ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Lucky pig ;) Thanks for these interesting facts!!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Prettiest in the nest today!!
ReplyDeleteJust got up from a nap. I don't know what my problem is, but this whole week I've been wide awake at 1 am.
ReplyDeleteHoping to go back to Alex and Dustin's tonight to watch Sound of Music Live. What could be better than to watch a classic musical with my gays?!!?
I hope everyone is having a good Thursday :)
Looking forward to tonight's show too, Jodi. Wish I could come watch it with you and your friends.
ReplyDeleteJL...they keep playing the fox song on our sports cast because the Bronco coaches name is Fox. Lol.
You must be freezing there and with humidity too, Jl. Hope u do have that warm robe on as Jodi mentioned.
I went out today and it was up to ten degrees. The sun was shining so it didn't feel so bad. It felt good to get out of the house.
I loved the Sound of Music tonight. I thought Carrie Underwood did a good job. I hadn't watched the movie for a long time plus I sang every song!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be 13 for the Bronco game Sunday so warm up your tassels girls.
Did you know George Clooney has a pig? Maybe he is taking lessons.
ReplyDeleteI was supposed to work at Christmas Promise until 5:00 today, but no one showed up for the 5:00-9:00 shift so I stayed. We had two big groups scheduled to come in to wrap gifts and it's a good thing I stayed because they needed a lot of help, even though I gave them all a tutorial, they had printed instructions on each table and we have several graphics hanging from the ceiling. Some people are just dense! Anyway, after cleaning up, I got out of there about 10:00.
ReplyDeleteIt is 32 degrees here right now and it's supposed to get down to 28 overnight. Brrrrr I know it's colder for Jodi, Dianne, and Mary, but I live in California and it's not supposed to get this cold here! I am not used to it and I have very thin blood! Time to kick that heat into high gear! Right J/L?
Good night and sweet dreams. I have to get up early tomorrow for my 10:00 nail appointment.
Barb You had a long and tiring day. You are right that some people are just plain dense. Good thing you stayed. I have definitely cranked up the heat plus I'm wearing an extra sweater in the house. I walked the dog today and had my jacket zipped up over my sweater and wore gloves, too.
ReplyDeleteDianne I've started to address my Christmas cards. I also got some Christmas decorations up. I do have two gifts purchased but not wrapped. I have a looooong way to go.
ReplyDeleteJL....that's good ...your going in the right direction towards Christmas. Btw, aren't you going to do drawing with me anymore? It's been 21 days.
ReplyDeleteBarb...that is a long day. You are a good person. Have a good sleep.
Sorry you C A gals are cold. You're right..it's supposed to be warm there. I think it's cold everywhere watching the news. I'm glad we dont have those Ice storms here.
Let me know if any of you want me to make a cd of me singing Sound of a Music for you......la la the hills are alive la la la.
Well, I fell asleep watching Sound of Music Live. Made the mistake of watching in the basement and laying down. It's about 80 degrees down there with the wood stove. Good thing I DVR'd it!!
ReplyDeleteBARB - Good for you for staying. I've said it before, but they are lucky to have u ♥
ReplyDeletep.s. what color are you having done today? something for the holidays?
DIANNE - I was singing along, too!! *before I fell asleep* I would love a cd of u!! I think they did a good job casting the kids!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I'm still working on getting pics for our cards. Sam gave me an idea for her gift yesterday. That's a start, right?
ReplyDeleteI best get prettied up. I will have to drop Tim off at school before I go for my fasting blood draw. Hoping Sam is available for breakfast before I go give my double red at the Red Cross.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day HOoters ♥
Dianne I thought you were the one who stopped drawing!
ReplyDeleteHOdi I got up early today for a phone call but now I'm thinking I want to go get cozy under the covers again and sleep some more. Cold weather makes you just want to bundle up and doze off.
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I'm now back home. I started some laundry and am basking in the warmth of the wood burning stove!!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Just ordered said gift for Sam. She and I are also going shopping on Sunday. She needs some decent boots/shoes to wear to work. Especially since her feet get wet watering the flowers for her department. Her boyfriend Nate wants a new laptop, so I'm donating $ for that. Easy!!!
ReplyDeleteJodi, I got bright red on my nails today. I always wear red in December, otherwise I do a boring French manicure the rest of the year.
ReplyDeleteBARB - I'm gettingv red next, too!! I'm thinking of doing red tips on all but my ring finger, she has a fun neon green for that one!
