Day 2 of our cruise was spent at sea. We each spent it however we wanted. Since I got a little burnt in St. Thomas, I tried to mostly stay out of the sun. I found a shady spot in the adult only section at the front of the ship where I could read my book in peace. It was so nice. That night, we went to see the comedy show. Happy Cole was hilarious. He had me laughing until I was crying. After the show, hubby and I went to the O2 club (for the 15-17 yr old crowd) to find the twins and check in with them. Hubby went in while I stayed outside and who did I run into but Happy Cole. He asked if I had a child in there and I told him I had twins and I asked him if he had a child in there and he said no. He is dating one of the girls that works there and was waiting for her to get off work. Hubby came out and reported on the twins and the three of us continued talking.....about living in Utah....working on a ship....being Catholic in Utah....having kids in college. He was a really nice man. Very serious and sweet. It was a bummer that he would only be performing one more night and then they would be getting new comics. He performed new material that was just as funny~
I liked this bit better, but I wasn't able to post the video on blogger so you'll have to copy the link~ :D

ReplyDeleteThis Day in History: July 26, 1952 Eva Peron, wife of the president of the Argentine Republic, dies from cancer at age thirty-three.
60 years later they had quite a blow-out in Buenos Aires for Evita...loved by the poor...hated by the rich...

She has always fascinated me...
Tina that guy was kinda scary...but mildly amusing... still wish I could have been on the trip too....
ReplyDeleteThe last few days have been really rough for me and they seem to be getting worse. This cancer is really taking its toll...
My sister has located a nursing facility in Texarkana that has met all my demands...lol....and I really want to reconnect with them before I die.
So...mid August I will most likely be in Texarkana for the duration.
One of my demands was internet and that won't be a problem...they even agreed to the wall installation of my 60" television and my furnishing the room as I see fit with my own things...such as furniture and art...and draperies.
WELL! It has to be pretty!!
I have also spoken to my friend who directs the drag shows at the local Cha-Cha Palace about bringing in some real entertainment for the other residents!!!
As with all places I have lived I want to leave a lasting impression!!
Michael You are looking splendid today. Eva Peron was a fascinating figure. Did you ever get the chance to see Evita performed on staqe? It is probably my all time favorite.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that the days are getting harder for you. The facility in Texarcana sounds perfect for you and it is good to hear you are reconnecting with your family. I'm so glad you will still be connected to the internet, too. That's a very large TV to be in the room. It will be like being in a theater. Perhaps they will make theater popcorn for you, too.
Nothing lifts the spirits like a good drag show!
ReplyDeleteTina Thanks for the laughs this morning. I love a good comic.
ReplyDeleteMichael~ That's a huge tv...is everything of yours huge???~
ReplyDeleteJ/L~ glad you laughed....he really was funny~
I have to git my butt outta bed....today it the only day I go out and buy a card...for some reason....I have too much trouble making an anniversary card for the hubby so I buy one~ Tomorrow is 22 years.....we both werk....and we plan on doin' nothin'....my kinda day~ :D
Tina Sleep in much? ;)
ReplyDeletelmbo J/L~ Actually.....some dying old butthead woke me up at 10:15am~ I just didn't want to git outta bed~ :D
ReplyDeleteJ/L....
ReplyDeleteI can't remember how many times I have seem Evita performed. But it is many times...
It came here in the 80's and I bought the entire 16th row and had a large "cocktails and hors d' oeuvres" thing before the show. Everyone got limos and wore gowns and tuxs...it was quite a night!
In 1994 I was here visiting and Evita was coming back to A&M and Lisa asked me if I remembered when I.....lol
I said...REMEMBER! I AM STILL PAYING FOR THAT!!
Tina, Thanks for the laughs. He is really funny.
ReplyDeleteMichael, Will you be able to take Belle with you to Texarkana? The place sounds very nice and I'm sure the other residents will appreciate the 'entertainment.' I, too, have seen Evita many times on the stage and it is one of my faves. I even loved the movie and I think Madonna did an excellent job, even though she was snubbed by the Academy.
J/L, I just got home from your neck of the woods. One of my Jennifers needed a ride to her doctor appointment today and then at the last minute her sister, who lives in San Francisco, had to go into the hospital and Jen asked me to take her to SF to get her sister's dog. Soooo, we make a not-so-quick (6 hours) round trip, that only should have taken us 3 hours. We went via the Golden Gate cause her sis lives right past there, but we had stop and go traffic both ways. Sheesh!
I missed the opening of the Olympics and got home just as the "M" athletes were entering the stadium. However, I did set my DVR, so I will watch it later. I am very excited about the Olympics. I love the swimming and the gymnastic events.
Michael What a fabulous night that must have been and expensive, too.
ReplyDeleteSacBarb Well, that was an interesting trip you took. Long and I bet tiring.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the Olympics, too.
