!! Aunt Flossie (toasted by that time) got up and walked over to me....bent down...looked me in the face and yelled...WELL YOU CAN"T DANCE WITH ALVIN AILEY BECAUSE YOU"RE NOT BLACK!!!! and them she dropped her 6-pack right on my foot...
She shattered my dreams of being a dancer that Christmas....not to mention the box of my favorite tree decorations that Jodine sat on....
And sometimes at Christmas I have this nightmare of Aunt Flossie rising swiftly from her grave and screaming YOU CAN"T DANCE WITH ALVIN AILEY BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT BLACK!!! And Jodine is always there spitting donut powder as she repeats her Mothers meaness.....
so Christmas ya see...
can be scary for me..
Good Morning Hooters!
ReplyDeletecongrats on 1st Bam!
Reality was a real biotch this morning! The alarm rang, my husband has a cold and I am now sitting at my desk-for a FULL week of work! OY
My friend called me all chipper at the butt ass crack of dawn and was so happy I couldn't even be mad. Her son surprised her yesterday on her birthday and came home unannounced from Oregon. She couldn't have been happier if she had won the lottery!
Hope everyone is able to creep thru the day and have a good one!!
CAROL - I looked forward to the kids going back to school today....back in a schedule. Glad to have the holidays behind me once more. (well almost...we have one last get-together this Saturday). And I think I'm with you and Maxine, although I did make a healthier choice for breakfast this morning. Yogurt parfait out of our fresh case....vanilla yogurt, fresh strawberries and granola (with a hint of cinnamon)....all for only 280 calories!! And no donuts!!
ReplyDeleteWaving a wing @ BAM, WHORETINA, LYNN, and GOLDIE!!!
Happy Reality Monday Owls.
ReplyDeleteCarol, I so agree with the cob webs theory. I can only hope they all fall off me, one by one. I think every year one more sticks and refuses to fall. One day (probably soon) I'll probably not be able to shake any of them and my kids will just put me in a corner and forget to dust me. :(
Dee, I don't think it is possible to be more imaginative than you already are!! :0
ReplyDeleteWaving a wing to Carol, Dee (BAM!!), Tina, Lynn, Jodi and all who land later.
SACBARB - I can't imagine them not dusting you....you're too freakin' cute!!!
ReplyDeleteSacBarb if your kids don't dust you off I'll come by with my supersoaker!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon and congrats on 1st DeeDee! You should publish you Christmas story, it could become another Christmas classic like Frosty and The Grinch!
Good afternoon Tina (hi Janice if you're "working" too), Lynn D, Goldie, Jodi and SacBarb!
I wasn't looking forward to today either, not because I had to work, but because I had to go out in all the snow we had over the weekend. My fear of falling kept me looking for any excuse not to go to mum's today, but in the end I put my Yak Traks on my boots and went. And I didn't fall!!!!!!! Yay for me!!!!!!!
Shirley~ I will have you know....Janice is offended by your insinuation that she is not working!!!~ (Someone has to make up for my lack of work!!)
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY - I've been meaning to get a set of Yak Trax.....not the most graceful on ice or snow!!! lol @ dusting SACBARB off with your Supersoaker!!
ReplyDeleteJANICE - Glad SOMEONE is covering TINA'S ass!!!
Oh Janice I'm sure you're working very hard. The intent in my comment was that I didn't know if you were AT work. You are probably the top worker in your company. Keep up the good work!! Am I forgiven?
ReplyDeleteJodi get the Yak Trax. They work pretty good.
ReplyDeleteTina GET BACK TO WORK!!!
ReplyDeleteSHIRLEY AND JODI: What are Yak Trax? I don't know if we have heard of them in Colorado...we are pretty fashionable, ya know? I am just like you SHIRLLEY, scared to death I will fall. As I always say, I would rather drive in the snow and ice than walk in it.
ReplyDeleteDEEDEE: When I first started reading your Christmas story, I thought your mom was going to have you dance with Alvin and the Chipmunks...but then remembered.....I don't think they were around in our day...well maybe.