ReplyDeletePretty productive day. Fasting blood draw, breakfast with Sam & Nate, double red donation, laundry, and I just got done watching Sound of Music Live. Not bad for my day off!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - I think Carrie did a fine enough job. She's certainly no Julie, but no one could fill her shoes really.
ReplyDeleteHeading to bed. Goodnight :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for all the nice things you said about my volunteering. The truth is I get more out of it than I give. I really love talking to the people that adopt the families and I love it when they bring in all the things they bought for them. They get so excited talking about it.
ReplyDeleteFamilies are referred to us by Social Workers and Teachers. They have a child in the family write a letter to Santa telling him what they would like for Christmas. The letters usually ask for something for each member of the family, including Mom and/or Dad, and usually they ask for themselves last. Some of the letters are heartbreaking. We post the letters and info about the family, on a large wall and people come in to read the letters and pick from them, a to 'adopt' a family.
This year, one little girl said all she wants is for her Dad to come back home. She said he left a long time ago and she would like him to come home to see what kind of girl she has become in her ten long years of life. Most of these kids are very much older than their years. It is so unfair. I had tears streaming by the time I was finished reading. I really have to quit reading those letters.
The reason why I chose this particular organization is that every single person working there, including the person who started it, are volunteers. All the money goes directly to benefit the families. We are only opened for two months and the building is donated. We are usually in a different building every year. Much of the equipment, furniture, etc. is kept in someone's garage when not in use. All this was started by two women in 1981. They are still working their asses off, usually 10-12 hours a day during November and December. The rest of the year they work at getting donations, especially a building for the next year.
Wow, sorry for that long post. I didn't realize it was so long.
ReplyDeleteJodi, you must post a pic on FB.
ReplyDeleteI am waiting for my SIL and her SO to get here to spend the night on their way to a town north of here. The Motel Armstrong is open again. They are leaving in the morning.
ReplyDeleteBARB - I'm sure those letters are heart breakers. And yes, I will post a pic after I get my nails done next.
ReplyDeleteBarb..Very interesting about your volunteer job. It's great that everyone is a volunteer. I feel like you do regarding getting so much out of it myself. It's still a great thing you do. You are earning your wings!'
ReplyDeleteI think I'll do red nails next time too. I usually do the pink and white mostly because it lasts longer than color. I can't stand when it starts growing out with color.
Jodi....glad you liked Carrie. She's such a great singer and has come a long way since American Idol. sounds like you had a busy productive day. And high five to you for all the blood you donated today.
Tomorrow is our Homeowners Christmas party at noon. It gets earlier each year as we all get older, I guess. I'm going to see my friends band tomorrow night but even that is at a bar/restaurant from 4:30-8:00. I really can stay out later but no place to go. I must find some younger friends. :)
ReplyDeleteWish I had a donut, Jodi
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Will pumpkin spice donuts do?
ReplyDeleteYes yes. Thank you. I love pumpkin anything
ReplyDeleteDianne LOL @ needing to find younger friends. You need more night owls that live close to you.
ReplyDeleteBarb The hotel is open again, huh? I hope your guests didn't pull any inconsiderate crap again this time.
ReplyDeleteHOdi I hope you brought enough donuts for me, too. A nice spicy pumpkin donut would go well with my morning coffee.
ReplyDeleteI hate it when it's so cold like this. It makes me not want to go out and do anything. I have taken the dog on walks the last couple of days. I get myself so bundled up you'd think it was snowing or something. LOL
ReplyDeleteWell, my company is gone. My SIL asked me why my Christmas tree wasn't up and I told I've been working so she suggested we get it up today. Her SO got it out for me and she and I decorated it. They stayed until almost 1:00. It was nice to have the help.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, It got down to 28 here last night and I could not get warm. It rained all night and it was reported that it might even snow, but I didn't see any signs of that this morning. It's 46 now, but I'm still cold, even though I was only outside long enough to say goodbye to my SIL.
ReplyDeleteDianne, I agree with J/L, you need more Night Owls near you. I don't want to live where it snows, however, so why don't you move to Cali? :)
ReplyDeleteJodi, I'll take a pumpkin spice donut, please. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHey Maaarrrryyy. Where are you?
ReplyDeleteBarb That was nice that your SIL helped you with the tree. Hey, I don't have one up yet, either. I always get a real tree so I don't want to put it up too soon. I do put it in a water stand, but still, it gets dry in here because I always have the heat cranked up.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even walk the dog today because the wind was kicking up and it was just to damn cold.
Mary I hope you didn't fall into a bank of snow.
