  1. Dianne LOL @ you clarifying that you did not "mate" while at Estes Park.

  2. Mary Are you cooking corned beef and cabbage today? My corned beef is on a slow simmer as I type. My husband used to put it on the stove before I even woke up. He used to say that you could never cook it too long or too slow.

  3. Barb It's another beautiful day here. Maybe I'll spend a little time sitting out on the deck. I have to stay close to home as I have the corned beef on the stove. I bet it's a beautiful walk by the ocean today, though.

  5. JustLin, We are not much on cooking Irish h ere. I would eat it elsewhere though. I made boring chili, cuz that's what was ordered lol!

Well Dianne, you sure took the fun out of your mountain trip. I was thinking the mountain air must have gotten you two, all frisky and all!!

My hair roots are sticking out sooo bad! I purposely waited an extra 10 days from my usual time because of my upcoming trip. I am even off my pedi schedule! Such is life lol!! I bought a wig yesterday while I was out and about. It is cute, but I need to work with it so it doesn't look so stiff. I am taking it on my trip. The air is so humid in Mex. and my hair always looks like crap!

Looks like we are all alone JL
    Hoot Hoot, where is everybody??

  6. Happy St pats Day...I'm here. Nope Mary..Too darn old for the mountain air stuff. Took the girls to dinner tonight and got stuck with Kayla's homeless (grandparents threw him out until he has a job) boyfriend. I couldn't just not feed him but I doubt he'll want to go with me as I questioned a lot about what his current plan is now? Actually I lectured as my other granddaughter likes to call it. She told me I was to ouch of a parent inside. Hmm, wonder why after 69 years!!

I'm getting my color done tomorrow. Mary send a picture with your wig on. Anxious to see it.

Jodi and Barb, are you out drinking green beer? Barb, I asked you a couple of questions in Area 51 in case you haven't been over there.

  7. Dianne, I'm definitely not drinking green beer! Sharon would go on a drive to the mountains with me, but she has been really busy lately and a couple of her animals have been sick so she has been tending to them. She had to have one of her cats put down, he was 19 years old and another cat had to have all her teeth removed. Then one of her dogs had to have most of her teeth removed, also. She is only about 5 years old and now she has only about three teeth. Sharon is giving her soft food and she seems to be doing OK with it. But her cat is mad at her for having her teeth pulled and she stays hidden most of the time, only coming out to eat and use the litter box.

  8. I hope you all had a nice St. Patrick's day. My baby boy turned 42 today.

  9. SacBarb, Happy Birthday to your "baby". Mine will be 50 in Aug.!! Sharon sure is busy with her fur pets! Poor toothless things :(

Dianne, I will email you the pic if I can. I wonder where loser b-friend is staying? With you maybe ;-)

Tonight we went to fish dinner at the American Legion with a sweet friend of mine. She works so hard and rarely gets to go to these things because of her hrs. I remember missing a lot when I worked nights. She has odd hrs. At least mine were steady. Love being retired!!

  10. Mary I guess I'm the only one in the nest that made corned beef and cabbage. I finished it off last night. I just made a small brisket but still manged to get two dinners and two sandwiches out of it. Now I have to figure out what's for dinner tonight.

I'm also very interested in seeing you in your wig. How fun for you to have a group of friends to travel with.

  11. Dianne Any chance the loser boyfriend will have to move far away to live with a different relative? Where are his parents?

I take it that you are happy with your new hairdresser and the color she does for you. I know you had a lot of anxiety about going to someone new.

  12. Barb When I had all of my cats, they were primarily from the same line of wild cats and they inherited bad gums. A number of them ended up with all their teeth pulled and once that was done, they did so much better. No more pain when trying to eat and they kept right on eating dry food with no problem whatsoever.

My fallen plum tree was removed yesterday. It's weird to be able to see into my neighbors yard while I stand on my deck. On the bright side, I can see farther into the distance than I've been able to see in decades. If some of the other neighborhood trees were cut back a little, I'd see the ocean. The insurance adjuster is coming out on Tuesday to look at the damaged fence.

