  4. Tina that was hilarious! Thanks for the laugh! I know you are enjoying your family being together this week.

Jodi,Congrats to Jake! Sorry about you cold shower. I only take one after seeing Bon J perform lol!
Lions whooped the Packers :) It was worth freezing my tassels lol!@

Barb, 80 cards wow! I hope I remain on your list :) Last year the money you sent must have fallen out, make sure to tape it down this year Bwah ha ha ha!!

JL, no robe here. I shower and jump into my cloths. I then change again if I go out somewhere because I always spill or stain my tops, even with an apron!

Dianne, I can't believe you are already wrapping gifts! You sure are organized!

I made a big meal, walked the dog after dinner and crashed for a few hours! Now it's just me and the dog wide awake lol! I am going to do a little shopping tomorrow, but not in the a.m. Hopefully the crowds will die down and the parking will be easier!

I sure miss Audrey in here :(
Enjoy the rest of the weekend all!

  5. MARY. - We ate at halftime and I passed out after that. Glad I didn't watch the rest of that game. I hear it was pretty ugly. And yes, I can confirm that u don't use a robe. Just a towel and a smile ;-)

  6. Happy Thanksgiving. I started my cards today while watching the parade. I've never done them this early.

We went to my daughters for a nice dinner. They had ham, turkey and prime rib for only ten of us.

Brr....I don't like cold showers for any reason. Don't forget to make that call today, Jodi. U r right, your game was not pretty.

Mary, I must have received your money last year in Barbs card because it was a lot....more than she usually sends. Oh well, it went to good use.

Jl..Did you make your dinner tonight? How was it?

Barb, your raiders look like they were going to beat the Cowboys for awhile but then not so much. They did what we did last weekend....lost in the second half.

My granddaughters were going shopping late tonight and were very excited. One was going with a friend the other with dad and he wasn't too excited.

Hope you all had a good day.

  7. When I checked my phone yesterday, I had no idea that there was a video!!! Freakin' hilarious! School children will be confused and think that yams will last 8 nights? Bwahahaha!! And his hand menorah...priceless!! TINA thanks for posting this...love u 4 ♥

    ReplyDelete
  8. DIANNE - Trust me, I will NOT forget to make that call. I have an alarm set on my phone to do it during break today!! We REALLY need Rodgers back, and it would be nice if the defense would show up, too!!! UGH!!! Glad you had a good day at your daughter's house! I was hoping to get a family pic today, but Sam didn't get off of work as early as she wanted to and didn't come out to her Grandparent's house. Time to get creative. I told her to get a nice shot of her and Nate and email the pic to me. I will take a pic of the boys and one of Paul and I. Walmart has a lot of nice options for cards with multiple pics.

  9. Dianne I did make my dinner and it was fine. Since it was just me this year, I only made a turkey breast. I don't think it was a good as it would have been had it not been frozen for 12 months but it was good. A friend dropped off some of her creamed broccoli for me on the way to her son's house. Now that was fabulous! One of the best parts about turkey dinners is the leftovers and I have plenty of those. I love love turkey dinners and should think to cook them more often but I never do.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Mary According to HOdi, you can actually get a towel wrapped around those ta-tas. LOL I'm not ready for clothes for thing in the morning. I need my cawfee first. Oh, and I miss Audrey, too, and the others that we are missing.

    ReplyDelete
  11. HOdi Great idea to just change the style of card to accommodate the photos. I didn't turn the TV on until about 6:30 p.m. and that was to watch the most recent episode of "Blacklist" which I had recorded. Love James Spader.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Barb Where are you this morning? Out shopping? In a turkey coma?

    ReplyDelete
  13. So the plumber is here right now. He got the part put on, but then it was faulty, so someone brought out 2 more. An hour job has now turned into 2+....thankfully he will NOT be charging me for labor beyond the first hour.

    ReplyDelete
  14. DIANNE - I've not watched Blacklist before. And I do like James Spader! I might just have to check it out.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Whoops...I totally had a brain fart. Must be water heater stress ;) SLIN that last post is for u!! lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hot water heater is up and running! Can't wait for it to finish heating up the water. I am going to take the longest HOT shower evah!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Dianne. LOL you have to share that $$ with Mary.

