When Negative People are trying their best to RAIN ON YOUR PARADE

by Dianne

This is something to think about when negative people are doing their best to rain on your parade. Remember this story the next time someone who knows nothing and cares less tries to make your life miserable.

A woman was at her hairdresser's getting her hair styled for a trip to Rome with her husband. She mentioned the trip to the hairdresser, who responded:  "Rome? Why would anyone want to go there? It's crowded and dirty.  You're crazy to go to Rome. So, how are you getting there?"

"We're taking Continental," was the reply. "We got a great rate!"

"Continental?" exclaimed the hairdresser. "That's a terrible airline. Their planes are old, their flight attendants are ugly, and they're always late. So, where are you staying in Rome?"

"We'll be at this exclusive little place over on Rome's Tiber River called Teste."

"Don't go any further. I know that place. Everybody thinks it's gonna be something special and exclusive, but it's really a dump."

"We're going to go to see the Vatican and maybe get to see the Pope."

"That's rich," laughed the hairdresser. "You and a million other people trying to see him. He'll look the size of an ant. Boy, good luck on this lousy trip of yours. You're going to need it."

A month later, the woman again came in for a hairdo. The hairdresser asked her about her trip to Rome.

"It was wonderful," explained the woman, "not only were we on time in one of Continental's brand new planes, but it was overbooked, and they bumped us up to first class. The food and wine were wonderful, and I had a handsome 28-year-old steward who waited on me hand and foot. And the hotel was great! They'd just finished a $5 million remodeling job, and now it's a jewel, the finest hotel in the city. They, too, were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us their owner's suite at no extra charge!"

"Well," muttered the hairdresser, "that's all well and good, but I know you didn't get to see the Pope."

"Actually, we were quite lucky, because as we toured the Vatican, a Swiss Guard tapped me on the shoulder, and explained that the Pope likes to meet some of the visitors, and if I'd be so kind as to step into his private room and wait, the Pope would personally greet me. Sure enough, five minutes later, the Pope walked through the door and shook my hand! I knelt down and he spoke a few words to me."

"Oh, really! What'd he say?"

He said: "Who fucked up your hair?"

  10. So I had a surgical procedure on Thursday that required I come home that same day with urinary catheter still in place and urine bag attached to my leg and what seemed like 5 miles of packing in my vagina. Yesterday I was able to get everything removed and can I just say "What a relief!". I am still sore from the surgery but at least I don't have to sit side saddle anymore and don't have to were my urine on the outside of my body.

  13. MO I hope you didn't hurt yourself. I fell in public on Wednesday evening. I was in a rush to get to my Curves class which was having Zumba that night. I tripped when stepping up over the curb. Stubbed the toe of my shoe and went down hard and fast onto hands and knees. Then I rolled over on my back and exclaimed to no one, "God, that hurt!". Some kid on a bike came over to see if I was okay and if I needed help. I was okay to get up unaided but it's nice to know there are still young people out there who are kind to the elderly.

  15. Dianne, That was too funny. I do know a negative Nancy who turns everything into a bad situation. I try very hard to avoid her. She is such a downer. I figure she is just a very unhappy person and prescribes to the 'misery loves company' theory.

MO: Yea, you get three days off in a row and the sun is shining. I told you I was sending you sunshine. They are telling us snow tomorrow night but they have been saying that for weeks now so we shall see. I wouldn't mind some while we are having such warm weather.

TINA AND MARY: Glad you are both home and had wonderful vacations. We missed you while you were gone. Thanks for keeping the blog up, TINA.

ITEACH: Have you gone to the hotel with the kids yet? That sounds like such a fun thing to do and I am sure the kids love it.,

J/L: I am glad you are feeling better. I would be interested to know that procedure (I will call soon) as I may have to face that surgery eventually too.

SACBARB; I don't like negative people like that either although I am a half empty glass kind of person, I do try to be positive. It's just about myself that I am half empty...lol

ZONA: How was that picnic and speech today for Randy? I know you are so sad to miss the picnic. Don't start singing Rain On MY Parade now...Miss Barbra!

CHICHI: Where are you? Still in California? Your adventures have slowed way down lately. Remember, we live through your exciting life!!

Thanks again for the comments and all the little owls on here and missing tonight are doing great.
