  2. I best get prettied up for work! I have a short day, but have 8 hours of work to squeeze into 6 hours. Wish me luck!

Have a great day HOoters 💚

  3. Jodi...better enjoyed this last young day!! Good luck on your work load today. I sure hope Sam will be ok. Is work being ok with her?

I'm awake rather early for me. I woke up hot. Not to trot...just hot!

  4. Hi, HOoters. I'm supposed to get my hair done today but there's another storm coming in so I don't know if I want to drive down the coastal highway in bad weather. I guess I'll wait and see how bad it gets before it's time for me to leave. My hairdresser texted me yesterday and asked me to come in earlier that previously scheduled so I think she has something going on this afternoon and I will be her last appointment. She probably won't mind being able to leave even sooner and rescheduling me to next week.

  5. DIANNE - They have been great. She already applied for short term disability to protect her standing. As for me, I stayed an extra hour, but got everything done that I needed to. It just means I'll use an hour less of vacation time for last Saturday.

  6. DIANNE - I beg to differ. Hot to trot for sure!!!

  7. SLIN - Better safe than sorry. Let it go til next week!

  8. HOdi I got my hair done and made it home safely. My hairdresser had a cancellation so I went in earlier than planned and it was just starting to rain a little then. By the time I was done, the rain was coming down harder but not yet too bad. At least there was no wind which I wouldn't have particularly enjoyed while driving on winding mountain roads overlooking the ocean. The waves were rad today, by the way. At least we now have a tunnel to go through when traversing the stretch of the coast highway which was known as Devil's Slide. it's been raining heavily and steadily but still no winds. We are supposed to have a lot of rain for the next several days. As long as it doesn't get windy, I'm okay with that. I don't need any more damage around here.

  9. SLIN - Glad you made it home safely! Thank you for the birthday card!

  10. MARY - I got your card, too! Hoist and rinse, indeed!!! Ha!

  11. Dianne, I went to see Book of Mormon today and it was very good. Is it on your schedule this season? There are two more shows,Disney's Newsies in April and Motown Musical in May.

    ReplyDelete
  12. J/L, It rained most of the day here today, but thankfully there was no wind here either. They had to let water out of Folsom Dam so our River is rising, but so far I am not in danger. I really hate when they do that because it scares me, however with the four year drought we have had, I am not too worried yet. The higher elevations have gotten a LOT of snow, so they have to make room in the dam for when the snow melts. I hope we don't go from nothing to way too much. We just need a happy medium!

  13. Barb, we see the Disney one in a couple of weeks. We saw the Book of Mormon a couple of years ago and Motown last year. We loved the Motown one. I'm thinking of not renewing next year...too many repeats lately.

Went out to dinner with my friend Barb tonight. I was getting bored at home. Now I'm watching the debate. Hmm,

Jodi, do you have plans for tomorrow? Wow...big 50. You are just a baby. Wish I was just that age. Have a fun day and year.

JL, glad you got you got your hair all pretty again and got home safely. Hope that wind stays away. We are still having beautiful weather. I wonder how long it will last? Looking forward to changing the clocks this weekend and have daylight later.

    Mary, hi!!

  14. "Just stick it up your arse1" LOL!!

JustL, Your drive to get your hair done sounds awesome! I guess it would be a little intimidating with rain and win

Yesterday I had lunch with friends, drove home and picked up Zoie and took her to the Vet. We have n o idea what has happened to her. She would yelp/cry and growl when we tried to pick her up. She loves to be held, so it was hard seeing her this way. Her legs and back were ok, but her appetite was not so good. She looked so sad.
I had her sit on a pillow so I could pick her up. She wouldn't go up or down a couple of stairs that were a bit deep, to do her business, so I have been doing a lot of bending and lifting which flared up my back! Oye vey!
Anyhoo. I took her to the Vet, he couldn't find any obvious physical problems. He held her massaged and comforted her. We came home with muscle relaxers and pain meds. She lost over a lb. since she was there last week for her yearly physical.
Today she is eating good and keeping her meds down. Mostly sleeping. I am able to gently lift her without her crying or yelping. She looks sad, I am sure because she doesn't understand what is happening to her :(

    ReplyDelete
  15. Mary Did the vet recommend x-rays and/or lab work? Are any of her toys missing or could she have gotten into garbage and eaten something she shouldn't have? Sometimes dogs can go through their whole lives eating table scraps and then one day their body can't handle it and they get pancreatitis. Don't you wish they could tell you what happened? It definitely sounds like she is in pain. I hope she continues to improve.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Dianne I actually watched that debate tonight and was surprised to see that they all managed to act like adults for a change.