Mary, I'm SURE Dianne will be sending you a nice surprise very soon.

Just so you won't be too disappointed, there will be NO $$ in this year's Xmas card. I left it all in Australia and New Zealand.

    ReplyDelete
  18. J/L, I love James Spader but I missed so much when I was gone that I just didn't start watching it again after I got home. I had it set to record while I was gone, but I must have screwed it up because it didn't record.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Jodi, So glad you got your hot water back. Almost nothing worse than a cold shower.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Dianne2, Raiders losing in the second half is nothing new, but I'm not a fair weather fan, so I'll still root for them.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I did not cook yesterday. I went to Marie Callendar's with Dean and my sister. Dean's wife had to work until 7pm so we decided we would do our family celebration on Sunday at Dean's. I only have to make my sausage dressing, which my kids love and insist on having. It's funny what traditions kids hang on to. I remember when, a few years ago, I bought a new angel for the top of the Christmas tree and all three kids had a fit. They insisted on putting the old, tired angel, with her torn frock, back. Good thing I hadn't thrown it out.

    ReplyDelete
  22. JL, you cracked me up! They do make large bath towels lol!!

yay,Hodi will have warm tah tahs in the shower!

Barb, darn that Australian trip. I already spent the money you would have sent me lol!!!

I am watching tv with my hands over my eyes! My hometown of Ithaca is in the finals. They are at Ford Field where the Det. Lions play. They have not lost a game in the last 3 yrs. If they win, they will be tied with Iowa with winning the most consecutive games in the nation! My nerves just can't handle it. Jim is giving me a play by play since I decided to stay n the kitchen with my laptop lol!
    BTW where is Missy Zona??

    ReplyDelete
  23. I should have specified, "High school football"

    ReplyDelete
  24. They won! This is their 4th Division title in a row! The have won 56 games in a row! Yay Ithaca! A senior said he has been on the winning team since he was in the 8th grade. How cool is that?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Barb I still have a same angel tree topper that I bought when the kids were young. It wouldn't be Christmas without her on top of the tree.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Mary Sadly, Zona doesn't come here anymore and hasn't for a long time. :(

    ReplyDelete
  27. BARB - It was soooooooooo good!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. MARY - Congrats to those boys on the football team! Pretty awesome record :D

    ReplyDelete
  29. SLIN - I still have all the ornaments the kids made in grade and pre-school. I wouldn't dare not put them up!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I best get going!! Heading out for breakfast with my hubby ♥

    ReplyDelete
  31. Hi..WENT TO THE MOVIES with Louis to see Captain Phillips. Very good movie and tom hanks did a great job. We wet t dinner after movie so I guess it was a date night/afternoon. We came home and I even helped putting Christmas decorations up. (I do t like to do that) but I wanted them up.

Jodi, you sure go to breakfast early. I'd be sleeping in my eggs. I'm just up now on a potty break.

Mary. Congrat to you r HS football team. Wow, that's a lot of wins.

BULLETIN...MY CARDS ARE IN THE MAIL. I feel so good about it and only sent 90 instead of 110. I'm cutting back. Lol.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Dianne I saw that movie a couple of weeks ago. I thought Hanks was excellent and it was a very good movie. I am so jealous that you are so organized this year and ready for the Christmas holiday. It seems I get more behind every year.

    ReplyDelete
  33. HOdi Hopefully, you did NOT fall asleep in your eggs like Dianne would have.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ended up NOT going to breakfast. Nature called in a BAD way, and I've been down the rest of the day. Not sure if I ate something that disagreed with me yesterday or I have a touch of the stomach flu. Either way, I feel like a piece of rat crap :-(

    ReplyDelete
  35. HOdi Hope you feel better soon. I've had a few issues today. I think it's too much tryptophan in my system.

    ReplyDelete
  36. SLIN - Thank you. Still feel weak. Hope you feel better soon, too ♥

    ReplyDelete
  37. Dianne, Congratz on getting your cards out so early.

