Drunk Driving

by Dianne

Study the picture before reading the story.....

This actually happened to an Englishman in France who was totally drunk:

A French policeman stopped the Englishman's car and asked if he had been drinking. With great difficulty, the Englishman admitted that he had been drinking all day, that his daughter got married that morning, and that he drank champagne and a few bottles of wine at the reception, and many single malt scotches thereafter.

Quite upset, the policeman proceeded to conduct an alcohol-test (breath test) on the Englishman and verified that he was indeed totally sloshed. He asked the Englishman if he knew why, under French Law, he was going to be arrested?

The Englishman answered with a bit of humor.

"No sir, I do not! But while we're asking questions....do you realize that this is a British auto and that my wife, seated on the other side of this car, is the driver?"

  1. Hi, HOoters! Well I had another night of decent sleep. I'm starting to feel like I'm back on the road to being a human being again. I hope you all are feeling well and have a good weekend. Any plans? Will you watch the Oscars on Sunday?

  2. JustL,I am still debating watching the Oscars. I have trouble sitting through any awards show. It should be interesting.
    Yay for good slleep!!

Our road is better today so we are venturing out to get grosseries. I rescheduled Zoies paw-de-cure for Tues. We are getting snow all next week, but not nearly close to the 16" we got this week!
    Hoping for an uneventful weekend!

There is going to have to be a lot of snow on the roof melting before the guys can put our new window! My office is right above the lower garage roof. Thank goodness the high winds and snow didn't make it inside!

  3. Very Funny, Dianne. When I was in high school, my brother had a little MG convertable which I think was a British make. Anyway, the steering wheel was on the right side and one day he was driving me somewhere and one of my friends saw me in the car. She asked me how come he let me drive when I wasn't old enough at that time to have a license. I wanted to let her keep thinking I was driving, but my conscience got the better of me and I told her the truth. I thought I was so cool riding in that car with him.

  4. Mary, Is that hole boarded up so the wind and other weather doesn't get in the house? It doesn't sound like it will be fixed for a while if there is a lot of snow on the roof.

  5. J/L, I hope you are feeling better. :)

  7. Hellooooo. What r u all doing today? What r u doing on your extra day tomorrow? We have had beautiful weather all weekend. I met friend I hadn't seen since Louis and I got married today. It was fun catching up. I think she was surprised how old I am now. She's only 56 plus she looked just the same. I watched the Academy Awards and did a lot of paper work that needed to be done. I still have a lot left including getting ready for taxes but made a big dent tonight.

We went to dinner Saturday night with Tammy and boyfriend. The kids were in Arizona for the weekend with their dad so it gave Tammy a welcome rest. Barb and I went up in the mountains on Saturday since it was so nice out. That's about my weekend. I now want to see a couple of movies after the awards tonight.

JL, hope u are still felling good. I finally am not coughing as much and feel much better.

Barb, that's funny about the car. You shouldn't have told!!

Jodi, did u go out of town this weekend?

Mary, still snowing? Can't blame me this time.

  8. Barb Those little MGs were cute little cars, weren't they? I would have a hell of a time getting in and out of one these days. That's a cute story about your friend thinking you were the one driving.

I'm looking forward to more Bachelor drama tonight.

  9. Mary Did you end up watching the Oscars? I did. A couple of friends and I were going to watch it together as we've done in the past but that didn't work out this year. It's more fun to watch with someone else and make remarks about the gowns, etc.

Here you are getting more snow and I've been seeing robins the last couple of days. I think we are going to get a little more rain later this week.

  10. Dianne I am feeling better but I woke up in the middle of the night coughing and needing to blow my nose,. I'm pretty sure it was all allergy related as I also had to use my inhaler. There are so many blooms on the trees right now and it's been breezy, spreading the pollen all over. I also really shouldn't have the dog sleeping with me but she does. Since I'm allergic to pretty much everything, including cats and dogs, I should sleep in a relatively sterile room but that doesn't happen by a long shot.

  11. Happy March, HOoters.

March in Sac came in like a lamb. Our temps have been in the 70s for a week. We are supposed to get rain at the end of the week.

  12. JustL, I sorta of watched the Oscars lol! I have to admit I would have enjoyed it more if Chris Rock, who I love, would have not kept hitting the dead horse to a pulp lol! I full expected some backlash for the lack of diersity, but not all night long. Just mho.

