Just some thoughts

I cannot get into the Olympics this year. I am not sure if it's my mood or I just find it boring. I have been looking forward to them for sometime now, and now that they are here, I find myself switching channels. I have also come to the conclusion that I like the Summer Olympics better. I think the events of the summer Olympics grab my interest more than the Winter Olympics. I do like figure skating tho, which I think starts the end of this week. So hopefully I will want to watch.

On a completely different subject. I must get something off my mind.

Tiger Woods! Oh my dear glory be, what is up will all the apologies? We all know by now he cheated on his wife several times. But in my humble opinion, that is between him and his wife. I know there is a certain image he must maintain to keep his endorsements for his level of play, but in this crazy world of money, another apology is not going to make a difference. He will certainly get his endorsements back and the support of his fans. President Clinton did, so why should Tiger be any different.

During his latest apology, he looked like a beaten man, and yes I am sure he feels so. His "speech" was well rehearsed and not from the heart. It was something he felt (or his people) he had to do to keep his image. If it were up to me, I would have told him enough with the apologies, work on your marriage and move on. The money, the image, the play is not going anywhere. Many men in his financial situation do the same exact thing, some get caught, and others don't, but most rebound. This is how our money world works. Sad but true.

So Enough, Please!

When I think back on all the high profile celebs, athletes etc., the only one that I can truly say that did not rebound was OJ Simpson. Simple fact, he murdered his wife as well as Ron Goldman and got away with it. He was never able to make money off himself again. It did come back to him tho, as he sits (and hopefully rots) in jail for a unrelated crime, all because he thought he was invincible.

  2. Congrats, DeeDee! Good morning, Hooters!

Carol, how nice to see you writing a blog again. I hope this means your life is calming down.

I've not been interested in the Olympics, wouldn't watch them on NBC if I was.

Tiger's none of my business. He's probably getting reamed at home. It takes nads to admit to the world you tried to have sex with half of it.

I truly wish for only the worst for O.J. I will be happy when we no longer have to supply that man with oxygen.

  3. Tina, you slipped in there. Aren't you supposed to be training people?

Carol, I meant to thank you for the geography lesson yesterday. I knew Xia and ACA were on the Pacific side and I assumed Dianne would be sailing in Pacific waters. I don't know why. Good that you're the travel person and not me.

  4. Dee.. congrats on BAM..

    Tina.. lol "where's pebbles"

Bonacci.. Things are a little calmer, but the stress is still there. I made a commitment to the night owls back in 08, so when we need a blog, I will provide one. No matter what the mood..
Thanks for asking, I appreciate it.

  7. Good Morning.....

OMG Carol....you certainly pushed a few of my buttons with what you said about Tiger Woods....and I will get to that devil OJ Simspson...

I happened to hear Tiger Wood on the Tv while visiting with a couple of friends....I could not believe the stupidity.....My ONLY interest in Tiger Woods is his amazing golf game.....certainly not a public flogging....and I don't care if he is boinking Sarah Palins husband and her daughter....thats none of my business.
If I had were Tiger Wood I would have said "my personal life is none of you peoples business and you can kiss my Nike balls!!
And hes only sorry he got caught! And he has plenty of money.....I would just buy a castle somewhere....fill it with grade A prime Man & Woman Booty and just make "holes in one" for the rest of my life.....I hear he swings both ways.....

And OJ Simpson.....that filth has been living in his own self imposed prison since his acquittal.....shunned by people with good sense.....I have a friend who witnessed a situation on United Airlines....the first class passengers were stunned to see OJ Simpson stroll into their cabin and take his seat....A man and his wife requested seating in another part of the aircraft and they let OJ know in no uncertain terms what they thought of him..... several more passengers followed suit and my friend...Paul...who was the SW (space waitress) serving him during the flight and said that he was very nice and a pleasure to have on board....WTF!! I told Paul if you were a good American you would have strapped him down and set him on fire!
Paul said that the airline takes a dim view of killing passengers and that an on board fire would have smelled up the entire plane....

I...like most people..have seen the pictures of what that monster did to Nicole and Ron......and I don't think he deserves any less....

Finally the Olympics....I enjoyed the Winter Games when Ross Mathews was on assignment in Torino...lol....he made it fun....

We are waiting for a snowstorm today....around noon I think....I know thats not exciting for those of you who have had so much snow...but its a big deal in south central Texas......big fun!!

