I Confess

I saw this performance by k.d.Lang and the Siss Boom Bang on The Tonight Show the other night and I just loved it. I think she has one of the best voices out there today, no question. This song is from her new cd, "Sing It Loud"

    For those of you who didn't see the White House Correspondents Dinner last night let me just say O M G !

    Watch the vid of Obamas talk and Seth Meyers....

    I have no idea why...but that idiot Donna Trump had the nerve to faniggle a ticket thru the Washington Post...he not only attended but he brought his triple D cup wife-whore...

    Obama and Seth Meyers heaped public humiliation on him that was jaw dropping...

    I was so thrilled...he needs to be humiliated right off the planet...during the fun he looked as though he would explode!!

    You have to the see the tape...which every major news outlet is running...its so funny...

    Seth Meyers made one jab that went like this....

    "Donald Trump says he is a friend of the blacks.....well unless the blacks are a white family named Black I doubt it!"

    that was followed by raucous laughter and applause.....and I think I saw steam coming out the Donalds ears...

    He brought it on himself and he deserved all of it and more...

    You DO NOT look like Donald Trump nor do you sound like him. I can't stand him. If he comes on the tv I turn it off. The way he treated Marla Maples, divorcing her and then declaring bankruptcy was disgraceful. She got so little from him and she had that beautiful daughter Tiffany to raise.

    Just_Lin - Thank you for the video. I just love K.D. Lang. Not only is she, along with Celine Dion, one of our few famous Canadian singers, she is also, in my opinion, a great singer. She sang "Hallellujah" at the opening ceremonies at the 2010 Olympics. I thought it was wonderful.
    My sister and I saw her in concert here about 15 years ago. It is one of my favourite memories of times with my sister.

    I'm in a pissy mood today, so I think I will go to my place of solace...my library. I have been trying to get into a book I took out 2 weeks ago and can't seem to, so I think I will give in and return it. Or settle into one of the cozy club chairs and give it another try. Then of course watch the SMV and look for the Corresondents dinner on you tube.

    Maureen...so you take seat covers to the library like I do to the theater?

    Or do you just wear something you can burn upon returning home?

    I have a real phobia of places where "the people" have walked...sat...or handled things...or wherever I might see them digging at their heads...

    And a box of latex gloves in the car is invaluable! And those Glad lawn bags..the huge ones....? I have those in the trunk and if I ever feel just totally threatened I just get in one of those and cinch it up around my face until the danger has passed.....

    I just saw the funniest thing...I was outside with Belle and she is constantly watching for squirrels...

    the squirrels are usually watching her too and run up a tree when she charges after them....

    but a minute ago...I guess this squirrel was preoccupied with its nuts or something because Belle was almost on top of it before he realized it....

    the squirrel screamed and threw its nuts straight up in the air then shot up the tree in the nick of time....

    soo entertaining....lol

    Last week I spent $20 on a fake squirrel. I just knew Belle would have a fit over it....I saved it until she was feeling better...I gave it to her yesterday.....or I should say I posed it on the rail of the back deck...when she walked outside...well she actually walks to the door then races around it to "surprise" anything that might be on the deck getting a drink or food....

    anyway she got out there and the coast was clear then she noticed the fake squirrel on the rail....she got up in a chair...sniffed it and looked at me like...phfffft! ....and continued on her hunt for live squirrels...

    It can be a thankless job sometimes and I think she sensed my disappointment...so later she did grab it and chewed one of its eyes off.....

    Cute story Michael. We have a lot of squirrels here. Tango and Tia and my cat Teddy love chasing them. The squirrels are cute but they eat all my birds seeds. We think we are putting up a bird feeder that the squirrels can't get to but they are pretty smart.

    Okay, so I was seen by a doctor today. It appears that I have an infecterd salivary gland. I am now on a combo of antibiotics, am supposed to apply warm compresses to the swollen area, and she showed me how to try to "milk" the gland. Yuck!

    And if you'll notice I didn't get a nibble until 4:26pm!!

    Its a wonder that I didn't scream it again before anyone noticed...

    Michael You have cracked me up, big time, today. In the trunk of your car, along with the latex gloves and large garbage bags, I hope you aren't also carrying a shovel. That could look very bad if a cop ever looked in there.

    I enjoyed your squirrel story. Our dog is also vexed by the squirrels. In the house and clear across the room, if I whisper "squirrel", the dog runs over to look out the picture window. Sometimes, the dog will be laying out on the deck at the top of the stairs and a squirrel will come running up the bannister. Just as it gets to the point where it is on the rail above the dog, the dog will be trying frantically to get up and turn towards the rail in time, just as the squirrel has thrown itself into the willow tree branches. The dog will stand on her back legs with front paws on the railing and look on as the squirrel goes higher and higher. The squirrel is clearly taunting the dog.

    Its my fault but Belle thinks that squirrels are called "bunny rabbits".....

    During the winter when there is an abundance of cottontails....she learned bunny rabbit....so now if I say squirrel she just looks at me....if I say bunny rabbit she goes en pointe...

    Michael I am sitting here putting hot compress on my "goiter". But to answer your question, the dog is a female pit bull, almost 2 years old. When she moved in here (with my son) a little over a year ago, she was terrified of the 19 and 20 yr old cats that I had. Now there is only one kitty, the youngster, who is now 20 and she and the dog, Ursula, are best friends and sleep together on the Ursula's bed.

    Good Evening Owls. I was out all day and I haven't listened to the SMV but I'm sure I would like it because I like jd lang.

    I didn't feel well when I got home and I went to bed for a while, but I woke up just in time to hear the President. I echo all your comments. I have to go back to bed because I think I've got some kind of flu bug and I feel awful. Maybe I'll get over it by morning.