    ReplyDelete
  38. J/L, I gave the new angel away when the kids had such a fit. My angel has got to be over 40 years old. I mended her dress and gently washed it, but it still looks OLD! I guess it will be my tree topper until she actually falls apart or I die, whichever come first. :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. Jodi, Feel better soon. It sucks to be sick, especially around the Holidays when there is so much to do.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I still have all the ornaments the kids made in school, too. For many years, at my Hubby's request, our main tree had only hand made ornaments on it. I made a bunch of stuffed ornaments and knitted bells, and my Mom made different ones every year, usually crochet or needlepoint. We had a second tree with all the other ornaments, i.e. sports, Gone With The Wind Hallmark ornaments, and the ones I bought with the year written on them. Now, I only do one tree and mix the homemade with the others.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Mary, Congratz to Ithaca. That's quite a record.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Good morning HOoters! Just enjoying a cup of coffee. Don't have the stabbing feeling in my stomach like I did yesterday. Yay!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. HOdi So glad you're feeling better today. So am I. YEsterday, I did manage to meet my son half way (about an hour's drive) and get the dog and bring her back here. I've missed her. We've already been engaged in two of her favorite activities; retrieving the big blue plastic ball after I throw it off of the deck as far as I can, and ripping that blue ball into pieces which she has already started to do. Gee, maybe she doesn't like retrieving as much as I thought she did. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  44. Happy Sunday HOoters.

I'm getting ready to leave for Dean's house to have a big turkey dinner. I've made the stuffing, although it isn't as good when it isn't actually stuffed in the turkey to cook. I may have even burned it a little, just on top. Dean likes it that way and he says if no one else likes it, that's more for him. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  45. J/L, I think you are getting Ursula's message. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  46. SLIN - Glad u r feeling better, too!! Our lab would fetch for hours!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. BARB - Enjoy your turkey dinner!! I like the "done" edges of the stuffing, too!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Barb Are you in a turkey stupor yet?

    ReplyDelete
  49. HOdi Even when the dog sees a squirrel running off of the deck, she will grab her blue ball first and shake it and take it with her to chase the squirrel. I think she's afraid the squirrels are trying to mess with her ball. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hi..WHEW
another good game today and were still number one. I just watched the Hallmark Christmas movie so I'm wiping tears away.

Jl and Jodi..Glad you both are feeling better. Too much going on this time of year to be sick.

Barb....your dressing sounds yummy to me.

Kids came over and wrapped today...three hours. I'm going to have to get a job to keep up this cost. Lol

Jl...do you keep the dog all the time or just part time?

Looks like snow and cold is coming. I hope not much snow.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hi gals!
Last night Jim & I went to support a friend of ours. He is trying to get his side business of DJ & Karaoke going. He sure was happy we came! We brought a few friends and made him look good for the bar owner. My son, his wife, my Grandson and a few of their friends met us there too. We had a lot of fun singing and dancing!
I only had 2 beers, pretty much my limit lol!
We had a pretty laid back day today.
JL,our dog would have none of our "laying back" lol! She has a tennis ball and constantly wants us to chase her around for it!

Jodi, a little stomach flu is going around our town. Glad you are feeling better!

Dianne,I need to get busy with my cards. I have had them for a while, just can't seem to get motivated! We are supposed to get snow and cold temps this week so it will be a good time to hunker down and get them addressed.

    Sweet dreams !!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Dianne It's really my son's dog but then she kind of became mine while they were all living with me. My son no longer lives with me but the dog stayed until it became evident that I would be taking a lot of trips this past year and I had the dog stay with him, feeling like she'd be happier, anyway, since she would have another dog to play with and could play with the kids. In the end, though, she appears to be happier in a quieter household and I missed her company so now she's back with me.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Mary That was nice of you to help out your friend. Will you be competing for jobs now?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Hello HOoters.

Home from working at Christmas Promise. Opened yesterday and by 5:00 115 families were 'adopted.' Working again tomorrow. Can't wait to see how many people came in after work tonight to adopt.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Waving a floppy wing to J/L, Mary, Jodi, & Dianne.

I am really tired so I'm going to eat dinner and read my book and try to get to bed early. I didn't sleep well last night and am hoping to sleep better tonight so I can be fresh as a daisy for work tomorrow. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  56. Barb Bless you for working at Christmas Promise every year. Sweet dreams.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Good morning.....IM JUST ON A POTTY BREAK right now but thought I'd check in early.