  8. So if Dianne is not on the Pacific side of Mexico....wth is she!!??
Its an 8 day cruise to go as far south as Puerto Vallarta and back to LA......yes Tina...she left from LA......"Ah-Sooo".....

I love Acapulco....so beautiful......and yeah yeah yeah...I know what everyone says.......but ya gotta know where to hang out and who to hang out with.......I just like to stay home and look out over the bay....God its gorgeous......

  9. Afternoon hooters!
DeeDee, Congrats on the early "bammin'"

Carol,I like the winter Olympics, sometimes I even get over zealous and give the West coasters to much info. to early lol! Sorry about that guys, I will try to control myself from now on!

Don't get me started on Orenthal (sp) I refuse to besmirch my favorite drink (oj) with this piece of shit! I hope he has to sweat every time he drops his soap in the shower!!

Tiger?, well, I do think he could have picked an off Olympic time to bare his soul. I couldn't believe it when the network cut in during an Olympic program! I wish him & his family well, but I think his "coming out" just stirred the pot! My one peeve is the "ladies" he was with, who felt the need to "bare" their dirty laundry. I don't think cheating woman in my area would go on tv and admit to affairs! Simplistic I know but true just the same. A ho is a ho!

Carol, time to have positive thoughts. Think about spring and all it's glory :)
I have a couple of blogs ready to go. I will send soon.

  10. Ahh, well DeeDee I was thinking maybe she left from Galveston. I have taken a 7 or 8 day cruise down the Pacific side of Mexico several times. As far as I know, it's been called a Mexican Riviera cruise. But this is me. I am clueless with geography. I often don't know where I am. I naturally assumed I was misinformed as to where the Mexican Riviera was.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Is it any wonder that bad things have happened to the former Simpson defense team? Karma's a bitch.

    ReplyDelete
  12. OK...

the Mexican Riviera is the west coast.......all the way down to Angel......no matter how long you cruise or where you stop.....the new Queen Victoria was in Acapulco on this years world cruise...then up to LA and west to all that lies beyond.......so Zee-wanta-nay-ho is part of it as is Manzanillo and Cabo San Lucas......

Bon you are like my niece.....one year she was headed for Cairns and I asked her to point it out on a globe......it took her a while to find Queensland...and had no clue where Cairns was......I laughed and she said "THE PLANE KNOWS!!

And another time she was going to Italy and I told her that while in Florence that she must go and see David....she said..."you know someone in Florence named David?"

I said...wheres your ticket!!?? You are not going anywhere! You will get over there and embarrass this whole family!!

But its amazing what travel does to enlighten people.....when she returned she was so excited to tell me about Vatican City (a place she said she wouldn't set foot in) and how fantastic it was and that she had seen more of Michaelangelos work there.....lol

(she brought me one of those 6" souvenir replicas of David...omg)

I said ...what? He had other things??
She said....well to begin with the Pieta!! Then I let her go ahead and tell me about all of it just like I had never seen any of it.....she was really excited over it all.......and I thought...well finally...we just may have another world traveler here....so I asked her when she planned to return....

    "not in a million years"

  13. Good Afternoon!

CAROL: I really like the skiing events at the Olympics this year. I think it's because I'm actually watching the profiles NBC is doing on some of the athletes. I get more involved when I know something about what those competing have gone through to get to the Games. Bode Miller was so controversial 4 years ago..but he's settled down a little and seems so much happier this time around. It's a pleasure to see him win. It's a pleasure to see him in those tight blue pants. Thanks for that pic DEEDEE! ;)

I only caught a snippet of the Tiger Woods press conference. Truthfully, all I really heard was 'Blah blah blah'. Same ol' same old that you always hear when someone high profile gets caught with parts of their anatomy hanging out. Even Clinton. (there TINA, I said it!) These guys should spend the time repairing the damage they caused to their families..instead of making excuses to us. Right now..they need to begin the healing at home. The rest will follow.

I've always thought OJ killed Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. My mom watched the entire trial..which means I watched it too. When he smirked at the cameras..I just wanted to kick him one. I'm glad he's serving time now, even if it is on an unrelated charge. It just goes to show, you might get away with something now..but in the end..justice will bite you in the butt. I'm glad it took a big chunk out of OJ..ijs!

Wow..I got a little worked up there. I guess I do have strong opinions sometimes..lol..

    Great blog CAROL!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well, I'm with DeeDee's niece. It is the plane's job to know where I'm going, not mine.

    ReplyDelete
  15. DEEDEE: Congrats on diving into FIRST!