ReplyDeleteHi..Still below freezing here. When I came home it was 1. It's all everyone is talking about it seems they are saying back up to 50 by Thursday. Good!!!!
ReplyDeleteWent to our HOA party today. It was nice. Tonight went to listen to my friends bad band. They don't sing too great but we are friends with the drummer so we go to support them. I like it when they are on breaks.
I think Mary might be sloshed somewhere celebrating their game today. I think I read they are going to the Rose Bowl.
Barb, some days I'd like to move to your house. Is that what you meant?
SLIN & BARB - I brought enough for everyone!! And they are soooo good with a hot cup of cawfee!!
ReplyDeleteAnother day of living the dream at Kwik Trip. Praying it's not as frustrating as yesterday!!
ReplyDelete50!!!
ReplyDeleteDianne, That's exactly what I meant. I have lots of room.
ReplyDeleteWaving a wing to J/L, Jodi, Mary and all the lurkers. I am off to usher for It's a Wonderful Life. BBL
ReplyDeleteGood morning! It's almost 2 am here. Jim has kept me up most of the week with his coughing! I figured if I stayed up long enough I would pass out and not notice lol! His coughing is mostly due to his smoking. I wish he would give it up, but it is a habit that is hard to break!
ReplyDeleteMy tree is finally up and decorations set out. My son put all the lights up outside before this nasty weather came.
I went to a Christmas music performance this afternoon. It def. put me in a holiday mood :)
When I got out the snow was coming down pretty hard. The roads were ok, but the light snow caused some white outs especially when idiots passed me!
Time to catch up on posts here....
Mary..WE all thought u fell in a snow drift this weekend or were at the casino winning our cruise money
ReplyDeleteOk barb.empty the closets as I'm on my way. I'll bring my Bronco decorations too. It's the season
ReplyDeleteBARB - Waving back at you!! How was the show?
ReplyDeleteMARY - Holiday music concerts are the best. Glad u made it home ok ♥
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - Congrats on the Broncos win!! I'm sure it's because I was swinging my tassels ;)
ReplyDeleteSLIN - Congrats on the 49er's win!! The Packers won, too!! Woot woot!!
ReplyDeleteGlad I didn't have to drive early today. Word on the street is that our wee little town didn't even plow last night. WTF!!! I am taking both the boys to school today. Praying they have the roads cleared later. I have my physical at 3:10, Jake's wrestling match at 4 and his band concert at 7. OY!!!
ReplyDeleteOur overnight temps have been below freezing and are supposed to continue for the rest of the week. WTF??? I know other places are much colder, but this is Cali and neither our bodies nor our homes are equipped for this kind of weather. I need to go get some stuff to wrap the pipes.
ReplyDeleteOK Dianne. Like I always told my kids, You can decorate your room anyway you like. We'll just keep the door closed.
ReplyDeleteJodi, you have another busy day. I remember those kind of days when all my kids had sports and school events, sometimes overlapping. Seems like you never stop.
ReplyDeleteJ/L, I hope you and the pup are staying bundled up.
ReplyDeleteHey Mary, glad to see you aren't snowed bound.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get to see the show yesterday because we were sold out, but they gave us vouchers so we could go back to see it, which is more than the summer theater does for us.
ReplyDeleteNice they are giving u that voucher BARB!!
ReplyDeleteActually sitting at the Dr's office right now. He needs to get out of here today, so they asked if I could come in this morning.
ReplyDeleteAppt went well. Cholesterol is a little elevated, but do not need meds for it yet. He said I should up my intake of water soluble fiber. And he gave me a prescription to help with my incredibly thick toenails. Really sick of having to use a dremel tool on them ;)
ReplyDeleteHello....Everyone busy today?
ReplyDeleteJodi...So glad your physical went well. Now you're set for another year. I go next month although, I go tomorrow for a three month check up because I'm borderline diabetic and do take pills for it. She makes me come every three months regardless.
Went to lunch with my old boss and then to walmart for some Christmas bags, etc.
Still cold here. It went up to 25 today but the sun was out. Brr when that sun goes down.
I have a busy day tomorrow..two dr appts, visit my lady and dinner with my granddaughter. Glad it won't be snowing.
Barb, of I'm moving out there and living with I want to decorate the house in orange and blue!!!' My favorite Bronco colors not just a room. You'll see, it will be fun.
Jl...Time to wake up. It's night now
ReplyDeleteDianne LOL I've been awake and actually out and about doing things. Went into Rite Aid for one thing and came out with a bag full of stuff. How did that happen?