Our weather is nice today, I don't have to go to work but am feeling very blue and I don't know why. I feel like I have PMS but am too old to even have menopause. My daughter was giving me days the girls were busy in the next three weeks they are off school (on year round track) and it didn't seem like there was time for me...got me all choked up and had to hang up really fast..actually, gives me a lump just typing about it. My tummy doesn't feel right and I sobbed through Brothers and Sisters last night! At least I am home alone for about an hour more and then I am going to lay down. I didn't sleep all night either. Sorry to be so weepy/creepy but you all said we could vent on here...so here is pity party me...venting.
I am thinking maybe I have been home for too many days. Tomorrow I get to go to the dentist for a cleaning and meet one of my best friends for lunch to so that will be making me much more cheerful and if not she is the kind of friend that will smack it out of me!!
DEEDEE; I love your imagination but if you want to resolve to make it better...yea for us to enjoy it. The main trouble is sometimes I don't know if your stories are real or imagination. Remember...I still believe the one about the husband dying from the toaster and don't ever tell me if that's not real!! :)
JANICE: Sorry you have to do all TINA'S work..that is enough to make you weepy too but then ypu are probably used to it by now.
SACBARB; I will dust you off with my duster if I can wobble over to you in those days to come.
Have a good afternoon and thanks for listening to me whine...think I will go and find some cheese to go with it (like any of you had any choice)! xxoo
DIANNE - You can find Yak Trax on QVC. Sending you a big 'ole (((hug))) from Wisconsin!! Do I have to send you more curds?!!? ;)
ReplyDeleteCAROL: I have been taking down the Christmas trees today..and that always puts me in a melancholy mood. Another year come and gone and I can't help but think of all the things that have changed over the last 12 months..and how they will have changed again by this time next year. I sometimes wonder why I worry about things at all..since life is so fluid and everyday brings something new..sometimes good..sometimes bad..but no day has a guarantee. That's why I really think my resolution this year has to be to stop worrying so much..have some fun and laugh more. I know I've made this resolution before..but I think 2010 is the year that I'll finally succeed in keeping it.
ReplyDeleteHi...I'm baaaaaack!
ReplyDeleteNow tell the truth you people that watch Brothers and Sisters....did you not get teary eyed on that show last night? It can't just be me...and I haven't even watched Desperate Housewives yet!
Sorry I was so boo hooing....to you all and thanks for the nice hug JODI. I am still having some alone time and I think that is helping me get my mind cleared and I have dinner done because I froze some when I cooked the last time so that is a good thing.
Have a good afternoon and night....Bachelor starts tonight and Biggest Loser tomorrow night and then the People Awards show on Wednesday..at least we are back to some good tv.
DIANNE: There's nothing wrong with boo-hooing...warm {{HUGS}} from this Raiders fan in AZ! :)
ReplyDeleteDEEDEE: Congrats on BAMMING into FIRST!
BARB: I really think you move around too much to get cobwebs..but just in case..I'll get my Swifter!
JODI: What's this about cheesecurds? ;)
SHIRLEY: Do you think Yax Trax would work on carpeting? ;)
GOLDIE: I hope your hubby feels better and you stay well! :)
DEEDEE: Third paragraph..priceless.. :)
ReplyDeleteTINA: I am loving the pic of George..I think it's time to bring back Hugh Grant though..don't you? ;)
Oh come on Zona can't we get someone who really is cute. I mean Hugh Grant and George Clooney...ewwwwwwww!They are old. Get a picture of a nice young stud like the polo player that was on Oprah last week. Now HE was good looking!!!
ReplyDeleteMy resolution is to make no resolutions! Whenever I did, I never kept them anyhow, so why start a new year off with failure?
ReplyDeleteZONA...You know I love ya, right? If I ever hear you say you love snow I may have to reach out and slap you in the head!! It hasn't stopped snowing since Friday!
DEE DEE...any more imaginative and I can't even imagine that! And I say you're never too old to fulfill your dreams...maybe one day you will still dance with the Alvin Ailey dancers!
GOLDIE...Hoping you don't catch the cruddies from hubby.
SHIRLEY...YAY!!
JANICE...does TINA pay you for doing her work for her? How's the new baby?
I did accomplish my weekend plans of not leaving the house! I didn't however eat my bag of chips for NYE. It took all weekend to finish them!
You guys really make Janice laugh~
ReplyDeleteZONA!!! NO HUGH....UGLY!!! EWWW...shirley is right.....but I'm gonna get her new glasses so she can get a better look at George....by tomorrow~ :)~
DeeDee Congrats on BAM, again! I loved your story! Have you ever written a screenplay? if not, you definitely should.