It isn't raining right at the moment but on the news they were saying that another storm front will be hitting us in a couple of hours.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Barb I was seeing on the news that there are some flood warnings being posted in certain areas. Have you ever been effected by flooding of that river by you? I sure hope it doesn't get more water than it can handle.

    ReplyDelete
  18. HOdi Happy, happy, happy birthday! I'm glad my card arrived on time and you are very welcome.

I'm glad that Jake is fully recovered and I hope Sam has a speedy recovery.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Just got back from dr. Surgery on 4/6. It isn't a piece of her femur that broke off. It's a piece of cartilage. Remove piece of cartilage, drill in the area it is missing to promote growth to make a smooth surface, and also do some sort of release to realign her knee cap. OY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. TINA - LMBO! I bet MICHAEL put you up to that!! Luv u 4 💛 💛 💛

  21. BARB - Here's to a happy medium!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. DIANNE - We're going to Country Corners tonight. GOLDIE and her hubby are coming out, along with Alex, a couple of co-workers, and some of my cousins! Looking forward to whooping it up and dancing with my hubby!

    ReplyDelete
  23. MARY - How is sweet Zoie doing today?

    ReplyDelete
  24. HOdi I hope you have a wonderful time tonight. Sorry to hear about Sam's troubles with her knee. Yikes! How did she do this or do you know?

    ReplyDelete
  25. SLIN - She was dancing a week ago Thursday night. Twisted a couple times, she felt something give, and she went down. She has a great attitude about it though. She said, I don't know what happened, I was only 2 shots in! Lol!

    ReplyDelete
  26. J/L, we have had flood warnings and some of the streets have flooded from the drains being plugged, but the river has not actually caused any flooding. About five years ago, they reinforced the levy all along the river and I hope that will hold. The worst year was 1986 where we actually to evacuate. The CHP drove around telling everyone to leave. We packed up kids and dog and went to my Mom's who lived a mile away and was on higher turf. We had to stay with her for two or three days until the water went down. My neighbor and I try to keep the drain in front of his house clear during storms, but other people in the neighborhood don't. That sometimes causes a lot of water on our street, but that drain usually takes care of it.

  27. Jodi, Heidi and John are coming out? I had no idea! Oh, you mean they are coming to celebrate with you. I'm sure you are having a good time. Give Heidi a hug from me and ask her to give you a big ol' birthday hug from me! :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Mary, Poor Zoie. I hope she is better today.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Dianne, let me know how the Disney show is. I am really anxious to see the Motown show. That's my era and I love that music.

    ReplyDelete
  30. JL,The Vet didn't seem to think anything was broken. He said that in the rib are it is better to let it heal without binding, unless it is really bad. Zoie is doing much better. She never gets into things. We are lucky that way. She never bothers cables, cords, etc. She was hurting in the throat and rib area. She could have hurt herself jumping off the bed or couch.

Jodi, sounds like fun times tonight! Up yours!!!

The guys spent the afternoon putting on new brake shoes and discs on my Jeep. I told them the rears were screeching awful! They both said, nope has to be the front brake shoes because the rear rarely wear out. All the weight is in the front (engine). I said nope, I can tell it's the rear. Jim said, it may sound like it, but it is the front. Sooo I went to the car parts place and forked over $145 for front brake shoes and discs. Well, guess what? The front didn't look worn out at all! Duh! They put the new ones on anyway because the old ones were original (2008) Off I went to the store for rear brake shoes only. $34! They took the old ones off and were shocked to see how badly they were worn! Men!!

I am waiting for 9:00 to see Hawaii 5-O with Jimmy Borges playing the evil Dr.

Just 3 weeks before my trip to Riviera Maya! I am so ready for sand sea and funn times with friends!! I hope when we do our next Ho-fest, it will be somewhere warm with water close by!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Mary I'm glad your dog is doing much better now. It sure would be helpful if they could tell us what is going on.

Why is it that men tend to disbelieve what a woman is telling them if it has to do with something mechanical. You're the one driving the damn car and you know which direction the noise is coming from. Geez!

    ReplyDelete
  32. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JODI. how was tonight. Did u have fun? Sure hope so.

Mary, glad your doggy is getting better. Three weeks will go by fast for your trip to arrive. I'd already be packing!! MEN....you sure know your own car. Irritating.

Barb, hope that water stays away from you. You will love the Motown show. You feel like the real people are there. You'll be singing along.

JL, boy...everyone is fighting over your quarterback. I didn't think he was that good. Is he or was he? Wasn't he benched for your other QB? He's in Colorado right now. Crazy football. We got Sanchez today who was unemployed from the Eagles. The bronco fans are going crazy with worry.

Tomorrow we are off to a St Pats party...green pina coladas.