  13. HOdi Where are you? Did you run away with a leprechaun?

  14. Hi...I went to see Miracle From Heaven today and then out to dinner with my friend Barb. What a good movie. It's a true story. Barb cried through the whole darn movie. It's with Jennifer Garner. Louis and I went to a small church craft show today ...he was thrilled. It's his second one. I found lots of things and I was looking for a Spring wreath For the door and found one. My other two craft shows I go to a year are at Christmas and never have one...obviously. It was fun.

JL, the grandparents raised this kid and his mom left when he was two. There's a dad around but not much of a relationship with him and his 29 year older wife. My x-SIL put him in a hotel last night and I don't know what's going on today. I thought they contacted United Way to help him but I haven't talked to Tammy today to get an update. Kayla and boyfriend will probably eating Easter dinner at the homeless shelter! Hopefully, I'm just kidding about Kayla. How nice that the ocean is that close to you. Boy, it would be great if you could go on your deck and see it. No corned beef here as I don't care for it and Louis doesn't either.

Boy Barb, Sharon has her hands full. My baby will be 44 this year. My daughter is three years from 50. I can hardly believe it.

JL, I love my new hairdresser and she even slops some dye on my eyebrows. She's fun to talk to also...a little on the wild side.

Just wanted to say hi to Jodi and Mary. Jodi, I got two small bags of cheese curds at craft show..garlic and ranch. Have you ever heard of that before now? They are smaller but very good.

  16. Just a quick fly-by on my way out the door. I had a weird short dream, I saw a tiny bit of me "pass over". First I thought I had died, nope just a fine tiny film-like thing rose from me. I know, weird!

Well, my son Tony called on his way back from his vaca in Florida. His Uncle Pat called and told him his Dad,my ex, had passed away sometime last night or this morning. I have such mixed feelings because we had such a tumultuous marriage. If you recall, I went to visit him in the hospital not too long ago. He and Matthew reconciled their 30 long year estranged differences. For that I am grateful!
I wonder if my mini dream was connected some how? I'll let you ponder on that while I am out lol!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Dianne It seems the problem of the boyfriend has landed squarely in your family's lap for now. That sucks! Also, it makes Kayla feel even more sorry for him. He needs to get himself signed up for welfare or something while he looks for another job. Maybe he can go live with Bruce. (LMAO!) Seriously, it sounds like the kid's dad has never really stepped up to his responsibilities in this situation. Maybe it's time he did.

LOL @ your friend Barb crying through the whole movie. I watched Brooklyn last night on pay-per-view and really liked it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Mary That was an interesting dream you had. Maybe the tiny bit of you that was still connected to the ex was letting go. However you feel about his passing is okay whether it is "good riddance" or sorry that he didn't have a happier life. I'm glad Matthew got some measure of peace about him before he passed. How does Tony feel?

  19. J/L, Sharon said both the cat and the dog are going well eating without teeth. Daisey, her beagle, still has a cuspid on either side and she sticks her tongue through the space where the other teeth were and it looks really funny, like she is trying to figure out what happened!

    ReplyDelete
  20. Dianne, I'll keep praying that Kayla gets tired of this guy and his problems and gains enough confidence to dump his A$$!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Mary, That was a strange dream, but maybe what J/L said is what it means. Our dreams are supposed to divulge our subconscious thoughts/feelings, but you had that dream before you knew your ex died, so maybe your dream was a premonition!

  22. JL,I haven't talked to my son Tony since he has gotten home. I will go or call tomorrow. He got along with his dad as best he could. My ex, was very introverted. I'm not sure
when he started to mellow in life. Maybe after he first got ill.

The weatherman is pissing me off! There is a possibility of snow Thurs! One idiot says maybe 8" Dammit Dianne! Don't make me come down there lol!!!

SacBarb, I wonder if maybe he was trying to say something to me. I will always wonder!

Hopefully tomorrow we will have someone show up to repair our wall. I hate having the hole there. Soon the bugs (if they can ski) will be here!

