Heaven on the 7th Floor

by Zona

Randy and I got my sister an Ipod for Christmas. She mentioned during the summer that she wanted one..and that she would like 70's songs loaded onto it. A couple days before Christmas Randy sifted through his CD collection..which is heavy on the 70's stuff..and together we picked out a bunch of songs for her. Rand put the songs on the Ipod so when she unwrapped her gift..it was ready to go. Well..it turns out we didn't do so well with our choices!! Here's one of the songs I chose for her...oh boy did she hit the DISLIKE on this!! It might be a bit corny..but I still don't understand why she doesn't like it! btw..I was so tempted to sneak 'Don't Rain On My Parade' on there..but didn't want that new Ipod to get stomped into the ground.. ;D

Really First?

Morning Glories!

I wonder why she would react so to this song. She must have a bad memory associated with it,that would be my guess.

I think it is a fine song and always sing along with it when it comes on the radio.

I am barely awake and have not had any coffee yet. So when I read area 51 I swear J/L told us all to have wet dreams.

Good Morning Lynn - Congrats on being first this Sunday morning. I am only half awake too. I can hardly see the screen but I wanted to say "Hi".

Good morning LYNN and TINKA!

LYNN...I thought the exact same thing about JUST LIN'S post in A-51!!

Zona - I like the 70's songs but for some reason I don't remember this one. It's a catchy tune. Randy can put it on my Ipod. How many did he load? I have mostly Elvis and 50's and 60's on mine. I love my ipod in the car and on a plane. That's the only time I use it. When I would go on my daily walks I would like to listen to the birds singing or hear who was driving up behind me.

Thanks for sharing the song. It is helping me to wake up.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Good Morning Maureen - You flew in while I was typing. I must go back to area 51 and read what Just_Lin wrote.

good morning ladies....

this song made me think back to those disco days. I used to buy these Italian shirts called Nik Nik...

I have always remembered those shirts....they were "the thing" at the time.....so I googled them...and they are sold as vintage now and go for quite a price!

One comment at one site I found said only the rich fancy guys had them. lol...best I can remember they were in the neighborhood of $70 to $100....I may have been fancy but I certainly wasn't rich!!

And of course I wouldn't be caught dead in one of those things now but back then they were wonderful. My favorite one had the tail of a DC-10 on the front....I wish I had kept them....

I am sure I wore it while doing the hustle and the bump. OMG how embarrassing....

Hey, Lynn, Tinka, Zona, Michael, and 'weenie! Zona, I don't remember that song either. Must be the "Canada Content" rule that's been in place up there for years, which mandates 30% of the play list on Canadian radio stations must be by Canadian artists. I never agreed with that, and still don't.

LynnD Congrats on first and being the shiniest and prettiest today. LMAO @ wet dreams. I'll keep that in mind next time.

Zona Really? Oh, my. I don't think there is a Dislike button large enough. I can sure see why your sister did not have this in mind.

Just_Lin said...

Tinka I agree. It is best to be able to hear what is going on around you when you are out for a walk. I'm very fond of the music from the 60's, too. And Elvis. : )

MO You and Tinka are making me go back to A51 and look at my own comment. LOL

Just_Lin said...

Michael I was never into the Hustle, really, but I thought the Bump was a lot of fun.

Just_Lin said...

Bear I've never heard of that either. Very interesting. Sometimes, very late at night, I catch reruns of a Canadian TV show, "Da Vinci"s Inquest", which I really like a lot.

Tina Don't know why Michael wants you to look at his avatar. Be afraid, very afraid.

Whabbear - Good to see you. I have missed you.
Thank you for reminding me of the Canada Content law. I had the radio on constantly in the 70's and I don't remember that song.

Tina - Yes there is a Man Date and it is sometimes very annoying. For example when we watch the Super Bowl today we do not get to watch the commercials that everyone discusses around the water bottle the next day. There are Canadian ads substituted for the American ones. They are never interesting.

Michael - Do you have a picture of yourself in one of those neat shirts? I would love to see it.

Tinka said...

Tina - I think I am a few years late in having "Sexy and I know it" on my ipod. Where did the last few years go?

Zona---I'm with ur sister on this one. Never heard of this song I wonder what station played it---maybe none!! :)

Not much going on around here today. I'm missing football. Will probably watch the pro bowl later but too interested in it. We don't even have Super Bowl plans for the first time ever. Will have to find something to do to replace football

Hope everyone is doing well today

Just_Lin - Some of the Canadian shows are good but I think 99% of our talented people (and we have quite a lot of them) take off for the States as soon as they are old enough to travel alone.

Hi!

Thanks for the comments on my blog today..I was surprised most of you hadn't heard the song before..it was #6 on Billboard in Nov. of 1977and ended up being #31 for the year..it even beat out 2 Fleetwood Mac songs off the Rumors album!! I'm not surprised however that most of you didn't really like it..lol..

LYNN: Yes..really! I think the only song my sister associates with a bad memory is "Don't Rain On My Parade"..the bad memory is ME singing it.. :D

MO: Hope the sun stuck around! :)

TINKA: Rand put almost 200 songs on the Ipod..only a dozen or so were rejected..including another one of my favorites..Chic-a-Boom! :D

MICHAEL: The EPBB?? :D

BEAR: Awww maaan..you guys missed out on some classic disco back in the day.. :D

TINA: Oh c'mon Miss Friday Night Disco..that's a gooooood song!! ;D

J/LIN: Be very afraid indeed..I don't even need to enlarge the avatar..j/s.. ;D

DI: I have the 45!! :D

Randy and I saw "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" today. It was excellent!! I teared up a couple times..but I didn't really cry. I'm thinking it was because I was warned it was a sad movie..so I was prepared..if that makes sense??

I agree with TINA, DI and JODI..if you get a chance go see it!! :)

I think I'm going to listen to this song one more time and then be-bop off to bed..G'night everyone..sweet dreams!! :)

Sweet Dreams to you too Zona and to all the little owls in our cozy nest.

Sweet dreams, HOoters. And if anybody has wet dreams, I don't want to hear about it.
