Chuckle of the Day

by Dianne

The priest decided to do something a little different.
He said 'Today, in church, I am going
to say a single word and you are going to
help me preach
.

Whatever single word I say,
I want you to sing whatever hymn
that comes to your mind --
the pastor shouted out
'CROSS.'

Immediately the congregation started
singing in unison,
'THE OLD RUGGED CROSS.'

The pastor hollered out 'GRACE.'
The congregation began to sing
'AMAZING GRACE, how sweet the sound.'

The pastor said 'POWER.'

The congregation sang

'THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD.'

The Pastor said

'SEX'
The congregation fell into total silence.
Everyone was in shock.
They all nervously began to look around at each other
afraid to say anything.

Then, all of a sudden, from way in the back of
the church, a little old 87 year old grandmother
stood up and began to sing
'MEMORIES.'

  2. Good Morning Zona - my beautiful one. I don't know why I am up either. It is so dark.

Dianne - That story was really cute. Thanks for sharing. It's wonderful to hear you are getting stronger each day. Soon it will all be a memory.

Breakfast time and then time to start decorating for Halloween. I am late this year.

    Have a great day everyone.

  3. Hi. Thanks for the well wishes I don't feel, like I've been getting better and I'm not very happy here. Last night they ran out of my pain pills and dropped my food tray and said they were out of the lunch tray. They were able to make a sandwich.

I need to not write much as I'm not feeling too chipper today.

  6. Tinka I've not decorated for Halloween yet, either. I better start thinking about that.

  7. Dianne Well, crap! That is totally unacceptable! WTF? Running out of your pain pills? It's not like they didn't know they were getting low. And the food situation not right, either. Do they have outside caterer providing the food or do they have their own kitchen? Can you transfer to a different facility?

  8. Zona I forgot to mention how lovely you look today. Is it getting to be fall there, yet? We are having another little heat wave. It's still morning and it is 80*.

Last night, Lani and I both heard a very loud BOOM. It was a meteor entering our atmosphere! I wish I would have seen it streaking across the sky.

  9. JL-- it's not acceptable. I talked to their dr today and he said to hang in there. They have their own kitchen so today I had pb&j. My friend helper lady just cleaned my room and made my bed. She told me she's my little chocolate drop and hugged me :). I cried

  10. Dianne, This made me laugh, but I can certainly identify with the old broad. :-)

I can't imagine how they could run out of any medication for a patient. I would certainly complain to whatever agency governs the skilled facilities in your state. Plus they should give you a discount for the stress that and the food situation put you through. I am so sorry this has not been a good experience for you. Maybe you should look into moving to another one, like J/L said.

  11. Zona, You are looking smashing in first today. And why ARE you up so early?

Tinka, Now that I don't have kids or a husband here, I don't decorate for holidays anymore, except Christmas. In the past, though, I really went all out for every holiday and loved doing it.

J/L, I missed the show in the sky last night, too. I guess a lot of people that saw it thought it was something alien and flooded the news stations with phone calls. BTW, we are having warm weather, too. It will be in the 80's here all week. :-(

  12. Dianne (((We are having a big group orgy hug right now.)))

Running out of your meds is the most ridiculous thing I've heard of. They should have at borrowed or bought some from another agency, hospital, pharmacy, until their shipment came in.

Also, sorry I failed to thank you for the blog today. I thought it was from Barb for some reason.

  13. Good evening feathered friends.

    DIANNE...I'm sorry about the problems you are having at the rehab center. Just do your thing in spite of them and get so strong you can get outta there sooner then later. {{{hugs}}}