ReplyDeleteHOdi I have thick toenails, too. I was on meds for them for months but it didn't help. Message me what med your doc put you on.
ReplyDeleteBarb I bundled up like Nanook of the North and took the dog for a walk. When I got up today I discovered that the dish of water I have out for the birds and squirrels was frozen solid. It still didn't thaw out by afternoon so I had to knock the ice out.
ReplyDeleteSorry Dianne, My hospitality does NOT extend to decorating the whole house!
ReplyDeleteJodi & J/L, I have the same toe nail problem and it has only been for the past couple of years. Sheenah (my nail person) says she sees it often. What's up with that? I really HATE it! I would be interested in knowing what you both are taking.
ReplyDeleteBoo hoo.....I can't move to your house Barb. I'll have to stay in freezing Denver. I had such great plans too
ReplyDeleteSLIN & BARB - I just texted you a pic of the medication I'm on. It's a 3 month treatment, but he said it takes about 6 months for the nails to completely grow out. I'm also going to keep treating them with tea tree oil, too. My Aunt Jane also suggested using Vicks Vapor Rub. Couldn't hurt!!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - I'm going shopping with Sam after work today. Going to see if we can find those boots she wants/needs for work. I have extra coupons for Famous Footwear and Kohl's.
ReplyDelete80!!!
ReplyDeleteJake won his wrestling match!! Thankfully his coach scheduled him for an early one so he could make it in plenty of time for his band concert. His band concert was really good. He had a solo in the one piece called Benediction. Really beautiful!! I taped 3 of the pieces they played, and when I got home and uploaded them....no sound!! I'm so disappointed. I have no idea why that happened. I'm going to message his band teacher in the hopes that they have it on tape.
ReplyDeleteJust checked our temp. Its -3°. Thankful for my bun warmers and a remote start today!!
ReplyDeleteHOdi No text received here. My doctor thought it was due to a fungus and the med I had to have my liver values checked every month while I was on it. I think it was a three month course. Anyway, it made no change in my toenails whatsoever. I was disappointed.
ReplyDeleteDianne Since you have to stay in freezing Denver, make sure you wear more than just tassels when watching your Broncos play.
ReplyDeleteBarb Ugly toenails; Just another indignity of the aging process, I guess. :(
ReplyDeleteI seriously think its my Mom getting me back ;-)
ReplyDeleteJ/L, You're right, but I guess it's better than the alternative, or so they tell me (whoever "they" are).
ReplyDeleteJodi, I got your text. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Dianne. You don't know what you're missing.
ReplyDeleteHOdi I'm no longer have the pill container but I'm pretty sure that was the same med that I was on. It didn't work for me but I hope it works for you.
ReplyDeleteHi.....well, I fell down yesterday. It was inside going down some stairs at the drs office. I could feel my shoe heel catch on the carpet and down I went. I fell on my knee and wrist. I ache bad today and my knee hurts bad. The next issue was getting up. No one around so I scooted over to the other stairway and used the bannister and step to get up. The building filed a report in case anything happened down the road. My biggest fear is falling
ReplyDeleteI still got all my things done yesterday.
I will wear a blanket (orange) with my tassels tomorrow night. I think it will be cold. I also have volunteer tomorrow. I wonder if the people will think I look different. Lol
Bummer Jodi that no sound. Did the school have a video? Hope so.
Going to lunch with Barb Gordon tomorrow. (Wonder if she'll notice the tassels?
Hope you are all doing well and getting your Christmas things done. Ho ho ho
Dianne I'm so sorry about that fall. Geez! I'm so glad you didn't break anything. I bet you will be sore for a while. Enjoy your lunch with Barbara Gordon. Don't drag your tassels in your food.
ReplyDeleteBARB - You're welcome!
ReplyDeleteSLIN - I'm hoping it will help. Couldn't hurt!!! I talked to Aunt Jane and it was a podiatrist that turned her on to the Vick's Vapor Rub treatment. Worked for her. Gonna give it a go!!!
ReplyDeleteDIANNE - So sorry you fell. Hope you don't have any lasting effects from that!! I emailed the band teacher and she is working on getting me a video. Yay!!! Please give Barb a hug from me *I hope that doesn't ruin your tassels* ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's a brisk -1* this morning. Warming up to the mid 20's for the next couple of days, though.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day HOoters ♥
HOdi It's a balmy 50* here. Compared to you, it's like I'm in Hawaii. LOL
ReplyDelete