  23. Hi.....well, Andy put the boyfriend in a hotel for the weekend. They had a family meeting tonight. Jake (boyfriend) got a job at village inn. He starts tomorrow. Andy and wife have decided to let him stay there until he gets on his feet. Kayla will go up there as they live in the foothills and bring him down to work each day. They are really not invested in jake but want to know where Kayla is. My daughter is very upset. She texted all this to me tonight and said she feels like she lost custody of Kayla. She has so much on her plate with her job, health, and still having Emilee to raise. I feel so bad for her. I talked to Kayla tonight and told her to be gentle with her mom. We talked for awhile. I have very mixed emotions on this whole mess. JL, it's exactly as you said its been dumped in their lap. Barb, I do appreciate the prayers. I do them daily too.

Mary, hmm strange dream. I always wonder what they are trying to tell us too. I dream a lot each night. I say no wonder I'm tired in the morning. I feel bad for your son but at least all made peace.

Mary, I didn't send you our friday snowstorm . It skipped right over you. We are getting double hit on Wednesday from the North and the West. I might send that to you. High 70's tomorrow. More possible snow for Easter.

JL, I'll let Bruce know you are making arrangements for Jake to live there!! He'd be thrilled. I don't even tell him half of what's going on because i don't want to hear it from him...if you know what I mean.

  24. Barb I'm glad Sharon's pets are eating and doing well. It's amazing how fast they adjust. Much faster than us humans. There's a lot of discomfort with bad teeth and gums so they are probably feeling better than they have in a long time.

It rained here all day yesterday so I just stayed in and was lazy. It;'s not raining now but I think we may be getting a little more this afternoon.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Mary Is that hole in your wall plugged up or blocked in some way? You must be getting a lot of very cold air in there.

Hasn't your weatherman been advised that it's officially spring now? He needs to send that snow back to where it came from.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Dianne I'm sorry Tammy is feeling so upset but she hasn't really lost custody of Kayla but her girl is growing up and that includes making her own mistakes. As long as she doesn't end up pregnant or start taking drugs, she will grow out of this phase of her life. Why did the grandparents kick that kid out in the first place? Because he didn't have a job? If that's the case, maybe he will be able to move back there again in a while. There are probably other house rules he will have to commit to but that's what happens when you aren't paying your own way.

  27. Waving a quick wing from the waiting room. I broke down and went to urgent care on Saturday. After going to my chiropractor for 2 weeks, I haven't gotten any relief. They say I have sciatica. I can barely put any weight on my left leg. This is a problem since I'm on my feet for 8 hours + at work. They gave me valium and Tylenol with codeine at urgent care. Works to help me get rest (it knocks my ass out), but I was hoping the valium would do more in helping my muscles relax.

  28. My dr prescribed a nerve medicine and PT. Can't get into PT until April 5th. Praying the nerve meds help. Gotta get going. Having dinner with Shari and James. They're taking me out for a belated birthday dinner.

  29. Jodi, Have you tried peppermint oil for your sciatica. I have a LOT of experience with sciatica and peppermint oil down my spine from neck to butt really helped a lot. I also put it on the bottom of my feet. Your Hubby can help you with applying it.

  30. J/L, We had a beautiful day when I left the house at noon to go to my nail appointment and the weather people said rain would start at 3:00 or later so I didn't bother with a jacket. It's a pain to put a jacket on/off with wet nails and I would be done long before 3:00. Well, they lied big time and it stated raining buckets just about the time I was getting finished! I had an umbrella, but it was in the car, so I sat and waited about 40 minutes until it let up a little and ran to my car. And I didn't melt! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  31. Mary, Did you get the estimate on fixing your wall yet? Like J/L, I hope it's at least boarded up to keep the weather and critters out!

  32. Dianne, The weekend is over, so where is the boyfriend staying now? If he is 20, I believe I would tell him if he wants to date my daughter, he damn well better have a job that will support himself and not sponge off others, especially if they are not relatives. That gets old really fast! They probably have already told him that.