Our weather prediction is bad ----60 today and then dropping to 18 with snow Wednesday. High Saturday is 10. Now. I have a busy week driving places and snow does not work out with my schedule. This cold front lasts until Monday. Yuck !!!

Barb, that is so great that you volunteer at Christmas Promise. You are their angel. Hope you're getting a good sleep right this minute.

JL....are you getting Christmas motivated yet? Come here this week and the weather will make you feel like winter.

Hi Jodi and Mary .Ill try not to blow too hard on the clouds so you both won't be freezing next week.

Ok back to sleep. I have to get up at 8:30 to go get blood drawn for a dr appt next week.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Waving a wing!! It's been a crazy week and it's only Tuesday. OY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. SLIN - I kept thinking about your dog and her blue balls, and thought, wow...that's a neat trick!! Ha! I know...I'm messed up ;)

    ReplyDelete
  60. DIANNE - Congrats on the Bronco's win!! Woot woot!!! Still waiting on lists from Sam, Nate and Jake, so no wrapping for me yet!! I also haven't gotten the pic taken that I would like for our Christmas card. Good thing I work well under pressure!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. MARY - Sounds like you had a good night while supporting a friend. Good for u!! Not looking forward to the frigid temps that are going to hit by Friday. It's been raining on and off today. My biggest fear is that it will all ice over.

    ReplyDelete
  62. BARB - Christmas Promise is lucky to have you every year. I'm doing my part on Friday. The Red Cross is in dire need for blood this time of year. Especially my blood type. So I'm giving a double red donation on Friday!

    ReplyDelete
  63. DIANNE - I'm having a fasting blood draw on Friday before I go to the Red Cross. I'm making good on my promise to my Aunt Jane and having a physical next Monday. It had been awhile (2006). I already had my mammogram in September and the girls are fine :)

    ReplyDelete
  64. Has anyone seen the commercials for The Sound of Music Live? I caught a special on Bravo yesterday afternoon on the making of it. It looks fantastic!! I'm definitely going to be watching on Thursday night!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Jodi, I wish I could give blood. I have had issues with anemia my whole life so they don't want my blood. Does a double red donation mean they are going to take twice as much? I didn't know they would do that.

I am also anxious to see The Sound of Music Live, although in my time zone it will probably be a tape of the live show, unless they are doing it twice. Anyway, I think Carrie will do a great job.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Dianne, Go my first two Christmas cards today and one was from you. You are on the ball, lady. I'm going to try to get mine out this week and get my tree up, too.

    ReplyDelete
  67. J/L, we are going to have freezing weather this week and I heard you guys were going to have low temps too. Maybe you can snuggle up with Ursula to stay warm.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Mary, How nice of you to help your friend out getting his DJ side business started. Are you going to retire anytime soon?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Dianne Here I am! Thank you for the card! Yours is the first that I've received. The ones I ordered arrived yesterday but I haven't even opened the box, yet.

    ReplyDelete
  70. HOdi At the first veterinary hospital that I worked at, there was a Siamese cat that lived there named Blue. Well, his full name was actually Blue Balls. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  71. Barb Yep, very chilly temps expected. I'm cold right now, actually. I have a thermometer posted to the outside of a window so it's easy for me to check the temps. However, there's an ugly-ass spider residing between the thermometer bracket and the window so I have to see it every time I check the temp.

    ReplyDelete
  72. BARB - This is how the Red Cross explains the double red donation.

During your double red cell donation, blood is drawn from one arm and drawn through a sterile, single-use needle set to a machine. The machine separates and collects two units of red cells and then safely returns the remaining blood components, along with some saline, back to you through the same arm.

It takes an hour, but it's so worth it. I have O- blood, so they can give mine to all the really rare types. This was something I started doing with my Dad when I was 18. And of course since I had a transfusion the night Jake was born (6 units of whole blood and 3 units of frozen plasma), I am SO happy to pay it forward ♥

    ReplyDelete
  73. SLIN - Ha!!! And what is your thermometer saying now?

    ReplyDelete
  74. Chilly here...about 8. It's snowing but not too hard yet. I hope it doesn't so I won't be stuck at home tomorrow.

I can't get that song What Does The Fox Say out of my head. Have you all heard it? If not google it on u tube and listen to it. It's funny I think.