"He's just sorry he got caught"..Great observation..I think a lot of times that's just what it boils down to with all these guys.

LOL@ "You know someone in Florence named David?" I'm just as bad with geography..in fact, I got an atlas as a joke for Christmas a couple years ago..it was actually a good gift! :D

TINA: See above..as much as I like Clinton..I finally said it.. ;)

BONACHI: All I know about DI's cruise is she's going down that way and comin' back this way. ;) I bet she is having a blast!

MARY: I saw that comment on FB and I thought..uh oh..TINA's gonna git her..LOL! I didn't see the event so I was happy for the update! :D
    btw..I have been tracking a wayward flamingo..I'm gonna get him..when I do, I'll let you know! :)

SACBARB: I hope you're feeling better today!

MO: I haven't seen the weather reports..but I'm hoping the snow is taking a break!

Well, Mr Z has another appt with the hand doctor this afternoon. Address..check. Dr's phone number..check. Money for parking garage..check. I think we're ready this time. :D

    Have a wonderful afternoon everyone!!

  16. DeeDee~ I've always thought that American's should be given a test before being allowed out of the country to represent us~ Obviously, Bonachichi shouldn't be going anywhere~ ijs~ :D

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yeesh, Tina. When you don't have time to find out about where you're going, you trust what you hear. When you hear a country has cannibals, the question, "Do you eat people here?", seems perfectly appropriate to me.

  18. Afternoon or evening Glories!

Well first off I am typing completely stoned so bare with me.

Carol I think part of the problem is how they are coverying the Olympics the last few years. It used to be that we would get full coverage not this pick and choose bullshit that they think will boost their rating or at least keep them the same. imjs I keep wondering how we will keep younger generations interested and wish and want and dream to be the next Olympian when it just seems like a non event. It really irritates the holy hell out of me.

Now Tinger woods that is just freaking irritating the man owes me no apology. He cheated on his wife it is between them. As far as the other idiots I mean women who slept him. He owes them nothing. They knew he was married HELLO!

His sponsers yeah maybe. Like sacbarb said the other day maybe the kids who hero worship him. But face it. He just got caught and we have to hear about it endlessly.

I have to confess it was riveting to keep watching these women pop up on TV saying they did him. It was like watching whack a ho!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Now the reason I am stoned. I finally went to the doctor today because every freaking body was freaking nagging me. Crap you think because I walk like a crone with cramps and limp that it is some great disaster around here. I can move!

Anyway. Tested me for UTI or bladder infection. Negative. Buttttttttt it seems I may have kidney stones. I knew on occasion I have giant stones...I just did not realize the drop from my kidneys.

So they have drugged me and tell me to drink a bunch of liquids and I have to have an Ultra Sound check. Really how urgent is it if I have to wait until the freaking 3rd of mardch brfore I can get in for that???

They did stress that if I have anymore intense pain to take my ass right into urgent care or the emergency room.

Oh and they did more blood work to make sure my white blood count is not elevated. I did find out from the blood sucker, I mean blood taker that I have juicy veins! I swear to god that is what she said. Kind of creeped me out.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ok now I have my water to flush and hydrate I must go tend my farms. Damn cows don't care how I feel.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh and I got a freaking lecture on my damn blood pressure and they upped my medication for that too. I hate doctors.

    ReplyDelete
  22. But I have lost 20 lbs since last year. Must be the high blood pressure burning colories.

    ReplyDelete
  23. LynnD, I'm sorry to hear you've not been well. I guess since you're stoned you don't really care that you've not been well right about now.

I saw on FB that Jodi's been under the weather, too. Goldie & Mr. Z sound like they've been on the mend, but my heart goes out to them as well. I hope everyone who's sick can get better soon.

    ReplyDelete
  24. CAROL...I am surprised at how much I have enjoyed the Olympics this year. I have always liked the summer games and the figure skating in winter, but the rest not so much. Maybe because I always had cable in the past, that I had many other options. I have been really enjoying the snowboarders, aerialists, speed skaters, ice skaters, ski jumpers, mogulists and lugers. I never saw Ross at Torino because I never really got into the Winter games.

OJ is just a piece of turd that has finally gotten his due. He is a double murderer...period.

TIGER is a scum bucket, but a talented golfer. It shouldn't be a reflection of his talent, but it should serve to teach people that celebs are not the people to idolize. Enjoy their talents and then idolize the people that really make a difference in your life...like parents, teachers, clergy or other "real" people.