  33. Dianne When Kapernick was good, he was very good but he also got to be inconsistent. He did get into a slump. We have another new coach so I think it will be another lousy year for the 49ers. The owners should have just sucked it up and never got rid of Coach Harbaugh, in my opinion and the opinion of many others.

  34. Busy day today, so just stopping in for a sec.
I am going to our VFW for a benefit for a friend of mine. She is a nurse and has bad sugar problems that have kept her out of work. Her insurance co want to drop her.
I donated a few things for the blind auction.
    later.....

    ReplyDelete
  35. BARB - GOLDIE ended up not coming out (either way!!!) She hasn't been feeling the best, so we'll be going out again soon!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. MARY - We had a really fun night! My hubby was so cute. Picked up a cake, balloon, and a fabulous "headdress" for me. Stopped at the bar on the way home to save some tables. It truly touched me. My cousin Stanley ordered my first shot. I told him something easy to ease me into the night and he brought back a Jack Daniels!!! But I survived...just barely ;)

    ReplyDelete
  37. MARY - P.s. I just popped some popcorn and am going to look for Jimmy's episode of Hawai'i 5-0 on demand!!

    ReplyDelete
  38. DIANNE - Last night was a blast!!! There were about 14 people that showed up to help me celebrate! And I got to dance with my hubby multiple times.....SCORE!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. HODi It sounds like you had a really good time last night. I'm so glad. Sounds like hubby scored a few points, too. Good for him.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Jodi, your night sounds wonderful! Awe, so sweet of your Hubby to make your night special!
I miss dancing with Jim. Live bands and slow dancing were so romantic. His idea of fun now is sitting in his Lazy Boy and watching sports lol! No complaints. I could have it worse!

The benefit went well. I only stayed a couple of hrs and got to visit with friends. Jim stayed home to watch his Sparty basketball tournament. They won! On to a harder team tomorrow!

Zoie is feeling a lot better! She is barking again and rolling over for her belly rubs. She is still a little skiddish on the stairs, but otherwise doing great. I am still keeping her drugged up lol! I may get her off of them tomorrow.

  41. Hello little hooter. What are you up to? I've been packing for our little three day mountain get away. It still takes me a long time to even pack for this trip. Guess what Mary. I'm hearing rumors on tv about some snow coming by the end of the week. You know what I do with snow----be ready. I'm not. We will probably see some the next few days up in the mountains. I'm packing long sleeve.

I went for my nails and a pedicure today. Friday is hair day then I'm all ready for another month.

I don't know if you all saw it on FB but BARBARA Gordon is moving back to Washington the end of the summer. I'll be so sad to see her go.

Jodi, glad you had a fun birthday. It was sweet of your husband to make some extra plans for you.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I didn't know Barb was moving back! She had such a beautiful new house. At least she will be able to watch the baby grow up. That would be worth the move alone!

Dianne, I just noticed the weather report! We are getting something, just not sure hif it will hit my area. You be good Missy and blow towards Zona, she wants it lol!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Mary I'm so glad Zoie is doing well now. I've got a little hitch in my step from aggravating my sciatica. I feel like I'm walking like Chester from Gunsmoke.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Dianne I didn't know Barbara was moving back. They haven't been in their new house very long at all. I assume this is about being closer to little Harrison. Good for her that she can afford to do that. I don't know why they moved to Colorado in the first place. Do you?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Dianne, I guess Barbara wants to be closer to Harrison. Who can blame her. They really grow up so fast.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Jodi, How nice to be able to celebrate this milestone with your friends. And how thoughtful of your Hubby to plan all that. It's all downhill now!

    ReplyDelete
  47. J/L, it's a beautiful day here in the Capitol. I even went outside and read for a while, just to enjoy the fresh air! It always smells so good after the rain.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Mary, I'm glad Zoie is a little better. It's is so hard for us humans when the fur babies are sick or hurt and they can't tell us what's wrong. Most of the time it is by process of elimination that we find out what is really wrong. When Tara had diarrhea we only found out it was probably her food after two rounds of meds and a shot and $300. I feed both of them a prescription diet food now and it seems to be OK.

    ReplyDelete
  49. SacBarb, I remember when we first got Zoie. Her under belly was badly broken out in a nasty rash. We tried all kinds of things, but nothing helped until we put her on grain free food. Not one problem since! Yup, I wish they could talk lol!
I am sure Zoie's only words would be "feed me!"

JL, I have a cousin that sold their beautiful home to move into a smaller one across the state to be near her Grandchildren. She didn't want to miss a minute of their growing up! She is a sweet gal. Her name is "Hope" on my FB.

My Grandchildren on Jim's side live on an isolated mountain in Montana. Nope, not going there except to visit lol! My own Grandchildren lived near Detroit and I sure wasn't going there! Now my own Grandson will be having his own child with his G-friend. I hope they stay close by!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Barb came here for her husbands job. There have been some changes so going back for job too. We will miss them here.