    Jl....,maybe the spider will freeze.

Glad to hear my cards are arriving and I'm one of the first for all of you. I wish I was so motivated to do other things around here. Oh well, I'll take what energy I can get.

Jodi..Good for you giving blood. Do you ever feel weak or dizzy?

Barb...didn't you say that you are having Christmas dinner at your house?

We will be going to my daughters again for Christmas. I hate for her to have to do both holidays but my DIL has decided to have Christmas a couple of days early with us and have her family on Christmas Day. I'm very disappointed.

I was able to go visit my lady friend today. She had company last week so I didn't get to see her. She was full of talk today. I so enjoy her.

Well, guess I'd better go to sleep now. Night

    ReplyDelete
  75. DIANNE - As long as I drink plenty of water and have a decent meal before, I feel fine. The only side effect is while they are putting the white stuff back in, I tend to get chilled, so they always give me a blanket. I also get a "tinny" taste in my mouth during that part of the process, but have learned if I chew a couple of Tums it goes away.

    ReplyDelete
  76. DIANNE - Glad you had a nice visit with your lady today. I'm sure she enjoyed it, too!! Sorry you're disappointed about Christmas, but good for you for playing nice!! Sleep well lady ♥

    ReplyDelete
  77. Dianne Look at it this way...It will be like having two Christmases. That can be fun.

    ReplyDelete
  78. HOdi Kudos to you for paying it forward.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Dianne, It's so nice of you to visit that lady. I'm sure she looks forward to your visits.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Jodi, I have fairly rare O negative blood and it's a shame that I can't donate.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Dianne2, I am cooking for Christmas Eve and probably Christmas day.

    ReplyDelete
  82. J/L, Are you cooking for Christmas?

    ReplyDelete
  83. BARB - Good to know! If u ever need any u can have mine :-)

    ReplyDelete
  84. Jodi, I can only take yours if you are O negative. If you are O positive, then we don't match. But thanks for the offer.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Well, it's -13 tonight and we are breaking records like crazy. I've been home all day and am already getting cabin fever. The roads had some snow and ice so I stayed home. I'll be out tomorrow. I did wrap three things and napped a lot. You all can see why I can't be home.

Oh Barb...two days cooking? What will you fix? Big meals both days and for how many?

I probably look as forward to my visits with my new friend too. She just brightens my day.

    Jodi...start drinking that water.

Jl...Did you open your box of cards yet? Good thing you're not here as you'd be freezing your a$$ off. Lol.

Hi Mary wherever you are today.

    ReplyDelete
  86. BARB - I am O- too!! That's why I made the offer :-D

    ReplyDelete
  87. DIANNE - We've had crazy weather this week. High's in the upper 40's and low 50's, rain and lots of fog. That is changing right now. It is now 37* and our high will be only 25* today. Friday night we are suppose to be in the single digits. Not quite what you are having, but dang!! I hate all this back and forth.

P.s. I got your card yesterday. Thank you....I love the verse and the snowflakes ♥

    ReplyDelete
  88. Dianne I am freezing my ass off as it is and it's nowhere near as cold here as it is there.

By the way, "What Does the Fox Say?" was our Sunday music blog a little while back. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  89. Barb I expect I will be cooking on Christmas. I always do.

    ReplyDelete
  90. HOdi There's been a lot of talk on the local news about our low temps. I think it's about 35 right now.

    ReplyDelete
  91. We have a program at work called Families Helping Families. Every year our District Leader would automatically send out tags for families in need. The tags have the gender, age, and what is wished for. This year we have a new District Leader and she left it up to each store to request tags. I asked my Store Leader when we were going to get our tags last week. Yesterday afternoon I realized that our gifts had to be in LaCrosse by Friday. So we did our shopping last night for 6 tags because they have to go on our truck today. We had a blast!! After we were done shopping we headed back to Alex's apartment and wrapped the gifts....with the assistance of his naughty cat. NOT!!! I thought I had lost one of the tags. Nope!! Lenny had taken it into Alex's bedroom.

    ReplyDelete
  92. SLIN - I'm sure that is cold for your area. I hope you have your comfy robe on!!

    ReplyDelete
  93. Best hoist and rinse!! Have a great day HOoters :D

    ReplyDelete