Sac Barb, I am beat! All 3 of us have been shoveling almost non stop since 7:00am! Jim on the snow blower, Matt on the tractor and me, shoveling the deck and a path for Zoie. I would get done and 2-3 more inches would pile up!It finally slowed down about 8pm! I am so over winter!

Dianne, I may have to redirect the weather pattern to Denver! How in the hell did it miss you lol!

I have to take a Motrin....

  13. Mary...Completely missed us. We haven't had any snow in almost (knock on wood) a month. It's just been beautiful here but I know winter isn't over for us. You have really had a lot of snow...that's too much for me. You should do the tractor ..wouldn't it be easier? Our March came in like a lamb here too. I agree with you in the Oscars. I like Chris Rock but he did beat the horse a lot!! I now have a couple of movies to catch up on. I'd like to see Spotlight and The Room.

JL...hope you rent getting sick again and it's just allergies. I'm still on my drugs but coughing mostly in the morning. Better get that dog out of your bed. ACHOO

Took the girls to dinner tonight. Kayla is still wrapped up with loser boyfriend. He quit his four hour a day job because he got mad but today he talked to the trash collectors and went online to apply for full time and $16 an hour. I'd be happy if he had a job to give Kayla some breathing room. He's very controlling!!!

My friend Mary and I Went to a tea lunch today. I had a Groupon. It was fun for change.

  14. Dianne, You will have to explain this "Groupon" to me. I hear about it, but I never know who I can trust on some of the sites.
Heading to bed in a bit. BTW, I never get on the tractor or lawn mower. I do way too much already! I don't want to give Jim any ideas lol!!

  15. Barb It's a beautiful day here but we have rain on the way, too. I hope it isn't too much tomorrow as I have to travel the freeways to go to my appointment with tax accountant. It's about 45 minutes away. Every year it feels like I just took that trip about 6 months ago. Why is time flying by so quickly? Scary!

  16. Mary It would be fun seeing you drive the tractor but you're so little there must be something on there you couldn't reach. LOL I'm having allergies from all the blossoms and you're still shoveling snow. Crazy!

  17. Dianne So what's with that new boyfriend? Is he not in school? Plus he's controlling? He doesn't sound like Prince Charming, that's for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Dianne, Kayla's boyfriend does sound like a loser. Unfortunately, Kayla is going to have to see it for herself and the more the adults tell her he's trouble, the more she will be drawn to him. I hate those kind of situations. Dean had a girlfriend that was really bad news and I prayed so hard that she would do something that would make him see the light and she finally did, but not until after he 'loaned' her a lot of money and other crap! That was a long time ago when he was about19-20.

  19. J/L, It was another beautiful day in the Capitol City.

    ReplyDelete
  20. JL, he's a huge loser. He's 20 (too old..she'll be 18 in October) I feel like he is mentally and verbally abusive to her. She is beautiful and smart and has 0 self confidence. She's going for counseling this weekend..against her better judgement. He thinks there R too many rules, so date someone your own age. Tammy and Andy have tried to stop her seeing him but then she ran away. This is heartbreaking to us right now. Sorry to be whining. Be glad u don't go to lunch with me or us would hear a long story!!

Mary, I buy a lot of Groupons. . They are great deals you just have to be sure and use them before they expire. I've used them for many meals, overnight get away, earrings, etc.

I lost 4 at WW today so was pleased with that while just finishing prednisone.

  21. Mary, I am so glad I don't live where the weather is that cold. I would have to literally hibernate for the winter months. I don't blame you for not using the tractor. You can't let the men know that you could probably do that too. You already pamper those guys enough! LOL

  22. Hey Jodi, what are you up to? I hope all is well at your house. :)

  23. Hi Barb, we were writing together. Yes,you have Kayla's boyfriend down exactly. I just hope and pray constantly that he doesn't harm her. He's a very angry person. He scares me for her. I sure hope she sees the light soon.

Beautiful day here except for wind.

  24. Dianne, congratz on the WW loss. How old is Kayla's BF? Maybe Tammy and Andy need to have a little talk with HIM!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Barb, they've had many talks with him and his grandparents where he lives. He texts tam and Andy and tells them they are too controlling among other rude things. He's almost 21 ..looks and acts like 15. No car, no job, lives with grandparents and no desire to do anything. I had a long talk with him last week but it just a bunch of bs.

  26. Finding a good lawyer is like having a mechanic is the family. Once you have them you want to utilize their skills in every civil matter. I recently called my lawyer to help me with Medicaid fraud claim filed against me and he gladly took on the case. Choose carefully when you are still on the fence about which layer to choose.