    ReplyDelete
  25. LYNN...I am sorry you have been feeling so poorly. Keep drinking those liquids to flush out the stones. Hmmmm, wonder if Vodka counts? LOL! Feel better, dear one.

ZONA...hope the appointment went well. We are not having any appreciable snow...a flurry here and there. We have been having freezing rain at night, but thankfully clear by the time I have to commute to work. Supposedly there is a front coming in on Thursday...yick!

  26. Who can explain Curling to me? Near as I can tell, one guy gently pushes a shiny cement block whilst staring intently at it. Then two other guys sweep the ice or whatever it is they're running around on with little brooms. I don't get it, but they sure can sweep.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Holy crap! Nevermind about the Curling. They really do sweep the ice! Am I the only one who finds this funny?

    ReplyDelete
  28. DeeDee: Congrats on first.

Carol: I had the opportunity to meet O.J. Simpson quite a few years back. It was unusual and my daughter met him too. When we left the function and went to the grocery store, she pointed out he was on the front page of the tabloids. He used to ALWAYS come for Derby.

So Tiger was a Cheetah..he just got confused on his colors! haha...no wait, he was a LION CHEETAH.

  29. There was a restaurant in Louisville that refused to serve OJ when he came to town. The owner asked him to leave. He did.

  30. What did you all think of Idol tonight? I really think these girls are good (well, some of them).

  35. Lynn, I agree about the Olympics, I feel like that are putting pieces together.. I was waiting all evening for the woman's ice skating and it went on at 11p.. how the heck am I suppose to enjoy it when I am so tired..

Sorry you are not feeling well, it seems you have juicy veins tho, I would think a vampire might think you are hot in a sexy wanna suck your blood kinda way!

  44. I am confused.. where exactly did Dianne go, what ports was she visiting does anyone know.. oh wait she wrote a blog..

    ReplyDelete
  45. She did say Mexican Riviera, but it depends on what port she left from, if she left from LA.. she is doing the ACA route, if she left from FL she is doing the Yucatan route..

I guess we will have to wait and see when she gets back.. then we can grill her.. :O)

    ReplyDelete
  46. I am getting sleepy.. so off I go..

    See ya all tomorrow..

Thanks for the comments on the blog..

  47. Di~ took American Airlines to LAX on Sunday.....first stop is Cabo...then to Mazatlan....then to Puerto Vallarta....then back to LA on Sunday and back on AA to DEN~

  48. I think the cruise lines have been calling it Mexican Riviera when the stops are on the Pacific Ocean. I did one of those cruises and that's what they callerd it regardless of the actual stops.

  49. I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. My computer is running really slow for some reason and I find it terribly annoying. I have been reading the blogs and enjoying them and everyone's comments.

My son was granted temporary custody of his 2 kids but the judge wants thwm to attend their same school. Problem is that the school is across the bay and takes about one and a half hours to commute to. There is no longer a home for them over there so this is really unsatsfactory. Hopefully, his lawyer will get he judge to understand that.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Here I am sneaking on computer at 1:30 AM. MrD is down in the computer so I am sure he is losing more money than I am spending. I just came on to check emails from kids and then accidently went to the blog and read. I am not going to FB and my GD is doing my farming.

TINA is exactly right where i am. No snow here ... owls. Today was our first port in Cabo and it was beautiful. Now most of you know that I don't like heat but it was perfect and we took a whale watching trip and the breeze and sun were beautiful.

We are at a dinner table with ten people and they are all from Canada and a very nice group. CAROL, MrD and I are missing the Olympics as we watched them every night.

Tomorrow we are going to Matzalan and today I took my little scooter and it was so nice to wander some places with it...like Senor Frogs...I have been drinking lots more than I usually do and last night while my husband was in casino, I was at the piano bar sitting at the piano singing My Wild Irish Rose and having a marg and I was sober.

I am thinking of blogs while on this trip as things remind me of something to write about. I still like MRD although it has been touch and go a time or two but really he is behaving so far...but remember it's only day 3!!!

Ok, need to get off and go to room before he gets there...he is probably there and asleep.

One more thing, tonight's show was Ricky Nelson's twin sons. They have cut their hair and are 41 years old now. It was a tribute to their dad and there were lots of films from the Ozzie and Harriet show. It brought back tons of memories hearing those old songs. I used to have a poster of Ricky on my bedroom wall.

Ok, have to go for sure now or I might be pushed overboard...Miss all of you and Lynn...get well.

    xxoo