We are up in the mountains and its snowy just a little but windy and cold. We've mostly been taking rides and not getting out. We leave tomorrow and will stop and gamble on the way home. Snow coming to Denver on Friday. I've been having some breathing issues up here with the higher altitude. We finished planning out our summer vacation and all the hotels and shows are booked.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Barb It's been beautiful weather here, too. We are expecting rain again on Sunday and Monday so I guess I should try harder to get out and enjoy some of the sunshine. I'm hoping my gardener will be here before Sunday to take out the broken plum tree. An insurance adjuster told me to go ahead and get that tree out (saving the invoice) and then he will come and check on the fence damage.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Mary What does the family do for a livelihood that live on an isolated mountain in Montana? That does not sound like my cup of tea. It probably is beautiful, though. One of those "it's a nice place but I wouldn't want to live there" kind of thing. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  53. Dianne Where are you going on vacation this summer that requires hotels? Not a cruise? You've probably mentioned it and I forgot.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Today I tried to get into someone else's red Prius. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  55. J/L, So your key fob didn't work on someone else's car? I hope the owners didn't see you trying to break into their car! LOL Today was another beautiful day here. Sharon and I went to a Social Security seminar just to see if there was anything new that affected us. I started collecting at age 60 as a widow using Bob's SS. So today they told me that mine has been sitting in my account gaining interest and I should check to see if it will pay me more than what I currently get and if so, I can change. So tomorrow I will be making a call. It would be nice to be able to get more money for doing nothing!

    ReplyDelete
  56. Dianne, So you will get home just in time for the snow! I would love to take a ride to the mountains here, but no one wants to go with me. I like to go to Tahoe and look at the flora and fauna - well not so much fauna, because they stay pretty hidden.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Mary, Ae you ready for your trip? Who's going with you this time?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Barb I don't think anyone saw my trying to get into the wrong car. I sure felt embarrassed, though. My car was parked 3 cars down.

    ReplyDelete
  59. SasBarb, I have been *kind of* putting my vaca wardrobe together. I pretty much know what I am taking.I am going with the group that goes somewhere every other yr. Many are my old work buddies. Some bring their friends , not all have spouses there. Some work for the city transit system. They are a fun bunch!

JustL, I hope you get your yard taken care of faster than our damaged wall lol! I spent the day looking for a piece of furniture to replace the one that got hit. I can't find anything like it and it is frustrating me! I hate to shop for furniture on line. I like to see it up close.

Dianne. I would not do well in high altitudes! I would be ornery all the time lol! Do give us your vaca plans!!
I would love to go to the Netherlands next year. I have been wanting to see Amsterdam. Not sure, since I don't have anyone that can pay their way, that can travel with me.

My eyes and nose having been running like a whippoorwills ass in springtime! All the running in and out of stores with the winds over 50 mph, blowing all kinds of particles around have stirred up my sinuses!

    ReplyDelete
  60. No cruise this year. We want to go another driving trip and can't justify the cost for two trips. We have a cruise booked for October 2017 to the east coast to see the colors. We are leaving right before Memorial Day and going to Louisville, Ky, to spend a few days with Louis' kids snd get to have lunch with Beverly again. We will go to Nashville for three days again because we didn't get to do everything there and then to Branson. Louis as never been there. I've been a few times with my late husband back in the days when Andy Williams was there. We will spend about three or four days there and then go to Lake of the Ozarks for a day and night. We will be gone about two weeks and two days. I have every show booked and hotels even along the way. Our traveling days are not really long days as we get pooped and as you all know we are not early morning people. Each hotel has a hot breakfast do we will do that and be on our way. I'm really looking forward to it.

We had a nice time in the mountains (Estes Park). We had rain, snow and sun. Relaxed, planned our trip, made reservations, mate, shopped a tiny bit and went to casino today and lost. It was pretty cold up there with that darn wind.

Mary, that sounds like a great trip this year and next. I wish Jim would travel with you. You don't think he'd do a cruise?

JL, I tried to get in the wrong car too awhile back. It's very embarrassing. You kind of feel glad they didn't have an alarm on it.

Barb, I'd go to the mtns with you if I lived there. I've been to Tahoe twice and loved it. It was summer when I was there....that's been a long time ago. Won't Sharon go with you for a few days? You should get JL to come down there and be a travel buddy. Ahhh, (once again) if we all only lived closer.

    Hi Jodi.

    ReplyDelete
  61. We did not "mate" in Estes Park as the above states. I don't know what the iPad and I were trying to say but before the comments I thought I'd clarify. Lol