ReplyDeleteTina You've got handsome George right there....I don't know why you'd want to waste your time on a duck! LOL
LynnD Imagining DeeDee with more imagination is almost as mind-boggling as thinking about Tina and that duck!
Goldie Sorry that Mr. Goldie is sick. I sure hope you don't get it. LOL @ creeping through the day.
Jodi Good job at starting your day with something healthy and avoiding the call of the donuts.
SacBarb That was such a funny image of you being put in the corner, gathering dust! As much time as I sit here at the computer, I'm surprised I don't have cobwebs attached to me.
Shirley Yay for not falling! Thank you for QOTD. :)
Dianne I'm sending you a big (((HUG))). Your girls are developing busy social lives, full of various activities, but they will always love you. You know that.
Zona Are you worrying about not keeping your resolution to not worry? Do I see a vicious cycle in your future? ;)
MO Congrats on stretching out that bag of chips for the entire weekend. LOL
Janice Congratulations on becoming a grandma!
Carol Yes, it is back to business as usual now. The holidays are over and it is time to get back to all the tasks of everyday living. For me, that means back to watching my daily calorie intake. I regained 5 1/2 pounds over the holidays and have now dropped 2 of them and have 3 1/2 to go. Then I will be back on task.
JUST LIN...losing those 2 pounds so fast is awesome. You will get rid of the rest before you know it. Good job!
ReplyDeleteHelloooooo! I am alive! I have been nursing the cruds. I don't get sick often thank goodness! I decided to take a few friends advice and rest, rest, rest! I pretty much stayed in my bedroom with the humidifier and my tv for 2 days. I slept for hours! I am feeling much better today. I was told some have had this crap for weeks and even had return bouts! Crossing fingers I stay healthy!
ReplyDeleteCarol, no New Year's resolutions here. I have a few "cobwebs", but I figure if I forget something, it will come back to me or it just wasn't worth remembering lol!
Waving at yah all!! ( I am too weak to write all your names, that's my story and I am sticking to it!)
MO Thank you! I have quite a way to go, yet.
ReplyDeleteMary I'm glad to see you've made it out of the bedroom. Hope you continue to recover quickly.
MARY...let's all chant...cruds be gone, cruds be gone, cruds be gone...
ReplyDeleteDianne: I'm kind of with you today! Feeling blue. We had to come back from Palm Springs, for one thing, but I think my depression is more because the holidays are over for another year, and I'm back, far away from increasingly frail parents and close family and all the familiar trappings of Christmas as a child.
ReplyDeleteCarol, I've said it before... count your blessings that you are close to all of that even as an adult!
Hi Everyone..
ReplyDeletedid not read the comments sorry :(
I had a busy day @ work today, it has not been that busy since Aug 09, so I was very excited..
I then found out a good friend of the family has passed away, she is elder and has been sick, but, we were not expecting her to pass on. Her heart stopped and they could not revive her, she was in the hospital when this happen so I am sure they did all they good do.
She was alone tho, no family or friends with her. I have to only hope that she knew we were all there in spirit. She was loved my many, so it is quite sad. I will certainly miss her, I have known her all my life, as my mother grew up with her.. Even tho she was older than me, we had a connection, she was def my friend. We went to the families house tonite and reminisced, we also looked at some old photos. I came across one and had to look twice cause it was me and her and I did not recognize me... and yet I remember when the pic was taken, I was in my late 20's..
The arrangements for her burial will be planned tomorrow.. I shall be there to bid my friend goodbye, and leave her with all my love..
Nite everyone..
Bear (((HUGS)))
ReplyDeleteCarol (((HUGS))) I'm so sorry for your loss.
ReplyDeleteCAROL...I am so sorry for your loss. I'm sure she knew you loved her and yes, knew you were with her in spirit. My condolences to you and your family
ReplyDeleteWHABBY...I know how you feel. That was one of the major reasons I left California and returned to Cleveland. I didn't realize how much I missed my family.
ReplyDeleteAnd now, when it is blizzarding I have to remind myself that I chose to be here!!
Dianne Any time you want to w(h)ine, I'll bring the cheese. ;)
ReplyDeleteMO LOL Just keep repeating, "There's no place like home, there's no place like home".
DIANNE...what did ya think of the Bachelor? He is just too darn cute!
ReplyDeleteOh, and feel free to whine whenever you want to.
CAROL: I am really sorry about the loss of your friend. I am sure she is knowing that you were all there in her heart and nice you were all able to get together to remember fond memories.
ReplyDeleteBEAR; I will send a hug over to you too. I think it would be hard to be away from family. I have only had to experience that for six months of my long life and that was many years ago. It is very hard watching our parents get older and less able to do for themselves.
Thanks everyone for the hugs and cheese and I am back to bed. MO: I recorded the Bachelor so will watch it tomorrow. Night
Diane, I had the blues when my nieces went off to college. I was used to taking them shopping, going to their school functions, and just being around them. There older they get, the less I see of them. I know they are building their own lives/networks, so I try not to dwell on it too much. I am lucky that they call me and keep in touch with FB.
ReplyDeleteCarol, I always remember something Patrick Swazy said in his movie
"Ghost", "you take the love with you", so I believe she knew you were all with her in spirit,{hugs}}
Whabby, I know the feeling, but remember, you are only a plane ride away :)
Goodnight everyone. It feels good to feel good :)
ReplyDeleteNite to all the sweet lurkers too
Mary I'm glad you're feeling better. Keep getting your rest so you don't relapse.
ReplyDeleteMO I liked that bachelor from when he was on Bachelorette. He just seems like a really nice guy. And he looks real good in that pilot uniform, too. :)

ReplyDelete50
ReplyDeleteCAROL - I'm so sorry for your loss. (((hugs))) from Wisconsin!!
ReplyDeleteWHABBY - (((hugs))) 4 u 2!!!
SLIN - Way to go and thank you. Not really making a big deal out of it, just trying to make better choices!!
MARY - I'm sure it was my song that was the turning point for you!! ;)
MO - This storm you can't blame on me....it's been too freakin' cold here to snow!!!
ZONA - I know you can do it!! And if you don't there's always SNAP!!!
ReplyDeleteGood evening everyone.
ReplyDeleteShirley, Yay for you for not falling. And thanks for offering to clear my cobwebs with your super soaker.
Jodi, thanks to you too for offering to dust me.
Zona, I am slowing down lately, so it is entirely possible that I will collect those cob webs.
Dianne, Sorry you are feeling blue. If your friend doesn't smack it out of you, come back and we will be happy to oblige. jk
J/L, I agree about the Bachelor being a cutie. I missed most of the Bachelorette, so I didn't get invested in that show when he was on. He seems like a really nice guy. Did you watch that train wreck of a show after the Bachelor? It was awful. imo
Mary, I'm glad you are feeling better. Don't over-do or you may have a relapse.
Carol, So sorry about your friend. I'm sure she knew her friends were there in spirit.
Good night and sweet dreams to you all.
SacBarb No, I switched over to Intervention. I figured that would be less painful to watch.
ReplyDeleteSweet dreams, HOoters!
Sweet dreams SACBARB & SLIN!!
ReplyDeleteTime for me to go to work. ♥♥♥ u all!!!
CAROL: I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your friend..I'm sure she felt the love you all have for her and she is now smiling down at each and everyone of you {{Hugs}}
ReplyDeleteTINA: Ok..no Hugh for now..
SHIRLEY: Do you like the new avatar? :D
JODI: I made the first installment.. ;)
BARB: My virtual life and real life were blending into each other yesterday..I made spaghetti..and I made spaghetti..it was very strange.. ;)
J/LIN: No worries! :D
MO: I won't even tell you what our temps are going to be for the next few days...I'll try to send you some of that warmth..kay? :)
DIANNE: The Broncos won last night!! It was the Idaho Broncos..but we thought of you! :)
MARY: Glad to hear the crud has flown..fingers, toes and eyes crossed that it stays away for good!
BEAR: {{Hugs}} The older I get..the more the Christmas of today is taken over by memories of Christmas long ago..it can really be a time of confusing emotions.
Have a good one JODI!
ReplyDeleteZona: That's an interesting observation!
ReplyDeleteCarol: Hugs on the loss of your friend!
And yes, back to normal routine today. Work? Yep!
Tina: While "suck a duck" is clearly an attempt to reduce the crudity of the standard exclamation, I'm not sure you succeeded very well! LOL!
ReplyDelete
